Idw Rodimus is so high up the chain of command that even Prowl doesn't outrank him. Prowl even admits to not outranking him, and this was back when he was still Hot Rod.
Which makes the Overlord incident worse because he wasn't ever under the remotest pressure to follow Prowl's orders, Prowl has no authority over him and likely never did.
Autobot High Command members, as of Chaos Theory:
Optimus, Ultra Magnus, Prowl, Rodimus, Xaaron, Bumblebee.
Two are his subordinates on the Lost Light, two are people he regularly argues with. Optimus is the only one who can technically give him orders and expect them to be followed, and I say technically because he only actually follows them about half the time. The other half is divided between 15% screaming accusation, 15% passive aggressive attitude, 25% outright disagreement, 35% I heard you but I'm gonna do my own thing (with a healthy mix of yeah I know my own thing is insane but I'm gonna do it anyway), and 10% silent ghosting.
Then once he gets aboard the Lost Light it's 98% ghosting with 1% awarded to his (albeit minimal) effort to restablish radio contact with Cybertron after take-off. The other 1% goes to picking up Optimus' facetime call when Optimus wanted him to come back for Caminus' intergration ceremony, even if it was just to say no and complain about the co-captain arrangement.
That was the last time he saw Optimus alive, I think.

Hi it's just to let you know that the official romanization of Revaan's name is Raverne ! Also they have romanized Baul's name to Baur !
Twst coming back at us again with the least expected romanization! thank you everybody (oh god my inbox) (no it's great, I literally asked for this and the reactions have been INCREDIBLE, thank you all!)
I do like Raverne though, I think it's got a nice fancy sound to it! (I had kinda suspected it was going to be an R instead of an L, so the fact that it's SO close to Laverne except for that is hilarious to me personally.) and Dragoneye Duke is honestly probably the best translation for his title, I wasn't envying the localizers that one. :') Baur instead of Baul I was NOT expecting, but in retrospect I think his name's supposed to be a reference to the Bauru crocodile, so that actually makes way more sense!
someone else also said Meleanor has become Maleanor, which is the REALLY weird one to me, because I was so surprised it was written as Mel instead of Mal in the first place?! oh god no I can't decide which one I like better. 😭 (I wonder if they might change it to Mal...they have made romanization changes before) (like I remember House of Distraction being corrected to House of Destruction in Playful Land) (I did check and she's still Mel for now, but I dunno, they might Mal her up and some point and save me from having to make a decision about which one to use) (HECK I CAN'T DECIDE)
uhhhh thank you for letting me ramble about anime names, let's just say MONOGRAMMED SWEATERS FOR EVERYONE

MDZS AU where Jiang Cheng realizes that Lan Sizhui is the Wen orphan that Wei Wuxian took care off during the Burial Mounds arc, decides that's close enough to qualify him as Nephew, declares that no Nephew of His (much less a surrogate son of Wei Wuxian's) is going to be raised in the Cloud Recedes, and immediately launches into a custody battle with Lan Wangji.
But since neither Jiang Cheng or Lan Wangji can acknowledge that Sizuhi has any connection to Wei Wuxian, both begin steadfastly and stubbornly insisting that he is a Cultivator of peerless potential and skill and he belongs in their sect thank you very much, and would clearly be very unhappy in the other's. This confuses the hell out of the already mystified Cultivation world, who had barely adjusted yet to gossiping about Sizhui being Wangji's illegitimate child by mysterious love affair.
(Eventually the common consensus in the rumor mills is that both JC and LW where in love with Sizhui's mother and both believe themselves to be Sizhui's real father.)
(LW couldn't care less what gossips say, but JC has to bite his tongue till it bleeds to avoid telling anyone the truth in a fit of anger.)
(It was Nie Huaisang who put that rumor out in the first place, partly to troll JC, partly because, in a way, it's a little true.)

I am so tired of seeing arguments against J/C, saying that Kate never wanted them together on Voyager because it would blah blah blah. Guess what? We are in agreement and we understand why it was necessary, especially when you consider the context of the time when the show was made. We fully support why it had to be done that way back then.
But times change; narratives and characters evolve, and views and perceptions shift. If anything, Voyager's inability to ever have two adult characters discuss their feelings ended up falling into another trap - they had Chakotay go after the 'prettier and younger' girl. You know what kind of message that sent to girls and women? You can have the most profound relationship in the universe with someone, yet he will still pick the prettier girl over you, even if they have nothing in common.
Prodigy had the perfect opportunity to subvert expectations by making them canon because, in retrospect, the 'will they, won't they' dynamic was predictable.
It was stated multiple times that they were afraid it would completely take over the show, but I don’t see almost anyone mentioning that this is exactly what happened with Wesley. Every podcast I listen to spends 50% of the time talking about Wesley, while the main Protostar crew is hardly ever discussed. J/C is also mentioned in passing. It all became about Wesley. In trying so hard to avoid falling into the imaginary J/C trap, they ended up in a much worse one, where all any Trek fan wants to talk about isn’t the Protostar kids or J/C, but Wesley and Wil Wheaton.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

something I think people forget re: taboo fiction or art is how formative it often is for children; either by contrasting normality, or highlighting the absence of it: making kids more aware of their reality and could-be realities, testing the waters of their imagination, warming up their empathy-drive. it’s about understanding, of situations and of character, of choices made then un-made. yapping here but I’m thinking of my childhood best friend telling me in hushed tones about flowers in the attic, or us huddled together watching the phantom of the opera and wishing this time Christine will choose her ostensible (objective) abuser—who we couldn’t help but see our own insecurities in, feel connected to on account of otherness and being othered; I remember talking to her about the peach scene in call me by your name (book not movie; our friendship had stalled by that point) and that one wattpad story where a man kidnapped four girls he named after flowers and raped them; writing our own stories about torn bodies and ghosts and angels who can’t be good and magic that only ruins everything and love that is hurtful more than it is pure — stories that, to us, didn’t reflect on something miserable, only something true. I don’t know. we had only so many words/worlds to grow into; art as expression, not representation

I’m in a phase of perceiving Hallow that I’m calling the “geriatric baby” phase. I’ve now had Hallow longer than I had Hank or Jackalope and I can tell that my relatively brief time with them seriously altered my subconscious expectations of what time I think I will have with Hallow. I know she’s a very young dog- she’s just now the age that Hank and Jack were when I met them- but she also feels ancient to me.
The feeling will pass, probably. It’s just weird right now.
