I've been meaning to send some praises about your writing but it seems I was unsurprisingly beaten to it! I just wanted to say as a young writer your works been so inspirational. As the other anon said, your inner world is so rich and vast. Your writing is so scholarly. (Have mercy on my personal writing skills I'm only a uni student typing this half asleep lol). Honestly I find myself having to search quite a few words up while reading, but it's brilliant! I love expanding my vocabulary and general knowledge. I find your references and similes to be so intriguing. I was just wondering if you have any poetry or book recommendations?

Awww that's so kind! I went to uni for English and Creative writing (though I was a dropout in my second year lmao) and did a lot of my published stuff while I was there, so keep pushing yourself ❤️

I personally love H.D. (Hilda Doolittle), Seamus Heaney, Dylan Thomas, Richard Silken, and Mary Oliver poetry-wise!

I can't do one of these without mentioning Angela Carter or Tanith Lee, both of which inspired the descriptions in my work. Shoutout to Cormac McCarthy recently too!

What might seem an obvious trick that I recommend is looking up synonyms for many different words and using the unusual ones. One thing I'd say is be careful it makes sense in context, but sometimes I just think more about the visual and rhythmic elements of a description more than anything else as I'm most interested in aesthetics haha
