Fright Knight sighs, running a clawed hand through his hair in an attempt to stop the flames from flickering into being. It had been far too long since he had taken a human-ish form. His human-ish form. Ugh. He didn’t exactly care for his human form after so long as a ghost, but needs must he supposed. 

Especially with the whole, we’re going to punch a backdoor into the literal daycare part of the Infinite Realms and be surprised when literal toddlers go exploring. 

Well, at least it got him off of guard duty for a bit, which was relieving. Not that he didn’t love the darkness, but it got boring in the shadow of his sword for literal centuries with nothing else happening. He was a warrior for Realm’s sake! Borderline an Ancient in both power and age! He wasn’t meant to stay so still for so long. 

So while ghostling wrangling wasn’t exactly in his area of expertise, he could definitely gather them back up to the Realms. And deal with the curs who had decided to attack literal babies. 

The Daycare area was already understaffed due to just how large it was, and the one in charge of this section had practically sobbed to the Council (In another world they would have been put on hold for a century in line for their concerns, and then more once a Sarcophagus was opened, but they had told the other ghosts in distress, causing others to let them go up in said line) how they were almost certain they had felt at least one core form Outside the realms thanks to the breach. 

Which had understandably put everyone at an uproar. 

So here he was slipping between shadows to do reconnaissance and take stock of if any Ghostlings had left the city. And gently scruffing those he comes across in exasperation because what are you doing, ghostling? Look at the mess, what would your caretaker say?

There have been several things in my everyday life that i have just, "decided to not let bother me". And that seemed to work really well for me. Like, well if i can't seem to change that then i guess i'll just accept the fact that i'm a person whose life is like that, and be at peace with it.

years later i'm finding out that while i thought i was not letting it bother me, what i was actually doing was ignoring that it was bothering me the whole time. And, wow, are those two things different.

started thinking again about wealthy people utilizing severance for pregnancy and childbirth, but then I went down the thought process of….severed drug rehabilitation centers for the elite.

drug use, especially cocaine/party drugs, are quite common with wealthy individuals, especially their trust fund kids.

imagine you’re a twenty something kid of a wealthy senator, and you’ve been partying too much, indulging too much…and you have the chance to be able to recover from drugs without any of the nitty gritty difficulties getting clean forces you through. you have a lot of money, prestige…….and lots of rehabs for the elite in the real world are built like spas, lucky places only people with money have access to.

imagine you’re the innie, the one whose entire existence is withdrawal and drug recovery. who is craving what you’ve never even had, nor even know about…the terrible, excruciating symptoms where your body is turning itself inside out, you’re shaking and nauseous, and you don’t know why. you have no choice but to endure this as your life, your every molecule is this.

there’s already a lot of dehumanization that comes with drug use, but this is quite actually as Literal as they can be.

especially if your outie ever relapses, because chances are good that they will (relapses are common in general, but when you factor in the idea that the outie’s pros outweigh the cons as they’ve never experienced withdrawal to the extent of the innie,,,,,), you’re right back to where you started. you’re feeling better, getting better, then the next thing you know you’re at the beginning of withdrawal again, and you just. have to do it.

and the severance procedure is even riskier than usual, as drug use already does so much damage to the brain as is…but adding in brain surgery and implantation of the chip? yeah. so they most likely need to use drug addicts as….well. guinea pigs. test subjects. lumon would probably recruit individuals from low income black and brown communities, also probably prisoners,,,,, “lesser” people to experiment on for the benefits of the predominantly white upper class….hm.

gifting the Frog some forbidden substances here though are we? true, it might only really affect cats... but, Fakey's a weird goop homunculus creature, he works quite differently than normal. did you know that, because of how easily his goopy body absorbs stuff, anything he eats or drinks will basically affect him instantly? and very strongly too, since his whole body takes it in, from smell to taste to substance. certain things like alcohol or cannabis can be quite risky to give.... you never know how he's going to act with that much stuff in his system.

but here is a special offering for the good boy!! a nice, very normal plant, maybe it'll be a good pizza topping! go on and take a sniff!! 😊

Cars are several tons of metal moving at very high speeds, even though they're such a normal part of every day life they can be very dangerous or deadly when not used consciously. When you have several tons of metal moving at high speeds it makes it safer for everyone if we know which direction it's about to go, as being aware where the car is about to go reduces accidents and pedestrian/cyclist getting struck by cars.

y'know if there's one thing i have to critique about season 2 of severance (and idk, this may just be the difference between binge-watching season 1 over about a week versus watching season 2 week by week over three months) it's that like...to me it feels like the writers came up with the Big Impact Moments(TM) first, and then sort of floundered with how to get their characters to the Big Moments (or alternatively, shoo out characters who aren't or can't be involved in said Big Moments) in a way that feels organic and diegetic

this seems most obvious to me with the birthing cabin subplot in the latest episode: you have this (fantastic!) image in your mind of cobel in flames and darkness, standing face-to-face with innie mark. great! but the whole process of getting mark (and devon) to that cabin then feels...idk, very contrived? i can mostly buy devon calling cobel in desperation (especially after finding her brother seizing on the floor after his basement brain surgery), but the deliberate lack of answers cobel gives them in their forest meeting -- and the fact that the three of them, what, wait in the woods together for eight hours until darkness falls? -- felt very much like a out-of-show parameter (i.e. "this scene Has To play out this way so we can get to the Big Moment we really wanna have") forcing itself into the context of the story, rather than something that makes intuitive sense within the world

you can also kind of see this with reghabi flitting in and out this season -- she Shows Up in front of mark's parked car in 2x03 because...she has to, for the plot and for the Big Moment of the episode (mark reintegrating, but not really reintegrating because we have to save that for other Big Moments like him getting flashes of helly/gemma). and when devon decides to call cobel -- which, again, i can MOSTLY buy given her character and what she knows -- reghabi exits stage left because...because! because reghabi doesn't Fit into the Big Moments that the writers have in mind. so she has to leave

idk, maybe if i were to go back and look at season 1 this would stick out to me too but at least there the progression from plot point to plot point and characters going from A to B (in terms of actual location as well as narrative arc) felt much more organic? maybe it was also easier for it to feel that way since the scope of the show (number of characters/subplots, locations, etc) was diminished then.

i also think that if the show had more episodes and more space to flesh out these arcs it would make everything feel less contrived -- again, this most recent episode felt like the worst offender in this regard just because it was so obvious that they were doing everything they could to wrap up almost every hanging plot thread (irving and burt, gretchen and dylan g, miss huang, etc) that doesn't involve mark (and by extension, helly and gemma). but that might also have been forced by out-of-show circumstances (rumors that john turturro may or may not come back for season 3, sarah bock presumably has to go to college LOL)

idk idk IDK WHAT I'M SAYING, like i'm still here for all of it and i am really enjoying the show's sense of those Big Moments, but the overall storytelling feels...clumsy, in places. that's all 🤷

Kaladin Stormblessed is taller than you think!

Ever since I figured this out I think about it at least twice a week

We all know that Kaladin is very tall, he is taller than most Alethi and they are truly very big. Not to mention he is listed as being 6'4'' in Rosharan feet (RF). Now, we don't have a confirmed conversion rate between RF and our Imperial system feet, but it has been confirmed that Shallan is 5'6'' in RF and 6' in Imperial (which on its own is a crazy fact) and if we do some math: 5'6" or 66 Rosharan inches = 6 ft That means 11 inches = 1 ft So basically now if we convert any Rosharan character's height into inches and then divide by 11 we get their height in Imperial Feet. Applying this to Kaladin's height gives us a whopping grand total of

6'10"

Now sadly there are not many other Stormlight character with 100% canon height mesurements that we can do this with, neither Adolin nor Dalinar have canon heights and Adolin is called both shorter than and the same height as his dad. Notably though, even with a few inches added from Shardplate, Adolin is not as tall as Kaladin. However you wanna guess who is taller than Kaladin? Numuhukumakiaki'aialunamor Rock is a few (Rosharan) inches taller than Kaladin making him squarely over 7ft tall.

And for all you fans of Rlain, Venli, Raboniel, or Leshwi: Warform Singers are usually about as tall as Kaladin, Envoyform is taller than tall alethi and even Stormform, Fannahn-im are tall among The Fused reaching even 7 RF tall, and most other Fused are at least at an Equal height with the Alethi.

EVERYBODY SHUT THE FUCK UP WE FOUND IRVINE (partially). WE'VE GOT A BOOT, SOCK AND SEVERED FOOT. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. There's only four pairs of hobnail boots on corpses up there, and we've already found two of them on Mallory's body, so this ones gotta be Irvine! I mean the sock literally still has his name on it ffs.

BUT HOLY SHIT WE FOUND IRVINE'S FOOT!!! THEY KNOW WHERE TO LOOK FOR THE REST OF HIM!!! AND THAT'S WHERE THE CAMERA IS, AND IF THAT FILM CAN BE DEVELOPED WE'VE GOT ANSWERS BABY!!!! Sure, maybe Mallory just accidentally dropped his wifes photo off a cliff and thats why it wasn't in his pocket anymore, the absence of a photo he meant to leave on the summit isn't solid proof that Mallory and Irvine reached the summit back in 1924 before their deaths. BUT THE CAMERA CAN PROVE IT, IF THE FILMS STILL GOOD LETS FUCKING GOOOO
