I cannot explain why this takes courage to post, but it does.

There is a poem towards the end of The Sandman comics that haunted me from the very first reading. I was absolutely certain there were more stanzas. I hunted for them, and found nothing. I've remained entirely sure in my heart that there must be more, but if there are, I know not where they came from.

Unless I write them myself.

For years, I felt them in the back of my head, refusing to speak, waiting. Sometime after the show came out, they finally started dropping in words.

The first two stanzas are the canon poem from The Kindly Ones. The rest are my own. There may yet be more waiting to fall, I don't know.

All around me darkness gathers Fading is the sun that shone We must speak of other matters You can be me when I'm gone

1) The two "pacifists" are actually mean girls who rate everyone in their free time

2) Rin actually listening in the whole time

3) Yukki looking a bit anxious because he can sense the dark vibes from behind them

3) And then there is Nagi. SMILING WITH INTENTION FOR THE FIRST TIME. Compared to other moments which are like "maybe he smiled? Was that a smile? Probably could be seen as a smile...", this is gold because it is so obvious that he smirks because he knows that Rin can hear him 😂 and also breaking the fourth wall smugly looking at the audience because he knows we're in on the joke.
