ok so i realized I did read 2 of these main plots actually, Final Night and War of the Gods.

Anyway. where I encountered them in my reading:

Legends: Superman comics, mostly. That's why my main recollection of the plot line is superman getting brainwashed. WW was an ongoing I was reading at the time, but they didn't get involved in it. Infinity Inc made references to it, but did not do anything w/ it.

Millennium: this one felt like it was everywhere. the manhunter stuff. it happened in superman where lana was actually brainwashed by the manhunters due to the evil manhutner doctor, as well as much of smallville. the plotline showed up in wonder woman with manhunters killing and replacing pan. showed up with infinity inc with todd's comp het gf trying to recruit him from the manhunters. i even read the secret origins tie in to try to find out what was up with them. oh also it showed up in batman and jason made a reference to watching alien. and suicide squad and karen died. anyway. i'm sure it showed up in many more places, but that's what i've read.

invasion!: This showed up in superman, right before his exile in space era, in Wonder Woman, flash, and according to wikipedia suicide squad but i literally can't remember anything about that issue.

Armageddon 2001: showed up in some superman comics, or at least the aftermath did. there was a hawk and dove alternate future i read and a hawkworld alternate future.

War of the Gods: I actually read the miniseries for this, as well as the Wonder Woman, Hawkworld, and Hawk and Dove tie ins. according to wikipedia it had a superman: man of the steel crossover, but i can't remember a single thing about that comic issue despite having read it; i didn't connect it to war of the gods at all.

Eclipso: the Darkness within: I have only read the WW issue tie in... but Yolanda and Beth died so 🔪🔪

Bloodlines: seems like this one shows up everywhere. It showed up quite a bit in superman comics I was reading. aftermath showed up in later 90s comics where ballistic and joe public, 2 guys created by bloodlines, showed up in knightfall adjacent comics.

Underworld Unleashed: crossed over minorly with azrael in neron saving some loser jean paul was fighting earlier, impulse with blockbuster showing up, according to wikipedia starman having phosphorus back was a tie in b/c he was supposed to be dead...

Final Night: the other one I read the miniseries for. I also saw the Supergirl tie in, robin tie in, azrael tie in

Genesis: I first saw this thru impulse, where the history teacher got super depressed about history (or was it math i can't remember) and i had no clue what was going on. but evidently it was the godwave. anyway i also saw it in wonder woman when reading that later. I assume this has effects later on, because in a future wonder woman comic wonder woman can use the power of the god wave for something, though at risk to those around her because of how powered up she is.

DC One Million: God every time i see this one it's so boring. it's the 1 I actively skipped crossovers for. I tried to read the Young Justice 1 million comic when it popped up in my TPB and then was like U know what never mind.

Our Worlds at War: I read the Batman, Nightwing, JSA, and Young Justice tie ins. and impulse and superboy as they were related to the YJ plotline IIRC and I got interested in that. I enjoyed the Nightwing tie in (oracle content) and YJ plotline. jsa was meh.

For those who read lots of late 80s/ early 2ks comics...

Descriptions of plotlines by me, someone who has encountered all of these plotlines in the wild while reading 90s comics but not read any except final night fully:

Legends: the one where Godfrey was slandering the Justice League and Superman got sent to Apokalips, brainwashed to be Darkseid's minion, and then forgot about it.

Millennium: The one with all the manhunter conspiracies that I think was about the Guardians having sex?

Invasion!: The one about the alien invasions. Okay one of the ones about alien invasions. There was an alien alliance, they had a gene bomb that made meta humans.

Armageddon 2001: the one where Waverider pops up in everyone's solo title to view their futures and find out who monarch is. Monarch is the evil ruler of his future who killed all the superheroes.

War of the Gods: the one where Circe was gathering a bunch of artifacts and there was some characters associated with mythology showing up. and punching each other.

Eclipso: the Darkness Within: The one where Eclipso possesses people and Beth Chapel and Yolanda Montez die because nothing is more dangerous than being a C lister in a crossover plotline.

Bloodlines: the one where weird shape shifting vampire aliens drink humans ... spinal fluid? which kills many people but gives some people powers and creates some 90s heroes no one remembers anymore.

Underworld Unleashed: the one where Neron gives a bunch of supervillains powers for shits and giggles. Black Manta is actually-factually manta-ified and Blockbuster is turned into a future impulse and then nightwing villain.

Final Night: the one where the sun goes out due to sun-eaters. Hal Jordan restarts the sun by flying into it.

Genesis: the one where a "godwave" is bouncing around, having created gods on its first pass and creating metahumans or demigods on its second pass and altering with some people's powers and making some people feel depressed

DC One Million: The one where we saw some hypothetical future of what the universe would look like in the one millionth publication of DC, in the year 8000 something. I honestly can't remember what the plot was for this.

Our Worlds At War: Imperiex, some powerful space guy, is a threat to the earth. lex is president during this era and probably yapped at the heroes u are reading about.

☆ Okay so remember that scene where Loomis is questioning the neighbors and the wife was all- *gasp* "Norman took a wife!??!" ... That you, baby. 🥺 (Just with the right pronouns if you aren't a wife, ofc!) ☆ Being Norman's partner for the long haul will mean two things. You would definitely be married in some proper fashion (half because Norman's always wanted the formality of being husband and [wife/husband/partner], and half because everyone wouldn't stop pressing him to do it), and similar to Bubba you're automatically in the motel business from the moment you solidified your place in his life. Sure, you could take a job elsewhere, but everything is so far from where you've found home... ☆ Oh. And sometimes, you have to help with the "housekeeping". You may have made peace with Mother, but the rest of the world walks the line. You both have done things within the walls of the motel that make you shudder to yourselves, but one thing Norman can take comfort in is when it happens, someone's always there to hold his hand through it, at least. ☆ Lots of listening to soft music on the vacant nights, slow dancing with each other in the back room like you exist only for the moment. Here's some tooth-rotting motown to go with that thought... ☆ Even as you two get older, you'd be that couple that never stops puppy-eyeing each other, even as age starts to show on the both of you. You will still walk into the lobby like you don't know where the hell you were, and Norman will break a soft smile and a friendly "How are you this evening?" The only thing different from that first time is that he now knows your name. And he knows how soft you like your pillows, what you take with your coffee, and of course... your favorite bird.

Siggy and Hendrik betrayed me

See, I thought these two (German Eurosport commentators) were my bros, because I remember their amazing freak-outs over Rika in 2018 and their commentary about Wakaba’s low score in the Olympic SP was amazing.

But then I did this thing where because I didn’t want continue watching the Women’s shitshow I went back to watch only Yuzu’s performances AKA the only good part of these Olys that I’ve seen so far, and listened to them (and other commentators) freak out about the 4A.

And then I got curious to see if they’d said anything about the judging, so I skipped through their further commentary for the Men’s FS a bit and... I don’t get it. One the one hand they made a few valid points (like that the base value of a 4A should be way higher than it is), and there were some scoring decisions they critizied, but as soon as we reached the top 3, it was like the critical parts of their brains had been turned off.

And now I wonder if I’m the one with “tomatoes on my eyes” because I just honestly don’t understand what anyone sees in Nathan’s skating. After NC’s skate, they said this:

Hendrik: “It’s incredible how it’s possible to jump that many quads and still have a memorable program, a program that has more to offer than just jumps.”

Siggy: “Can you.. can you... I don’t know, can you say it? This is, at this point in time, really the greatest figure skater of all time, right?.”

Hendrik: “Yes, yes. Without a doubt. Without a doubt, he dethrones Hanyu there.”

Siggy: “Yes!”

Hendrik: “Not just here in this competition, but in general, because... it’s incredible that something like this is possible.”

And I’m here like... what?? I literally went back and actually watched Nathan’s performance (I hadn’t bothered until then) because I wanted to see what was possibly so amazing there. I thought ‘okay, maybe I’m being biased and missed something because I didn’t even watch it’, but then I watched it and... WHAT??? How.... how are they head over heels for this?? “Memorable program”? Bitch, where? It was literally just a bunch of crossovers with jumps and one bit of weird dance choreo?? That’s it? And that’s what you’re calling someone the GOAT over?? For a bunch of crossovers? Heck, *I* can do crossovers! Like, what?? What am I not seeing? What else is there in this program besides jumps (which aren’t even as good as Yuzu’s)? How does someone honeslty watch this and then pretend it’s some masterpiece?

And the weird thing is - Siggy and Hendrik were partially critical of the scoring until that point, but only in select places. For instance, they complained about Jason’s PCS supposedly being too high because, in their words: “Six points above Hanyu - above Hanyu!! - that’s a joke.” And I do partially agree with that - not in the sense that I think Jason doesn’t deserve very high PCS, but in the sense that Yuzu being six whole points behind that isn’t right.

But then, when freaking Nathan got an even higher PCS than Jason.. crickets, not one critical word from Siggy and Hendrik. And come on, really? You complain about Jason’s PCS being too high in comparison to Yuzu (fair), but then you don’t say a word when Nathan, who should be way behind both of them there, gets the highest PCS of the day?

And another thing is that they literally pointed out Shoma’s underrotations and even said that Yuzu should get bronze if those get deducted properly... but when Shoma’s score came up they just went “Huh, guess they didn’t deduct anything” without pointing out that that’s... you know, unfair??

And what really gets me is that it’s not just Siggy and Hendrik. I switched around between languages on Eurosport player a bit and there was not a single commentator who wasn’t singing Nathan’s praises. NOT A SINGLE ONE. (Granted, I don’t speak all of those languages, but you can generally tell by tone and so on if someone’s excited or not.)

The way they were raving about him and calling him the GOAT (🔪🔪🔪) over a skate that was just mediocre AF... it makes me feel like all these commentators watched a different performance, like they think this sport is something else than what I think it is or like they’re all trying to gaslight us. For Jason sex is purely for his pleasure and to see the reactions he can pull out of you. He’s never cared much for how others feel. He only does things for himself.

Likes to leave marks. Whether it’s bite marks, hickeys, bruises or even small cuts if he’s feeling rougher.

Doesn’t want to be touched. The scars that litter his body are a very sensitive topic to Jason. Most of the time he’ll have your hands tied with whatever is near.

He’s into degrading. Will call you a dirty little slut. His insults know no bounds. He just wants to see how far he can take it just to see you cry.

Jason is not into having people watch. Seeing you like this is for his eyes only. However, he’s not above doing it in public places. He’ll tease you by saying someone could walk by at any time.

Aftercare isn’t something that he’s used to. Jason had his far share of one night stands. So there was no need to stick around after. But with you he’ll clean up any wounds he’s caused and hand you a towel to handle the rest.

If the injuries were from some else, things could get very unfortunate for that person. Jason is the only person who can leave marks on you. So once his eyes land on the bruises/scrapes that litter your arms and legs. He’s seeing red.

He’ll come over to you like a cat stalking its prey and interrogate you. He wants every piece of information you can recall about where you were and who this person was.

Later that night Jason will stalk the streets to find this person. He’ll be relentless in his search until that person is in a pile of blood on the concrete. Jason will take a souvenir from the persons body. It’s usually jewelry. He thinks giving it you will make you feel better…

If the injuries were your own doing. Jason is perceptive enough to know that your clumsiness can get the best of you. But don’t expect much sympathy from him.

He’ll tease you about your lack of self preservation and might even trip you on purpose in the future. Even though Jason can be a bit of a devil, he’ll toss a first aid kit at you with a smirk.

✲ Position: The Muscle. Jason might not be the tallest or the strongest but he is willing to do things the others aren’t . He’s unpredictable and ruthless that’s why Rory sends him to do the more difficult jobs.

General- Jason was a bastard son and his mother hated him for it. She was tired of trying to have children and the one she got wasn’t even hers. Every time she looked at Jason’s face she was reminded of her husband’s infidelity. She wanted to get rid of him so this lead to countless murder attempts. Jason reached his limit and decide to give her a taste of her own medicine. When his father found out he was livid but helped Jason cover it up. Ever since then his dad was constantly drinking and lashing out on him. He came at Jason with a knife and Jason attacked. After that he would roam the streets reeking havoc. Rory caught on to the rumors and decided to deal with Jason himself. There he realized Jason just needed somewhere he was wanted and made him a member.

Personality- He is a wild card and he always has ulterior motives. He finds amusement in making people squirm. Jason is an observer and a puppeteer. He likes to gather information on what makes people tick and then play with them. Whether that be emotionally or through physical torture.

Appearance- Jason has ivory skin, dark blue mullet, and sharp brown eyes. He has many tattoos littering his hands, arms, back, legs and torso. He is average height with a lean body.
