I've recently seen an interview where Ewan talks about Aemond putting duty above love and how he doesn't consider other's opinions too much, but then I've also seen him talking about how much Aemond wants to be loved and how love is the only thing that could beat him, what do you think is the reasoning here? Like, does Aemond love other people or does he just care about duty/himself?

Aemond cares about others!!! If he didn’t he would have left his family when he had the chance.

What I think Ewan means is that Aemond fills that void with duty. There’s a gaping whole inside him that needed to be filled with unconditional love, but without love, he is left with a hole in his self confidence. How can he remedy that? With drowning himself in duty! Because the more he does for the realm the more he gains respect! The more people will listen to him! Just as if someone loved him so unconditionally, they’d have done so many things for him! But now the love is gone and he is left with only trying to do his duty.

Hiding doesn't really work when the vampire can tell where you are at all times :p it just seems like a game

It becomes a different matter entirely if you somehow make it out of the manor, just because you could get hurt more easily! That'll actually get you in trouble with him
