Distraction

"Caspian," Azul's voice, more harsh than normal, snaped Caspian back to reality. He blinked and looked up at him, a small scowl on his lips.

"What?" He grumbled, raising an eyebrow at the slightest bit of concern on Azul's face.

"I've been talking to you for the past five minutes; are you alright? You seem more distracted than normal."

Caspian shrugged and picked up his cup of coffee to take a sip, cringing slightly when he realized it'd gone cold. "I was just lost in thought. Is that so wrong?"

Azul raised an eyebrow, a grin tugging his lips. "Oh? What about?"

"None of your business," Caspian shot back, leaning back against the seat in the Lounge and pulling out his phone. He glanced up at Azul to see him rolling his eyes and sighing, chuckling a little before looking back at his phone. "What were you saying, 'Zul?"

"Ugh. Like I was saying, the Lounge needs more workers..."

Caspian quickly stopped listening as a message from Kalim popped up on his notification bar, quickly tapping onto to pull up his contact.

Sunshine: hey! I was thinking, wanna go shopping later this week?

Sunshine: ooh! Or maybe later today?

Sunshine: what's your schedule look like today??

He smiled softly, quickly typing out a reply.

Caspian: I'd be up to shopping later today. My classes should be all done at around 3 today. Sound good?

He replied not even a minute later.

Sunshine: yay!! That sounds perfect!!

Sunshine: I'll come and get you at around 3 then! I'll head over to Octavinelle when it's time!

Sunshine: I'm so excited to see you! It's been a while since we've hung out together!

Caspian: It's only been a couple days, you know. What, you obsessed with me?

Sunshine: yeah!!

He blinked once. Twice.

Did he just...

Sunshine: you're a really good friend of mine, why wouldn't I be obsessed with you??

Sunshine: I'll get dinner for us, too, when we go out!

He stared at his phone for a minute or so, staring at the heart emoji Kalim had sent him. His cheeks were flushed pink.

Finally, he took in a breath, and typed out his reply.

Caspian: See you soon, Kalim

"Caspian," Azul sighed in exasperation. "Can you please pay attention? What's so interesting on your phone?"

He tilted his head upon seeing Caspian's flushed cheeks. His eyes narrowed, and a sly grin formed on his face.

"What could my dear little brother be looking at, hm?" He teased, leaning over the table to try and glance at Caspian's phone.

"None of your business," Caspian snapped, standing up and adjusting his glasses. "I've gotta go. Class."

"Ah- I suppose," Azul sighed, watching him walk out of the Lounge. He silently shook his head and began sorting through the papers in the table. "I hope whatever it was is worth it for you."
