I know this is gonna show my age, but one of my most vivid memories when it comes to physical media is not only the “from the magic within our hearts” speech from Disney that played on some of the old VHS tapes, or the sound of a VHS tape being put into a player. 

My most vivid memory when it comes to physical media, was when me and my siblings would be watching a movie together, and then we’d hear that dreaded announcement:

“This Disney DVD, is enhanced with Disney’s fast play!” 

Never have me and my siblings ever so spontaneously operated as a search and find unit as efficiently as when this god forsaken speech would come jumping at us when we least expected it. 

Yeah streaming services are cool, they make watching things easier since all the shows/movies/series are all organised in one place, but there was just something about going to a shop or into town as an excited kid with your parent and picking a movie you really liked off the shelf to take home (also you didn’t have to pay a stupidly monthly subscription, you just brought the thing and boom, done and dusted it’s yours)
