June 16th: Pride Art Challenge

FINALLY! IM ON THE DAY I NEED TO BE ON WITH THIS CHALLENGE! Anyways, enough talk- ONTO THE GAY!!!

In my last post, I mentioned a character from my Valen Oc lore line named Junico.

This is his husband, Ceasar.

Since he is in the "council" that runs their nation, he had an extra set of arms attached to his back, specifically his shoulder back bones (idk what they're called). It's a kind of symbol of status thing. It wasn't painful going in, as he was knocked unconscious for most of it.

BUT OH BOY WOULD IT HURT LIKE HELL IF YOU RIPPED THEM OFF-

You see, I made his race a rather advanced but somewhat lacking in the pain understanding department, even though they are very emotional creatures. (With mood swings out the wazoo and to Timbuktu)

So, in his line of work, if he were to ever commit something like:

Treason

a coup

general attempt to establish a dictatorship

break his vow he made to his work

or a federal crime (like...idk, send some people to kidnap a foreign princess for a heat of the moment thing so she could be sold to a drug cartel so they could use her blood in drug manufacturing due to its effects to various people)

yeah, they'd rip them off and purge him of his title and declare him as a criminal. He'd still be able to have a job and stuff, but not hold office.

But yeah!

🧸 A headcanon about their childhood

Not sure if this is enough but I like to think he had somewhat of a rough childhood, maybe being part of a mercenary group since he was born (something to do with his family probably). He didn't feel right or even safe being there so he escaped one day as a preteen and that's how he met Vector, maybe trying to do something dangerous in his presence and the crocodile felt like he had to help this kid. I like to think that's why he was described as more aggressive and impulsive in the Chaotix game, he just had a bunch of negative feelings and experiences in himself and was just starting to get the help and friendship he needed.

👽 A headcanon about a weird quirk of them

Huh, not sure what would be considered a weird quirk, something that's unique to him or just something weird in general? Hm, I don't know if it's weird but I like to think he randomly speaks in japanese sometimes when he's lost in thought or is starting to show a strong emotion.

💝 A headcanon about their love language

He's not a very touchy person and stuff, so just being there comfortable around others and even trying stuff with them would be his way of showing care and appreciation. If it's his significant other though, he'd let them show physical affection to him as long as it's not too much or around people he's not close to. As an extra, and something I show in drawings, he'd wrap his tail around his partner, without noticing or on purpose.

💔 An angsty headcanon

He has very low self esteem despite seeming proud of his abilities, constantly trying to be better and do everything perfectly, flawlessly. This is even worse when it comes to himself, having dysphoria and not liking most of his features. I have the idea of most reptiles and insects not being considered as attractive as the rest of mobian creatures too. So he just feels like he's not what society considers good or proper, which makes him feel insecure. And because of his own pride and stubbornness, he'd just hide all those thoughts from everyone.

I have a small story idea related to this I'm trying to work on, something I've been thinking for a while, so I find it a very funny to be able to talk about this headcanon a bit now lol

🪢 A headcanon about their family

He doesn't like talking about his blood related family, negative experiences for sure, so anytime someone asks him about his family he just talks about the Chaotix. There is someone he doesn't see in a bad light, one of his parents, but... That's still surrounded by bad memories and a very tragic event that made him escape from his birthplace.

💄 An appearance headcanon

His top scars, and him liking goth fashion I guess. I also like to give him a lot of scars in his hands and wrists because, well, no way someone who uses a bunch of blades doesn't have scars.

😶 A random headcanon

A random one, hm. He doesn't like to be in photos, usually making himself invisible or hiding behind other people or stuff around him. He only let's people take pictures of him during special and significant occasions. When it comes to Silver though, he'd try his best to let him take pictures with him or of him as much as he wants, trying his best to not involuntarily camouflage, because he knows how important pictures are to the hedgehog.

B is the one who appeared in his life like a star or a ray of dawn in his darkest hour, when he was in great pain, confusion, and on the verge of giving up. B is the one who pulled him out of his dark state, an angelic presence. B, to A, is a being filled with love, warmth, and hope.

🦾From B's perspective:

B is a person of great love. He has likely received much help in the past and has experienced pure love and warmth. Therefore, when he sees A, a child who is in pain, lost, and confused, he is willing to reach out to him and offer him advice, guidance, and even companionship.

B has a "savior complex." He realizes that A is at a low point in his life, has just suffered an emotional setback, and may have some psychological trauma, such as from his family of origin or past experiences, as well as an avoidant personality formed in close relationships. These factors have led A to be very negative and pessimistic about love, and this swamp-like state has drawn B in. B longs to share his own emotions and knowledge with A and help him out of his predicament.

B believes that A is a very intelligent child. He feels a sense of compassion for A (and this compassion is not derogatory). He sees that A has his own beliefs or dreams that he has been pursuing, but he is lost in this maze. The things that A once took pride in have crumbled in an instant, giving him a series of blows, causing him to have cognitive dissonance and lose any place to rely on.

AKUDAMA -- QUЭЭЯ ⛓ K1ИK 🦾 C¥BЗЯ 🔊 TЭСHИØ #60 -- PRIDE Last Saturday I had the pleasure of experiencing the Pride in Roma 🇮🇹 seeing the trucks, people and supporters passing the Colosseum was such a beautiful image 🌈 every time when joining a pride parade, I can see so much love and can’t help but imagine a world where love abounds in every corner and every moment 🫶 a world we aspire to create and a world we should never stop fighting for 🖤 ⁠ ⁠ QueeResistenza was / is this year’s slogan of pride in Rome / Italy - a word that means queer resistance and existence. A march for the rights of queer people and recognition against a government that wants to erase them. The pride showed beautiful diversity with 34 amazing floats, music and speeches - and a million people strong, according to the organizers. Also, the mayor of Rome joined and supported the families of same-sex couples. It was a beautiful day of love and solidarity and I’m even more excited to join this weekend’s pride parade in my current home base Torino 🏳️‍🌈⁠

In my previous post you saw the start of the pride parade at Piazza della Repubblica and this video is the last hour before the end of the parade at the Colosseum - hopefully the videos get at least a small percentage of the actual feelings across at this great festival ✨ The artwork on the images is my idea of a futuristic Techno afterparty after the Roman Pride, I hope you like it 💋

We are Glitch

I'm 32 years old, I have a master's degree in psychology and I'm on disability pension. I'm diagnosed with schizophrenia and adhd, and I'm passionate about community support and disability rights. I'm a greyaroace bisexual, genderfluid femme-transmasc-agender-leaning gay hegirl whatever queer.

I'm openly polyamorous and I have several partners, a couple of whom I live with in a house with our tiny dog and our two cats.

Beyond genderfluidity, my self-experience itself is fluid and plural in nature.

Quinn (he/they) (who is writing this) is the "default", and most directly aligned with our actual body/history/age etc. Aside from Quinn, there is also Elias (25, he/him), Cadia (10-20, she/her), Mahni (??, they/it), Jamie (adult, he/him) and Findus (5-ish and 12-ish, they/he).

Of course they all help me cope and heal in different ways, but I don't like to reduce anyone to mere "tools", and we all certainly have our own stuff going on.

This blog has been run under the names Kit, Cat and Quinn in the past, but going forward I'll use Glitch to refer to "the person+ behind this blog", I'll specify who is talking if ever relevant, but you can think of Glitch as our collective persona.

What is my philosophy/philosophy of the blog?

I believe people are the experts on their own lived experience, and I am not a fan of dictating anything for anyone.

I'm inclusive of weird and unexpected mental phenomena, and I don't think that experiences that don't align with consensus reality are inherently bad, as long as they are not causing harm to anyone (including yourself).

I think the diagnostic manuals are guidelines for a very simplified taxonomy of what we call neurodivergency, and for the most part, I think that getting lost in the finer details of diagnostics does more harm than good. I try to have a "symptom first" approach to mental diversity and suffering, though I don't deny that diagnoses can provide beneficial validation, treatment and accomodations.

I think the goal for any person should always be to live their own best life, and I don't think anyone gets to decide what that looks like for anyone else.

I want society at large to recognize that being crazy and weird may be out of the norm, but that doesn't make it morally bad or dangerous. I want all of us crazy kids to be able to take pride in being abnormal - even when it fucking sucks.

omg hi!!! thank you for sending this anon i'm extremely excited because during last month (disability pride month) i came up with disability headcanons for all the characters so i have an immediate answer to this one! i'm just gonna copy what i wrote for terry jr and post them here 🥰🥰

Terry Jr has scoliosis. Had to wear a brace for most of his childhood to correct it. He’s also lactose intolerant. He also developed intermittent tremors after getting back from the Forgotten Realms, in one of his hands and in his larynx (voice box). He’s mostly able to control them through breathing exercises Samantha taught him. Also, not necessarily disability related, but he’s terrified of developing a heart issue like his dad, almost paranoid, so he is extremely anal about getting heart tests.
