I'm not quite proud of me, nor satisfied. In moments I am. But mostly I've been working hard on making my days a little more stable, a little more bearable. Even if that means disappointing me and others again and again. There's no point in daydreaming of how functional I could be if only I was. I have these means and these wounds. The best I can do is work with them.

✨ term explanations below the cut ✨

I don’t use the term Devotee in my practice because I don’t feel comfortable making life long commitments to Deities or a Religion because… well, I love change. I like to grow and what works for me right now might not suit me in 20 years. I think my Deities deserve true everlasting commitment when someone devotes themselves to Them and my characteristics just don’t allow that from me. Instead I use the terms: “Worship” and “Work with”

To me these terms mean:

Worship: To adore. To appease when others offend them. To respect. To honor with my actions, thoughts, emotions and lifestyle. To give offerings when I am able. To talk to on a regular basis. To petition for safety, guidance, compassion, and help. To learn more about them. To compliment them. To enjoy their company and energy. To evoke them often into my space.

Work with: To seek advice. To seek guidance. To enlist their energy in spells and other workings. To admire from a distance.

Worshiping my Gods is like being best friends, while Working with my Gods is like choosing to eat lunch with my favorite Teachers. I respect them and I have conversations with them but I don’t have a deep connection like I do with those I worship.
