I can't really explain why. I have never seen this movie, but the dvd cover of Dennis Quaid and Rene Russo trying desperately to hold two doors closed with a giant army of children peeking behind them is just an ingrained memory in my head.

So take this goofy little piece I did instead of writing their story. XD

Could have redone the poses in the middle of the frazzled parents, but decided Judy and Max being romantic in the center was more fitting.

Someone's in the diner with Darla

For @ria-coolgirl I hope you enjoy this little scene of Darla and Paul at 'The Cosmic Spoon'. A silly 50s space themed inspired malt shop I made up. Just imagine the other boys are off screen, they're never too far away after all. XD

And with their presences brings out Layla Fairbourne. Her and Darla are best buds, and she's probably teasing Darla over dating who is essentially her annoying brother. XD

Cars of Personality (Lost Boys ocs)

So you know I've been thinking about character design again, and some thing that's really fun to explore is how much a character's personality can be built in, not just their own personal style but also the style of everything else in their lives. Their occupations, their home decor, and of course their vehicle of choice.

I like cars, so just for funsies here's my lost boys ocs and their cars. Because imma be real, 50s-70s are peak car designs, with some in the 80s as well.

For Judy, a 1974 Jeep Wagoneer. Just the thing a practical mother of four needs. I also like the yellow color so the pic is pretty accurate.

For Layla, a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle. Judy helped her get the car after she got a job so Hailey wouldn't have to drive her back and forth all the time. A cute little classic car, I'm thinking a pastel peach color, or maybe light blue.

For Hailey, a 1980 Mustang Ghia Coupe. First to get her license, she bought this stylish little car with money she saved from various odd jobs. As the first daughter with a car Hailey did a lot of the running around when her mother couldn't. That included taking her sisters to work until they got their own. The color would be silver, or even black.

Aubrey doesn't have a car, or a bike for that matter, but throughout my lost boys fic she's saving up to buy her own motorcycle. 1987 Honda Super Magna. The color would be this blazing hot rod red.

And for a bonus one I guess, lol, my witch trio travel around in a 1975 Ford LTD Wagon. The car belongs to Stevie and is very spacious for all them. I'm thinking of giving Maryanne and Blair cars as well, but to keep things simple as they travel, one car is enough.

So there you go. So what do you guys think? What kinda ride your ocs/sonas cruise though California in?

Ok, hear me out

My sister shows interest when I'm talking about my lost boys ocs and she's gotten into the movie recently, so she asked if I'd help her design an oc of her own!

Keep in mind I want her hair to be white, grey, and black (salt and black) peppered hair, but I could not figure out how to do that. ;^;

This is Judy Fairbourne, but she's not your typical 80s milf. She's a lycan. Basically a werewolf, but with the ability to transform into either a bipedal beast or a giant wolf at will. And the whole idea for her has to do with this lovely gentleman right here!

Cause old men vampires need love too, lmao!

Judy is a single mom of four daughters. 18 year old triplets named Layla, Hailey, and Audrey and a little 9 year old younger sister named Heidi. She's the mama of a wolf pack, and I honestly just love the idea of Max having his weird little family. Plus, the lost boys being protective older brothers warms my heart!

The boys arrive to crash at Max's house for a while and hang out with Judy and her daughters. While there, Marko gives Thorn a dog bone and Paul thinks it's a great idea to give a femur bone to Aubrey. Aubrey: "What the hell is that?" Paul: "It's a human bone. You know, for you and your sisters." Audrey is visibly cross. Aubrey: "I'm not a damn dog you bone-head." Paul cocks an eyebrow. Paul: "So...you don't want it? Cause I'm sure Marko can-" He asks waving it. Suddenly Audrey snatches it and turns around. Aubrey: "No, it's mine now! Piss off!" She snaps back while hiding her blush. Paul just smugly smirks at her.

Are The Lost Boys Poly or Platonic?

Answer - Yes?

If I could lore dump a little, I'd like to add after seeing discussion on this topic:

When I created my trio of lost boys ocs (Blair Stevie and Mavin) to write a love story between them +star and the boys, I thought making them all poly would be more interesting to write about. See I don't much care for writing and art that involved the boys all sharing a single (usually woman) stand in where all the romantic stuff is done by one or more boy at a time with this stand in while the others just kinda wait their turn. OC, self-insert, reader insert or otherwise. It always came off to me as harem-ish and there's nothing wrong with that OF COURSE, it's just not what I'm into.

And with my ocs specifically, I also could have gone the hetero monogamous route, since there are 4 women and 4 boys. That being Blair with David, Stevie with Dwayne, Star with Paul (which I really do ship btw), and Mavin with Marko but the lost boys always had this queer coded side (even though I am shipping them with women) and having my girls, Blair specifically being a bisexual women who falls in love with Star is something I wanted to focus on, not to mention I like my ocs with all the boys. I think they can get a different equal level of romantic enjoyment with a different boy, and therefore my girls are poly with the boys as well as Star. Standard convention of romance kinda seems like a nebulous rule to follow when you have immortal vampires and witches in the mix, so why not make them all bi and poly?

Now of course, I do have a story in the works where everyone is one big platonic family. Judy and her daughters. 'The blood sucking brady bunch' as I've so affectionally called them. In this work, Judy and Max are romantically involved but they're the only non platonic ones as the boys acting as Max's sons and Judy's actual daughters begin to pal around like step siblings and they behave as such. In that work, I also put a lot of emphasize on familial love with Judy being a caring mother who would do anything for her children and having her take in the boys as sons she never had. I also want to see Judy pull Max out of his shell. He kinda distances himself from the boys and to him it's for their own good and keeps him out of the trouble they're always getting into, but Judy knows what's it like having 3 teenage daughters of her own that get into trouble. Max is a much more involved father figure to the boys with Judy's help as well as a figure to her little girls.

Ok, so I dumped a lot there, but I hope this shows that writing to boys platonic or non platonic are both valid and depend on the work they're used in. XD

Dream A Little Dream

It's late and sleeping all day and partying all night is for the vampires. Werewolves are a different breed. XD

Why I like drawing my ocs in their pajamas is a mystery to me. They're just too much fun to do, idk.

🐚 As Open As The Sea 🐚

What started as a picrew, I finally made Alisha a ref!

Since you guys LOVED my Layla working in a malt shop idea, I decided to make Alisha the counter girl of Sunset Sweets. The town candy shop. :3 A must stop spot for children and tourists that sells all kinds of candy, chocolate, homemade fudge, ice cream, and soda.

The first outfit is her candy uniform. I couldn't decide on a good casual fun outfit, so I drew a bunch. XD

I think it'd be fun to make Alisha Barbero and her family to be merpeople/sirens or some other type of monstrous ocean creatures that can take human form and walk on land.

Lost Girls?

It took some time, but I finally got the designs for my sisters Lost Boys OC family done! :3

On the top, we got the mama herself, Judy. Top right is her 6 year daughter named Heidi. I love her ringlets! And on the bottom are the 18 year old triplets, Layla, Hailey, and Aubrey in that order!

Top left is a lycan mark I doodled cause I thought it'd be cool for them all to have this mark.

On Judy, it's on her shoulder blade on her back. For Heidi it's on her ankle. Layla's can be seen on her shoulder. Hailey's is on her wrist, and Aubrey's can be seen slightly, it's on her neck.

I really like these gals, and their dynamics with the boys as sisters bring up so many funny situations.

They've been so much fun to design and talk about. <3 <3 <3

Working Class Women

Finally got Judy, Hailey, Layla, and Aubrey in their uniforms done. :3 Read more for their job descriptions. ;3

I mean, they got to bring in money somehow. XD

Judy herself owns and runs a local butcher shop called "Bare Bones Butchery". A meat shop where you can watch her prepare extremely fresh meat right there on the counter. Much of her inventory is sent in from packing plants and slaughterhouses, but Judy's shop offers a unique quirk other meat shops don't. Judy proudly displays the freshest hunts on the west coast, not only in the forms of mounts on the walls but as game she hunts herself. Her special hunts include big game like elk, deer, wild pig, turkey, and even black bears if you're feeling a more adventitious palette.

She also offers small game like pheasants, quail, waterfowl like ducks and geese, doves, squirrel and rabbits. If it's legal to hunt, Judy will sell the meat to you and she'll tell you all the best ways to prepare it.

Hailey is the oldest triplet if you wanna get technical. Most of her time is actually spent babysitting her baby sister Heidi, but when school starts and/or one of her sisters watch Heidi, Hailey is right there in the butcher shop working for her mother. Hailey is Judy's mini her. The most responsible and business minded.

Layla is the middle triplet in age and also in personality. She's always towing the line between being more reasonable like Hailey and being the trouble maker like Aubrey. As an occupation, Layla works the counter as well as waitresses at a local malt shop eatery named The Cosmic Spoon. A 50s inspired dinner that specializes in it's homemade breakfast, burgers, and milkshakes.

Lastly we got Aubrey, the youngest triplet. While everyone is close, Aubrey and Layla are the 'troublesome twins' as they often get into mischief together. Aubrey works as a mechanic at a local car shop called Randy's Automotive Repair. She's got the skillset to work on any vehicle or bike no matter the problem.

Too much wolf...not enough (wo)man.

aka, me rambling in a long post about some of my monster lost boys ocs. XD

So I've been thinking...while slowly chipping away at my lost boys fic about Judy and her lycan family. And you know what's fun to think about? Monstrous forms. XD

As lycans, Judy and her daughters actually have 3 forms instead of two. In addition to their human forms and their full wolf forms, I think a 2nd half and half form would work as a cool, if not terrifying and uncanny middle ground. True 'wolfman' thing going. I'm having so much trouble trying to visualize this idea in my own art, so let me just explain it for now. XD

First things first, the reason why I wanted to do this at all is because I wanted to have a real scary monster form because the lost boys is a horror/monster movie after all. XD Another thing was I wanted to have a nice flip side with the vampires. Yeah I know, vampires vs werewolves is a trope as old as dirt but old tropes are popular for a reason! The makeup for the vampires is really cool and unique, so let's start there.

The eyes are so iconic on any character tbf, not just monsters. But for the boys they're crazy. Fiery, intense, and bloodcurdling. XD For the girls I think an icy blue is fitting. But so blue, they're almost white! A chilling, intimating stare, with enlarged irises. So large (as well as the parts around their eyes developing a dark ring around them) in fact that it gives off the illusion that their scleras are black.

Another part are teeth. Sharp teeth are a must, I like the idea of the bottom canine are larger than the top like a sabretooth cat, but both pairs of canines are long! Same with claws and pointed ears.

You can't forget the vampires heavy brow lines that delete their eyebrows. For Judy and kids, it's the complete opposite. You can't have a wolf hybrid without hair. XD

But my favorite part of this idea is to have all the girls develop a slight cone shape muzzle! And it's all flesh! Imagine a elongated nose and mouth part on a person. XD I actually really like how they did it teen wolf.

Between Max and his 4 rowdy "Sons", Judy and her 4 daughters- then Will with his one son he had with Max- that's a total of 9 kids- 9...

All ranging in ages to some degree, but i imagine somehow te worst are the boys, the girls are..harmless- but Will and Max's legetament bio son Ricky give them the biggest hedge becuse he's around 12/13 and a sweetheart but tends to get hurt a lot or left out of stuff.

(He's befriended the frogs and they haven't caught onto the fact his dad's are gay le alone vampires and thinks Max is a single dad with a weird European friend- Ricky nags them about the comics shop and how they need better variety and decore)

Anyways- NOT ABODNOED...JUST ON A SHELFT RELAXING WAITING TO BE PICKED UP AGAIN!!

Oh the boys are absolutely worst. XD

Judy's daughters are about as normal as a family of lycans can be. Just kinda going about their lives with a strong family moral code, full time jobs, friends, and hobbies. My way around from adding to the already massive disappearances the vampires cause is that while they do have a taste for human flesh and indulge in it once in a while, they do not need it to survive and therefore eat other large quantities of meat instead. While Layla can be a bit of a jokester and Aubrey like roughing people up, they're good kids. Max's vampire boys are nothing if not bad influences. And before Judy takes a motherly role, they're recklessness actively puts her girls in danger, and she is NOT okay with that!

As for the relationship between Max and the girls, it's fun! Even before Max and Judy start dating, I'm thinking of writing the girls as very friendly and pals with Max and they're go to person to late night entertainment. Max of course, has a strong fondness for the girls. I like to imagine (while Max is not abusive to the boys) he has grown a bit negligent with the boys as they prefer their personal space while he is reveling the attention from the girls. I think he likes being a girl dad. XD

Not to throw cliche tropes on too much, but I think the boys would also be huge mama's boys. Max may be the cool dad that lets them do pretty much whatever they want, but his distance and lack of interaction with the boys is a determent. The boys need fulfillment, and while Judy is more uniform, less freedom means they spend more time getting familiar moments and I think that's nice.

I don't normally post picrews of my characters, I'd rather draw them, but this picrew is just so gorgeous, and I wanted to share!

So I got a character concept here. While my lost boys story with Judy and her daughters are gonna focus on familiar love I just can't stop thinking of Layla being a lesbian, and this is who she crushes on!

The cute girl who works at the town candy shop! 🥰

Her name is Alisha Barbero. And I really only have the look of her now, but one thing for certain is that she's not human. 😉 I was thinking about mermaids that shape shift on land.
