If Ashlyn Banner was a character in a typical magic manhwa she would be the cool mage that remained isolated in the tower for over a decade without any sort of human contact until they were forced to due to the MC’s stupidity or in her case, Aiden’s shenanigans.

She would subsequently be roped into the chaos against her will, all while trying to figure out how to properly interact with real people after all this time and trying to protect this rag-tag group of people with varying backgrounds from certain death.

Aiden would be the crown prince who hated his position and responsibilities after the war so much he decided to become an explorer. It was a risky business with so many unexplored magical lands so it was right up in his alley but his parents only agreed to let him go if he brought his cousin Ben with him as a companion. Ben would be the powerful knight who was heavily traumatized and rendered mute during the war, working on finding himself once more while he and Aiden explored the world together.

Tyler would be the promising young knight who's trying to gain some prestige in order to take care of his family. Taylor would run the repair shop their dad left them but struggled to find a lot of customers due to the stigma that a woman couldn't possibly be strong enough or smart enough to do good repairs. The repair shop was incidentally right across the flower shop Logan's parents ran while he studied something with math or science at a fancy school and occasionally came by to help.

And the Crane Cult are the Big Bad™ that are using a blood sacrifices to call on the power of a higher being or something like that. And they wear bird masks of course.

- hey so I haven't seen an interpretation of the bar scenes in Half that I fully agree with, so I wanted to throw my own two cents out there into the void and pray that it makes sense !!!

so, in the bar scenes in Half we see what I interpret as a hangout with old friends (or, hangout with old friend + his wife.) These scenes used to be the biggest piece of evidence for the cheater theory, but now that that's been debunked by the man himself, I have a new way of looking at them

~ before I go any further, I just wanted to say that I'll be calling the brown-haired woman whiskey for simplicity's sake

In this scene, Kazui turns to look at Whiskey, saying the lyrics:

"laughing together, side by side, this distance in our relationship is misleading me, is this what happiness is?"

With my guess (cuz that's really what it is there's no evidence for it) that Whiskey is the Bartender's wife i think this scene is Kazui being conflicted with what he's been told is true, that marrying Hinako is "true love", versus what he feels is true, that marrying Hinako has brought distance into their relationship.

He looks at Whiskey, a woman happily married, and wonders why his relationship with Hinako isn't like that.

in this post he points out that Hinako and Kazui's rings are silver in Cat, not gold like they were in Half, yet Bartender's ring colour stays the same.

For the sake of this writing I'm going to go with the first meaning they put out, that Bartender's ring is gold because his marriage is genuine.

But wait!! I hear you ask. This is Half and Kazui's ring is still gold in Half!! EXACTLY MY FRIEND!!

Kazui's ring IS still gold in Half because at the time of these scenes he's still fooling himself that this relationship is good, that he will eventually garner real romantic feelings for Hianko.

Remember this lyric that plays during the Whiskey -> Hinako scene. You know what other scene in Half this lyric reminds me of?

He's beginning to doubt if what he believes is true, he's beginning to believe the feelings telling him something's wrong (and remember, the scene right after this one is when he confesses (?) his secret to Hinako) ARE infact true, and that maybe the logic he's been following for so long has a couple holes in it.

I think these scenes are meant to show Kazui gradually realising that his relationship with Hinako will not work out. It just won't, no matter how hard he tries.

He's able to laugh together and talk with Whiskey because she's his friend, yet he can't do the same with his own wife? Even though, according to his gold ring, their relationship is supposed to be real and true and genuine?

Did you hear the rumor that Alicent continues her affair with Criston after Episode 1 and becomes pregnant with his child, but eventually takes moon tea to end the pregnancy. Given that she's in her thirties and already has four healthy children, it's not entirely impossible. If this rumor turns out to be true, how do you think it would impact her character and her relationship with Cole? I doubt she would want to have a child during wartime, especially an illegitimate one

Ehm, no? Where did you read/hear that rumor?

I mean, some mutuals and I have discussed the possibility of Alicent brewing her own moon tea after she sleeps with Criston to avoid any complications such as a pregnancy that she could not explain (or maybe the show will invent a reason why Alicent does not need to keep on drinking moon tea anymore. Maybe the maesters have told her she will no longer be able to have children? So she feels that from that aspect at least her affair with Criston can't become known).

Now, we may see her drink moon tea in the show, but a whole pregnancy? During the Dance? I doubt it (although I'm starting to fear that the writers are capable of everything).

I don't think there will be enough narrative time to explore this trope in S2 because of the overload of canon events the producers have to get through by the time S2 ends. I don't think we'd go down the pregnancy lane with Alicole (and tbh, I'm glad if we won't because it would soapify the show by a mile).

If we get to see Alicent pregnant in the show, I don't even know what the writers will do with it. It is impossible for me to predict Alicent's or Criston's reactions because I just can't fathom it. I mean, I assume that Alicent will tell Criston and then tell him why she has to drink moon tea and abort the pregnancy. Will that make him mad? Idk. Would Alicent want to give birth to this child? No idea. It's just out of my processing power at the moment. I think that a pregnancy can't be written in S2 (or S3 for that matter) because where will Alicent go to give birth? Back to Oldtown? Or will she decide to not hide herself and blatantly stay in KL? (Good for her actually, that would be a turning point in her character). Will she realize she's pregnant during her imprisonment?! (I don't even want to think about that).

Overall, I don't know. It would mess up the show too much for me and I don't think the writers are going in this direction either way.
