Father Charlie’s face is pale, his eyes wide with fear as the weight of what just happened begins to settle between you. The churchyard, once a sanctuary, now feels like a trap. You stand there, unable to move, your heart pounding in your ears.
“Megan—” you try to call out, your voice catching in your throat, but she’s already gone, disappearing into the shadows of the church.
Father Charlie turns to you, his hand trembling as he runs it through his hair. “This… this can’t get out. It’ll ruin everything,” he says, his voice breaking under the pressure. He paces, eyes darting toward the church doors as if expecting Megan to reappear any moment with a crowd of witnesses.
Your chest tightens. You know what’s at stakethe life you’ve both built within the church, the delicate balance of your roles, the unspoken rules you’ve crossed. There’s no undoing what’s been done.
“I didn’t mean—” you begin, but he cuts you off, stepping closer, his hands gripping your arms with desperate intensity.
“It’s not your fault,” he says, his voice urgent. “I should have never let it get this far. But Megan… she can’t know. No one can know.”
You nod, but the truth gnaws at you. This wasn’t just a fleeting moment of weakness. The kiss—the feelings behind it—have been building for longer than you want to admit. And now that the barrier has been broken, there’s no pretending you can go back to how things were.
“What if she tells?” you ask, your voice barely a whisper.
Father Charlie’s eyes meet yours, his face full of guilt and something else, something darker—a simmering fear. “I’ll talk to her. I’ll make sure she doesn’t say anything.”
The way he says it makes your stomach twist. You’ve never seen him like this, so cornered, so desperate. For a brief moment, you wonder if you’ve unleashed something in him that can’t be controlled.
“I have to fix this,” he mutters more to himself than to you, already starting to move toward the church, determination in his stride. “Go home. Don’t come back until I say it’s safe.”
You open your mouth to protest, but the look in his eyes stops you. There’s no room for discussion. The weight of your guilt, mingled with fear, presses heavy on your chest as you turn and leave, knowing that the fragile world you both clung to is about to shatter.
As you walk away from the church, the echoes of the kiss linger on your lips, but now they taste bitter—haunted by the knowledge that you’ve crossed a line you can never uncross. And Megan, with her watchful eyes, has seen it all.
The walk from the church feels impossibly long, every step weighed down by the suffocating pressure of what’s just transpired. The once-bright sky has dimmed into muted shades of twilight, the air thick with impending doom. You can feel the weight of it pressing against your chest, making it hard to breathe. The churchyard, so familiar and comforting just moments ago, now seems cold, distant—like it’s pushing you away.
You glance back once, just once, and catch sight of Charlie disappearing into the stone walls of the church. His movements are hurried, frantic, and it only makes the knot in your stomach tighten. You know he’s going to confront Megan. You know he’ll do everything in his power to convince her to stay silent, to protect both of you, but the seed of doubt has already taken root. What if she doesn’t listen? What if Megan has already spread word of what she saw?
The fear claws at your insides.
You replay the moment over and over in your mind—the kiss, the way his lips had pressed against yours with a hunger that had long been suppressed, the heat of his body against yours. It was more than a moment of weakness; it was the culmination of everything you had been hiding, everything you’d tried to bury under the weight of duty. You had always known there was something between you and Charlie, but you had told yourself it was nothing, that it could never be anything more than unspoken glances and the occasional brush of hands. But now, the truth is undeniable.
You love him.
And it terrifies you.
As you turn the corner, moving further away from the church and deeper into the quiet streets, you try to suppress the panic building inside you. You force yourself to breathe, slow and steady, even as the thought of what comes next twists and knots in your chest. Megan… she had seen everything. Her eyes, wide with shock and something close to betrayal, flashed in your mind like a warning. She would never understand. She couldn’t. To her, this wasn’t just a mistake or a lapse in judgment—it was blasphemy, a defilement of everything sacred.
You walk faster, as if the distance could somehow cleanse you of what just happened, but the weight of your sins follows you, heavy and unrelenting. By the time you reach your small, modest home, the last of the daylight is gone. The darkness feels fitting, like a cloak draped over the truth you’re so desperate to hide.
You fumble with the key, your hands trembling, and push open the door. Inside, the space feels too small, too confining. The walls close in around you, suffocating in their familiarity. You collapse onto the nearest chair, your mind racing, trying to make sense of what comes next.
You think of Megan again, the way she had slipped away so quickly, disappearing into the shadows like a ghost. What had she seen? How much had she heard? Would she go to the elders? To the congregation? Your stomach churns at the thought of everyone knowing, their judgmental eyes stripping you bare, seeing you for what you truly are—a sinner. You can already picture the looks, the whispers that would follow, the way they’d turn on you. And Charlie—God, what would happen to him? His role as a priest, his entire life, would be torn apart if this got out.
You can’t let that happen.
But no matter how much you try to focus, your thoughts keep pulling back to him. To the way he looked at you in those moments after Megan had fled. His face, pale with fear, but his eyes… they had been filled with something more than just panic. There had been a tenderness there, a quiet desperation, as if he had wanted to say something, to comfort you, but the words had been lost in the gravity of the situation. And now, the distance between you feels like a chasm, one that neither of you can cross until you know what Megan will do.
The hours stretch on in painful silence. You sit by the window, staring out into the night, your heart heavy with dread. Every sound, every rustle of wind, makes you jump, half-expecting someone to come knocking at your door, to drag you back to the church and expose your sin to the world. But no one comes. The night is as still as your breath, suspended in an unbearable waiting.
You wonder how Charlie is faring. Is he talking to Megan right now? Is he pleading with her, trying to make her understand? Or is it too late—has she already made up her mind? The uncertainty gnaws at you, each minute that passes feeling like an eternity.
The quiet is suddenly interrupted by a soft knock at the door. You freeze, your heart stopping for a beat, your blood running cold. For a moment, you can’t move, can’t breathe. Then, slowly, you rise from the chair, your body moving on instinct. You approach the door with trembling hands, every step echoing like a drumbeat in the stillness of the house.
When you open it, Charlie stands on the other side.
His face is pale, his eyes dark and sunken, as though he’s aged years in the span of a few hours. His expression is grim, but beneath the weariness, there’s something else—something raw, something desperate. He steps inside without a word, closing the door behind him, and the weight of everything that’s happened settles between you.
“What happened?” you ask, your voice barely a whisper.
For a long moment, he doesn’t speak. His hands are shaking, and you notice the way he clenches them into fists, trying to steady himself. “She’s not going to tell anyone,” he finally says, but his voice is hollow, and you know that’s not the whole story.
You take a step closer, searching his face for answers. “What did you say to her?”
Charlie’s eyes meet yours, and there’s a flicker of something dark in them—something you haven’t seen before. “I made sure she understood,” he says, but there’s no relief in his voice. No victory. Only guilt.
Your stomach tightens as his words sink in. You want to believe him, to trust that everything will be okay now, but the look in his eyes tells you that nothing will ever be the same. Not between you. Not between him and the church. And certainly not between him and Megan.
The silence stretches on, thick and heavy with unspoken truths, and you realize that whatever you thought you were protecting has already been lost. The kiss, the secret moments, the connection between you and Charlie—it’s all unraveling, piece by piece, and there’s no going back now.
You don’t know what he did. And you’re not sure you want to.
All you know is that something has shifted between you, and the fragile world you’ve built together is starting to crack.
“I… I couldn’t let her ruin this,” he says, his voice low and almost pleading. He takes a step closer, his hand reaching out to cup your face gently, his thumb brushing over your cheek as though he’s trying to memorize the feel of your skin beneath his fingertips. “You have no idea what you mean to me.”
You swallow hard, your heart thudding in your chest. There’s a rawness to his words, a vulnerability that you’ve never seen in him before, and it makes the knot in your throat tighten. “Charlie,” you whisper, your voice barely audible, but he shakes his head, cutting you off.
“No,” he says, his voice firmer now, more certain. “You need to hear this. I love you.” The words hang between you, heavy and full of meaning. His eyes search yours, as though he’s terrified of what your response might be, but at the same time, there’s a conviction in him that tells you he’s been holding onto this for far too long.
Your breath catches in your throat, and for a moment, the world falls away. The fear, the uncertainty, the guilt—it all fades into the background, and all that’s left is the truth. He loves you.
And God help you, you love him too.
“I love you, too,” you finally say, the words slipping out in a rush, like a dam breaking. The weight of them is staggering, but also freeing, as though admitting it has somehow lifted the burden from your chest.
Charlie’s eyes soften, and in that moment, the darkness, the fear, everything that’s been hanging over you both seems to dissolve, leaving only the two of you in this fragile, stolen moment.
He pulls you closer, his lips brushing against your forehead, then your temple, and finally, he presses a soft kiss to your lips. It’s tender, sweet, and laced with the kind of love that’s been simmering beneath the surface for far too long. For a few precious seconds, you allow yourself to get lost in him—the warmth of his body, the way his hands cradle your face like you’re something fragile and precious. There’s no guilt in this kiss, no shame. Just love.
But as sweet as it is, there’s still a bitter edge, the reminder of what’s been lost. The weight of what happened earlier, of Megan’s watchful eyes, lingers like a shadow over your joy. You pull back slightly, your heart aching as you search his face for reassurance.
“What are we going to do?” you ask, the question heavy with fear and uncertainty.
Charlie lets out a soft sigh, his hand still resting against your cheek. “I don’t know,” he admits quietly. “But we’ll figure it out. Together.”
The simplicity of his words settles over you, warm and comforting, but the reality of the situation isn’t so easily dismissed. You know the risks, the consequences that loom over both of you like a dark cloud, but right now, in this moment, with his arms wrapped around you, it feels like you can face anything.
He leans his forehead against yours, closing his eyes as though he’s savoring the closeness, the peace that you’ve found in each other, if only for this fleeting moment. “I don’t care what happens,” he whispers. “As long as I have you.”
Tears prick at the corners of your eyes, a mixture of happiness and sorrow, because you know that this love—the love you’ve both fought so hard to deny—is as beautiful as it is dangerous. The church, the life you’ve built, the faith that has defined you for so long—it all stands in opposition to what you feel for each other. And yet, here you are, standing on the precipice, ready to fall.
“I’m scared,” you admit softly, your voice trembling.
Charlie pulls you tighter against him, his breath warm against your skin. “So am I,” he confesses, his voice breaking just a little. “But I won’t lose you. Not now. Not ever.”
You stay like that for what feels like hours, wrapped in each other’s arms, finding solace in the quiet, in the shared heartbeat that thumps in time with your own. For once, it feels like you’re not fighting against the world, but standing together, ready to face whatever comes next.
But the bitterness still lingers, a quiet reminder that nothing about this is simple. The danger hasn’t passed, and Megan’s silence, though promised, may not last forever. You both know that this moment—this love—comes with a cost.
Still, for now, you allow yourself to hold on to the sweetness of it, to the warmth of his embrace, and the knowledge that whatever happens next, you won’t face it alone.
───
The bells toll, echoing through the towering walls of the old church, signaling the end of Sunday Mass. Parishioners, still murmuring prayers under their breath, make their way toward the grand double doors, their heads dipped in reverence. The air is thick with incense, mingling with the faint scent of candle wax, and the murmured conversations of the faithful filter out as they depart.
You stand by the altar, adjusting your habit, feeling the familiar weight of responsibility settle over you. It had been a week since the kiss—since Megan’s eyes had caught the forbidden moment. You and Father Charlie had been careful, the tension between you palpable but unspoken. There was no room for slip-ups now, not with what was at stake.
But just as you turn to head back toward the sacristy, you notice something that sends a chill through you. A group of clergy—men dressed in higher clerical vestments, their expressions stern and unyielding—are making their way toward the two of you. The archbishop, Father Lucian, leads them, his presence commanding and severe, a man of high standing in the church, second only to the bishop himself. Behind him are two more senior priests, Father Augustine and Monsignor Ramos, known for their strict adherence to church doctrine.
Charlie stands frozen for a moment, his usual calm demeanor stiffening as he recognizes the gravity of what’s about to happen. His eyes meet yours briefly, and in that split second, you both know. They know.
Father Lucian stops in front of you, his hands clasped behind his back. His face is impassive, but the weight of his gaze is suffocating, filled with judgment and a quiet, simmering disappointment. The silence stretches on, unbearable, until finally, he speaks.
“Father Charles,” Lucian’s voice is deep and resonant, cutting through the stillness like a blade. “Mother Y/N. We need to speak.”
Charlie straightens, his jaw set in that familiar stubborn way, but his eyes flicker with something darker—anger, perhaps, or fear. You step closer to him, your heart hammering in your chest.
“We’ve been made aware of certain… transgressions,” Father Lucian continues, his voice cold, deliberate. “Ones that go against the very foundation of your vows—vows of purity, of dedication to God and His teachings.”
Father Charlie’s hands tighten into fists at his sides, though he doesn’t say anything yet. His silence, however, feels like the calm before a storm.
“We’ve heard unsettling rumors,” Monsignor Ramos says, his voice carrying a softer, but no less menacing tone. “Of inappropriate closeness between the two of you. Intimacies that have no place within these sacred walls.”
Your stomach drops, the air around you suddenly feeling too thick, too stifling. The weight of their accusation presses against your chest, suffocating.
Father Augustine steps forward, his eyes sharp with accusation. “You both took vows before God,” he says, his voice unwavering. “To forsake earthly temptations for a higher calling. But what we’ve witnessed… it is not the first time such weakness has crept into the church. We cannot allow it to continue.”
You want to speak, to defend yourself, but your throat tightens, and words fail you. Beside you, Charlie’s breathing grows heavier, his anger barely contained.
“If you do not end this… affair immediately,” Father Lucian says, his voice dropping, “there will be consequences far worse than dismissal. You will not only lose your positions here, but you will face the eternal damnation of your souls. Your actions are not just a violation of church law but of God’s law. Do you understand?”
The implications hit you like a blow—hell. They’re threatening you with eternal punishment.
Father Charlie, who had remained silent until now, suddenly takes a step forward, his voice trembling with anger. “And who are you,” he says, his voice low but dangerous, “to tell us about the state of our souls?”
The senior clergy exchange glances, surprised at his defiance. But Charlie continues, his voice growing stronger. “Yes, we broke our vows. But this—what we feel—it's not some… sinful temptation. It’s love. And I won’t stand here and let you condemn us without knowing what’s in our hearts.”
Father Lucian’s eyes narrow, and for a moment, the tension is palpable. “Father Charles, you forget your place,” he says coldly. “This is not a matter of love. It is a matter of duty. Of obedience. You swore your life to God, not to your desires.”
“I didn’t swear my life to a prison,” Charlie snaps, his voice shaking with fury. “I swore my life to serve God, to care for people. But you—you’d rather see us as sinners than as human beings.”
“Father Charles,” Monsignor Ramos says, his voice hardening, “you are speaking out of turn.”
“No,” Charlie interrupts, turning to you, his hand reaching for yours without hesitation. “I’m speaking the truth. I won’t let you use God as a weapon to control us.”
Your hand grips his tightly, and despite the cold sweat trickling down your spine, you feel an odd sense of strength radiating from him. The threat of hellfire lingers in the air, but for the first time, it doesn’t feel so terrifying with him standing beside you.
Father Lucian’s gaze hardens, his lips thinning into a severe line. “This is your final warning. End this now, or face the consequences.”
Charlie stares back at him, unwavering. “I’d rather face hell,” he says softly, “than live a lie.”
The silence that follows is deafening, the weight of his words hanging between you and the clergy like a challenge. They stand, frozen for a moment, taken aback by his refusal. The unspoken threat remains—hell, ruin, the dismantling of everything you’ve both worked for.
But for the first time in a long time, you don’t feel afraid. You look at Charlie, his face set in defiance, and something inside you shifts. Maybe this is the beginning of the end, but it’s also the beginning of something else—something true, something worth fighting for.
The silence stretches unbearably in the cold churchyard, the tension thick as a storm building on the horizon. The senior clergy stare at Charlie, their expressions hard, almost disbelieving that he’s standing against them. Father Lucian’s eyes narrow further, but his voice remains steady, with a chilling authority.
“You are not beyond redemption,” he says, the words deliberate, cutting. “But defiance will not save you from the consequences of your actions. Think carefully before you decide to sacrifice everything—your calling, your salvation—for something so… fleeting.”
Charlie’s grip tightens around your hand. He doesn’t flinch, doesn’t back down. His next words, however quiet, carry an unshakable resolve. “I’ve already decided. I won’t live a life of half-truths. If that’s what it takes to serve God here, then I’ll find my own way.”
Father Augustine inhales sharply, looking between you and Charlie with something resembling disappointment—or perhaps disdain. “This will not go unpunished,” he mutters, his tone cold and unyielding. “There are consequences for every action, Father Charles. You’ve been warned.”
Without another word, the three clergymen turn on their heels and leave, their footsteps echoing ominously against the stone floor of the church. The weight of their warning lingers, even after they disappear into the distance.
You and Charlie stand there, unmoving, his hand still wrapped tightly around yours. The tension in his body slowly ebbs, though his grip remains firm, as if he’s grounding himself in this moment, in you. The sky above is clear, but there’s a storm brewing, one you can’t ignore any longer.
“Charlie…” you whisper, your voice barely audible over the quiet rustling of leaves in the courtyard. “What are we going to do?”
He exhales deeply, his shoulders dropping as he turns to face you fully. His eyes search yours, filled with the same mixture of love and uncertainty that’s been building between you since that night in the church. “I don’t know,” he admits, his voice softer now, the fire from before replaced with a gentle resignation. “But I know I can’t lose you. Not like this.”
You feel the same pull in your chest, the same conflicted desire that’s been tearing you apart. Everything you’ve built within the church, every vow you’ve taken—it’s all crumbling around you. But Charlie… he’s the one thing that still feels real, the one person you’ve come to rely on, to love in ways you never expected.
“I can’t lose you either,” you admit, your throat tight, emotions swirling in a confusing blur. “But they’re right… If we keep going like this, it won’t just be losing our positions. It’ll be worse.”
Charlie’s gaze darkens for a moment, as if weighing the enormity of it all. He steps closer, lifting his hand to gently cradle your face, his thumb brushing your cheek in a tender, almost reverent motion. “I know the risks,” he says, his voice steady, filled with an unshakable determination. “But the risk of not having you in my life… that’s worse.”
You close your eyes at his touch, leaning into the warmth of his hand. His words wrap around your heart, pulling you closer to the edge of something you can’t take back.
───
The decision had been made in a heartbeat, almost too quickly for either of you to process. One moment, you were standing in the courtyard, exchanging quiet promises of love and loyalty; the next, you were both packing your modest belongings in a small room that had been your sanctuary for years.
Charlie’s movements were hurried but deliberate, his usual calm demeanor now laced with an urgency that mirrored your own. You threw robes and personal items into a small bag, your heart pounding as the reality of your situation sank in.
“We can’t stay here,” he had said, his voice shaking with conviction. “Not after that. If we don’t leave now, they’ll find a way to tear us apart.”
You agreed, knowing deep down that the church, once a symbol of comfort and belonging, had become a prison. It wasn’t just Megan’s spying or the warnings from the senior clergy—it was everything. The suffocating weight of the vows, the whispered rumors, the constant feeling of being watched. You couldn’t breathe here anymore.
The room, usually filled with quiet prayer and reflection, was now buzzing with the frantic energy of departure. Charlie stopped for a moment, watching you from across the room. His eyes were dark, filled with an intensity you had rarely seen before. He came closer, brushing his hand across your cheek, tilting your chin so that you met his gaze.
“Are you sure about this?” he asked, his voice quieter now, more vulnerable. “We’re leaving everything behind.”
You nodded, heart pounding, but with a certainty that surprised even you. “I’m sure. I can’t stay here, Charlie. Not without you. Not like this.”
He pressed his forehead against yours, closing his eyes as if savoring the moment, as if holding on to this fragile piece of certainty before everything crumbled.
“We’ll be alright,” he whispered, his breath warm against your skin. “We’ll find a way. Together.”
You smiled, a bittersweet knot forming in your chest. The thought of leaving everything you’d known was terrifying—but the thought of staying, of pretending, of hiding this love… that was worse.
A knock at the door startled you both, and your heart leapt in your chest. You turned to the door, half expecting to see Father Lucian or another member of the clergy, ready to drag you back into the suffocating confines of the church’s judgment.
But it was Megan.
Her eyes were wide, but there was something softer in her gaze now—something you hadn’t seen before. She hesitated in the doorway, her hand lingering on the knob as she looked between you and Charlie.
“I—I heard,” she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. “You’re leaving?”
Charlie tensed beside you, but you took a step forward, your heart racing. “Megan… I know what you saw. I know what you think, but—”
She shook her head, cutting you off. “No. It’s not that. I—” Her voice faltered, and she took a deep breath, glancing at Charlie before continuing. “I’m not here to stop you. I just… I just wanted to say I understand. I don’t agree with it, but I understand why you’re doing this.”
You blinked, taken aback. Megan, the one who had spied on you, who had been so suspicious of your every move, was standing here, offering understanding. It felt surreal.
“I’m not going to tell anyone,” she added softly. “But if you’re really leaving, you need to go now. They’ll come looking for you.”
Charlie’s hand found yours, squeezing it tightly. You felt a rush of gratitude toward Megan, despite everything that had happened between you. Her warning, her silence—it was an unexpected act of kindness.
“Thank you,” you whispered, the words feeling heavy with meaning.
She nodded once, her eyes lingering on you for a moment longer before she turned and left, her footsteps echoing down the hallway.
You turned to Charlie, your breath catching in your throat. “It’s time.”
He nodded, his jaw set, determination burning in his eyes. “Let’s go.”
Together, you walked out of the room, leaving behind the life you had known, the vows you had once believed in, and the future you had thought was certain. The church, once towering and holy, now felt like a distant memory as you stepped into the world beyond its gates.
You didn’t know what would come next—where you would go or what you would do—but with Charlie by your side, the fear didn’t seem quite as overwhelming. You had each other. And for now, that was enough.
EPILOGUE
The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm golden glow across the rolling hills and fields that stretched beyond your front porch. The house you now called home sat nestled against a small grove of trees, a place you’d never imagined, yet somehow felt destined to find.
A soft breeze rustled through the open windows, carrying with it the distant laughter of children playing in the yard. You smiled, leaning against the wooden railing as you watched them—a picture of the life you had once dreamed of, now fully realized.
Two little girls, their dark curls bouncing in the breeze, were chasing after their younger brother, their giggles filling the air. They were so full of energy, so full of life. The kind of life you had longed for back when everything felt so suffocating, back when the idea of having a family seemed distant and impossible.
Behind you, the front door creaked open, and Charlie stepped out, two mugs of tea in his hands. His face, though older and more weathered now, still held that same softness that had always drawn you to him. He passed you a cup and wrapped an arm around your waist, his chin resting on your shoulder as he watched the scene unfold before you.
You smiled, leaning into him, your heart swelling with contentment. This was the dream you had once shared with him, whispered between kisses when the future seemed so uncertain. But now, here it was—tangible, real. Your two daughters, as spirited and wild as you had imagined, and your son, a bundle of mischief with Charlie’s inquisitive nature.
You stood there in comfortable silence, watching as your eldest, a curious seven-year-old, tried to corral her younger siblings with all the seriousness of someone far beyond her years. The younger girl, barely five, kept bursting into fits of giggles, while your three-year-old son—always a handful—tumbled into the grass, quickly distracted by the dogs.
It was a far cry from the life you had left behind, from the cold stone walls of the church and the whispers of judgment. You had built this life together—away from the suffocating expectations, the prying eyes, and the fear. Out here, in this open space, you were free to be who you truly were, without shame, without fear of punishment.
Charlie turned his head slightly, brushing his lips against your cheek. “You’re happy?”
You looked up at him, your heart swelling with so much love it almost hurt. “I am,” you whispered, reaching up to touch his face. “I really am.”
He smiled, his eyes softening in the way they always did when he looked at you—filled with a love that had only grown stronger over the years. You still had your moments of doubt, of course—those nights when the past crept in, when the memory of everything you’d left behind tugged at your mind. But then you would look at him, at the children you had brought into the world, and it would all disappear.
Charlie pulled you closer, his arms wrapping around you as the children’s laughter echoed through the evening air. The weight of the past had faded into something distant, something that didn’t define you anymore.
This was your future now—a family, a home filled with love and laughter. You had chosen this life, together, and it was better than any dream you had ever dared to hope for.
As the sun dipped lower, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, your eldest daughter ran up to you, her cheeks flushed with excitement. “Mama! Look what we found!”
She held up a small flower she had picked from the yard, and you crouched down to examine it, your heart swelling with pride at her joy over such a simple thing.
“It’s beautiful,” you told her, smoothing back a stray curl from her face.
She beamed, darting off again to join her siblings, and you stood back up, feeling Charlie’s presence beside you, steady and strong.
“Two daughters, a son, and two dogs,” he repeated softly, his voice filled with that same awe he always carried when he talked about your family. “You’ve always had the best dreams.”
You leaned into him, your fingers intertwined, as the last light of the day faded. “And you’ve always made them come true.”

the hostility he held towards you, he should’ve warded you away. yet you kept coming back. talking to him all buddy buddy.. it was admirable from the eyes of others. if he would’ve known better he would think you saw him as a large house cat (you do). well guess what, he ain’t.
at the start, he thought of you as nothing but a huge nuisance and thorn in his side in this already bothersome school. but after seeing your courageous news during azul’s overblot, he’s got a newfound respect for ya.
everything was fine from then. you’d bother him occasionally, and he’d allow you to bask in his presence. what? did you expect something else? well you’re wrong. but these moments have kickstarted some brand new fantasies for our beloved prince to indulge in.
it started off normally, he’s napping peacefully as you read a book next to him, giving him an occasional glance or two before focusing on the piece of literature in your hands. as we know, dreams can range in a wide variety of things. some can be absolutely blissful, some are really random, and others are just straight up nightmares!!
now, leona had no idea where to classify this one.
he walks into his room after finishing some duties concerning the kingdoms wellbeing.. being king is no easy task. “back already? that was quick.” your voice rang in his ears as he tossed the choking royal garbs to the side, making way to curl up in your lap. “can’t stand these people..” he murmured into your stomach, making you smile. you play with his hair, making an occasional braid or two before pausing. “hmph, why’d ya stop?” you lift his chin, looking him in the eyes. “i’m helping you de-stress.” suddenly, he feels pulled closer to your face, your lips barely ghosting each other til finally—
leona sits up quickly in a sweat, startling you as he emerged from the ground. what the fuuuucckkkk was that????? “ah, leona? are you okay?” you ask, concerned as to how quick he was to wake up. usually it’d take 10 minutes to get him out of a daze! fine.” he grunts, getting up and walking towards the mirror hall.
“uhh, where ya going?” no response. he seemed grumpy, but you had no idea why. did you do something? nahhh, probably just typical leona. ..right?
you’ve noticed he’s been avoiding you a lot more lately. he will not respond when you say hi to him in the halls, will just up and leave if you see him in the botanical gardens, and will walk in the opposite direction of you just so you don’t have to cross paths.
now you’re concerned. was he mad at you? to put it simply, yes and no. yes because why are you occurring in his dreams???? are you crazy???? smh. get out. he’s the one dreaming but ok
yet no because, he’s no fool. he knows when he’s in love and unfortunately for him, this is love. you don’t understand how much he’s tossing and turning in his room because literally every gap in his head is filled up with thoughts of you, how much this aggravates him because he can’t get adequate amounts of sleep anymore. your fault!!!
he wanted to avoid you like the plague for at least a month to let these feelings wash over, but to no avail. someone just kill him and bury the body he’s hopeless. he cannot wait to be found six feet underground because feeling like this for a magicless human was the last thing he wanted.
that’s it, he’s never gonna tell ya. ever. just him and his thoughts. yep. mhm. yeah.. you’d look really nice in formal attire—AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
he wants to scream but the best he can do is make a cringing face. how the hell do you make him so sappy??? this love stuff stinks… how could you do this to him?

🐬┊JADE LEECH
“one spark, you jump my heart and i feel it beating faster. yeah, it’s too late, im not ashamed.”
ah, love. something jade believed he’d never experience.
from the moment his eyes met yours, he’s always felt a twisting feeling in his chest. how peculiar.. to be fair, from afar you were quite bland to him. just another pawn and source of intel.
but then word began to get out you stopped two overblots, catching his interest. really? a magicless human? now he’s just dying to meet you.. and thank the seven he did. you had him the moment you spoke, your voice causing his heartbeat to speed up rapidly.
after azul’s overblot, though? jade is nothing but head over heels for you. without shame. he’s practically glued to your side, walking you to and from classes almost every day without fail, somehow always being your waiter whenever you ate at the mostro lounge, always having a hand on your back or shoulder.. huh.
it’s clear to anyone with half a brain that the leech twin definitely saw you more than merchandise, making them even more afraid to speak with you! whenever you were jade was like 2 feet behind.
only recently have you started to notice this. so, you’ll do what any normal person would do. ask him about it!
“hey, jade.” the eel-mer looks at you, an eyebrow raised with a polite smile. “is something the matter, prefect?” he asks, his demeanor the same as ever. “just wondering, but why’re you always around me? im not annoyed or anything! just.. just curious.” you stated quite bluntly, catching the boy off guard.
you could’ve sworn you saw him freeze with eyes wide, but the ability he has to rebuild his facade was impeccable. he pretends to think about it holding his chin before chuckling. “i suppose.. i just enjoy your company.” he smiles as you suddenly feel like an arrow was shot riiigghhttt through your heart.
“haha, really?” you laugh nervously, feeling the heat in your face flush to your cheeks as he stared you down with glee. before jade was able to respond, he was cut off by the sudden sincerity in your voice. “i enjoy your company too, jade.” you smile back at him, a sudden awkward silence falling before you.
“a-anyway, this is my class! gotta go! bye!” running inside the classroom, you try to hide the very obvious warmth in your face with your hands. THAT WAS SO CRINGE. IM FUCKED IM FUCKED IM FUCKED IM FUCKED. AAAGAGAGBABABAHAHAHAHAHA
this moment is going to haunt you for the rest of your life, you just know it. while you were dealing with the repercussions of the exchange, jade was in absolute heaven right now. his heartbeat was at an all time high, feeling nothing but sheer joy. falling for you was never his intention, but thank the seven he did.
the day passes by swiftly, nothing too out of the ordinary. as jade walks back to his dorm room, he flops onto his mattress face first into the pillows. an annoyed floyd looks at him with a disgusted expression, wishing this didn’t happen almost every day.
“yer so sappy, yknow that jade?” he grumbles, tossing a pillow at him with force. jade didnt care. it was worth it. all of it was worth it. falling in love with you was the best accident he’s ever made.

🐍┊JAMIL VIPER
“i’ll never see it coming but i know we’ll crash, cause when we’re with each other, yeah, we move too fast.”
kill him kill him kill him kill him kill him kill hi
those were the thoughts racing through jamil’s mind as you somehow convinced him to ride the magic carpet with you. what was he thinking??? he knows something is going to go terribly wrong whenever he’s with you.
not because of you (he hopes), but because of him! he’s a man who’s very meticulous about his work, making sure it’s done to absolute perfection. now, add you into the mix. it throws him horribly off.
when jamil first met you, he didn’t think much of it. you were a magicless human from another world. impressive that may be, that’s all you are. no major threat to kalim, so he’ll leave you be. then came the overblots.. you seemed more valuable than he originally thought.
then came his overblot. in all honesty, he hated you after that. or he thought he did. he always felt this burning sensation in his chest and this inexplainable image of you in his head nagging at him at any free chance he got! then came the scenarios.. domestic moments like brushing his hair, waking up next to each other, cooking meals for each other..
then he realized he fell into the deep end and fell in love with you. shit.
you treated him with such kindness! how didn’t he fall in love with you?? everything’s making his head hurt. the world must be upside down.
hearing kalim sing constant praise was nothing out of the ordinary, something he’s already grown used to and learned to despise. you on the other hand, your compliments send him to different universes. he swear fireworks get lit whenever you open your mouth and just explode all around him.
jamil’s behavior around you was a fairly noticeable difference to those close with him. he stuttered over his words, was a bit more expressive, and had a specific tone in his voice that seemed to be reserved for you. however, the most notable difference that almost anyone can see was the fact that THE jamil viper made a lot more accidents.
he seemed to embarrass himself every time he’s with you, but thank god you just shrug it off like nothing. screwing up was not something jamil EVER did before.. why must you ruin him like this? and these moments seem to just speed by, making it all seem like one huge fever dream that he just happens to remember. he hates it!
now, back to the present moment. he watches you sit onto the magic carpet, feeling the cold breeze in your hair due to the fact scarabia is much chillier during the night. he stares at you from the balcony, seeing as you turned back to smile at him. “you coming” you ask, watching him hesitate. “m-maybe i shouldn’t.. i must tend to kalim and—“
“do you trust me?” you ask, holding your hand out to him. he looks at you, taken aback by your sudden question. “what?” “do you trust me?” you repeat, a stern tone in your voice as you looked down at him with a certain gleam in your eyes that he just cannot resist. “..yes?”
jamil grabs your hand, pulling himself onto the carpet. the warmth from his palms spread throughout your entire body, suddenly regulating the your internal temperature. as you both kneeled on the carpet, your eyes met, staring into each other intensely. his hand subconsciously squeezes yours, holding to them for dear life, not wanting to let go.
while this was insanely romantic to you both, from outside perspective, it just looks like this 🧍‍♂️🧍
“ah, jamil, you’re squeezing my hand.” you laugh nervously, watching as the heat rises to his cheeks. “s-sorry. now then, shall we?” he clears his throat, sitting down properly before looking at you with a small smile. you can’t help but reciprocate, flashing him a grin before taking his hand again. “of course.”
before the carpet can take off into the clouds, cheering can be heard from inside scarabia halls.
it seemed kalim had a little.. arrangement for the both of you. jamil pulls his hood over his face in embarrassment as the carpet flies towards the glittering sky of stars, something both you and jamil can enjoy together.
Tumblr media
A/N: jamil bias is EVIDENT (I kinda sorta didn’t go with the song that much and got carried away oopsies)

I take time with the ones I choose | Spencer Reid x Reader
In which reader is jealous of Spencer after he kissed Lila on the pool
fluff, with a hint of angst but not really
Content: Jealousy, the tiniest bit of pet names, light swearing, munch & flirty Spencer bc we all know he can be that if he wants to <3
---------
You were finally back at the BAU, replaying details of this night as you anxiously worked on your paperwork, the whole team besides Spencer had gone already, and you cannot wait to get back home.
The team had finally caught the unsub that was stalking the actress Lila Archer. The stalker had showed up at the house Lila and Spencer were, which was supposed to be a safe house, but she somehow found where they were. You had stayed back at the precinct and, when you got back to the house they were at, you found out through Elle and the large amount of photos the stalker had taken that they had kissed, in her pool. Your heart dropped when you saw them, and you had become quieter since then.
You were jealous, there was no denying of it. But it was not just unfounded jealousy. You and Spencer had been friends since you joined the team and you two had always flirted with each other jokingly in the beginning but, with time, it started to feel like it was only a matter of time and taking the initiative before you two got together. Or so you thought.
What saddened you, wasn't entirely on the fact he had kissed her, but how fast it was. You had accepted the "slow burn" with him, years of back and forth flirting that you could swear was going somewhere. But now, when in the matter of in less of a day, he already kissed a girl he had just met? The only resolution you could find was that he might just not be into you.
"Hey, are you feeling ok?" Spencer says, standing next to your desk, his voice suddenly pushing you out of your thoughts.
"Hi, yeah I'm great, just tired" You say, giving him a small smile and trying your best to sound convincing
"I know you're lying, I'm a profiler and, your best friend for 5 years"
"Yeah, maybe that's the fucking problem" You lash at him, words coming out of your mouth before you could stop yourself. The instant regret hits you
"What? What do you mean by the problem" He says, his face with an expression mixed between confused and worried about you
You take a deep breath before answering, trying to decide between making up a stupid excuse to get out of this conversation or finally telling him the whole truth. You decide to go for the latter.
"You know what, for a genius you're really oblivious sometimes, or maybe all those pet names you call me, and the hugs and the late nights at your house watching movies were all platonic and I got it all wrong. You know what, forget it, it's not your fault, I'm the one who's stupid for thinking something was going on. Sorry"
"Oh my god, I can't believe that you are jealous" He says, smiling now
"Yes, of course I'm jealous! Maybe after years of flirting with me, and not doing anything else I thought 'oh, maybe it takes him sometime to get there!' but then, you decided to kiss a girl you met a few hours before." You say, not wanting to overreact, but god, the fact he's so clueless about that just angers you.
"Oh honey, I had no idea you felt like this" He says, getting closer to you and placing a hand on your waist
"See, this is exactly the problem! You act like this" You say gesticulating between the two of you, "What the hell are we? I need to know, I can't keep acting like I'm fine with just being friends and I certainly can't keep seeing you kissing other girls, as dumb as it sounds "
"Remember that time a cop was flirting with you and I accidentally dropped coffee on him?"
"Yeah, what about it"
"It wasn't an accident, I just hated seeing you laugh at his stupid jokes. My point is, of course I feel the same towards you, I have to really force myself to not go ranting at every cop and detective that thinks they're good enough for you"
Hearing him say that, loud and clear, made your heart flutter, but still did not get why it took you freaking out for him to say something.
"Then, why have you never even asked me out"
"I don't know, I was just taking my time with you… with us. I really do care for you, I guess I was just making sure we did things right"
"I hate you, Spencer. You don't even let me get angry at you before you come in with a totally reasonable response. That's just no fun" You look up, jokingly rolling your eyes at him, pretending to be annoyed.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Should I remove my confession to you right now?"
"Don't you dare do that" You say, closing the space between you two and kissing him. He holds you closer, wrapping his arms around you and deepening the kiss, he smiles against your lips, wrapping his arms around you to pull you closer. You both stay in that position for a few moments, enjoying the moment. You pull away, looking into his eyes.
"So… Can I take you to dinner this Sunday?" He says, breaking the silence between you two
"I really thought you would never ask" Both of you laughing as he pulls you into another kiss

Bonding: Damian Wayne x sister!reader
Tumblr media
Request: from the prompt list : 4: "Didn't know you liked being pinned to the ground this much
Warning: nothing, it;s just fun and fluff, most likely set in the WFA universe.
***
„What happened to you two?” Dick could barely hold back the terror in his voice upon watching his younger siblings. Jason however was not so considerate and  straight forward started laughing at Y/N and Damian, the former with the nose swollen and red like a Rudolf and the latter with childish patches all over his forearms.
“Have you two escaped the circus? Sure as hell with such look you would fit there!” he let out a laugh so loud it captured the attention of no one else than Bruce, who became alerted in an instant. It wasn’t usual for Jason to be this happy and chuckling and it was …. suspicious.
Similar to Dick’s, his face dropped upon seeing his kids in such damaged state and just sighed deeply.
“What did you do?” he rubbed his forehead, looking up to the sky probably wondering what mistake did he make (well, the question should have been – what mistake didn’t he make?). Never before had he looked so fatherly, like when Y/N and Damian started their mischief.
Y/N was the middle child, younger than Dick and Jason, but older than Tim and Damian, but Bruce could swear that sometimes she acted like a literal five year old. Especially when any of her brothers started messing up with her things. Especially when Damian did. No one could ever tell what atrocities she could resort to when he grabbed something that wasn’t his.
“It was all his fault!” Y/N cried out, her voice muffled by the swollen nose and she sounded more like a wounded animal rather than a human being.
“I am beyond your level, Y/N and cannot be blamed for…..”
“SIT!” Bruce growled in desperation, but neither of his kids listened. If anything they started bantering even more.
“Not many parental successes on your account, right Bruce?” Jason mocked, but the oldest Wayne didn’t bother answering. Instead he grabbed Damian by the collar and yanked him back and in the air so his feet started dangling above the ground. Luckily Y/N was too tall to do that to her as well.
“This is derogatory” Damian crossed his arms and pouted, the funniest look of her brother making Y/N laugh loudly “put me down, father so I can kick her ass again and….”
“Again?” Bruce eyes focused on his youngest son “what do you mean, again?”
“Nothing!” Y/N chimed in, desperate to keep some kind of secret
“Oh, are you ashamed to admit you got beaten by me in the combat, dear sister?”
“Shut up you little rascal!” Y/N threw herself at him, but this time it was Dick who grabbed her and hold her back
“What did he do?” Grayson asked, knowing well enough how much of a menace Damian could be
“NOTHING!” the boy struggled against his father’s grip
“Who’s afraid to admit what now?!” Y/N smirked at him.
“Ok, that’s it” clearly it was Jason who lost patience first “talk or I’ll draw blood.”
“You wouldn’t dare.” His sister threw him a daring gaze
“Wanna try me, sis? You already got a swollen nose and I can bet that this guy you like…..”
“SHUT UP JASON!”
“wait, there’s a guy?” Bruce was confused “who is he? Why didn’t I met him? How much does he know about us?”
“Not the time, Bruce!”
“LET ME GO DICK!!”
“Sorry, sunshine can’t really do that. Unless you tell us what happened.”
“fine!” she hissed “fine! I’ll tell you!”
“DAMIAN WAYNE!”  her voice echoed through the whole Wayne Manor and made the glassed windows shake. Honestly, how could no one in the family of vigilante hear that was beyond her. “you little piece of shit, where the hell are you!?”
“Have you called me sister?” Damian emerged from his room, looking nothing but innocent with the play-pretend smile. But Y/N knew better. She was fairly aware that he was skillful in using that Wayne gene trying to charm people. Too bad his eyes were glistening with mischief.
“You can’t play me, you demon.”
“Did something happened?” he titled his head in curiosity, observing his sister getting more and more angry. Oh, how entertaining it was to see her face get red, her fist clench. Fascinating how girl’s hormones worked.
But clearly, he underestimated Y/N. Yes, she was an emotional young woman surrounded by no less than four brothers, but she was also an adopted Wayne. And the realization of that fact made her calm down. Damian wanted her to get mad. Which meant he had some sort of plan.
“My little, sweet, wonderful, lovely brother.” She quickly changed the method of acting
“Huh?” Damian frowned, still not used to people acting nice towards him. This was…. unexpected. Y/N was clearly cunning and he had to be prepared.
“Tell me, did you happen to see my phone somewhere around?”
“No.” the answer was clearly too fast to be convincing.
“Really?” she smiled and looked over his shoulder inside his room. The perks of being taller and seeing more. “Then what is lying there on your desk?”
“That’s mine.”
“Damian…..” her voice became serious, her posture tensing “give it back to me. Now.”
“No.” he crossed arms, mimicking her position. Oh, they were both preparing for a fight, neither even beginning to consider the option of relenting. “does father know about your little crush?”
“YOU WERE READING MY TEXTS?!!?”
“Do you even realize in how much danger you put us because of your silly little….”
“AH!!” he did not get to finish the sentence when she went at him taking him by surprise. However, not enough of a surprise that he didn’t manage to step back. Instead of pining him to the ground she tripped and dashed into his room, immediately reaching towards the bed to grab her mobile, but Damian grabbed her arm and yanked her back.
“You little rascal!” she yelled, when they started a real Batman-style fight. “It’s mine!”
“it’s a violation of the rules!” he spat back “we’re not supposed to be in a relationship with civilians!”
“what would you know about relationships?!” Y/N blocked his punch, turning around and tripping him up. “you were raised by freaking assassins!”
“How bad we don’t get to choose family, right?” he hissed, falling on his back on the ground but immediately getting up and attacking her again.
Y/N was good, skilled and intuitive, but Damian was smaller and maybe a bit faster and that’s why she did not see it coming when he glanced off the mattress and landed on her back, trying to tackle her to the ground
“GET OFF ME!” she yelled trying to untangle his arms from her neck
“Not a chance!”
They were struggling so hard that at one point this fight moved towards the corridor and with just one wrong step they started falling down the stairs, still doing their best to damage one another. Damian was pulling at Y/N hair, while she covered his eyes in an attempt to blind him. It took a few minutes of weltering, grunting and dapping before they ended up at the base of the stairs.
“Auch…..” they both moaned in unison, their bones and bones already bruised and damaged. It really did hurt.
“HAHA! I won!” Damian yelled as he realized that the position in which they landed allowed him to sit on top of her sister, his weight holding her down.
“Get off me you idiot…..” she whined trying to push him away, but not succeeding at all.
“Didn't know you liked being pinned to the ground this much, Y/N” Damian laughed at her poor, week attempt to get rid of him.
“AH!” she cried out again and started waving her hands at him, Damian instantly started the same and now they were laying on the floor, with him still on top of her, acting like toddlers and emitting battle cries.
“MASTER DAMIAN! MISS Y/N!”
Shit.
Alfred.
The butler just sighed deeply, too used to many very strange views and behaviors around the manor. Too many to care and ask questions.
“Please get up from the floor. Miss Y/N, your nose is bleeding and as for you, Master Damian you got bloody scratches all over your arms.”
“Sorry Alfred.” They followed every word Alfred said to them and stood beside him with their heads hanging low.
“Let’s patch you two up.” Alfred motioned them towards the living room, gathering medical supplied on the way.
Now.
“And he gave you a animal shaped patch!” Jason laughed so hard he had to grab his belly, almost rolling of the couch
“Didn’t you hear a word, Jace? He took her phone! She had every right to be angry and act irrational…” Dick took his sister’s site
“Hm.” Bruce grunted
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but good job on being stealthy” Jason chucked towards Damian “normally it would be Tim to try and do such thing.”
“Are you taking his side now?” Y/N’s eyes went wide “I can’t believe….. ah!” sudden outburst made her nose bleed even more and she held the nearby cloth tighter to the bruised part of her face. “mhmmmhmhm” she mumbled grumpily
“Hm” Bruce grunted again
“Aren’t you gonna say something?” Dick turned towards his father in a bit of shock. Normally Bruce would be the one to punish them  both for disobeying the rules of the Manor but now he was just sitting on the couch, his mind wondering elsewhere.
“no.”
“What?!” four pair of surprised eyes landed on him in pure disbelief of how he acted.
“Wouldn’t make any difference. Another day another fight. Just…. apologize to each other. I’m going to the batcave. Dick, Jason come with me.”
“The hell I’m going to ….” Jason started but the look in Bruce eyes made him relent. And that was how Y/N and Damian ended up alone in the living room, sitting next to each other, eyes on the floor.
“Does it hurt much?” he asked
“Not much more than yesterday. I’ll be fine. “ she shrugged like nothing happened  “Do you think they know?”
“About what? Our secret plan to make them all crazy and take over the manor?”
“Pretty much, yes.”
“Not sure. Might need some more observation on the matter.”
“So….. we do it again tomorrow?” she smirked
“Oh, absolutely” he smiled back at her, eyes sparkling. It was always fun to fight with her.
“Then can I have my phone back?”
“Sure, I’ve seen all there was to see. “
“I hate you, Damian.” Y/N grinned looking at him
“I hate you too, sis.” He replied with a smirk
And just like that, they bumped their fists. All was good between them.
****
Meanwhile, Tim was hidden in the batcave, glued to the computer, not realizing anything of the events happening upstairs. He only raised his head once he heard Bruce, Dick and Jason entering.
“Did they do it again?” he asked seeing Bruce’s harrowed face, being enough of an answer “Ha! Life never gets boring with those two troublemakers around!”

Hey, there! I have a BoB headcanons request that is a bit angsty/heavy so if you don’t feel like doing it, I completely understand! I was just wondering how the easy boys would go about trying to comfort a reader with guilt/trauma from either killing a German soldier (like Winters when he shoots that one SS soldier) or not being able to save a fellow soldier if you’d like to go the nurse route. I’d just love some Winters and Eugene comfort!! Thank you!🫶
Heyyy so sorry for the slow reply!! Thank you, this is such a good request!!! I’ve combined both your ideas for the diff guys- I hope you enjoy!
Tw - talks of death, guilt, trauma, ptsd, war, etc.
BoB Headcanons - How they comfort you
Tumblr media
Eugene Roe:
As a fellow medic, Gene understands completely what you’re doing when you start shutting yourself away.
After leaving Bastogne you didn’t actually think things could get much worse, but when you lose Jackson in the dingy basement in the middle of Haguenau - let’s just say you don’t take it well.
“It woulda’ happened anyway… it’s not your fault.” Gene would remind.
You’d sigh with a heavy heart and attempt to leave any kind of confrontation.
“Gene you weren’t the one assigned to take care of them. He died under my watch, I didn’t do good enough.”
Not only are you heavily burdened by Jackson’s death, but you’re also exhausted and cold and hungry. Gene at first would watch from afar with a furrow between his brow until enough was enough and he confronted you.
He’d find a way to pull you back in, he’d wrap blankets around your shoulders when you’re just sat staring into space. Or he’d force Hershey bars into your pocket, practically begging you to eat.
“It’s my fault.” You’d tell him.
Gene just takes the honest route, he knows that’s better than blatantly trying to soften the blow with anything else.
“Jackson woulda died anyway. I saw what happened and… you could’ve tried everything n’ he wouldn’t have made it…”
If you need him to go into technical medical talk he would. He’d do anything, he’s the type of guy to sit talking with you for hours.
Huge empathetic so cannot stand the idea of you being troubled by this or taking the blame.
If the two of you aren’t already together then he’s a little more careful to not overstep boundaries, but he 1000% keeps the blanket wrapped over your shoulders in place by holding it there with an arm over you. Even if his hand is freezing.
Dick Winters:
Tumblr media
It maybe happens around Bastogne? You happen to fire at the Germans and when you guys go look after, one of them is just a kid.
Let’s say he’s nowhere near older than twenty, still in his teens, and you’re absolutely horrified from the second you find this out.
It makes you freak tf out and the men bundle you back to the line pretty fast, they all know what it feels like, that guilt ravishing them alive. And Winters especially understands the exact thing you’ve been through.
I feel like he’d find out pretty fast, the two of you are in a private relationship that can’t be openly shown out on the field.
He’d take a sensible approach, despite being oh so worried.
Has you come sit in his and Lewis’ tent at CP.
Would offer you a drink, food, another coat, new boots, worries that you need feminine products? Idk the man just wants to take care of u ok.
When it comes to it and you say no to everything he simply sits besides you and just looks over your face.
Then he opens up about Holland and how he shot another soldier, just a kid. It’s relatable and the feelings he talks about are exactly what you’re experiencing.
If you get upset he can’t engulf you into the hug he wants, but he deffo squeezes you with an arm around you, encouraging you to know this isn’t your fault.
Extremely mindful of you for the following days after. If you wanna go off the line then he does that, if you wanna go for a walk then he makes somebody’s with you at all times.
Super super emotionally intelligent and would support you through anything.
Joe Liebgott:
Tumblr media
Probs walks into the quiet aid station all loud mouthed and hollering about something irrelevant. He knew you were on shift tonight with one other nurse who’s occupied upstairs in the building. Your arrival in Austria luckily called for a lot less gruesome wounds and gory deaths- but every now and then, someone slipped through your fingers.
Your head snaps up, away from the patient who lay still before you. Your eyes are full of tears and at the sight of Joe, you begin to sob.
“What is it-” immediately goes to run forwards, but then he clicks when he noticed the bloodied man below you. Your hands are covered in crimson, trembling and it’s smeared all over your uniform.
Realises pretty quick what’s happened.
“I couldn’t save him, Joe.” You wept. “Nobody came to help.”
Understandably Joes first reaction is to throw a fit that nobody else was here to help you- but then he takes in your broken expression once more and remembers where they were. Things like this just happened out here.
“Okay, baby.” He’d sooth, approaching you as carefully as possible. He’d take your hands in his and meet your gaze. “Let me help you.”
You can’t tell me that he wouldn’t be the biggest sweetheart ever?
He’d wash your hands for you, rubbing his thumb gently over each patch of skin, then he’d get help from another medic, a little pissed that nobody came to help. After that he’d tell whoever’s in charge you’re done off shift and take you back to your room (screw fraternisation rules, Joe doesn’t follow them, not when it comes to you).
He’d pretty soon find out that the guy on the table had a burst artery, whilst he’s undressing you from your stained uniform, he’d tut to himself gently.
“Somethin’ like that happens n’ they’re gone. There wasn’t anything you coulda’ done.”
“No but- I could’ve tried! If somebody helped then I could’ve done it! We’re not in Bastogne anymore I should’ve been able to help!”
“Y/n, you know you can’t think like that.”
Wouldn’t allow it for a second that you blamed yourself, it physically pains him that you’re sobbing and shaking, Joe holds you close and just lets you get it all out, feeling pretty revengeful for whoever left you alone that night.
“It’s all my fault, Joe…”
“No… no, sweetheart. C’mere, the guy was a dead man the second he got hit..”
The best with comforting you with words, if he needs to be a little harsh to get it through to you that it’s not your fault he will- but he won’t allow it for a second that you take any form of blame for this.
It hurts him to know it’s hurting you.

not a good man 2
Simon Riley x fem!reader, part 1
Summary: Simon crawls back to apologise
You have asked and I have delivered. I might or might not make an alternative ending where reader doesn’t take back Simon and starts dating König instead
Warning: light smut (just a paragraph, oral f receiving), still mdni
Tumblr media
The next weeks were spent by Simon drowning in alcohol, refusing to admit it’s because of you. He didn’t call or text at all after that last fight, but you didn’t either.
You on the other hand, spent the first week falling asleep crying next to your phone. You hoped that, for once, it would be him who fights for you. But he never called, which only worked to break your heart further.
“Silly me I guess” you’d tell yourself.
On the base he was more distracted than usual, but not enough for anyone to notice. Well, not enough for someone that wasn’t close to him. His captain, John Price, noticed. So one day, while he was having lunch, Price took a seat across the table.
“Captain” Ghost nodded his head.
“Ghost. What’s on your mind?” John’s eyes softened slightly. Simon was very dear to him.
“What are you talking about?”
“You’re distracted”
Those words cut through him like a knife. Distracted? Him?
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” he responded, tone more cold now.
“I think you do”
John wasn’t one to back down and Simon knew that. And John also wasn’t someone Simon could intimidate. He was trapped.
“Just a fight”
“Your girl or something?”
Simon didn’t respond and John knew silence was an answer too.
“Have you tried to apologize?”
“What makes you think it’s my fault?” he raised his voice ever so slightly. As much as Price annoyed him in this moment, he wasn’t going to be disrespectful to his captain.
Price only gave him an amused look.
“Look Riley, a word of advice. Not from a superior, but from a comrade”
Simon looked at him straight in the eyes, waiting for him to continue.
John smiled “just because she loves the monster you are, it doesn’t make you less of one. You cannot be Ghost where you should be Simon” and with that, John stood up with his cup of coffee and departed, leaving Simon alone with his thoughts.
And that is how Simon found himself in front of your apartment door. He stood there for at least 20 mins before he knocked.
You were on the couch, nose deep into one of your books. The past weeks have been rough, finding yourself unable to focus on much else.
The soft knocks on your door made you snap back to reality. They were so quiet you almost missed it. You stood up from the couch and made your way to the door.
Your heart jumped in your throat when you looked through the peephole and saw him. His hood was up, and he was looking down.
For a while you contemplated ignoring him, but part of you, the big part of you, the one that still loved him, won. So you opened the door.
“Simon” you said, coldly.
“Dove—“ he looked up and paused. Your eyes were red, you have been crying for god knows how long. He looked back down. In that moment he wanted to punch himself into another dimension.
“‘M sorry” he mumbled.
“What?”
“‘M sorry” he said again, still looking down.
“Is that all? Really?” you were getting angry.
“You know what? Forget it” you said, starting to close to door, which he promptly stopped with his hand.
“N-no. Wait. Look. I know. I’ve been nothing but a cunt to you since the moment we started dating… and— I’m sorry, ok?” he sounded almost desperate.
You let go of the door and stepped aside, which he took as an invitation and walked in after you, closing the door behind.
“You’re soaking wet” you remarked.
“I— I waited for 30 minutes in front of your apartment complex. Then 20 more in front of your door..” he was still not looking at you.
“So it took you about an hour to debate whether or not I was worth an apology?” your voice was cold and full of venom.
“No. It’s not like that” he looked up, his eyes almost pleading for you to stop. Just accept his apology. But of course you weren’t going to and he knew that.
“Look Y/N. I can’t be what you need me to be. I don’t know how to do love you. Not in the way you want me to”
“But are you willing to try?”
“What?”
You left a crack to your heart for him to use. It was up to him to make the effort to squeeze through it.
“I asked—“
“Yes” he cut you off. “Yes I will try. Please love”.
He took a few steps towards you, but this time, you stood where you were. You extended your hands to cup his face and he instinctively leaned into your touch.
“Don’t ever—“
“I won’t” he didn’t let you finish.
“Okay” you said, gently stroking his face with your thumbs “you will have to prove that to me”.
He only nodded, leaning more into your touch.
“I’m sorry love” he said again.
“Good. You should be” you said before standing on your toes and kissing the corner of his mouth.
His eyes widened “I thought you’re mad at me” he blinked a few times, not yet daring to touch you.
“I am. Incredibly so. But— I also love you” you said before kissing him back, not letting him get another word in. In a way, you were scared to wait, scared he wouldn’t say it back.
He didn’t wait too long before kissing you again, one of his big hands holding the back on your head, deepening the kiss. His other hand squeezed your lower back, closing any space between you.
“Seems like you can’t stay away for long little one” he smirked once you pulled away from the kiss.
“Look who’s talking. Last I checked, you’re the one that crawled back”
He gave you a quick look before pulling you into another kiss and picking you up. You wrapped your legs around him until he made it to the bedroom, dropping you on the bed and taking off his wet hoodie before climbing on top of you.
As much as he wanted to fuck you silly, he knew that wouldn’t build him a strong enough case. He didn’t want to make you feel like he was just here for a quick fix. He heard you sob about that enough in the past.
“You’re worth crawling back to” he said, kissing you again before you had a chance to answer.
You smiled, wrapping your arms around his neck and deepened the kiss.
Once he pulled from the kiss, he latched onto your neck, sucking on all the spots he knew were sensitive. His hand traveled down your abdomen, running circles over your wet, needy clit.
Your moans were suddenly making his jeans feel too tight, causing him to grind against the mattress.
“Si— let me help you”
“No” he said, standing up on his knees and pulling your underwear down “for once let’s not make it about me dove”. And with that, his face was between your legs, pushing his tongue inside of you.
“Oh fuck—“ you moaned, arching your back.
He kept eating you out like you were his last meal before death. One hand held you firmly in place and the other was completely abusing your clit.
“Si— fuck— just like that, oh fuck” it felt so good you didn’t even realize you were tearing up.
“I’m gonna—“
“That’s right babe, come for me” he said, while his cock was still throbbing in his pants.
You didn’t need more encouragement before coming, your body twitching as Simon refused to let go of you, licking every drop.
You were panting, your eyes were glossy as you watched him climb on top of you again, kiss your forehead and then lay down next to you.
“What about you?” you asked, rolling on your side to face him.
He caressed your face with the back on his hand. It was rough, but you wouldn’t have it any other way. “I came here to apologize dove”
“But—“
“No buts little one”
He pulled you to him, nuzzling your hair. The room was dark, and the rain was still strong. How you take him back over and over, he couldn’t wrap his head around. He didn’t deserve you, that was for sure. His own ray of sunshine into the void his life was. He would never feel good enough for you, but for what it’s worth, you’re stuck with him. And he promised he would do better.
He didn’t remember just for how long he held you, but it must’ve been a while, for you started to snore.
This made him smile to himself, and he wrapped a blanket around you.
“…. I love you too” he said, but you were already asleep.

ok i have a request: phobos with a shy player who hides behind him to avoid talking to people. extra bonus points if they also tend to get overstimulated and will just hang out in his office because they know nobody will disturb them
Of course! Here you go Anon, Happy New Year! <3
Phobos' Reaction to a Shy!Player
(TW: Yandere, Obsessive Behavior, Referenced Violence)
Tumblr media
The moment you first show some signs of extreme shyness, Phobos’ concern is obvious. The sight of you ducking behind him when two of his agents passed by made him wonder if they'd committed the sin of scaring you in some way.
He’ll ask you about it in a soft manner, ever polite and gentlemanly. “Have my men done anything to make you wary, Your Grace? I assure you, I’ll punish them appropriately for their transgression, whatever it might be."
(Perhaps he was a little too convinced that they did something. But the Director couldn’t stand for anyone or anything making you too scared to be there at the Nexus’ headquarters, too scared to be near him. Plus, he couldn’t stand it if these nobodies made his organization look bad to you. Not when all of this was for your favor.)
You wave your hands and try to assuage his concern, explaining that you were just a bit overwhelmed by others’ attention and that his personnel weren’t at fault for anything. (Luckily for them.) The Director merely hummed in response, but you could tell he was put at ease by the way his hand fell from the pommel of the sword at his side.
After that, however, Phobos learns to appreciate your shyness each time it rears its head. The way it causes you to go to him for comfort is something he can’t help but adore, not only because it serves him with that attention from you he so craves, but also because it shows just how much you trust him.
Really, it’s enough to make him swoon. Witnessing his God showing so much faith in him and his capabilities, seeing how you go to him and him alone for comfort—it's far more than any simple vessel of yours could hope for.
Phobos will do his best to ensure that you never regret your choice, and he’ll be infinitely welcoming and understanding whenever you feel the need to escape from others’ attention.
He’ll place himself between you and anyone else who enters your vicinity, acting as a barrier should you not want to spend your time mingling with his lessers. (Besides, he really doesn’t think that they deserve an inkling of your attention anyway, even if they are his underlings.)
If you do decide to socialize, he’ll try to keep you close regardless. He figures it would be best to do so in case anyone tries to get too comfortable around you or dares to upset you.
Needless to say, the workers of the Nexus Core are never truly at ease whenever they’re around you; it’s impossible to be. Not when their Director is leering in their direction like he’s a second away from violently lunging at them. And they honestly believe Phobos enjoys the discomfort they feel around him. (And they’d be right.)
On the off chance that Phobos cannot accompany you, he’ll have one of his officers do it instead (likely a Tower Guard or another one of his more powerful units). They’ll be under strict orders concerning their treatment of you, of course.
Phobos absolutely loves it when you hide away in his office to get some proper peace and quiet. Just being able to look up from his work and see you lazing about on the seat closest to his or reading a book he’s gifted you makes him feel all the more warm in your presence. Perhaps it’s the joy of being in your sphere, or simply the gratefulness he has that you chose him and his place as your getaway, but the butterflies in his chest can’t seem to die down when you’re so close.
He’ll encourage you to stay more often and for longer each time you drop by. Phobos will also use a myriad of reasons to try to convince you if you hesitate; whether it be his need for your tactical knowledge or him “accidentally” ordering someone to bring your favorite snacks/drink to his office before you even entered. Either way, you’ll find yourself having some obligation to spend more time with him. Not like you mind it that much; Phobos is surprisingly good company (to you, at least), and it stops you from having to mingle with others when you don’t wish to.
Overall, Phobos is surprisingly soft and doting when faced with your shyness - even affectionate (and clingy) at times. However, that's to be expected; it's a side only you could ever bring out of him, after all. For the Director of the Nexus Core, treating you any different would be a crime worthy of the worst consequences imaginable.

(I’m going to assume these two asks are together. )
OK, so the only way I can see them getting close to injuring you is if they were fighting with someone and accidentally hurt you. They are not gonna let you be a vigilante, and probably would not train you at all.
Dick goes full-blown shut down mode. He will mother hen you to the extreme, but he will be like a shell of himself. How could he hurt his little sibling, his little star? You’re not going to get much alone time, but if you start flinching around him, he’s going to freak out and probably have a panic attack. Best thing you can do to calm him down, is let him help you with everything, and avoid mentioning your injury. If you say you forgive him, though, that will only make him obsess over you more, and feel more guilty. His sweet little sibling forgave him so quickly, he didn’t deserve you.
Jason will vanish. Like straight up gone for a month sort of thing. He will freak out about hurting you and will not come around you for a while. Only once you are healed up. That does not mean he doesn’t stay around the Manor though. In fact, he is more vigilant than ever about any threats towards you.(when you start healing up, Jason might sneak into your room and watch you sleep, reassuring himself, that you’re going to be OK. He is not like Willis.) there are one of two ways. I can see him coming back. Either you get in trouble and he saves you, or he finds out that you miss him. Either way, after he comes back, he will be treating you with more fragility then before and will let you get away with anything, though he definitely won’t give you as much freedom outside, too worried about you getting hurt again. You just need to ride it out, and make sure he knows that you don’t blame him for anything.
Tim will shut down in the beginning. He will freak out about it and after getting you to Alfred, he will shut down and hit on himself for a while. Eventually, though, his mind will twist it, so that he will believe you hurt yourself, or one of the others hurt you. He cannot except the fact that he hurt you. If anyone brings it up ever again, which Damian probably will, he will simply act as if it did not happen, or start having another breakdown. Best thing you can do is go along with his delusion and let him help you.
Damian will go one of two ways. One, if he was fighting with someone else at the time, he will blame it on them, and not let them see you. He will be more protective than ever and what little time yet to yourself will be gone. The other option is complete and utter shut down. He will go into a similar state that you were in, depression, that will make him bad. Any side of your injury will make him worse, but if he goes to long without seeing you, he will be worse than ever. As long as you can blame someone else, he will be able to keep going, so your best bet for making things run smoothly, is telling him that it wasn’t his fault, or making him believe he’s protecting you.
Bruce is very similar to Jason, but worse guilt. Bruce is aware that he’s been a bad father, but hurting you will send him over the edge, especially with a major injury. He will go into an arc similar to what he did after Jason’s death, though not as bad for the criminals. He will be reckless and avoid you for a long time. Alfred will have to manipulate him into talking to you again, and he will be awkward and scared to be around you. He has a lot of trauma around his loved ones dying, and you getting badly hurt by him? Your best bet is to ride it out, keep your siblings from mutinying on him, make sure they all know you miss Bruce, and working with Alfred to get him better( you going to Bruce and asking for a bed time story will help your relationship with him though.)

23. Did they hurt you?
When Vale learns about people breaking into Marc's home after what he said about it he feels like a meteor just hit him at full force.
He knows his fans are loyal and almost cult-like followers but this is definitely not what he thought could've happened after a press con.
Yes he was angry, fuming even, because Marc had just costed hima championship but - he never would've thought people could be this insane.
He wants to text Marc, tell him he's sorry that happened.
A clean, short message.
Just to get it off his chest.
But vale knows Marc, he knows his mind and how stupidly stubborn that boy is. He knows if he got hurt he didn't tell anyone and is probably still hurting.
And yeah maybe he shouldn't care, not after what Marc did, but something deep in his chest wants him to go, check on Marc, talk to him.
When he sneaks into Marc's motorhome that evening he thanks no one is inside, there was a really high chance Alex was gonna be there, and the younger never had a particular liking for Vale.
The only person present in the motorhome is Marc.
He's sat on his bed, shirtless and sad.
He looks - Vale doesn't decipher his eyes, there's a layer of something he cannot quite understand.
Even from the distance he can see the bruise, on his arm, ugly blue and purple fading to yellow on the edges.
Marc is wincing in pain as he applies what Vale supposes to be arnica or something similar.
There's a pack of ice on the nightstand, it's leaking, probably been there for longer than it was supposed to be.
He doesn't think about announcing his break-in, and he realizes a bit too late he's made a mistake.
He opens the door fully and he steps in, but when he does he's met with a terrified Marc, who curls up and hides his face.
"Marc it's me"
How fucking stupid can he be?
People just broke into his house and he comes in here like this.
When Marc notices he sits straight up, the twitch in the corner of his eyes a signal he's in pain, but doesn't want to show.
He's calming his breath down, trying to erase the moment that just passed.
"I uhm"
"What? You wanted to congratulate your dogs for entering my home and fucking it up?"
"No no Marc I-I wanted to say I'm sorry this happened"
"Mh. And why should I believe you?"
"Because I'm sorry"
"Yeah ok and if I tell you I didn't act on purpose to make you loose the championship what would yo say?"
"I wouldn't believe you, Marc this is a different thing-"
"What a fucking hypocrite. You want me to believe you but you wouldn't believe me if you had proofs in front of you"
"I - Marc this is not why I came here I just wanted to say I'm sorry about what happened"
"To say sorry? Sorry doesn't fix anything Valentino. They broke in. They broke things, they - they wrote on the fucking wall. Do you know what they shouted when I came back home, before breaking in?"
Vale's mind is running. No he doesn't know what they shouted, and he's not sure he wants to.
"They called me Lorenzo's little bitch. Reminds you of something someone else said? Oh yes. It's what you said to your journalist friends"
Vale is far again, heartbeat in his ears, Marc's eyes clearly full of tears but proudly holding them back.
His attention is brought back by the bruise.
it's still there, ugly as before, must be really fucking painful.
Then he notices another one, fading, and his stomach drops.
The one on the arm was bad already, it was done to hurt for sure but the second one.
It's. It's scary.
Around Marc's neck there's the faint line of a hand squeezing it with too much force.
He wants to get closer to Marc, hug him to reassure him but he knows he would scare him away if he did.
So he asks, because it's all he can do.
"Did they hurt you?"
The tone shakes something inside Marc. A weakness, a desire to be comforted and held. But he doesn't give into it. Because it was Vale's fault if that crazy man grabbed him by the hand and when he freed himself did the same at his neck.
He still feels the hand around it, the sheer panic he felt for the five seconds it lasted, before others got him far from that hold.
So he scoffs. Doesn't look at Vale because if he did he would meet his gaze, which guessing by his tone is of pity.
And Marc Marquez doesn't accept pity.
"Would you care?"
And Vale is stunned. He knows Marc thinks he hates him, because he's done everything to make it look like that.
But. He didn't think Marc thought he hated him THIS much. Not to care.
"Of course I care Marc they - they broke in and - the press didn't say anything about these"
Vale probably shuts his brain off, because he actually sits on Marc's bed next to him, and extends his hand to touch the bruised area.
And Marc, for the first time in his life, jerks away from Vale's touch. Like it's venomous, burning.
And Vale is sincerely worried now, hurt yes, because Marc gets away from him, but mostly worried for the fear he sees hiding behind Marc's pupils.
"Marc I'm not going to hurt you"
"No? Like you weren't going to leave me over racing results? You think I forgot what you promised me? Before the Ranch? Why should I trust you now Valentino?"
Valentino.
Not Vale.
"I - the racing it's different, it's a whole championship Marc! You helped him and -"
"I DIN'T FUCKING HELP HIM"
Marc is red in the face, he's stood up from the bed, and for once vale feels like the smaller out of the two.
"GOD! Will you get it in your fucking head I didn't help anyone to win? Huh? The fuck do you think that I manipulated the penalty system or what? That I faked to fall? That I've been mastering up this majestic plan to make you loose a championship since the Ranch visit? I didn't give a fuck who would've won last year because I wasn't in the run"
He wants to cry, so desperately would want that Vale wasn't the responsible of his pain so to look for comfort in him.
Because it doesn't make sense to ask for comfort to the person who's hurting you right? It's an oxymore.
"Marc please let me help you with those"
He'd ducking the question, Marc knows he is because he doesn0t have an answer.
And he wants to say no.
Wants to tell him to fuck off.
Instead he sits back on the bed, tilting his neck slightly, and it hurts.
He's scared too, his neck is there, ready to be sliced open if one only would.
He anticipates the sensation, hot blood running down his throat and staining his shirt, his bed, a river of crimson regret.
Instead there's gentle fingers grazing his skin, a thin layer of cream gently massaged on his bruised skin.
He wants to cry again, he also wants to get away, but he also wants Vale to stay and hold him.
He hasn't slept in days.
He wants to fall asleep with him.
God his head is a fucking mess. And Vale keeps on applying the cream on his neck, he can feel the softness and the carefulness of his touch. It's beautiful.
He wishes it could be like this forever.
Silence, softness and closeness.
Once Vale is finished he expects him to go, but he doesn't.
Marc doesn't protest, he slips under the covers and closes his eyes, tries to fall asleep.
Vale is still sat on his bed, like a guard, and Marc knows nothing between them is ok.
But maybe with Vale presence tonight he will be able to sleep.
And maybe in his dreams they're ok.

Lieutenant Ghost is a big time flirt..
You and Soap end up in Ghost's apartment because he wanted to get some files from there but your LT is a big time flirt and cannot stop flirting with you. He scares the hell out of you everytime.
Ghost opened the door to reveal a yawning Soap.
"So you woke up. Finally." Ghost said.
"Yes LT! Couldn't sleep in the car for that long." Soap said in between yawns.
"Sleep on the couch Johnny." Ghost pointed towards the couch.
"What about Angela?" Soap asked.
"Don't worry about her." Ghost said.
"Ok." Soap said and sunk in the couch.
Ghost took a cushion from another couch throwing at him before coming into the bedroom locking the door behind him.
As I stood there, washing my face, Ghost entered the bathroom, casually removing his zipper hoodie. My eyes widened in surprise as I took in his sculpted physique, adorned with a network of scars, each one telling its own story.
There was a particularly prominent scar on the left side of his ribs, a visible reminder of past battles and close calls.
But what truly caught my attention was the tattoo that adorned his skin, a design I had only glimpsed from a distance before.
Now, standing before me, I could see it clearly, every intricate detail etched into his flesh. It was a mesmerizing sight, drawing me in with its mystery and allure.
"I messed up my clothes love. Going to take a shower. Care to join me?" He asked, his tone playful.
"I don't have the courage plus you can't shower with your mask on Ghost." I replied trying to avoid any further physical contact with him.
I knew I would melt under his touch.
"Why don't we make a deal?" He suggested.
"I take my mask off and you take your clothes off for me." He said stepping very close to me.
Feeling a surge of panic I put both of my hands on his chest, pleading.
"No. Please don't."
"I promise I won't bite." He whispered into my ear.
Flushed and flustered, I bit my lip nervously.
"I can't do this," I stammered before hastily fleeing the bathroom.
His laughter followed me. "Sorry I scared you, love. I was joking," he called after me.
"Don't ever make jokes like that with me. Ever again," I replied firmly, trying to calm my racing heart.
I stormed into the living room, tossing a cushion at Soap. "Get up and go sleep with him," I demanded, pointing towards Ghost's bedroom.
Soap, still groggy, protested, "What? He told me you're not sleeping here."
"Where else am I supposed to sleep then? You two can sleep together on his bed. I'm taking the couch," I declared firmly, settling onto the couch with a cushion in my lap.
As Soap trudged off to his designated room, Ghost emerged from the shower, clad in a grey hoodie and sweatpants.
"Fucking hell! Now I'll have to listen to his snoring all night," Ghost muttered, annoyance clear in his voice.
"Do you want some tea, love?" he asked, rummaging through the cabinets for jars.
"Sure," I replied, trying to push away the lingering discomfort from our earlier encounter.
As I leaned against the counter, watching him put the kettle on the stove, I couldn't shake off the curiosity that had been nagging at me for so long. "Why do you always wear a mask?" I inquired, my voice soft but insistent.
He paused for a moment, seemingly caught off guard by the question. "To hide my face," he replied simply, his tone carrying a weight of finality.
"Yeah, everybody knows that," I countered, pressing further. "But why hide your face?"
"To hide my identity from enemies," he stated, his voice clipped and precise.
I moved closer, closing the distance between us. "Enemies. But why friends? What is our fault?" I chuckled lightly, trying to break the tension that hung in the air.
He didn't answer immediately, and I took the opportunity to continue. "You're perfect in every aspect, and you don't know that. But you can be better than this if you try to be a little less flirtatious," I said, my words pouring out in a rush now.
Its a small part from my original novel on wattpad.

Inspired on an episode from HIMYM - because is my background noise show:
Tim hooking up with Jason thinking he is a hooker because whoever introduced them (probably OG Bernard) was playing a prank on Tim for being a prude/too puritan and is not like Tim had much time to find a date for the wedding he had to go to. He is still friends with his ex but it hasn't been that long since the break-up and its awkward and now they have to go to the same wedding since they are within the same group of friends.
Bernard: You should totally bring a date
Tim: what? who am I gonna bring? I'm too busy as it is and I'm not going to bring a random guy from grindr
Bernard: Eh, just bring an escort
Tim: I'm not THAT desperate.
Bernard: Pfft, what's the big deal, no strings attached, get to show everyone you are doing just fine, no one has to know, you leave with your dignity AND a good time
Tim: You cannot be serious.
Bernard: Oh I'm so serious. What, Tim Drake can't hook up with a hooker now?
Tim: Just no, and seriously shut up. I'll see if I can find someone and I have nothing to prove I don't care to make Steph jealous. Plus I'm sure she won't bring a date.
Wedding comes, Tim shows up and Bernard is with his date and another very handsome man.
Tim pulls Bernard to the side because what?!
Tim: Who is that?
Bernard: Oh, you know, found you a date *wink*, thank me later.
Tim: With a hooker!?
Bernard: What, too handsome to be a hooker uh? No one would ever suspect anything
Tim: That's beside the point! I had said no-
Bernard: Geez, give it a try no one said to sleep or do anything with him? He is just a companion tonight, whatever else happens is up to you
Tim: I know that! But-
Steph: You guys ok there?
Steph and her date had joined Jason and Ariana (Bernard's date) and they had come looking for Bernard and Tim.
Jason: Hey, you are way cuter than described.
And he winked at Tim. He was way too handsome, towering the whole group.
Tim at first is kind of forced to go along but it would be awkward to reject Jason since he was already there, and it was not his fault plus damn he looked stunning. They hit it off just fine, in fact it was great, Jay was a total nerd, they spent most of the night talking, drinking and flirting, and Tim started to feel all giddy and more emboldened to just flirt back. Is not like he will see him again right?
The event was at a hotel and they were going to leave their own ways. At first Tim was reluctant because well, he has never done this before and maybe this is going to be really expensive but… what the hell, he hasn't been with anyone for some time and he really finds he likes Jason even if he is a hooker and might not actually like Tim. So he invited Jason to his room to which Jason just said: Was starting to think you were not going to ask. That would have been no fun.
They hook up, sex is amazing, 100/10 would do it again … , and Tim leaves a few $100 bills by the table and just leaves a note with his number saying call me. Tim thinks well… at least maybe this way he knows Tim is still interested to see him again. Tim feels crazy because what has his life come to… and no, is not like this will be a Pretty Woman kind of plot, Jason probably has other people to see and WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM!? He will totally not tell anyone about this and certainly won't tell Bernard how did it go.
Well, Jason never calls him, Tim doesn't have his number, so he can't call him. Not long afterwards Tim has an accident on his bike, the paramedics come get him and Tim sees Jason there. At first Tim thinks maybe he is hallucinating because he totally has a concussion but-
Tim: Jason? what are you doing here?!
Jason: My job?? Didn't Bernard tell you I was a paramedic?
Tim: WHAT? AREN'T YOU A HOOKER!?!?
Jason: What.
Jason has half the mind to not punch Tim because he is having flashbacks of having such an amazing time with this rich kid that seemed nothing like the rest but then he wakes up alone and with money by the bed table. So insulting.
Jason: I'm a fucking PARAMEDIC… now shut the fuck up before I fucking make your injuries worse and lose my license.
Anyway, they clear things up (and Tim cant look at any of the nurses in the eye because they start giggling). Bernard, Ariana and Jason work at the same hospital and Ariana and Jason are good friends. Bernard invited Jason with them, telling him he had a good friend of his who is really cute but pretty lonely and can't find a date since he barely has any time to get himself out there. Jason shot him down at first with thanks but no thanks, but Ariana (Bernard's gf) told him Tim is actually really nice. Since Jason didn't have any plans he ended up accepting.
Jason: So you slept with me…thinking I was a hooker?!
Tim: …. Listen I wasn't going to do any of it, I swear but you were so funny, witty, smart, loved talking to you and in just a few hours I found I really was starting to like you, you were amazing… and didn't matter what you did for a living. I genuinely wanted to see you again and now I'm babbling and not making any sense I'm sorry-
Jason: The fuck is wrong with ya?… after another string of curses
Tim: I- … I'm sorry, I know this is a mess and I understand if you don't want to see me again-
Jason: No, I was talking to myself because for whatever reason I find ya oddly sweet.
Jason: But first, I'm going to do something for myself and slash Bernard's bike tires :)
Tim: Oh, can I join you?
Jason: Sure. It's a date Timbit ;)

The selective application of real world standards in the ACOTAR fandom is truly the most bizarre thing I have ever seen. When discussing Nesta's behavior or Lucien's actions or Tamlin's style of leadership or... anything Tamlin does, really, we have to use real world standards and ignore the circumstance and context, ignore that this is a fantasy world and hold them accountable by our values. They cannot act like they are in a world that is fantasy, and if they do they are faulted for it. They cannot act on the knowledge they know and have of their circumstances, and if they do they are faulted for it. They cannot merely exist within the broken system that is Prythian's power hierarchy, rather they are faulted for not attempting to better things and make their world mirror ours. But the minute those standards are applied to Feyre and Rhysand or anyone else, suddenly we need to keep in mind again that this is fantasy and to not judge by real world standards. Feyre and Rhysand are praised by the narrative as progressive leaders attempting to change the system of power. They objectively aren't, because you truly cannot be progressive while actively upholding the system that oppresses others and, for example, leaving brown women and children to rot in the places you dislike because you've stereotyped all the brown men as savages too dumb and uncivilized to change whew the racist writing of the Illyrians jumps out, nor is it progressive to remove your wife's bodily autonomy by keeping information about your wife dying in childbirth from her. If you get upset at that being pointed out because ~it's fantasy~ then you can't exactly write 10-paragraph long essays about how horrible other High Lord's feudal systems are, now can you? After all, it is fantasy. Feyre and Rhysand are adored for their "healthy" relationship, despite that being woefully not true by any real-world metric. Hell, with having the male get so jealous when other men look at his mate that he feels the need to fight them, break the bones of people who call her a whore, and have the couple become incredibly co-dependent once they mate, mating bond in and of itself is wildly unhealthy by real world standards! If pointing this out bothers you because ~it's fantasy~ and you believe you can't use real world standards to judge a relationship between two magical creatures in a retelling of a Greek myth, then you can't write essays about the healthiness or unhealthiness of any other relationship in ACOTAR. After all, it is fantasy. Feyre and Rhysand are excused for their atrocious actions that harm and displace tons of innocents because they are "acting for the greater good" or lack the information to wait at a later time for revenge, despite the dire consequences their objectively horrible actions. If this bothers you because ~it's fantasy~ and they don't need to act by real world standards and every horrible thing they do can be excused with "it's for the greater good" or "they didn't have enough information at that time", then you can't critique other characters who don't abide by real world standards of what behavior is ok and not because they canonically have limited information or are doing something for "the greater good." After all, it is fantasy.
Either everybody is critiqued by real world standards, including the faves, or no one is, including the characters you hate the most. You can't hold a certain group accountable by real world standards and be surprised when people do the same right back.

So the scarring discourse is still going.
No, characters keeping scars does not automatically equate to that being torture porn. In this context, fans clearly intend it in a way that says "even if you end up with physical marks, it doesn't diminish you". Or is Aang getting scarred torture porn too? Or do you think things like Mortal Engines movie shrinking the female lead's facial damage to a minimum "spared her of physical trauma"? No, it was afraid of depicting something deemed "ugly" and it's a huge disservice to real people who look like she was described in the book.
The topic was not handled super well in ATLA. Katara's wounds got healed leaving no trace on her, on her psyche nor on how she views Aang which is not just unrealistic, but you can literally feel in the show Katara having to go "no Aang it's ok, I'm fine, you don't have to beat yourself up over it, I'm healed, let it go Aang, it's not your fault," it is too much. It would have been much stronger had the burns left some mark, even a tiny one, because then Aang's reluctance to practice firebending would have made more sense and all characters would have gotten a more solid demonstration that the Avatar can be dangerous too. It would have been a wakeup call to Katara that Aang isn't a completely harmless kid she can always shield and protect. That's character development! This would have been a more powerful moment in the progression of their relationship, especially after they sort it out and Aang learns safe firebending later on, because they'd have a more real problem to overcome rather than just Aang's guilt.
Again, show didn't frame things too cleverly - there's no heightened moment of perhaps Katara being extremely happy that she discovered a part of her lost Southern waterbending heritage (just remember her behaviour with Hama, there's none of that here). The show just removes her wounds, she's confused about the ability, and this leads to Jeong Jeong making a point about how fire is wild and destructive. The whole segment ends with removing the source of the problem (wounds) and is about how evil fire is. Aang ends up being traumatized anyway, he isn't less traumatized because Katara's wounds didn't scar.
The point is - Katara gets nothing character-building out of this event, even though it made her cry and cradle her arms for several minutes on screen. Because of this her burns could be considered torture-porn (slightly). Her discovering healing abilities is not a reward she got exclusively because she suffered the burns, she could have discovered it by accidentally hurting herself, or healing someone else. Imagine if Aang hurt himself by being reckless and Katara discovering she could heal him? What she should have gotten out of specifically being burned by Aang, is a changed view of him. I don't mean her viewing him negatively, but taking a step back and both learning they should be more careful. Who said zutara stans want Katara getting scarred by Aang in order to make Aang a villain in this? He literally cannot be a villain here, he made a big mistake by being careless. It's got nothing to do with zutara. It's not helpful to misinterpret some storytelling tools that have nothing to do with shipping, just to prevent them from creating some later story hooks which could potentially be used in shipping a NOTP. Heck, Katara getting scarred could even be used (with skilled writing) in shipping her with Aang - like zutara fans use Katara being angry at Zuko and expecting him to demonstrate that he wouldn't betray or hurt them again.
And if you have a distaste for two happy friendly characters hurting each other on accident, that's fine, but well I have a scar on my arm from my brother's scratch that happened on accident. These things happen and stories shouldn't be scared of portraying it, especially if later on they show how to make ammends and overcome the problem. I'm not saying "Katara should definitely have kept her scars!!!" I am showing narrative weak points and suggestions how things could have been done differently, what benefits it could have had character-wise and what that might have changed.

Cheater - part 2
Tumblr media
part 1
Warnings: SMUT -MINORS DNI PLEASE! heavy angst, heartbreak, poor life choices, trauma, drama
A/N: special thanks to @90s-belladonna - I kinda heard your comment :D, and sorry for all the spelling mistakes, it's waayyyy past midnight here but I just had to finish it.
Ok, here we go people. Get ready for angst in 3....2......1.....
***
„You sure as hell moved on pretty fast.”
“Come on, Dick, it’s been three months. Do you seriously expect me to cry over a guy who, may I remind you, cheated on me. And who, may I remind you as well, you wanted to beat to shit cause of that?”
“Hey, I’m just saying” Dick raised his hands in surrendering gesture “it’s just nice to see you smiling again.”
“Besides.” Y/N gave him a warning expression “Kyle and I are just friends. We are having fun together, but he is a freaking green lantern. Here one second and on the other side of the galaxy the other. You cannot quite rely on a guy like that to get into a serious relationship with.”
“Mhm, sure. Someone should probably tell him you think so.”
“Why?”
“Cause I can see the way he looks at you.”
“Which is how exactly?” the girl turned around, facing Dick, her eyes showing nothing more but a confusion.
“Like you are a piece of meat, Y/N. He surely wants something more than friendship.”
“Who? Kyle? He’s a resident flirt. He’s not treating me seriously, and neither do I him.”
“Right, whatever you say.”
“You are being paranoid Dick. I know you want to protect me and I appreciate that, truly” she put a hand on his shoulder making him look straight into her face “but I’m fine, I promise. And if anything wrong were to happen I know where to turn. You may have slightly different judgment, but all I’m asking is a little bit of trust. Can I have that, Dickie?”
“Fine! Fine! Have it your way. But. If he does anything. I mean, anything you don’t like, you tell me, all right?”
“All right, Mr. Vigilante. Even though with all the batman training I could probably kick his ass myself. But I promise.”
“Good. Have a nice date then.” he laughed leaving the room.
“It’s not a date!” he yelled after him
“Sure, you keep telling yourself that, sunshine!”
***
After learning what Jason did (who was irrelevant at the moment) Y/N swore to herself she will not succumb into depression and bad thinking. Nope. It was not her fault, she was the victim and there was seriously no reason to dwell on the past. It hurt, sure it did, she loved him after all and such feeling cannot just be turned off, but slowly with Babs, Cass and Steph help she got back on her feet. This entire situation was particularly hard for Dick, since if nothing else Jace was his brother, but he was Y/N’s biggest support as well, helping her get her mind of things by giving her some serious vigilante training and let her join the team on the field. He would never do that under any other circumstances and Y/N appreciated that in every way possible.
So yes, after a month or so, she started to heal and let go, opening herself to life and putting her extra energy into patrols and night work. And that was how she met Kyle. It was actually quite easy. One day, on the titans meeting, while Y/N was discussing the details of newest mission with Donna he just dropped by, apparently because of some mission, and the girl instantly caught his attention.  And given the fact that Kyle had a relationship with Wonder Girl it made it easier to push through to Y/N.
“So, who’s your little friend, Donna?” he asked, tilting his head and eyeing Y/N carefully.
“I’m sorry, who are you calling little, green?” Y/N scoffed “just because you ego is sky rocket high, does not mean I will let you diminish me.”
“All right, there’s no need to get defensive. You just seem like the newest member of the team and that makes you …. Well, little. Unexperienced. A greenie if I may say so. ”
“Kyle….” Donna warned the boy, but he let those words go.
“No offence here, little one, but maybe you should just go home and stay safe. Earth has many protectors who are way more qualified to do the job.”
“Ok, that’s it.” Y/N came right at him, before Donna or any other member of the Titans could stop her. He knew exactly what green lanterns were capable of so with just one perfect swing, turn and kick she managed to grab his ring, with which he was recklessly playing. Once her fingers clutched around the source of the boy’s power, taking him completely by surprise, she threw some of her shurikens in his direction, the force of the flying object, pinning Kyle to the wall.
“Hmmmm” he muttered easily breaking free and humming in admiration “I may have underestimated you.” he reached his hands toward her “I don’t think we were properly introduced. I’m Kyle Rayner, and who may you be, sunshine?”
***
Their relationship was rocky. There were teasing and playing on each other’s nerves, but also quiet moments together when no words were needed to fill the silence. There were fights and banters, but also supporting each other and tending to each other wounds. Y/N missed the fact that this was pretty similar to the other relationship she was before. Guess the girl had a type. But still, Kyle was just a friend to her. Maybe even a frenemy. Nothing more. Nothing. And that was why it was so hard for her to believe the truth behind Dick’s words. Did Kyle see more to their talking and meeting than it truly was? Did he want … more?
It was a bit too late to wonder about that, but her mind was just fixed on this thought.
Was that why he asked her out for tonight. Truly, Y/N believed it was just a casual outing, especially when he mentioned the possibility of his female friend joining him. Y/N was convinced, she was supposed to be the wingwoman and said friend was the one Kyle had his eyes on, but now, as she recollected how the guy asked her out, she realized how wrong she was all this time.
“Hey, Y/n” Kyle grabbed her waist from behind and not giving a damn about her kicking and screaming to put her down, spun her in the air “how about we go out next Saturday? Hm? Come on, say yes, you know it’s impossible to deny this handsome face.”
“First of all, get your hands off me, Rayner! And secondly, why would I say yes to you. You are a terrible person.”
“hmmm. You’ll get dinner for free, and perhaps a flower? How is that for an incentive?”
“That sounds better. I may be friends with a billionaire son, but still had to cut on expenses. How unfair is that?” she scoffed
“It’s settled than.” Kyle smirked “I’ll pick you up at 6 p.m., little one.”
“Stop calling me that!”
“Not a chance” he bend over and pecked her cheek so quickly it was like it never happened “Oh, and one more thing. I have this one friend, who recently started going out with some new dude. She says there’s a bit awkwardness between them, though she paved over the reason. Anyway, I thought maybe we can show those two how nice and friendly it can be between a man and a woman?”
“Oh, so now I’m a woman?”
“Hush, little one. What I meant was that Artemis and her guy may be joining us, hope you don’t mind? We can still have….. “ he hesitated, his eyes fixed on his face and he had to fight an urge to lick his lips “fun.”
“I don’t really care who joins us.” Y/N waved her hands around dismissively “can I just go now?’
“Sure. I’ll see you soon, pretty.” He threw her directions and took off flying.
“Showoff.” She mumbled under her nose.
BUT WHAT THE HELL DID HE CALL HER?! PRETTY?!
***
Yes, she obviously misjudged Kyle’s intentions over her and that came out painfully clear when he knocked on her door, all dressed up, looking.. well, as much as she hated to admit it, handsome. Thank god, she put on a clear pair of jeans and her best shirt. Otherwise she would fell terribly underdressed.
“Hello, little one.” He smiled his signature flirty smile and handed her a single flower.
“One flower?” she raised an eyebrow taking it from his hand “what am I supposed to do with it? Smell and swoon over your charm?”
“told you it was gonna be a single one.  Were you expecting more?”
“No.” she shook her head “let’s just go, all right. I’m actually pretty hungry and the sooner I meet that friend of yours, the sooner I will be free of talking to you.”
“Always a pleasure to be the one to be used by you.” Kyle grinned and motioned her to the car.
“SHUT UP!”
“You look so cute when you are flustered.” He cooed “now come on, get it the car. Are you waiting for me to open the door for you? Cause that may take some time.”
“I’m just reconsidering if my hunger is really worse than the pain of being in your company…..” she pinched the bridge of her nose, wondering what she just got herself into “Fine. Fine, I’ll get in. But just to be clear, I’m ordering the most expensive dish on the menu.”
“Which would probably be a burger and fries, but whatever you say, little one.”
“I HATE YOU, RAYNER!”
“Yeah, I love you too, Y/N.” he teased playfully, but somehow his tone was a bit different than usually.
Oh, she was terribly wrong with judging his intentions, and hell, apparently Dick was right.
***
Once they arrived at the destination, Kyle quickly noticed his friend already sitting in one of the booths. Her red hair were obviously distinctive so there was not a chance to miss the girl.
“Y/N, I’d like you to meet Artemis, one of the biggest mischief there is. Artie….”
“Don’t call me Artie!”
“…. This is Y/N, the girl who though she could beat me the first time we met. Hopefully now she realizes how wrong she was.”
“Hi!” Y/N decided to ignore Kyle’s words and focus on the other girl, instead “I’m Y/N. Good to see I’m not the one who gets called by him.”
“That’s annoying, isn’t it? Maybe we should join forces in kicking his ass?” Artemis smiled
“Bet that would be a shame for him. Can you imagine? Beaten by two girls?” both of them laughed. This Artemis girl seemed nice.
“Ok, ladies, enough of your silly dreams. Where did you lost your boyfriend, Arty? Cause my girl mentioned something about trying to leave me broke and I can’t wait to see her try. How long will we have to wait for him?”
“He just went to the bathroom. Something about bracing himself. You can’t possibly realize how  much effort I had to put in dragging him out tonight.”
“Girl, can we switch guys?” Y/N laughed “I would kill for a man who’d rather stay at home than make me go out.”
“Hmm, nice try, but I’m not giving up Jason so easily.”
“Jason?” Y/N froze for a second. No. No, this could not be…..
“Oh, there he is. Hey, Jace!” Artemis waved her hand in the direction of a black-haired guy. With a white strand of hair in the middle of the forehead. “We’re here.”
“Rayner.” Jason muttered, slipping into the booth.
“You never mentioned you were going out with Jay Todd!” Kyle laughed loudly “that is a hell of a coincidence, isn’t it?”
“Wait, you know each other?” Artemis’ gaze switched between two boys
“Long story full of hate and friendship.” Kyle laughed again. “Anyway, Jason, I’d like you to meet and probably get jealous of the pretty girl I came with tonight. No offence to your girlfriend present.”
“None taken.” Artemis shrugged and snuggled closer to Jason.
Jason, whose gaze travelled toward Y/N.
And then he realized and his eyes turned wide.
And what was even worse, she realized too. The girl who was so nice and sympathetic was also the one, Jason cheated on Y/N with.
“Hey, are you two all right there? You both look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
“Yeah, we’re fine.” Jason stuttered, not really convincing anyone.
Oh fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.
This was sure as hell going to be a fucking interesting night.
***
The tension could literally be cut with a knife.
At least for Jason and Y/N since Kyle and Artemis were having so much fun together that if the other two were to disappear and never come back, none of them would even notice. While the lantern and the red head were just talking and talking and talking, the former Robin and the newest Titans member were focused on picking on their food, not even eating, just dragging it all over the plates, eyes down, unable to pretend. All those months of lying to herself and just by seeing him Y/N was falling back into the same trap.
Good thing she caught herself on repeating the same scenario.
“You are being awfully quiet, Y/N” Kyle finally realized whose voice was missing in the conversation “Todd here is a constant growler, but what happened to my little one?” he grabbed her waist pulling her closer and pinched her side, missing the furious glint in Jason’s eyes. Y/N did not and decided to use it.
“Sorry, I was just thinking about how lucky I am to be here with you, Kyle. And you let me pick my own food, that is sooo kind of you.” she mocked “boys this days, right Artemis?’
“Sure…..” the other girl nodded “we are both lucky I guess, I mean Jace, despite his rather harsh outside is pretty friendly on the inside.”
“Oh, I’m sure he is.” Y/N smiled, her eye travelling to Jason, who at this point was just clenching his jaw. “Kyle, honey! You should have told me you knew each other. I would be much better  prepared for this date. Now I feel like I don’t know your friends at all and seem boring.”
“boring? Y/N, love….” Kyle immediately matched Y/N tone, not fully aware why she turned to be like this, but he liked that. “You are everything but boring.”
“Oh, stop it” he laughed in the silliest, girlish smile she could produce and pushed his chest lightly, playfully “you’re making me blush.”
“And that’s the prettiest blush in the galaxy.” Kyle brushed a strand of hair from her forehead, bringing his face closer to hers. “And I would know, I am the green lantern after all.”
That was simply enough for Jason. He could not control himself anymore, standing up abruptly, almost tripping the table and the dishes.
“Jason?” Artemis took his hand, rubbing it gently “Are you all right?”
“I’m fine.” He hissed through clenched teeth. “I need to smoke.” Without any other word of explanation or apology he left the table, heading towards the back exit.
“I’m sorry.” Artemis sighed deeply “I told he’s been acting strange for a while now…..”
“Really?” Y/N sipped on her cocktail innocently “for how long exactly.”
“A few months actually. I’m not really sure what’s got into him…. Maybe I should go and check on him?”
“Leave it, Artie. I’m telling you, Todd is one hell of a strange man…..
“Can’t argue with that….” Y/N mumbled, but no one heard her.
“…. A closed book, you could never open unless he lets you in.”
“Right…..” the red head played with her knife, twisting it between her fingers skillfully. “Kyle, I … I really should talk to you in private later.”
“Whatever you have to say, you can do it in front of Y/N.”
“Nah.” Y/N shook her head “I’ll give you two a minute. I need to go to the bathroom either way.”
“I’m sorry Y/N.” Artemis eyed her apologetically.
“It’s all right. Just have your talk, I get it.” Oh, she did get it. Guilt was eating Artemis up and Y/N was definitely not going to be the one to sympathize with her. “Just let me know when you’re done.”
“You got it, pretty. I gotta take you back home safe after all.”
Y/N just send him a light smile and headed towards the bathroom, but before she could reach it, she felt a strong grip on her wrist and was dragged outside.
“What the fuck!?” she hissed, twisting her assaulter arm in a well-trained motion, but it backfired on her, once she noticed who the attacker was. “What the fuck, Jason!?”
“What are you doing with him!?”
“Why do you care?!”
“What are you doing with that pimp!?”
“Pimp?! Oh, I’m sorry, are you speaking from experience? Cause sure as hell you would recognize someone to do it that business.”
“Be careful with words now, princess.” Jason hissed
“Oh, you think you can scare me” she cooed “that is just so. damn. Cute. In case you didn’t notice things have changed. I’m not the helpless girl anymore. Dick….”
“Oh, I know what my brother did. I know he trained you and made you join Titans. Is that how you met Rayner? Are you going out with him now?’
“This is none of your damn business!” she yelled
“Isn’t it?” he hissed taking a step forward, pressing her into the building wall, trapping her between it and his body, her hands pinned on her sides.
“I can still kick your ass, you know.” she struggled against his grip. Damn it, he was strong, that one thing surely did not change.”
“Than do it, I dare you.” he mumbled into her ear and it made her shiver.
Focus Y/N - she thought to herself -remember what he did”
“how is it going with Artemis?” she kept her tone cool, not showing how his proximity was affecting her “she’s worried you don’t love her anymore, you know.” she pouted “such a shame. Wasting perfectly good relationship…. AUCH!” she yelled as Jason pressed her further into the wall, the cold stone hurting her back.
“Do you ever shut up?!” he hissed
“At least I’m running my mouth in all the right places!” she yelled trying to push him off “not where they should never wander!”
“How about I show you were they should wander.” His eyes glistened with lust and she shivered under the weight of it. Oh, hell no!
“Don’t even think about it!” she hissed, but he completely ignored her words, getting closer and closer to her face, his grip becoming iron clad, probably leaving bruises “GET THE FUCK OFF ME! KY….”
Before she could finish yelling the other guy’s name Jason’s lips were already on hers, moving rapidly, hungrily with the intensity that made her melt instantly. And hating herself for that. For a moment she was struggling to break free, but once his hands moved over to her waist, pressing her closer to him, wondering over her entire body, touching all the places only he knew about she completely gave up. Fuck, he just knew her body too well to even try to object. At the moment, her brain just stopped functioning, completely giving in to the desire he was igniting in her.
God, his mouth. His soft mouth, moving against her own, biting on the lower lip, causing her to moan involuntarily and let his tongue inside, exploring and claiming her.
“Jason…” she whined, fisting hands into his jacket, pulling him closer.
“Yes, princess. Keep saying my name. Tell me you missed me the way I missed you….” he tangled one hand in her hair, tilting her head and kissing her neck, sucking on the sensitive skin and leaving a hickey. "Tell me….” He panted against her skin.
“I… I…..” she whimpered, still fighting not to give in completely, but slowly losing this fight “Fuck….” Poor girl could not hold back a whimper as Jason grabbed the back of her thighs, lifting her up and wrapping her legs around his waist, pressing her into the wall once again, but this time making sure she did not feel any pain.
“Why did you came with that fucker, huh?” he mumbled playing with the hem of her shirt “out of every people on the planet it had to be him?” he grinded against her and damn, it reminded her of all the nights they spend together tangled in the sheets, when he was making her feel so good.
“Jace….” She moaned more, grabbing his neck and putting his mouth back down, kissing him back with desperation and need.
“You’re mine.” He hissed, letting go off her thigs, her whole weight leaning onto the wall as he started unzipping her pants “Fuck, you could have wear a skirt for once. But you know what, I’m actually glad you didn’t. Means you weren’t planning on doing anything with him.” He slid her pants and panties down a bit, putting her feet back onto the ground just to get them all the way to her ankles, getting on her knees in front of her, grabbing her ass now. “God I missed this. I missed you.” he breathed, kissing her leg up, slowly, tentatively, getting towards her inside thigh and stopping there for a second.
“Please…. “ she buckled her hips, head falling back and banging against the concrete. She didn’t care if anyone saw them here in quite compromising position. She needed him. She wanted him. She craved the way he always knew how to please her, how to satisfy her hunger “Please Jason….”
“What do you need princess?” he licked on her most sensitive part with the precision no one else could even begin to compete with and she let out that little kitten noise that always made him aware of how good he was doing. Jason Todd had a fucking praise kink and his pants were already tight. “tell me. You already got me on my knees, I’m listening.”
“I…I…. Ah! Jason!”
“Yes, princess?” he smirked, sucking on her clit “you’re so wet for me, and god, you taste just delicious….”
“I need you in me, now!”
“I got you covered.” He raised onto his feet, unzipping his own pants, ready for action, once again lifting her up, spreading her wide and pushing in. Fuck, he was fucking her in a public place and what spurred him on even more was that she let him. He made a mistake of ever letting her go. Of cheating on her. He would do everything to get her back, to make her forgive him, to come back into her life. Anything. Artemis might have been hot and good in bed, but Y/n and him shared a connection,  a deep bond, they had history. Surely that must have meant something to her, right? Right?
They were going to talk later and he would explain everything, begging for her but as for now all the was focused on was making her cum, reminding her how good he could make her feel. He. No one else. Not Rayner or any other fucker. He. Jason Todd. The one bound to her, left at her mercy.
God, she felt so good, so tight, so warm around him when he was snapping his hips against her, getting lost in all the sweet sounds she was making for him.
“Baby….” He whispered kissing her with undeniable passion ‘you’re mine….. you’re only mine. Say it. Tell me you still love me. ” he begged slowly losing his mind over the sensations
“I…. Ah! Don’t stop. Jace. Fuck, don’t stop” she pressed herself onto him, picking up the pace, fire inside her begging to be released. “Please, please, oh, please, Jace.” He nails dig into his back and he welcomed that familiar pain.
“Come for me, baby. Let me feel you.”
“So… close… “ she panted, her breath ragged.
“I’m the only one who can make you feel like this.  Make you cum so fast, so hard. No one else. Not a one-night stand and definitely not Rayner.”
“Oh, fuck, fuck!” she screamed as he finally took her over the edge, her orgasm overwhelming her whole, her body shaking in his arms as he held her tight, caressing her back and sides, whispering praises and sweet nothings into her ear, following soon after, coming inside her. What he didn’t know was that she screamed not only because of the intensity of the orgasm, but also because she realized Kyle was still inside the diner. With Artemis. Artemis with whom Jason cheated Y/N on.
Fuck, he made a terrible mistake.
“Princess” Jason mumbled, still bemused by claiming her like this, pretty sure now that he made her come they would talk and clear things out “I love you….”
“Fuck you, Todd!” much to his surprise she pushed him away, tear gathering in her eyes.
“I don’t …. What….?”
“You fucking idiot! You stupid scumbag!” she cried out, bending for her pants and panties and putting them back on. God, she fell for him again. stupid, stupid, stupid
“Baby….” He reached for her cheek, but she slapped his hand hard
“Get away from me! I’m warning you.”
“But I …. I….. I want you back….” He stuttered “I’m sorry for what I did, I am. Losing you made me realize…”
“Oh just shut the fuck up. You used me. Again .That’s all  it was. And fuck, I let you. And hey, you just cheated on your girl, who you previously cheated with. Funny, isn’t it?” she smiled sourly, wiping away the tears. “Guess the history repeat itself. Once a cheater, always a cheater. Anyway, I am going home….”
“At least let me take you.” his eyes were futilely searching hers “We can talk when you calm down, baby.
“Talk!?” she snapped “I don’t ever, ever, ever, want to see you again! And I can go by myself, definitely not with you. Good luck explaining to Kyle and …. Her… where I went.” She turned on her feet, angrily walking away.
He fucked up. Again .
***
“Dick…..” she showed up on her best friend’s doorstep, shaking, crying, freezing to death.
“Y/N? What happened?” Dick instantly pull her into his chest and inside, rubbing her back just to warm her up a bit.
“I…. I did something terrible. I… I let….”
“Shh…” Dick cooed “breathe. Just breathe, all right? I’ll get you something to drink, you will take a shower and some rest and then tell me, ok?”
“O.. ok…” she stuttered
“Whatever happened, whatever Jason did to you, I’m here. I’ll help you.”
“How….how do you know…..?”
“I know you are not shaking like that because of Kyle. He’s a prick but he wouldn’t hurt you. My brother on the other side…” he shook his head “I guess I will have to kill him.”
“No, please, just stay with me.” She clung onto him desperately searching for safety and reassurance "I don;t want to be alone...." her sob was just so terrible it made Dick tighten the hug.
“I’m not going anywhere. At least for now…..”
To be continued?

tw: stalking, grooming, pedophilia, sexual abuse, past suicidal thoughts
I've recently been made aware that Dupsy is still talking about me and is now going to random Megamind fans that don't know me and telling them to avoid me. I'm also aware that they're doing this in the Ruby Gillman fandom. I have no words to really describe the level of discomfort this brings me, but I will attempt.
First of all, all the "grooming" allegations were thoroughly debunked and proven to be bullshit. I can't believe I have to even say this. I'm a victim of grooming and sexual abuse myself. It's extremely traumatic and life-altering shit, and never something I would want to inflict on someone else. I feel like it should be obvious, with the measures I took in the server to ensure no child is exposed to such things. I was recently diagnosed with PTSD due to the shit that happened to me when I was growing up, and between processing that in therapy sessions and stomaching transitioning in a near-constant hostile-to-trans-people online social media hellscape, I am tired.
I love Megamind, more than anything, and this is known and obvious to anyone who's met me. This movie saved my life when I was extremely suicidal and planning to end my life back in 2010. Watching the movie when I did gave me something to focus on, a distraction, and a responsibility as a fandom member that helped distract me long enough to get out of the planning mindset I was in. Had I not seen the movie, I do not think I would have stuck around. I will leave it at that.
And moderating fandom spaces for Megamind has been lovely! I adore this fandom. The people in it are extremely talented and sweet, and just so damn nice, like by default. I say this all the time but I've never experienced another fandom space quite like it. There are usually bad eggs in fandoms, and perhaps -I- am said "bad egg" to some, but genuinely this one is special. I have always felt that way, even when the bad eggs show up and make a stink. It has always felt worth being here for, to me.
And while I hate to give Dupsy the satisfaction of knowing they hurt me, I need to be honest-- it's been rough. I stopped talking in my server, I locked up on most of my friends and stopped talking even in DMs. I still struggle with severe anxiety in the server and have talked to Dal on various occasions about transferring the server ownership to him. He's been very patient with my freakouts and super understanding, but it's still hard. This WAS a place I felt safe, for over ten years! And now it feels like any minor can just say I'm a groomer or a pedo or whatever with ZERO consequences, just because they're mad, just because these are words that make people go "oh shit" and listen, and man! It's not ok! And this coupled with the fact that trans people are often called groomers just for existing, just… man! I'm tired. I'm so tired.
There are real, severe, damaging effects to these claims being thrown around so casually. It's hurtful to me, as a victim of sexual abuse, because when I came forward to people about what happened when -I- was a minor, I was told I "wanted it" and "asked for it". It was made to be my fault that I was abused, and I internalized it for years. It nearly killed me. I cannot stress enough how important it is to not use claims like pedophilia and grooming so lightly-- these are VERY damning terms to use on people and should be reserved for people ACTUALLY HARMING OTHERS. Being mad I banned you from the server is not "abuse" and using my Customer Service Voice to be nice to you and then being obviously tired of you when you were banned is not "emotional grooming". What the actual fuck. ALSO. This was well over a year ago! Why am I still having to post about this? Why are you still TALKING about me? And yet again I ask, where the HELL are your parents?
Anyway, if you've been wondering why I've been so quiet these days and struggling to socialize… honestly? It's this. I hate that this is what did it. I know people trust and believe me, I know the fandom backs me up regularly and I appreciate them all so much for it. I see it, but I never know how to respond. You guys continue to make this fandom feel safe for me even when my entire brain is screaming to run, and I appreciate you so much for it.
Kids deserve to be trusted when they tell people they've been hurt and I hate that the recent proshipping discourse or whatever you want to call it, this culty all-or-nothing shit, has a bunch of minors growing up feeling like EVERYTHING is something to call rapey or predatory, with apparently little room to distinguish when REAL abuse is happening to them. I don't blame anyone for believing Dupsy, and it's honestly better they DO believe all unproven claims of abuse by default, just to stay safe-- but man, it has consequences that follow people, and really should not be a thing to just throw around because you're mad at someone. I just can't believe they're STILL going around and reaching out to strangers telling them to avoid me… like, what the fuck.
I will be ok, I always am eventually, but I needed to say something, because it's honestly been a while since I've said much of anything.
Keep being kind. <3

“We cannot keep stalling mother, Cregan arrives within the month” whispered Daenerys.
“I-I know, but your father-“ replied Vaeryna.
“-Will be angry, but mother he loves you surely he’ll understand,” said Daenerys.
“I just don’t know Dany” muttered Vaeryna.
“It’ll be ok mother” urged Daenerys.
Since the birth of Daenerys, Vaeryna had slowly began to make plans with Jeyne and Cregan on how best to bring her brother back into the fold.
It had taken fourteen years for this plan to come to fruition, she had made numerous visits with Daenerys and Rhaegar to the Vale over the years under the pretence of visiting Jeyne, but really it was too slowly introduce Daenerys and Aegon, in the hopes the two of them would get along.
Jaehaera had once told her that Daenerys was Aegon’s way home, and a marriage between the two was the obvious solution and the fact that he’d unknowingly lived in the North for years and not caused an uprising.
However, there was of course Aegon and Aemond to deal with. As the only living son to Rhaenyra and Daemon her little brother was a threat to the King’s reign and the fact that she colluded with Cregan and Jeyne for almost seventeen years was bound to anger Aemond.
It had taken forever to convince Aemond to consider a potential betrothal between Cregan’s alleged son 'Aaron' and Daenerys.
Aegon of course, was all for it. He saw the marriage as a way to bring the North back into the fold as Cregan had remained staunch in his support of Rhaenyra and had politely declined all invites to Kings Landing since the war had ended.
But 'Aaron' wasn’t Cregan’s son, he was really Aegon and Vaeryna knew if this was going to work then she would need both Aegon and Aemond on her side. But it was working up the courage to tell them which was proving difficult.
Which was why she found herself hiding in the bushes in the gardens, quite ridiculous really considering she was a woman grown. But it just seemed like the perfect place to get away from the rigors of duty and gather ones thoughts.
Apparently, someone else had the same idea, as a shadow loomed over her.
“I noticed someone stole my hiding spot” said Aegon smirking.
“There’s room for two” replied Vaeryna as she shuffled to the side.
“So, what has my twat of brother done now?” asked Aegon as he sat down.
“What makes you think he’s at fault?”.
“What other reason would there be for you hiding in the bushes” mused Aegon.
“I’m hiding because there’s something I need to tell Aemond and he’s not going to very happy when he finds out” replied Vaeryna.
“Your not with child again, are you? I mean it’s not like he can be angry about that considering how regularly he deposits his seed-“
“-No, I’m not with child again” said Vaeryna quietly.
“Then what is it?” asked Aegon.
Never in Vaeryna’s life did she ever think that she would become close to Aegon of all people, but over the years a friendship of sorts had blossomed between them and they would often spend time talking with one another, of course, Aemond didn’t initially like the idea that his wife was spending time with his older brother, and he would get insanely jealous and sulk for hours on end until Vaeryna put every effort into making sure her husband cheered his miserable face up.
“I-Its Aegon” muttered Vaeryna.
“You do realise I’m sat right here”.
“Not you. My brother Aegon” said Vaeryna.
“What about him?”.
“H-He’s alive” whispered Vaeryna looking around cautiously.
“He died in the Gullet” said Aegon furrowing his brow.
“No, he didn’t. We just let everyone think he did” replied Vaeryna.
“Wait, so your brother didn’t actually die?”.
“No, he’s alive. We faked his death” said Vaeryna.
“We?” asked Aegon.
“My mother sent a letter to the Vale asking for my help, but I arrived at the Gullet too late, most of the Velaryon fleet had been destroyed and the survivors from the Triarchy had moved on, I found Vermax and Stormcloud dead on one of the island outcrops, Aegon was there with Jace” said Vaeryna.
“Y-You were there?” exclaimed Aegon.
“Yes, I was. I managed to get Jace and Aegon back to Dragonstone, but Jace later died in my arms” said Vaeryna sadly.
“H-How did he-“
“Shot by arrows, one hit near his heart and he survived long enough t-to m-make it h-home’” sobbed Vaeryna her breath hitching in her throat.
Aegon wrapped an arm around Vaeryna’s shoulders and pulled her close to him.
“What happened after that?” asked Aegon quietly.
“My father initially came up with the idea to fake Aegon’s death, he figured that it would be safer for him. It was only supposed to be temporary until-“
“-The Blacks won the war” said Aegon firmly as Vaeryna nodded.
“I took Aegon back to the Vale with me and we were told to stay there-“
“-So that’s why you never joined the war, I always wondered why. I mean if Vhagar was our biggest, then the Cannibal was your mothers-you were protecting your brother” said Aegon.
“Yes, but then both my father and mother died, and we were stuck in the Vale, with everyone else believing Aegon was dead, and I was the last”.
“Is that why you agreed to marry my brother?” asked Aegon.
“Yes, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I couldn’t risk you coming to the Vale and discovering that my brother was alive, because let’s face it you would have come for me eventually” replied Vaeryna.
“I-Is Aegon still in the Vale?”.
“No. He’s in the North with Cregan Stark” mumbled Vaeryna.
“Isn’t he coming here with his son 'Aaron' to-“ said Aegon the realisation dawning on his face.
“-Yes” nodded Vaeryna.
“Stark doesn’t have a son called 'Aaron', does he?  Because the boy is really Aegon, and your planning to marry Daenerys to her uncle”.
“That was the idea. He’s been in the North for almost seventeen years, he’s no threat to you or your reign” said Vaeryna.
“It doesn’t matter, he’s still the oldest surviving son of your mother, what happens when the Lords that supported her discover that her son lives. We’ve had many years of peace, and whilst I might not be the best King, I will not subject the realm to another war”.
“So, you’re going to have him killed? My brother has committed no crime. He’s spent his childhood in the North, he doesn’t care for the throne, he just wants to come home, please Aegon. He’s all I have left. I can’t lose him” sobbed Vaeryna.
“Obviously Cregan was in on the plan to fake Aegon’s death?” stated Aegon.
“As was Jeyne Arryn” replied Vaeryna.
“My good sister, the Warden of the North and the Lady of the Vale, all guilty of conspiracy against the crown, a crime punishable by death” said Aegon sternly.
“If you desire to punish someone, then you shall punish me alone. I shall not argue, I only ask that my children and Aegon be spared” replied Vaeryna sadly.
“You would sacrifice yourself for them?”
“Yes, I would” confessed Vaeryna as she wiped away the tears rolling down her cheeks.
Aegon’s grip on her shoulder tightened and Vaeryna winced slightly, she desperately wanted to move away, but she couldn’t.
“I will not order your execution”.
“But-“ muttered Vaeryna.
“I-I love you” whispered Aegon.
“What?” gasped Vaeryna.
“Gods not in that way. Aemond would slit my throat, I love you as a sister. I was never a good husband or brother to Helaena, and it fills me with regret everyday that I did not treat her the way she deserved”.
“Oh” uttered Vaeryna.
“I never imagined we would have the friendship that we do, and I know my brother doesn’t like it-but fuck him, anyway what I’m trying to say is that I won’t hurt you or your brother, I love you too much to cause you any pain” said Aegon softly.
“Even though I committed a serious crime?” asked Vaeryna.
“Yes, plus you’ve kept Aegon hidden in the North for the last seventeen years, that’s quite an achievement. Lord Stark must really like you-probably a good idea not to mention that to Aemond though”.
“Cregan is an honourable man, he pledged himself to my mother and when she died, he pledged himself to me as did Jeyne. If you grant the marriage of Aegon to Daenerys, you will have earnt their loyalty and respect” said Vaeryna firmly.
“I’m assuming Dany is aware of 'Aaron’s' true identity?”.
“Yes of course, and Rhaegar also knows” said Vaeryna.
“Oh, seven above, Aemond is going to implode”.
“Now you know why I’m hiding here” muttered Vaeryna.
“I could tell him for you, try and soften the blow a bit” offered Aegon.
“I appreciate your offer” whispered Vaeryna as she grasped Aegon’s hand tightly.
“I mean for all his threats surely; he wouldn’t kill his own brother”.
“Why not? He killed his own nephew and uncle” replied Vaeryna.
“That doesn’t help” exclaimed Aegon.
“No, it does not, I apologize” said Vaeryna.
“Look, he needs to know and soon. Lord Stark will be here within the month, and I’ll need all the time I can get to convince Aemond and the council not to have your brother killed as soon as he steps foot inside the Red Keep” said Aegon.
“Thank you for this Aegon, I truly appreciate it” said Vaeryna as she placed a gentle kiss on Aegon’s cheek.
“If you really wanted to thank me you could always-“ suggested Aegon smirking.
“Don’t push it, besides Aemond would definitely kill you” said Vaeryna.
Tumblr media
“Do you think he’s told him yet?” asked Rhaegar.
“You never know, father might be ok with-“ said Daenerys jumping as the door suddenly flew open and Aemond marched into the room closely followed by Aegon.
“OUT!” shouted Aemond.
“But father-“ urged Rhaegar.
“I SAID OUT” yelled Aemond.
Rhaegar and Daenerys cast their mother a concerned look as they hastily left the room.
“Don’t even think of ordering me out of here” warned Aegon sternly as he shut the door.
“Is it true-what Aegon has just told me and the council?” asked Aemond.
“Yes” replied Vaeryna quietly as she glanced at Aegon who offered a slight smile.
“Almost seventeen years and you’ve been lying to my face”.
“I-I’m sorry, please my love” said Vaeryna softly.
“NO. You do not get to call me that, not after what I’ve just been told. All of your visits to the Vale, and your sneaking around with Jeyne Arryn and Cregan fucking Stark” raged Aemond.
“It wasn’t malicious, I was protecting my brother” replied Vaeryna.
“That boy is a risk to my brothers reign, what of the Lord who supported your mother, what happens when they find out that he’s alive?”
“Nothing will happen, Aegon has promised to swear obedience in front of the Iron Throne, he does not wish incite another war. He just wants to come home” said Vaeryna firmly.
“-And you think that’s enough to assuage those loyal to your mother? They will want that boy on the throne, they will whisper and collude until some cunt gets the bright idea to see their plan to fruition” snapped Aemond.
“No, Aegon does not desire the throne”.
“It doesn’t matter what he wants, it’ll be those around him, dripping their poison in his ear until he has no choice” retorted Aemond.
“He will not rise up against the King, no matter what anyone says” said Vaeryna as she subconsciously moved closer to Aegon.
“If you believe that then you’re a fucking fool, it is not just my brother that’s at risk, it is my niece and our own children. What of Rhaegar? He is heir to the Iron Throne; he will be put to the sword” said Aemond.
“NO. STOP” shouted Vaeryna as she pressed her hands over her ears.
“What’s the matter is the truth to hard to handle, your reckless decision could cost our children their lives” snarled Aemond as he advanced on Vaeryna.
“Aemond that’s enough-“ warned Aegon.
“YOUR NOTHING BUT A LYING DECEITFUL WHORE”
“Now wait just a second, she is nothing of the sort” said Aegon firmly.
“How do I know that? She’s been sneaking around behind my back and conspiring with that northern dog, how do I know that she hasn’t been opening her legs for him too, why else would he go to such lengths”.
“Because he is kind and honourable” sobbed Vaeryna.
“Tell me Ryna, how many of my children are his? How many of them are BASTARDS?”
“None of them are his, I have never taken Cregan to bed. All of the children are yours; you only have to look at them to see the truth of it” replied Vaeryna shaking.
“You’ve been lying to me for almost seventeen years, why should I believe a single word that comes out of your lying mouth”.
“Because I am your wife” cried Vaeryna.
“No wife of mine would ever act in such a manner” snarled Aemond.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” asked Vaeryna.
“You have lied, conspired and risked our children-“
“-No, our children are safe” retorted Vaeryna.
“As soon as your brother arrives in Kings Landing, he’s dead. I’m going to kill him myself”.
“NO” screamed Vaeryna.
“You would seriously put the life of your brother over the lives of your own children?”
“Hang on, no one said anything about killing your children your being rather dramatic there brother” said Aegon.
“YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH”
“No, I will not. I am your King, and you will show me respect” said Aegon sternly.
“I will show respect when you deserve it” snarled Aemond.
“You speak of respect when your screaming at your own wife like a damn banshee, maybe if you took your head out of your arse and actually sat and talked her then you might understand why she did this” replied Aegon.
“What’s there to understand, she lied and now I will deal with it-“
“-No please, Aemond I beg you” pleaded Vaeryna her lip wobbling.
“By order of the King you will not lay a hand on Aegon. The boy will be welcomed to the Red Keep alongside Cregan Stark and his men, the betrothal between Daenerys and Aegon will be given my blessing, and you will not interfere” said Aegon sternly.
“Daenerys is my daughter” snapped Aemond as he picked up a vase and hurled it across the room. Vaeryna jumped as the vase collided with the wall and smashed.
“You need to calm down” ordered Aegon as he placed himself in front of Vaeryna.
“No, she lied to me. I won’t have it. I will-“ balled Aemond as he began tearing the room apart in his temper.
Vaeryna clung to Aegon terrified as they wordlessly watched Aemond destroy everything he could get his hands on.
“Aemond. Stop. Please” said Vaeryna as she reached out and placed her hand on his back.
“DON’T FUCKING TOUCH ME” shouted Aemond as whirled around and pushed Vaeryna away from him and she landed on the floor with a heavy thud.
“AEMOND” yelled Aegon as he shoved his brother away from Vaeryna who was sat on the floor looking up at her husband, the tears running down her face.
Suddenly Aemond seemed to come back to himself, his face once twisted with rage was now filled with regret and concern.
“I-I’m sorry. Vaeryna. Please” exclaimed Aemond.
“Step away from her. NOW” ordered Aegon as he helped Vaeryna off the floor.
“A-Aemond” sobbed Vaeryna her hands clasped to her chest.
“I didn’t mean too, ābrazȳrys” replied Aemond as he reached out towards her. (Wife)
Vaeryna moved away from his grasp and then fled the room, ignoring Aemond and Aegon’s concerned calls.
Tumblr media
Aegon checked Vaeryna’s usual hiding place in the gardens, but she wasn’t there.
“I-Is she there” asked Aemond frantically.
“No” replied Aegon.
“Well Cannibal hasn’t left the-AEGON WHAT THE FUCK” exclaimed Aemond as Aegon tackled him to the ground and punched him in the face.
“YOU FUCKING IDIOT” shouted Aegon.
“Aegon. Stop” gasped Aemond as he grabbed hold of Aegon and rolled him over.
“GET THE FUCK OFF ME” snarled Aegon as he writhed and struggled against his brother’s vice like grip, after a few minutes he managed to wrench himself free and he attempted to punch Aemond again.
“Enough” said Aemond as he attempted to apprehend Aegon once more, but his brother was as slippery as an eel and every attempt Aemond made to subdue him was consistently thwarted.
Eventually the scraping brothers were pulled apart by the Kings Guard.
“You are confined to your chambers until further notice, and I suggest you clean up the mess you made” ordered Aegon as he dusted himself off.
“Brother-“
“-Don’t bother, Ser Colton escort my brother back to his chambers and make sure he stays there until I say otherwise” snarled Aegon as he turned on his heel and stormed away from the gardens.
“Yes, Your Grace” said Ser Colton bowing slightly.
Aemond glared at the Kings Guard but acquiesced and went to his chambers. Now that had calmed down somewhat, he surveyed the damage and cringed.
He’d let his anger get the better of him and worst of all Vaeryna had witnessed it.
Some of the things he’d thrown around the room in his temper were salvageable, but some weren’t, no doubt he would get an ear full off his mother when she found out what had happened, but he couldn’t think about that right now.
After he’d made a decent attempt at cleaning up the mess he made, Aemond sat in front of the fire and thought about Vaeryna and the lie she told. It angered him beyond belief, that she could keep something like that from him, but on some level, he understood why she hadn’t told him.
Especially when his first idea was to kill her brother. Aegon was right he should have sat and listened to Vaeryna instead of kicking off and now she had disappeared, and he was confined to their chambers.
A soft knock on the door broke Aemond out of his reverie, at first, he thought it was his mother coming to scold him for his behaviour but when the door opened her was confronted with the eldest of his daughters.
“Dany” exclaimed Aemond.
“Mother is in a meeting with Aegon and the council” replied Daenerys softly.
“Where was she before that?” asked Aemond.
“With my brothers and sisters,” said Daenerys.
“I should be with your mother in that council meeting”.
“Yes, you should be, but she’s not alone. Rhaegar is with her” muttered Daenerys.
“Good” said Aemond.
“You definitely could have handled that better”.
“I let my anger get the better of me, she lied to me Dany, for the entirety of our marriage, her decision could have placed you and your siblings at risk” explained Aemond.
“If mother had told you from the very beginning, what would you have done?”
“Even though my brother had reclaimed the Iron Throne after the war, his reign was still on shaky ground and the boy would have been a risk” said Aemond honestly.
“So, he would have been killed, and you wonder why mother lied. He’s the only family she had left, Baela and Rhaena don’t bother with her. Imagine how lost and alone she must have felt,” said Daenerys.
“Dany I-“.
“I understand why your angry, but what if the roles were reversed, and all your family had been killed and it was just you and one of your siblings left, how far would you go to ensure their safety?” exclaimed Daenerys.
“So, I just forgive her for lying to me?” asked Aemond.
“I’m asking you to understand the situation she was in, I know all about mother’s first husband and what happened to him-“
“S-She told you?” gasped Aemond.
“You know how close we all are to mother; she is our entire world” replied Daenerys.
“Yes, I know, she’s a good mother to you all” said Aemond smiling slightly.
“Now Imagine how she must have been feeling, of course she was going to do whatever it takes to keep her little brother safe, she even sold herself to the man who killed her own brother and father,” said Daenerys.
“I-I love your mother very much” whispered Aemond as a lone tear trickled down his cheek.
“She loves you too, but mother sacrificed everything for Aegon” replied Daenerys quietly.
“I’ve ruined everything haven’t I” muttered Aemond sadly as he wrenched off his eyepatch.
“All is not lost. You both need time to process what’s happened and then maybe you can talk and try to sort this out”.
“When did my daughter get so grown up?” asked Aemond.
“It happens to us all father” whispered Daenerys as she wrapped her arms around her father and hugged him tightly.
“I love you Issa dōna tala” replied Aemond as he held his daughter close (My sweet daughter)
“Avy jorrāelan tolī kepa” whispered Daenerys (I love you too father).
Tumblr media
It had taken almost a month for the council to stop foaming at the mouth and agree to let Aegon the Younger return to the Red Keep.
Some Lords were of the same opinion as Aemond whereas the others were weary of having the boy executed. Even after all these years there were still supporters of Rhaenyra that existed and having her only son beheaded may cause an uprising.
The loyalty of the North was also a contributing factor to the councils acceptance of Aegon, he wasn’t the biological son of Cregan Stark, but he was raised as such and with the North finally back in the fold, the Vale would soon follow.
Of course, they were insistent that Aegon publicly bend the knee and then he would be kept under close supervision for the entirety of his time in the Red Keep.
Which of course Vaeryna agreed to, but she was insistent that even though he was considered a man grown, Aegon would be placed under her care.
Eventually the day arrived for Cregan Stark and Aegon to arrive and the Red Keep was a buzz with activity, the King insisted on having a great feast and everyone was busy making the preparations.
Rhaegar had insisted that he take Dreamfyre to meet Cregan and his men on the Kings Road and escort them to Kings Landing.
Vaeryna was helping Daenerys get ready and the rest of the children were with their father and Aegon.
“Must I wear this” moaned Jaehaeryn.
“Yes” replied Aemond sternly as his youngest daughter Caelee settled herself on his knee.
“But it itches though”.
“Boy cease your whining; this is an important day for us all and you will wear what we tell you too” snapped Aemond firmly.
“Yes father” muttered Jaehaeryn sulking.
“What’s wrong with my father?” asked Vharla.
“Like he said this is an important day and you all need to be on your best behaviour” urged Jaehaera smiling as she finished twisting Vharla’s wild silver hair into a braid.
“Were not the ones complaining” whispered Aerys.
“Oh, shut up” quipped Jaehaeryn.
“No, you shut up” snarked Aerys sticking his tongue out at his older brother.
“Both of you shush up” said Saeryna as she hoisted herself up on Aegon’s knee.
“Where mama?” Caelee as she rubbed her face on Aemond’s shoulder.
“She’s with Dany, remember I said that your sister is meeting the boy she will marry”.
“O-Our uncle?” asked Caelee.
“Yes, mama’s little brother Aegon” replied Aemond quietly.
“But we already have an uncle Aegon” said Aerys cocking his head to the side.
“I know it’s confusing but-“
“-Obviously I’m the best one” said Aegon loudly.
“You’re the King” said Saeryna.
“Indeed, I am little one” replied Aegon.
“Rhaegar will be King one day” said Jaehaeryn.
“I-If Rhaegar is King then that means uncle Aegon is dead, I don’t want him to die” said Saeryna sadly, her little eyes filling with tears.
“Don’t worry kid, I don’t plan on dying anytime soon” exclaimed Aegon.
“Y-You promise” whispered Saeryna.
“I promise” said Aegon as he hugged his niece tightly.
For all the stupid decisions he'd made, Aegon was quite close to all his nieces and nephews. Saeryna in particular was very fond of her uncle and she would often be found trailing after him asking a million questions or simply wanting him to read stories to her.
In his mind, he couldn't change the past, but he could learn from it, especially with his daughter Jaehaera.
Suddenly the roar of a dragon shook the walls of the Red Keep.
“Dreamfyre’s back” cooed Caelee.
“Right, that means it’s time for us to take our places in the throne room and remember children you need to be on your best behaviour or else” threated Aemond as he stood up with Caelee still clinging to him.
“Come on little Princess, it’s time to go to see your grandmother” whispered Ellen gently.
“No-No I want to stay with daddy” cried Caelee.
“Remember sweet girl, you and Saeryna are going to stay with grandma for a little bit” urged Aemond as he passed his struggling daughter to the nanny.
“But uncle Aegon-“ whined Saeryna.
“Best do as your father says, otherwise he’ll get grumpy, and you know we don’t like a grumpy daddy” mocked Aegon.
“He’s already grumpy-mother won’t let him kiss her” said Jaehaeryn.
“Boy one more word-“ warned Aemond.
“He’s right though, surprised you haven’t sprouted cobwebs down there, how long has it been brother?” whispered Aegon smirking.
“Keep talking and I’ll slap that smirk straight off your face” snapped Aemond.
“Daddy stop being a bully” urged Saeryna.
“Yeah daddy. Stop” mocked Aegon.
Aemond took a deep breath and closed his eye, today was not the day to be trying his patience but his moron of a brother seemed determined to rile him up.
“Right Saeryna, go with Ellen and Caelee. Be good for your grandma” said Aemond sternly.
“I will as long as she doesn’t start talking about the history of the seven, it’s boring” replied Saeryna as she took the nanny’s hand and left the room.
“That girl, honestly” muttered Aemond.
“She’s an absolute diamond, and of course my favourite one of your many children” said Aegon smiling as he smoothed down his robes and put the conquerors crown on his head.
“Right, let’s get this over and done with” muttered Aemond.
“Remember, if you act decent today. Your wife might let you back in her bed”.
“Do not talk that way in front of my children” snapped Aemond.
“Oh, come on brother, you’ve been so frustrated of late, you need to get your end away”.
“Aegon” warned Aemond as he ushered Jaehaeryn, Vharla and Aerys out of the room.
“Must you tease him?” asked Jaehaera as she took her father’s arm.
“Oh, my sweet daughter it’s the best part of my day, surely you cannot deny me the chance to have a little fun” replied Aegon smiling.

Everyone in the throne room waited with bated breath for the arrival of Cregan Stark and Aegon.
Vaeryna fiddled nervously with the rings on her fingers as she stood silently next to Aemond.
Admittedly in Aemond’s mind it was nice to be stood next to his wife, since their argument a month ago they had barely spoke, Vaeryna hadn’t even returned to their shared chambers, she had taken to staying in one of the guest rooms, which upset Aemond more than he wanted to admit, as he couldn’t sleep properly without his wife next to him.
They had remained polite in front of their children at mealtimes but it broke Aemond’s heart when Vaeryna would turn away from him and leave him to return to his chambers alone.
Today was important and Aemond was determined to make things right with his wife.
The doors to the throne room opened.
“Lord Cregan Stark, Warden of the North and Prince Aegon Targaryen”.
Cregan walked into the throne room flanked by his men, Aegon trailed behind his face obscured by his grey hooded cloak.
Vaeryna suddenly took hold of Aemond’s hand and squeezed it gently, and in a show of silent support he squeezed back.
“Jaehaeryn, stop fidgeting” whispered Vaeryna softly.
“But mother, I’m too hot and it itches” replied Jaehaeryn.
“Boy, listen to your mother” warned Aemond.
“-But father” moaned Jaehaeryn.
“Brother that’s enough” snapped Rhaegar.
“Welcome Lord Stark, I trust your journey from the North wasn’t too perilous?”
“No, Your Grace it was fine and thank you for inviting us to Kings landing” replied Cregan his deep voice echoing around the throne room.
Vaeryna was nervous as her brother stepped forward and there was an audible gasp when Aegon removed his hood.
His short roughly shorn silver hair tumbled over his forehead, and even though there was slight narrowing to his face, he was the exact mirror image of his father Daemon.
The Rogue Prince come again.
His piercing amethyst eyes never left the King as he lowered himself to one knee.
“I Aegon the Younger of House Targaryen, recognise and pledge my loyalty to you, Aegon of House Targaryen the second of his name, King of the andals, rhoynar and the first men, Lord of the seven Kingdoms and Protector of the realm” said Aegon loudly as he bowed his head.
The King pursed his lips for a moment before he levered himself off the Iron Throne and walked slowly down the steps.
Aemond kept hold of Vaeryna’s hand as she moved forward slightly.
“Don’t” whispered Aemond his eye never leaving the King.
Vaeryna watched anxiously as the King approached her brother.
“Rise” said Aegon sternly.
Aegon the Younger slowly stood up and was stunned when the King offered his hand.
“I accept your pledge of loyalty and welcome you to Kings Landing”.
“Thank you. Your Grace” replied Aegon as he shook the Kings hand.
“Do not make me regret this.
“You won’t, I can promise you that Your Grace” replied Aegon.
The members of the court who had been stood in silence, began to applaud.
Vaeryna let out the breath she didn’t realise she was holding when her little brother looked at her and smiled.
“Sister”
“Brother” exclaimed Vaeryna as she let go of Aemond’s hand and ran towards her brother engulfing him in a tight hug.
“I missed you so much” exclaimed Aegon as he buried his face in Vaeryna’s silver hair.
“-And I’ve missed you” replied Vaeryna.
“I cannot thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me” said Aegon.
“Your my little brother, I would do anything for you”.
“Daenerys” gasped Aegon his eyes alight with wonder and awe as he caught sight of his betrothed.
“Hello Aegon-” whispered Daenerys shyly.
“-Brother, this is Aemond” said Vaeryna.
Aegon visibly blanched a little at the mention of Aemond’s name and he stood rooted to the spot as his gaze caught sight of Dark Sister resting in the holster on Aemond’s hip.
“Pleasure to me you Prince Aemond” said Aegon politely bowing his head.
“Aegon” said Aemond nodding his head sharply.
Vaeryna and turned to face Cregan who was deep in conversation with the King.
“Lord Stark” said Vaeryna politely.
“Princess” replied Cregan smiling as he wrapped Vaeryna in a one-armed hug, ignoring Aemond’s noise of protest in the background.
“Thank you for everything” whispered Vaeryna.
“Your welcome” said Cregan.
“Oh where are my manners, obviously you know Rhaegar and Dany, but these are my sons Jaehaeryn and Aerys-“
“-Pleasure to meet you both” said Cregan nodding his head.
“-And this is my daughter Vharla, you’ll meet my other daughters Saeryna and Caelee later at the feast” exclaimed Vaeryna.
“-Beautiful, just like your mother”.
“Hello My Lord” said Vharla politely.
“I would also like to introduce my husband, Prince Aemond”.
“Prince Aemond-” muttered Cregan flatly.
“-Lord Stark” replied Aemond through gritted teeth.
“Right, now that introductions have been made, I think it’s time I made an announcement” said Aegon firmly as he retook his seat on the Iron Throne.
The lively chatter in the throne room quickly quietened down in anticipation of the Kings announcement.
“Today has been a great for welcoming back a brother and making new allies, discussions are currently underway with Lord Stark to further solidify the North’s relationship with the crown and to further unite House Targaryen, it is my pleasure to give my blessing for a marriage between my niece Princess Daenerys and my nephew Aegon the Younger”.
The throne room erupted into thunderous applause as Aegon bowed to Daenerys and presented her with a courtship gift, a brooch emblazoned with the Targaryen sigil.
Vaeryna smiled as she recognised the brooch that once belonged to their mother.
After almost seventeen years, she had kept her promise to her mother. Aegon was safe and he was home.
