Happy Friday! How about "sloppy, dirty sex" for anyone you want this week?
You know I couldn't decide so I went to the spinning wheel. It decided on Elaina Cousland x Nathaniel Howe. So here we go. I found I really liked this one. XD For @dadrunkwriting
Content Warning: rough sex, p in v, wholesome towards the end
Tumblr media
She set his teeth on edge with her recklessness.  She fought as if she was invulnerable but he knew differently.  She bled just like anyone else did, she just ignored her wounds and battled through.  Enemies would lay at her feet before she even thought to take care of her wounds.  He hated every second of it.  He never wanted to worry about her.  He shouldn’t need to.  The damned woman almost single-handedly saved Ferelden in the Fifth Blight.  She didn’t need anyone worrying about it, yet here he was.  Standing outside her bedroom door silently fuming.  He’d see her take that axe to her side and knew she was hiding from the seneschal because he’d give her an earful too.  He rapped his knuckles against the wood of her door.
“Go away Nathaniel.”  He bristled at her answer and he wasn’t sure why.  Instead of obeying her, his fingers closed over the doorknob and he pushed his way into her room.  “Maker’s breath, get out!”  He froze in his tracks gaping at the view in front of him.  All his annoyance fled from his brain along with most of his blood.  Elaina sat on the carpet by her fireplace without a stitch of clothing on her body.  He had the presence of mind to shut the door behind him as he stepped further into the room.
“Howe.”  Elaina was not in the mood to deal with Nathaniel’s lectures.  She was trying to assess the injuries on her person and mend them before they had to go out again.  The Warden Commander of Ferelden didn’t have the luxury of staying in to wait for her wounds to fully heal.  She bit down on the scathing insult, no matter her temper, his worry came from a place of caring.  She knew it wasn’t easy watching someone you cared about get injured in battle.
“Where did you get hit with the axe?” Nathaniel asked.  She huffed at him but pointed to her side.  There was barely a bruise there now.  “What?”
“You know that’s one of the benefits of wearing the armor that I do.  Axes don’t do as much damage,” Elaina retorted earning a glare from him.  He knelt next to her letting his fingers brush against the tender skin.  She winced and swatted at his hand with a hiss of pain.  “That wasn’t an invitation to touch Howe.”
“I didn’t like seeing that,” Nathaniel whispered resting his hand against her stomach.  His fingers spread wide, seeking reassurance she was still there.  He didn’t like knowing one day she might not be.  She looked up at him with those eyes the color of sapphires.  He once told her they were like lyrium.  Beautiful but volatile.  She kicked me in the shins for that one.  They’d been teenagers and he thought he’d been smooth with that line.
“Nathaniel.”  He shook his head against whatever she was going to say.  He shifted until she stretched out under him.  Instead of arguing she pulled him down to her lips.  He groaned into the kiss when her body softened under his.
“I can’t be gentle,” he whispered against her lips, tugging at her bottom lip almost as if to punish her or himself.  He wasn’t sure.  Her answer was to drag her nails down his back.
“I don’t care.”  He gave a harsh laugh before reaching between them and freeing his cock.  Elaina’s groan was swallowed by him as he pushed inside her willing body.  His fingers dove into her hair, twisting to keep her in place as his hips thrust against hers in an almost punishing rhythm.  He’d make it up to her later, right now he needed this.  Needed her.
Their breathing mingled together, harsh groans bounced off the walls along with the sounds of sex.  His lips left bruises along her neck and collarbone, and her nails left trails of fire down his back.  His teeth sank into her shoulder with a harsh groan of her name as he spilled himself inside her.  He buried his face against her neck as her touch gentled.
Her hands ran over his hair, trailing down his shoulders and back as he struggled to get his breathing under control.  He leaned up on his forearms, looking down at her.  “Feel better?”  He groaned and gently touched his forehead to hers.
“I always do when you’re under me.”  Elaina paused and he kissed her as she laughed.

Thinking more about the Meredith Inquisition Antagonist AU and how it would've affected the world and story of Inquisition. Because of instead of a Tevinter Magister, you've got the Knight-Commander of the Templar Order. Not a mage a Templar. One of the Chantry's own. Like. Imagine how this would affect the Chantry and the Templars, when the world finds out that not only had a Templar blown up the Temple of Sacred Ashes—a holy site for those of the Andraste faith—but also killed Divine Justine V and many others, and is now one of the biggest threats since the Archdemon and the Darkspawn of the Fifth Blight. Imagine the Inquisition's new mission is now not only to defeat Meredith and close the breech, but to also investigate the Chantry and the Templars for answers on how Meredith came back and if they had anything to do with it—and it's given to you by both Orlais and Ferelden. And in the end, after the defeat of Meredith, you can pass one more judgement to Orlais and Ferelden before the game ends: The fate of the Chantry. You decide whether to let it remain as is, serverly limit their power to the point they are no longer the religious powerhouse they are, or completely get rid of it and rebuild from scratch. The pros and cons are yours to weigh and the outcome is yours to decide. So what will you choose, Inquisitor?

v. DRAGON AGE [ ORIGIN - VEILGUARD ] * very slight spoilers in the veilguard arc, but only in the very last part of this post. there's a warning for when the veilguard stuff starts, don't worry!
Tumblr media
peril in their eyes, the battle has begun. death becomes the ashes of the evils yet to come. [ ... ] inquisitor's delight, a destiny it shines. magister, your ancient hand is broken in the light. — FALL OF THE MAGISTER
name: kira shirogane trevelyan -> house trevelyan is a noble family that acted as the ruling bloodline of the teyrnir of ostwick in the free marches, though a minor house in the standards of most of thedas. it is currently headed by bann and lady trevelyan, and it is noted that most of house trevelyan have close ties to the chantry in ostwick; as was their tradition, most of their kin are trained to go into service to the chantry.
aliases: the chaos witch, the beast of ostwick, archmage of rift magic, the " herald of andraste " title/s: lady trevelyan ( formerly ), the inquisitor, comtesse in kirkwall
species: " human " / half - elf ( mother was an elf, father was a human ) age: 21 ( origin ), 31 - 33 ( inquisition + trespasser ), 43 ( veilguard )
class: mage ( specialization: battle mage, arcane warrior, rift mage, spellblade )
affiliation: the ferelden circle of mages ( formerly ), the traveling party of the hero of ferelden during the fifth blight ( formerly ), the inquisition ( currently )
occupation: mage of the ferelden circle and apprentice to first enchanter irving ( formerly ), apostate mage and mercenary ( origin ), head of the spider lily order, the inquisitor, archmage of rift magic
weapons: yavanalis ( staff, cold ), staff of corruption ( staff, electricity ), the blade of tidarion ( staff, post-inquisition ), a cutpurse slicer dagger that had been a gift from a friend and she keeps with her at all times
current location: skyhold ( where she can often be found whilst the inquisition was still active ). post - trespasser location is currently unknown, but it is said that sending a raven with an intriguing enough letter to anyone bearing the sign of the inquisition may grant you an audience with the inquisitor.
companions: a raven named sanzu, the bog unicorn that serves as her usual mount.
Tumblr media
[ FAMILY ]
parents: masako and hanshiro shirogane ( birth parents ), bann and lady trevelyan ( adoptive parents ) siblings: matsuko shirogane ( older brother ), ashitaka shirogane ( older brother ), yuuichiro shirogane ( younger brother ), the children of bann and lady trevelyan ( adoptive older siblings ) other relatives: lord albrecht ( distant relative on the trevelyan side ), lady osher lotharn trevelyan bayart ( cousin )
children: akihiko and ryoko shirogane -> said to have been born some years after the fifth blight, the identity of their father unknown, the shirogane twins were born to who thedas had called the chaos witch. while their identity was kept secret, they were raised by their mother somewhere in the free marches, rumored to be kirkwall.
Tumblr media
[ BACKSTORY : PROLOGUE + ORIGIN ]
when their youngest and only daughter was four summers old, hanshiro and masako shirogane were killed by bandits in their rural village, leaving their three children in the woods after their parents told them to run. they were found by templars before the the sun had set, though unbeknownst to them, the child had seen how their commander had killed their mother, an elf, for having been an apostate mage in hiding. the children were brought back to the nearby chantry, where the bann and lady trevelyan had been visiting from the free marchest, and out of the kindness of their hearts ( or perhaps for the sake of their image, as pious followers of the maker's scripture ) had adopted the children and brought them back to ostwick. they were given their family's name and raised as their own.
in ostwick, kira trevelyan was adored by nearly all those who came across the bann's youngest daughter. she could often be found dressed in fabrics of lilacs and holding onto her mother's hand, as the lady brought her often to the chantry in prayer or to hosted galas where she never strayed far from their side. a quiet girl with a kind smile that earned her the favor of many a noble who cooed at her as though she were a bird in a lovely cage. she was taught the scriptures of andraste and how to wield weapons, as was the house's tradition, in hopes that the child will become useful to the chantry, for the trevelyans have always been devout followers of the maker. although kira did not truly hold devotion towards the maker was willing to do everything for the trevelyans, to pay them back for all they had done for her and her brothers, for they were her family. the bann had often reminded her of what they had done for her and her brothers, as though there was a debt to be paid, but not without affection.
at the age of twelve, all would change for the youngest trevelyan when her magic had manifested. standing in a tempest of her own creation when she had accompanied her eldest brother to one of the smaller towns within the free marches, the bandits who had overrun them now trapped in a fury of hail and lightning. the beast of ostwick, they called her. she never forgot the way her father had looked at her whilst she sat in the templars' holding cell, the pleas of his eldest son, or the way her mother never bothered to see her be sent away, as though she was nothing to them the moment she had become a mage. nearly the next morning, she was sent to the ferelden circle, as though there was no place for her in ostwick, not even their circle.
kira was a very talented and powerful mage, but she learned how to keep her skills subtle in order to quiet the rumors amongst the enchanters that they wished to turn her tranquil should she prove too much to handle. at the age of sixteen, she had undergone and passed her harrowing. she eventually becomes the apprentice of first enchanter irving and gets sent on an assignment with her mentor and a group of templars who were headed to ferelden. they had unexpectedly been ambushed by a group of darkspawn, no more than a dozen and yet the damage done to their small, traveling group was far more devastating than they anticipated. kira had managed to survive after slaying a few by her own staff, and came across a grey warden who aided them. it was said that the warden had wanted to invoke conscription and recruit the young mage, but did not have the chance to. taking the opportunity of a disarray band of templars, kira had fled, ignoring the shouts of the first enchanter behind her. she was unable to be found afterwards, and declared an apostate mage. her first order of business was to destroy her phylactery.
during her time as an apostate, kira travels all throughout thedas, surviving with her cunning alone and eventually taking a few mercenary jobs wherein a mage was useful but hard to come by, involving herself in several criminal circles that ran through thedas's underground. in this time, her ambition continued to grow more than the circle of mages had ever allowed it to, and she eventually manages to start a hidden network of her own that consisted of spies and blades sworn to her. it was known as the spider lily order.
during the events of the fifth blight, kira is able to be recruited as a companion by the hero of ferelden, after she offers her services when whispers of the grey warden's activities reach her ears as told to her by the spider lily. after the events of origin, she parts ways with the party, and otherwise disappears for the following decade. she spends her time studying forbidden arts of magic, investigating the fade as well, following all that happened with the archdemon. the only proof of her life was the occasional dissertation she would send to the ferelden circle by untraceable raven that contained her latest studies, with only the condition that they would credit her work otherwise she would " make them pay " as she always vaguely threatened at the end of every letter.
Tumblr media
[ ARC: DA 2 ]
some years following the fifth blight, kira had made her way to kirkwall, under the disguise of simply an outlander with two children barely a handful of summers old who were her own. she lived within the shadows of the free marches, true name or intentions shrouded beneath her attempt at disguising her nature as a mage and as one who had fought alongside the hero of ferelden. it is only when the trevelyan name could be heard mentioned through the streets does trouble begin to stir for her.
Tumblr media
[ ARC: INQUISITION + TRESPASSER ]
a tear in the very sky, and a conclave turned into ruin : her motivations for having snuck into the conclave were curiosity at best, upon hearing word that the ostwick circle and trevelyan name were to make an appearance. what followed was a blur of light, swallowed by darkness and finding herself chained in a dungeon, and a fragment of that same light embedded into her very arm. it was a dangerous thing, to put a mage of her reputation once known as the chaos witch, and now branded as the " herald of andraste " with the only anchor that could close the tears within the veil, as well as heading the inquisition. apart from being the inquisitor, kira is also known as the archmage of rift magic, after her studies in the last decade being the foundation upon which the new practice of rift magic was built in the first place.
Tumblr media
[ ARC: VEILGUARD ] * will be updated as i progress through the game ... i haven't even finished act one yet so that's about as far as my info on kira here goes so far LMAO
kira is mostly busy attempting to keep the southern lands of thedas in tact amidst he onslaught of blight and armies alike running rampant. although she had disbanded the inquisition, she is still the inquisitor to many, and remains a leader to the armies at the front lines of these efforts to push back against the destruction that comes in waves. she continues to orchestrate evacuations and strategies that take up most of her time.

THORA CADASH
triggers: drug use/drug trade
Notes
I write Inquisition as having been about three years, not one. I do make the time between Trespasser and Veilguard shorter for the sake of the timeline, so Veilguard still takes place in 9:52 Dragon.
Thora's criminal past becomes common knowledge, although what she did is subject to rumour.
Her default Hero of Ferelden is an f!Paragon Aeducan (Tamar Aeducan) written by Joly. I am happy to write with others, naturally.
Iander Lavellan (@theshirallen) is a canon companion/agent in her story.
Any choices she made in-game can be changed to respect the other writer's choices/preferences regarding their character (for example, Thora will always recruit the mages, but if you prefer human!Cole I would defer to the Cole rper).
Basics
Nickname(s): Sunflower, Salroka Title(s): Inquisitor, First-Thaw, Cometesse, Herald of Andraste Profession: Carta smuggler (formerly) Age: 32 (in Inquisition) Birthday: 4th Solace, 9:9 Dragon Race: Dwarf Gender/Pronouns: Cis Woman, She/Her Orientation: Bisexual
Personality
Faith has always been one of the driving motivations in Thora’s life. Faith in the Chant, faith in the Stone, and faith in the people around her. Her willingness to cooperate and spread work around aided her when she found herself leading a small team of smugglers. As a leader she’s personable, and inspires more loyalty in her subordinates than she often realises. The one person she has very little faith in is herself. She has a tendency to second-guess herself and rarely takes credit for her accomplishments, preferring instead to spread the praise to others.
History
Born in Ostwick to the infamous Cadash family. Thora was given two choices: marry rich, or join the Carta. She had no interest in finding a suitable husband, and so as soon as she was physically capable she joined the Carta alongside her brother, Tetrak. For most of her teenage years she was used as a unassuming mule for lyrium deals, a non-threatening presence that rarely drew the eye of the authorities. It was among the Carta she received her casteless brand, the mark meant she was as good as dust, but at least she was apart of something.
Her first real assignment was in Amaranthine. After the Fifth Blight the Cadash family were ready to get a foothold in Ferelden, with the Ferelden Circle decimated and the Templars in disarray it was easy enough for her team to move in. In Amaranthine she witnessed the the destruction of most of the city, but her team were able to make it out with a tidy profit to show for it.
From Ferelden she was sent to Kirkwall alongside her brother. They arrived at the height of tension between the Chantry and the Qunari. Her brother, moved by the purpose and acceptance the Qunari offered, joined their ranks. Thora was left isolated, establishing ties in the fracturing Templar and mage ranks. She didn’t hear from Tetrak until months after the Qunari attack, in a letter which urged her to join him.
Thora remained in Kirkwall, withdrawing a few months before the Chantry explosion set the Mage-Templar War in motion. When the Conclave was called in 9:41 Dragon, she and a team of Carta dwarves were sent to the summit, knowing the decision would impact the lyrium trade as surely as it would the mages.
Verses
v; once more unto the breach ( thora | inqusition ) default. open.
She was a mistake, an oversight- she was supposed to be dead. Whether it was sheer luck that saved her or divine intervention Thora stumbled from the Breach, broken, but breathing.
Before that day she had never been anyone, at least so far as everyone else was concerned. Most days she was lucky if people used her name, she'd been trained to answer to 'dwarf' and worse, 'Herald' took some adjusting, and 'Inquisitor' took more. Yet Thora is determined to do the most with her newfound power, knowing it was broken before any holes tore the sky in two.
Main choices: Mages allied, Celene rules alone, took the Well of Mythal, redeem Solas
v; and then the dawn came ( thora | trespasser ) plotted.
(veilguard spoilers - anything veilguard is a wip)
In the wake of Corypheus's defeat, Thora spent most of her time negotiating and going to banquets. As time went by most of those she considered among her Inner Circle moved on with their lives, with a few exceptions. Though she and Divine Victoria put off the Exalted Council for as long as they could, soon the time came when she had to face them.
She arrived, resolved to keep the Inquisition intact despite Ferelden's call for dissolution, ignoring the ever-present sting in the middle of her left hand that had been getting worse by the day. Considering the revelations of corruption within her own people, and the realities of Solas's plan, Thora disbanded the Inquisition.
In the years since the Exalted Council and Solas's ritual, Thora resides in Kirkwall. Her half-sister takes her family's seat at the Merchant's Guild. She presides over a small network of spies, scouts, and more, and commits to research in her hope of understanding Solas's plans and how to save him from himself.
When the Blighted hordes are at Kirkwall's door, with Merrill's (or Morrigan, if writing with a Merrill who has a different verse) help, Thora takes refugees to Cadash Thaig through an eluvian. It was discovered during Inquisition by herself and Solas, and now lies under the protection of ancient Elvhen spirits who seek to guard what Kal-Sharok had destroyed long ago. For now, it is safe, and from there she redoubles her efforts to see if there is a better way for her friend's story to end.
v; dust to dust ( thora | youth ) plotted.
Thora is born in the city of Ostwick. She is the eldest daughter, and grows up with an expectation of marrying above her station put upon her by her father. Instead, she joins the Carta when she is old enough to carry a weapon. Though initially she's little more than a kind face to smooth negotiations, she becomes a part of the organisation in her own right.
Over time, she creates a reputation for herself and is given her own team, small though it may be. She deals, for the most part, with breaking deals and pushing lyrium. In the wake of the Fifth Blight the Cadash clan decided that it was best to get their foot in the door of Ferelden, so to speak. They sent several groups, and Thora, now twenty-two, was given a postion in Amaranthine. She was there when the Darkspawn attacked the city, and while the city burned the Carta hid, their swords drawn, but unwilling to fight. She remained just long enough to see that the Carta turned a profit before she left for Kirkwall.
v; because of these souls we sang ( thora | companion ) plotted.
Before or after the events of In Hushed Whispers / Champions of the Just Thora can be recruited as a means to bring more lyrium into the Inquisition. She joins the party, and boasts the powers of a dwarven beserker, albeit an untrained one.
As a companion she is less confident than as Inquisitor, and without the affirmation of a whole organisation is not inclined to think of herself as anything more than a Duster. If befriended, she can be encouraged to leave the life of a Carta agent to pursue other goals. If Leliana is crowned Divine, she may join the Chantry as either a Sister or Left Hand. If it is someone else, then she will put her services to use in some other way.

Codex entry: Leliana (1/2)
"She has many names. Most know her as "Sister Leliana" or "the Nightingale." Some refuse to speak her name at all, referring to her only as the Left Hand of the Divine—the shadow behind the Sunburst Throne.
The spymaster Marjolaine trained Leliana from a young age. For years, Leliana was Marjolaine's instrument in the Great Game of Orlais. While Leliana was devoted to Marjolaine, the reverse was not true. Marjolaine betrayed Leliana and almost succeeded in killing her. Leliana survived the betrayal, thanks to Revered Mother Dorothea.
Following this betrayal, Leliana spent several years in a cloister in Ferelden, hiding from her past. Inspired by Revered Mother Dorothea, Leliana dedicated herself to her faith, discovering peace in a simple life of devotion. But when the Fifth Blight began, she received what she believed a vision from the Maker. This prompted her to leave her sanctuary, taking up arms against the darkspawn.
Several years after the defeat of the Archdemon, Leliana received a summons from Dorothea—now Divine Justinia V. She returned to Orlais to become an agent of the Sunburst Throne.
Justinia perished in the explosion that destroyed the Divine Conclave, and Leliana became a founding member and spymaster of the new Inquisition."

26. A letter to Rook from Serafina, House Veritas
This letter is written on expensive parchment in an ornate hand. The silver seal adorning the envelope bears a stylized 'V' on a corvid's breast, the crest of House Veritas.
Cattivella mio,
It's about time I heard from you. Nearly a year without a visit? Nary a letter? Not even so much a as a message delivered through Andarateia?? Spare me the excuses - I know you've kept in touch with the Seventh Talon. She speaks of you fondly. Had she not kept me apprised of your continued antics, I might have thought you no longer drew breath. I've lost sleep over it, Vas'ii. Pictured your bones picked clean by fish and strewn at the bottom of the canals.
I jest. Mostly. I should have known you'd find your way -- you've always been a stubborn little thing.
If you think these words are writ in anger, I pray you hear them instead uttered in affection, Vas'ii. I am happy to hear that you've been keeping well.
You were hurt when the Fifth Talon sent you away from Treviso after your confrontation with the Antaam -- and hurt more still when I did not move to stop him. You've danced around the edges of Crow business long enough to know that it is like a spider's web -- difficult to navigate, easy to get caught up in. Even a little movement can cause a shockwave and bring danger right to your doorstep.
And what you did? It was not little, bambina.
The Crows are in a fragile state. There is change on the wing, and not every house is happy to see us eschew business as usual to fight for Trevisan freedom. Indeed, some Guildmasters attempted to use your well-intentioned misstep to undermine not only House de Riva, but the entire movement against the Antaam. And still others called for your blood as payment for the foiled operation against the Qunari.
That is the reason Viago sent you away. Since he will not admit it to you, allow me to do it for him. And that is also the reason I couldn't ask him not to.
Even so...I know your heart was in the right place. It always is, Vas'ii. And aren't I the foolish old woman who always told you to follow that heart? Perhaps the folly, then, is mine. Such sentiment directly contradicts so much of what I was taught when I trained to be a Crow as a young woman. But it was your brave, foolish, hopeful heart that made me take you in all those years ago, and it was the same heart that made me hope for a better future than the Crows for you. Even now, I know that it will not steer you wrong.
And speaking of matters of the heart...
Andarateia tells me that you and Lucanis Dellamorte have been exchanging -- and I quote the Seventh Talon here -- "yearning, impassioned glances whenever they think the other isn't looking."
I confess, I smile to picture it, though I can hardly imagine either of you doing such things -- and yes, I know the Demon of Vyrantium well enough to try. I've been entrusted with his contract negotiations for years now, after all. I don't need to tell you to be careful, but I will anyways.
Lucanis is a Dellamorte, one of the two remaining grandsons of the late First Talon, in case you've forgotten. Caterina was not a woman to be trifled with. You will have even more eyes upon you if you tangle with him, Crow politics being what they are...so tread carefully, Vas'ii. Worth mentioning with the way you always rush headfirst into things.
Now. Matronly advice aside...
Next time you are in Treviso, let us meet for dinner. This is not a request, mind you. It's been too long since I've last seen you, and as much as your recent writing at least hints at your happiness (gods and blight and the burdens of leadership aside), I would be happier to hear it in your voice.
And bring Lucanis along! Since you've apparently hired him, we have to discuss his rates. Killing gods is outside of his usual purview, but given that Viago refers to them as power-hungry ancient mages, I'm sure we can reach an accord. I hope your benefactors have deep pockets. And I would fain see these yearning, impassioned glances in person to determine the depths of your affection myself.
Again, this is not a request.
All my love,
Serafina
---
A note scrawled at the bottom in Rook's handwriting:
Serafina is going to treat this like one of her romance novellas, I just know it. I don't know which would be worse: bringing Lucanis and having to endure Serafina's cat-like grin and pithy quips the entire time, or leaving him at the Lighthouse and inviting her ire. Do I even warn him?
'Oh, hey Lucanis. Did you know your contract negotiator is also the woman who raised me since I was nine? Also I know we haven't spoken about what happened in pantry but she wants you to come to dinner. Too soon?'
Is how I feel about him that obvious??
Shit.
---
An addendum, written in Bellara's tidy print:
Rook, I'm not sure how this letter made it into my room.
But oh, oh! Your guardian is Lucanis's contract negotiator?? And she was the one to bring you into the Crows? And then you got a contract to rescue Lucanis?? Are you sure your life isn't a serial romance? I mean, come on Rook! The plot practically writes itself!
Also... what happened in the pantry?
And...yeah, you are kind of obvious. At least when Lucanis isn't looking. But it's cute!
---
Rook's reply:
Damned wisps.
Nothing happened in the pantry.
That last question was meant to be rhetorical.
But maybe you're right. No one does dramatic stories quite like the Crows. Remind me to tell you about the assassin who ran off with his target in Ferelden, and then returned to Antiva to instigate an inter-house rebellion with his lover at his side. Just mentioning his name will have certain guildmasters looking over their shoulders to this day.
Oh, and the lover? None other than the Hero of Ferelden herself. Now there's a plot hook.

main verse || #.v hof. [ i haven’t lost hope; i’m just realistic ] ||  After the conclusion of the Fifth Blight, an exhausted Tabris leaves Denerim with Cyrion and Soris, telling only a few companions where he’s going. He spends the next ten years narrowly dodging summons to Weisshaupt and working with Avernus to find a cure for the taint when he’s not hiding on Soris’ alchemical farm. You can read about the player-dependent outcomes I assume when playing him here; full description with his reasoning is still under construction. This verse is very fluid, any decisions he’s made can be changed to better fit your muse.
secondary verse || #.v aof. [ cues from a script i wrote at sixteen ] || Duncan never visits the Alienage; Seysil is jailed, but the execution is postponed when word of Ostagar hits Denerim. Enter Howe. A year later, the Warden releases a very bitter elf from Howe’s dungeons with the rest of the prisoners there. He’s too weak to help them fight, but he describes the guard rotations and draws them serviceable floor plans on scrap paper. They meet him again outside the faux clinic during Unrest in the Alienage, where he’ll help them clean up the Tevene slavers. :: DA2 : Unable to bear his family’s pity anymore, Seysil visits a friend from his time with the Friends who relocated to Kirkwall. It’s shitty there. He needs funds if he wants to leave, so he starts cagefighting in Darktown. :: Inq : The Fang of Fen’harel takes on a new meaning. Seysil joins the Inquisition as an agent, but it’s not Leliana he answers to.
horror verse || #.v dsc. [ arrow to the head ] || To hunt a thing, you must become it. Or, the Golems of Amgarrak goes very wrong. What happens to a person with poisoned blood in the abscence of light or hope?
modern thedas || #.v mod. [ my ribs that show through t-shirts ] || After losing his scholarship for an engineering degree, Seysil Tabris spends his time moping around father’s yard, gutting cars when he decides to take a break from chainsmoking and daydrinking. The alienage would have gathered a committee to evict him for the weekly 3am drift racing if he didn’t look so profoundly sad all the time.
skyrim || #.v tes. [ even crooks have to pay the rent ] || (Wood Elf/Orc; Thieves’ Guild) Born in the Waterfront District to a former Spectre, Seysil was introduced to the guild young. It was only a matter of time before he signed on. In his twenties, a childhood rivalry gets out of hand, and the ranking blackcap gives him an ultimatum; he can either leave the guild, or relocate to Riften. This was, in Seysil’s words, “Pretty lame,” but he takes the deal. He now works as a bouncer for the Ragged Flagon, trading shifts with Dirge, but the industrious thief might know that he's got his fingers in the illegal trade of Dwemer artifacts.
forgotten realms || #.v dnd. [ when the heat dies down ] || (Rogue/Fighter) wip lmao

I see these and all I can think of is Kallian Tabris joking with Soris about running away to join the Dalish because nerves of their arranged marriages are being questioned and Soris is like ‘no cousin, if i’m suffering this so are you.’ Which makes me sad because when it came time to the actual marriage she didn’t think her groom was that bad. And was actually quite excited to be married to him - well, until the Lords came.

It’s chillier than she had expected, and her mind hadn’t made the connection between the fact that tagging along likely meant sleeping in tents on the ground until the others were setting up canvases on sticks and starting fires. No matter, it’s been a few years since she’d last done this but she’ll adjust. She’ll need to buy herself something warmer and more protective than her Chantry robes, though, especially with travel to the Frostbacks on the itinerary.
The bard turns to the Warden when everyone seemed to be settled for the night. “I’ve spent so long in the Chantry that I nearly forgot what this is like,” she admits, her fingers running along one of the sturdy sticks that held her tent up. “You’ll have to forgive me if I have a sore back tomorrow.”

its crazy how we can get so many diff things from the same story like thats real proof of how multifaceted multilayered and cunty this story is.. like. im walking while i write this and not checking it twice so it might end up making no fucking cents but. ive always seen dao as a game about (among other things) rebirth and its one of the main reasons why im still so in love with it.. like the best origins ACTUALLY start with a baptism of blood for the wardens.. brosca is born and recognized as an actual person in the surface but that could only happen after their baptism of blood (the proving in a minor way, but mainly the murder of behrat by their own hands, them emerging from the surface coated not only in remnants of the blood of the warrior and noble caste from the proving but mainly bathed in behrats blood, the remains of the dwarf that was a living reminder of how, in the eyes of orzammar, they would never be considered a person, only property, only a tool). through their blood, though his death, rebirth. like the fact tht they get their autonomy, their agency, the thing that literally separates a person from a possession AFTER the death of behrat and their ascension to the surface. them carving themselves a path out with THEIR OWN HANDS, THE LATENT BELIEF THAT LIFE HAS TO BE SOMETHING MORE, AND THEIR DESIRE TO LIVE AND BE RECOGNIZED, EVEN IF THEY HAD TO FORCE PEOPLE TO RECOGNIZE THEM AS A PERSON, but ultimately getting to leave their old inhuman existence behind through the help of others(1/?)
(2/?)brosca only getting collectively recognized as a person after going to the surface, the place where not only do they get to see real light and breathe fresh air, and actually FEEL unabashedly for the first time in their entire life, but also where they get to feel how its like to be treated like a regular individual. the first place where they are treated kindly and decently. brosca having to face the reality of their own latent mortality firsthand during the very same night of the day they arrive at ostagar. and them getting to experience the fullness and complexity of life and emotion, and the power that lies in them, only during the first blight, a time that is supposed to be the most hopeless and horrifying of times, but that is instead experienced by them as the year where they discovered not only themselves as a person through love, kindness and companionship, but also others. like dragon age origins is literally Life: the speedrun for some of the characters and the player. some of these mfs never got to live or be people before the events of dao. morrigan, zevran and brosca are reborn through other people's love and active recognition of their humanity. alistair only had a real sense of identity for the first time when duncan chose him and took him away and that stayed with him as an act of love. wynne was reborn when she fused with faith and she describes this new state of existence as "constantly feeling loved". oghren got another chance at life in the surface, and was reborn as a "hero" and later on, as a grey warden. sten "dies" when he loses his sword, becomes someone different and goes back home a changed man, despite looking the same. shale is murdered and put through literal hell by having her body turned into a literal tool, her identity and sense of personhood lost in the transformation and through others treatment of her as a tool. she spends years living as an object before being born again during the fifth blight, the first time ever she is allowed agency, gets her memories of her old life, is treated, loved, and recognized as a person, and chooses her own path for the first time ever.
(3/3)leliana dying after her torture and actually being reborn as a person due to the love that she found in the chantry. and the truth that rebirth, personhood, identity and humanity are not ever truly reached through violence.. always through courage, love and acceptance. i said v little abt zev and morrigan but like. morrigan's example being quite literally breaking free of her old life as her mother's tool, learning how to be a person, her own person, and being recognized and loved as one and not seen as something wicked and inhuman for the first time, and having the symbol of her humanity, identity and personhood returned to her (the mirror), just to end her story by her loving someone so much that she sacrifices her new life just to allow them to continue living. zev's rebirth as a person kinda mirrors morrigans, but it always drives me crazy how its like. recognized by the narrative as him actually choosing his identity as the black shadow after the fifth blight. like actual rebirth through love happens there, this actually being validated by taliesins line of "does zevran need to live?". the jarring difference between brosca and leske during their return to orzammar and the fact that zev mustve felt the same when he encountered taliesin again. the fact that both taliesin and leske are both the doubles and mirror/inverted images of zev and brosca, and that looking at them must've felt like looking at their won corpse. anyways something something humanity is only reached through love something something phoenix rises from the ashes etc. like the way that dao is both a story of rebirth and a love story because those two things are one and the same due to the deeply transformative nature of love, real love... this game fucks severely it sucks so fucking bad that dai was pure ass. umm anyways i forgot where i was going with this & its prolly unintelligible but umm. im a huge fan of your da posts especially the unhinged ones <3

Tonight’s special edition of AEW Dynamite, night 1 of Fyter Fest 2021, opened with Jon Moxley’s fifth successful defense of the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship, beating The Elite/Impact Wrestling’s “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson with Death Rider. It was Anderson’s first NJPW match since February 2016, but also his first challenge for an IWGP singles title since Power Struggle 2015 on 11/7/2015, where he failed to beat Shinsuke Nakamura for the IWGP Intercontinental belt.
The match was under 10 minutes, and while a full crowd in Cedar Park TX made the match loud and vocal, it wasn’t AS good as Mox v. Nagata, but still very good. Mox is now the record holding IWGP US champion, in terms of days held AND defenses, eclipsing Kenny Omega’s 4 defenses in the inaugural reign of this title. This was surprisingly clean, with both Doc Gallows and Eddie Kingston brawling to the back in the first minute of the match, leaving Mox and Anderson to have a more NJPW-styled bout.
Immediately following the match, we had a promo from Lance Archer, challenging Mox to a rematch at last, since Archer never got his rematch after losing the title at WK14. Archer demanded another Texas deathmatch stipulation, and wanted it next week for night 2 of AEW Fyter Fest 2021, in Garland TX. Mox cut a promo later in the night accepting the challenge. So THAT will be a fun one.
Also on tonight’s episode, Wheeler Yuta, late of NJPW Strong, made his Dynamite debut against The Inner Circle’s Sammy Guevara, whilst being seconded by Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy and Kris Statlander. It was a fun little sprint, with Guevara getting the win. This one also had the Dynamite return of DDT/Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling’s Yuka Sakazaki after 16 months, beating Penelope Ford with a Magical Girl Splash.
A rare content warning from me for this one -- earlier today it was revealed that a former IWGP Intercontinental and NEVER Openweight singles and 6-man tag team champion was arrested back on 6/29/2021 for violating a protective order. I’m not going to say who it is, nor will I tag this person, because I think he is an abject piece of shit and at this point his time in NJPW was a blight on the company, and don’t ever want to mention him again. The link here goes into descriptions of verbal, physical and sexual abuse, coercion, gaslighting, etc., as well as a possible involuntary outing of someone’s sexual orientation, so be warned, this is NOT an easy read, also including a semi-redacted version of the arrest report. All in all, I hope this person is DONE in wrestling.
The next tour show isn’t until Saturday, and will be streamed on NJPWWorld. Also on NJPWWorld, this week’s episode of NJPW Strong will start the Tag Team Turbulence tournament, featuring several people who worked AEW Dynamite tonight!
- 7/17/2021, Tokyo Korakuen Hall (NJPWWorld)
Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tomohiro Ishii [CHAOS], Yota Tsuji & Yuya Uemura v. KENTA, EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi & Dick Togo [Bullet Club]
Tetsuya Naito, SANADA & BUSHI [Los Ingobernables] v. Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr. & Minoru Suzuki [SZKG]
Robbie Eagles, SHO & YOH [CHAOS] v. El Desperado, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & DOUKI [SZKG]
Ryusuke Taguchi v. Taiji Ishimori [Bullet Club]
Rocky Romero [CHAOS] v. El Phantasmo [Bullet Club]
