My constant urge to create serious pic+lyric sets using pop girlie (affectionate) lyrics and cracky pic+lyrics sets using serious lyrics
#not me listening to hamilton and perfectly visualizing Spider's various fuckups accompanied by#'why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? soon that attitude may be your doom'#tho i also feel like there's something to#'(cartwright) faces an endless uphill climb. he has something to prove he has nothing to lose'#you would of course have to change it to#'(x) doesn't hesitate. he exhibits no restraint. he takes and he takes and he takes. but he keeps (losing) anyway'

Bsd characters as Hamilton lyrics
Mori:
But you don't get a win unless your playing the game. Oh you get love for it. You get hate for it. But you get nothing if you wait for it.
.
Fukuchi:
Do you know what Angelica said when she found out what you'd done? She said, you have married an Icarus, he has flown to close to the sun.
You and your words obsessed with your legacy. Your sentences border on senseless. And you are paranoid in every paragraph, how they perceive you.
.
Kouyou:
While we're talking let me offer you some free advice. Talk less, smile more. Don't let them know what your against or what your for.
You wanna get ahead? Fools who run their mouths wind up dead.
.
Chuuya:
And I'm never gonna stop until I make em drop and burn and scatter the remains.
Watch me engagin em, escapin em, enraging em out. I go to France for more funds, I come back with more guns, and ships. And so their balance shifts.
.
Akutugawa:
I'm not falling behind or running late. I'm not standing still, I am laying in wait. Hamilton faces an endless uphill climb. He has something to prove, he has nothing to lose.
Hamiltons pace is relentless, he wastes no time. What is it like in his shoes?
.
Atsushi:
How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore and a scotsman. Dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in the Caribbean.
By providence, impoverished in squalor. Grow up to be a hero and a scholar?
.
Dazai:
Death doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints. It takes and it takes and it takes, and we keep living anyway.
We rise and we falk and we break and make our mistakes. And if there's a reason I'm still alive when everyone who loves me has died.
I'm willing to wait for it.
.
Kunikida:
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We fought for these ideals we shouldn't settle for less. These are wise words enterprising their quotem. Don't act suprised you guys cause I wrote em.
.
Ranpo:
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Soon that attitude may be your doom.
.
Fukuzawa:
I'm erasing myself from the narrative. Let future historians wonder how Eliza reacted when you broke her heart. You have thrown it all away, sit back watch it burn.

do better - say anything
Your life is always the post of something else / Where's the present? The way that you present yourself / And it's disgusting how little that you try / The existential equivalent of pink eye / Drink alone and watch TV / You're expecting harmonies /To tap your tune with silver spoons / The anthem of impending doom / Guiding Satan's steady hand / Forcing Beatles to disband /It's eco-freaks and drama queens / The young at heart know what I mean

I'm not calling you a liar / Just don't lie to me / I'm not calling you a thief / Just don't steal from me / I'm not calling you a ghost / Just stop haunting me /And I love you so much / I'm gonna let you / Kill me

Seems you cannot be replaced / And I'm the one who will stay / oh In this world, it's just us / You know it's not the same as it was / In this world, it's just us / You know it's not the same as it was / As it was / You know it's not the same

What is a champion? For me, I don't know when I was finally smart enough to understand this, but for me now, it's got less to do with gloves on your hand and how hard a punch you can take, than how great of endurance you have, both emotionally, psychologically, and physical endurance. - teddy atlas
I have read my books by many lights, hoarding their beauty, their wit or wisdom against the dark days when I would have no book, nor a place to read. I have known hunger of the belly kind many times over, but I have known a worse hunger: the need to know and to learn - louis l'amour

After the war I went back to New York
A-After the war I went back to New York
I finished up my studies and I practiced law
I practiced law, Burr worked next door
Even though we started at the very same time Alexander Hamilton began to climb How to account for his rise to the top? Man, the man is Non-stop!
Gentlemen of the jury, I'm curious, bear with me Are you aware that we're making history? This is the first murder trial of our brand-new nation The liberty behind deliberation Non-stop!
I am meant to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt With my assistant counsel
Co-counsel. Hamilton, sit down Our client Levi Weeks is innocent, call your first witness That's all you had to say
Okay, one more thing—
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Soon that attitude may be your doom
Aww!
Why do you write like you're running out of time? Write day and night like you're running out of time Every day you fight like you're running out of time
Keep on fighting, in the meantime Non-stop!
Corruption's such an old song that we can sing along in harmony And nowhere is it stronger than in Albany This colony's economy's increasingly stalling And honestly, that's why (He's just) Public service seems to be (non-stop!) calling me
I practiced the law, practic'ly perfected it I've seen injustice in the world and I've corrected it Now for a strong central democracy If not, then I'll be Socrates Throwing verbal rocks at these mediocrities (Awww!)
Hamilton at the Constitutional Convention
I was chosen for the Constitutional Convention!
There as a New York junior delegate
Now what I'm gonna say may sound indelicate... (Awww!)
Goes and proposes his own form of government What?
His own plan for a new form of government What?
Talks for six hours, the convention is listless
Bright young man! Yo, who the eff is this?
Why do you always say what you believe? Why do you always say what you believe?
Every proclamation guarantees Free ammunition for your enemies (Awww!)
Why do you write like it's going out of style (goin out of style, hey) Write day and night like it's going out of style (goin out of style, hey) Every day you fight like it's going out of style Do you what you do
Alexander?
Aaron Burr, sir
Well, it's the middle of the night
Can we confer, sir?
Is this a legal matter?
Yes, and it's important to me
What do you need?
Burr, you're a better lawyer than me
Okay?
I know I talk too much, I'm abrasive You're incredible in court, you're succinct, persuasive My client needs a strong defence, you're the solution
Who's your client?
The new U.S. Constitution?
No
Hear me out—
No way!
A series of essays anonymously published Defending the document to the public
No one'll read it
I disagree!
And if it fails?
Burr, that's why we need it
The constitution's a mess!
So it needs amendments
It's full of contradictions!
So is independence We have to start somewhere
No, no, no, no, no, no way
You're making a mistake
Good night!
Hey! What are you waiting for? What do you stall for?
What?
We won the war, what was it all for? Do you support this constitution?
Of course
Then defend it!
And what if you're backing the wrong horse?
Burr, we studied and we fought and we killed For the notion of a nation we now get to build For once in your life take a stand with pride I don't understand how you stand to the side
I don't keep all my plans close to my chest
Wait for it, wait for it, wait
I won't wait here and see which
Way the wind will blow I'm taking my time watching the afterbirth of a nation Watching the tension grow
I am sailing off to London I am accompanied by someone who always pays I have found a wealthy husband Who will keep me in comfort for all my days He is not a lot of fun but There's no one who can match you for turn of phrase My Alexander—
Angelica
Don't forget to write
Look at where you are Look at where you started The fact that you're alive is a miracle Just stay alive, that would be enough And if your wife could share a fraction of your time If I could grant you peace of mind Would that be enough?
Alexander joins forces with James Madison and John Jay to write a series of essays Defending the new United States Constitution, entitled The Federalist Papers The plan was to write a total of twenty-five essays The work divided evenly among the three men In the end, they wrote eighty-five essays in the span of six months John Jay got sick after writing five James Madison wrote twenty-nine Hamilton wrote the other FIFTY-ONE!
How do you write like you're
Running out time Write day and night like you're
Running out time
Every day you fight like you're
Running out time
Like you're
Running out time
Are you running out time?
How do you write like tomorrow won't arrive? How do you write like you need it to survive? How do you write every second you're alive Every second you're alive Every second you're alive
They're asking me to lead I'm doing the best I can To get the people that I need I'm asking you to be my right hand man
Treasury or State?
I know it's a lot to ask—
Treasury or State?
To leave behind the world you know—
Sir, do you want me to run the Treasury or State Department?
Treasury
Let's go
Alexander!
I have to leave
Alexander!
Look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now
Helpless
They are asking me to lead
Look around, isn't this enough?
He will never be satisfied
Would it be enough?
He will never be satisfied
Satisfied, satisfied, satisfied
History has it's eyes on you
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room?
Look around, look around
Non-stop!
He will never be satisfied, satisfied, satisfied
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Soon that attitude may be your doom
Isn't this enough? Would it be enough?
History has it's eyes on you
Why do you write like you're running out of time?
Non-stop!
Why do you write like—
History has it's eyes on you!
I am not throwing away my shot!
Just you wait
I am not throwing away my shot!
Just you wait
I am Alexander Hamilton
Hamilton Just you wait
I am not throwing away my shot!

oh boy. can i just quote the entire song? no? ok... let's see (that's gonna be more than three tho):
gentlemen of the jury, i'm curious, bear with me, are you aware that we're making history? - ahshfvrekrkhk ok i may not have any explanation i just love it & it's so funny to me
hamilton, sit down
why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? soon that attitude may be your doom - i am thinking thoughts
why do you write like you're running out of time? - i mean this is just iconic, right?
i practiced the law, i practically perfected it, i've seen injustice in the world & i've corrected it, now for a strong central democracy if not, then i'll be socrates throwing verbal rocks at these mediocrities - oh my god how much i love the sound of all of it
my client needs a strong defense, you're the solution/who's your client?/the new u.s. constitution...? - the way i laughed when i heard it for the first time lol i love hammy so much
HAMILTON WROTE THE OTHER FIFTY-ONE!
ok you know what i'm gonna stop right there before i quote the entire song.
bonus 1: i actually want to give you lin's demo today because 1. it's so funny that he is singing the entire song alone & playing every character (just like me when i perform it in my room at 3am every night), & 2. you can actually hear the "who the FUCK is this", it's my religion:
youtube
#please don't mind me i just love it when he says fuck#plus his demos are always so funny#oh shit i can't believe we are at the end of act 1#let's fucking go i love this series so much#hamilton#your sentences left me defenseless*

I know it's a lot to ask—
Treasury or State?
To leave behind the world you know—
Sir, do you want me to run the Treasury or State Department?
Treasury
Let's go
Alexander!
I have to leave
Alexander!
Look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now
Helpless
They are asking me to lead
Look around, isn't this enough?
He will never be satisfied
Would it be enough?
He will never be satisfied
Satisfied, satisfied, satisfied
History has it's eyes on you
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room?
Look around, look around
Non-stop!
He will never be satisfied, satisfied, satisfied
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Soon that attitude may be your doom
Isn't this enough? Would it be enough?
History has it's eyes on you
Why do you write like you're running out of time?
Non-stop!
Why do you write like—
History has it's eyes on you!
I am not throwing away my shot!
Just you wait
I am not throwing away my shot!
Just you wait
I am Alexander Hamilton
Hamilton Just you wait
I am not throwing away my shot!

Hamilton lyric changes (or just changes in general) (feat me n my brother's s/is :p)
adding Oliver and Max to the "We fought with him" part (Alexander Hamilton)
Lafayette urging Oliver to join their little idk freestyling?? session only for her to shake her head and just watch + she says "Who are YOU???" at the same time as John (Burr, Sir)
again, Oliver doesn't sing for this part, but John recognizes her in his part by looking over at her during the "You and I; do or die," verse (My Shot)
in the majority of the songs they're together in, John ALWAYS has an armed tossed around Oliver's shoulders. so as they're all out of breath in the beginning of this song, he's got her leaning against him as he makes the toast to freedom, and acknowledges her more than once (Story of Tonight)
Alexander acknowledging Oliver when Washington makes him his right hand man "Ollie, Laurens, Mulligan, Marquis De Lafayette; okay what else?" (Right Hand Man)
you know that part where Angelica and Alexander look at each other for a bit at the ball? imagine that but also with Oliver and Eliza (Winter's Ball)
despite how she feels, Oliver stays sober (along with Alexander and Aaron) so she can watch over the boys as they always do,, mostly John, but the other two are drunk, too, so. (Story of Tonight Reprise)
Oliver staying behind with John to write stuff with him and Hamilton, but leaves just in time for Charles Lee's epic appearance (Stay Alive)
near the end of this song, John turns and sees Oliver with a look he knows all too well on her face and goes after her after she walks off stage, as everyone else chants "Meet him inside" (Ten Duel Commandments + Meet Me Inside)
during the war and some moments prior to it, Oliver, as lieutenant, and Alexander, as second in command, work really well together, and get along well,, but for this song? this song is their spiral downhill, as John was Oliver's childhood best friend- and her first friend upon coming to America, and was,, like, Alexander's lover. big part of their lives. so the foreshadowing in "We fought with him," is like Oliver saying she fought alongside Alexander during the war, but, after this song, she still helps him out with his political shit, but they're always at one anothers throats. the only times they can get along is whenever they're hating Jefferson. other than that? not even Eliza can get them in a room together properly outside of work anymore. (Laurens' Interlude)
hmmmmm methinks this of a kinda duet with Burr and Oliver,, "Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Soon, that attitude may be your doom." "Why do you always say what you believe? Every proclamation guarantees free ammunition for your enemies." (Non-Stop)
During the "I've been in Paris meetin' lots of different ladies" part, Max rolls his eyes as Jefferson says it, and when Jefferson winks at him afterwards, he shakes his head in exasperation and waves him off, prompting the other to laugh. and during "Sally, be a lamb, darling, won't you open it?" part, it's now Max instead of Sally, and he rolls his eyes but opens the letter and deadpans as Jefferson dances around him (What'd I Miss?)
(bonus: "Now who's waiting for us when we step in the place? Our friend, James Madison, red in the face!" as another change of lyrics for "What'd I Miss?" which acknowledges Max, too)
(my brother came up with this one) when Alexander says "Don't lecture us about the war, you didn't fight in it!" Max almost jumps in because he literally helped supply them the shit they needed while he was in France but Madison grabs his arm before he can push Jefferson to the side (Cabinet Battle #1)
When they're showing Phillip the pamphlet, Oliver gently gets Phillip away from all that, and while she's walking Phillip out she GLARES at Hamilton. because she gave up her hopes for having something with Elizabeth so that she could be happy with Alexander, only for him to have an affair. multiple times. in his own house. (The Reynolds Pamphlet)
(my brother came up with this one too :D) Oliver outlives everyone with Eliza, and helps to tell their stories,, im adding on that Max also outlives with them. Oliver mainly helps with speaking out against slavery, Max mainly helps with the orphanage, and all three of them interview the soldiers that fought at Alexander's side. Max dies first but it doesn't take Oliver long to follow, but as Max was to die at Oliver's side, Oliver dies at Eliza's side <3 (Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story)

On @keepthyfaithandthylight’s post on Farmer Refuted being Camille arguing with someone, myself and @idefilarate have been on and off rewriting songs from Hamilton to be about FRev, and thought I should post them here.
So! We haven’t been doing this in any order, and occasionally had to cut bits as they didn’t fit with the narrative, but it should still sound excellent. I’ll be posting these with the tag #Hamilton ReWrite: FRev Edition.
We start with a very Camille song - Nonstop!
Camille: After Aux Armes I went back to North Bank
Maxime: A-after all that I went back to North Bank
I finished up my studies and I practiced law
Camille: I began to write, Maxime worked next door
Maxime: Even though we started at the very same time
Camille Desmoulins began to climb
How to account for his rise to the top?
Man, the man is non-stop
Camille: Gentlemen of the jury, I'm curious, bear with me
Are you aware that we're making hist'ry?
This is the first murder trial of our brand-new nation
The liberty behind deliberation
I intend to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt
With my assistant counsel
Maxime: Co-counsel
Camille, sit down!
Our client is innocent
Call your first witness
That's all you had to say
Camille: Okay
One more thing–
Maxime: Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room?
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room?
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room?
Soon that attitude may be your doom!
Why do you write like you're running out of time?
Write day and night like you're running out of time?
Every day you fight, like you're running out of time
Keep on fighting, in the meantime-
Camille: Corruption's such an old song that we can sing
Along in harmony and nowhere is it stronger
Than in St Germaine
This country's economy's increasingly stalling and
Honestly that's why he's just public service seems
To be calling me
I practiced the law, I practically perfected it
I've seen injustice in the world and I've corrected it
Now for a strong central democracy
If not, then I'll be Socrates
Throwing verbal rocks at these mediocrities
Maxime: Camille, at the National Convention
Camille: I was chosen for the National Convention!
Maxime: There as a Cordeliers junior delegate
Camille: Now what I'm going to say may sound indelicate
Maxime: Goes and proposes his own form of government (What?)
His own plan for a new form of government (What?)
Talks for six hours, the convention is listless
Lafayette: Bright young man
Brissot: Yo, who the eff is this?
Maxime and Danton: Why do you always say what you believe?
Why do you always say what you believe?
Every proclamation guarantees
Free ammunition for your enemies (Awww!)
Why do you write like it's going out of style? (Hey)
Write day and night like it's going out of style? (Hey)
Every day you fight like it's going out of style
Do what you do
Maxime: Camille?
Camille: Maximilian, sir
Maxime: Well, it's the middle of the night
Camille: Can we confer, sir?
Maxime: Is this a legal matter?
Camille: Yes, and it's important to me
Maxime: What do you need?
Camille: Maxime, you're a better lawyer than me
Maxime: Okay
Camille: I know I talk too much, I'm abrasive
You're incredible in court
You're succinct, persuasive
My client needs a strong defense
You're the solution
Maxime: Who's your client?
Camille: The new Old Cordelier?
Maxime: No
Camille: Hear me out
Maxime: No way!
Camille: A series of essays, anonymously published
Defending the document to the public
Maxime: No one will read it
Camille: I disagree
Maxime: And if it fails?
Camille: Maxime, that's why we need it
Maxime: The meaning's a mess
Camille: So it needs amendments
Maxime: It's full of contradictions
Camille: So is independence
We have to start somewhere
Maxime. No, no way
Camille: You're making a mistake
Maxime: Good night
Camille: Hey
What are you waiting for?
What do you stall for? (What?)
We won the war
What was it all for?
Do you support this pamphlet?
Maxime: Of course
Camille: Then defend it
Maxime: And what if you're backing the wrong horse?
Camille: Maxime, we studied and we fought and we killed
For the notion of a nation we now get to build
For once in your life, take a stand with pride
I don't understand how you stand to the side
Maxime: I'll keep all my plans close to my chest
(Wait for it, wait for it, wait)
I'll wait here and see which way the wind will blow
I'm taking my time, watching the afterbirth of a nation
Watching the tension grow
Lucile: Look at where you are
Look at where you started
The fact that you're alive is a miracle
Just stay alive, that would be enough
And if your wife could share a fraction of your time
If I could grant you peace of mind
Would that be enough?
Maxime: Camille joins forces with George’s Danton
And Fabre D’Eglantine to write a series of essays
Defending the new Convention
Entitled Le Vieux Cordelier
The plan was to write a total of 25 essays
The work divided evenly among the three men
In the end, they wrote 85 essays
In the span of six months
Fabre got sick after writing five
Georges Danton wrote 29
Camille wrote the other 51
How do you write like you're running out of time? (Running out of time?)
Write day and night like you're running out of time? (Running out of time?)
Every day you fight, like you're running out of time
Like you're running out of time
Are you running out of time? Awwww!
How do you write like tomorrow won't arrive?
How do you write like you need it to survive?
How do you write every second you're alive?
Every second you're alive? Every second you're alive?
Danton: They're asking me to lead
I am doing the best I can
To get the people that I need
I'm asking you to be my right-hand man (Secretary or Accountant?)
I know it's a lot to ask (Secretary or Accountant?)
To leave behind the world you know
Camille: Sir, do you want me to be your Secretary or your accountant?
Danton: Secretary
Camille: Let's go!
Lucile: Camille
Camille: I have to leave
Lucile: Camille–
Camille: Look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now
Lucile: Helpless
All: They are asking me to lead
Look around, isn't this enough?
He never will be satisfied (What would be enough)
He will never be satisfied (To be satisfied)
Satisfied, satisfied
History has its eyes on you (Look around)
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room?
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? (Non-stop)
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? (Non-stop)
Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? (History has its eyes)
Why do you fight like you're running out of time? (Non-stop)
Why do you fight like
History has its eyes on you
Camille: I am not throwin' away my shot (Just you wait)
I am not throwin' away my shot (Just you wait)
I am Camille Desmoulins
Desmoulins, just you wait
I am not throwin' away my shot

Edward Nygma (Nashton) in Rogues! The Podcast makes me think of these specific lyrics from Non Stop from Hamilton.
"Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? (X3) Soon that attitude may be your doom"
But especially the first part of that.
Not that we really need to ask why Ed thinks that. We already know.
