Lucci will never admit to it but it broke his heart to leave Water 7, as it was the first place where he truly felt like people wanted him around.

after one last kiss to the top of the dog's head, hale leans back to put some distance between them. if left to his own devices he could stay and pet a dog for hours on end. was it a wolf thing? was it a him thing? since he had never been any other way there was no way to know. he'd like to think it was his charming personality that the dogs picked up on and not because he smelled dog adjacent.

this little dog would be the death of, making her trek through the still muddy park in the middle of the morning and she didn't even know why she was doing it when it wasn't her dog. maybe it was a slayer thing? destined to protect every innocent creature. she'd be rescuing fucking baby squirrels next.
