May also enjoy sexy costumes (nurses, French maids, etc), but I don’t see them as being much into roleplay, so those are probably more for fun

He probably has the most ‘traditional’ lingerie tastes of everyone

Nothing too fancy, just a silk chemise or a pair of lacy black panties will do just fine

He definitely loves being surprised with it now and then. Undressing you to find that you’re wearing something special is always a turn on

Sometimes he’ll even save up to buy you a pair for special occasions like anniversaries.

He always gets super flustered when giving it to you, though. It’s really freaking cute

That said, if you really want to get him going, wear a pair of his boxers

He does have some more vanilla tastes as well though. For example I think he loves the simplicity of a camisole or nightgown

🏥 Medic 🏥

I will PERISH on this hill- Medic is a thigh man.

He LOVES the way stockings hug your legs. (In fact I’ve written a fic about this exact scenario)

He would also go feral over a sexy nurse outfit. Is it stereotypical? Yes. But it is also very hot. (I have also written a fic about this)

He’s definitely bold enough to just outright ask you to wear something for him, perhaps a blood red bustier and some matching garters (to play into that thigh kink I mentioned)

However he leaves it up to you when you will be wearing said thing, maintaining some element of surprise.

Once he actually sees you in it, perhaps waiting for him in his private quarters after a long day of work, he will take his time to admire you, making you do a little spin for him

He’ll definitely tease you and refuse to undress you until you're begging for his touch on your bare skin.

🦘 Sniper 🦘

Sniper is not a picky man when it comes to sex

That said, lingerie is always a welcome surprise

His only preference comes down to the style of the lingerie- he prefers crotchless designs.

He doesn’t see the point of wearing something sexy if he has to take it off to fuck you

Styles where the bottom of the panties can be easily pulled to the side also work for this

I think he also enjoys silkier textures.

Spy likes to take his time, especially when you’re wearing something nice for him. After all, what’s the point if he just strips it off of you immediately? (plus this stuff is expensive so he’s gotta get his money’s worth out of this.)

If you've been feeling burnt out or are just overall not enjoying the look and feel of your game, this guide is meant for you! Coming from someone who started out with The Sims 3, I've had to do a lot of adjusting to find what I like to do in The Sims 4 and I think I've finally figured it out. In this guide, I'll go over Graphics, Essential Mods, and Gameplay Ideas to help you make your experience more enjoyable!

Graphics✨

The Sims 4's biggest asset over previous iterations is its graphics/aesthetic and more importantly, its versatility in this regard. You can make this game look more realistic or more cartoony depending on what you prefer thanks to ReShade and GShade. While there is controversy with the latter, I think having these kinds of tools added to your game will really help with making the game better to look at. I personally recommend these presets:

@bojanastarcevic's Boho (left) and Light (right) presets

@neecxle's Boho Dreams

@pixelglam's Pearl

As you can see, using these enhancements can add a lot of great atmosphere to your game but knowing how to tweak these to your liking will make all the difference. When installing and using presets, ensure that 1) you have edge smoothing in game turned off 2) you have SMAA or FXAA turned on through ReShade or GShade and 3) you've adjusted ADOF [qUINT_dof.fx] to suit your gameplay.

These are my settings (apologies if it's hard to see) but what gives my screenshots more of a cinematic quality is having the "bokeh" settings adjusted like so. I also have the ADOF hotkey set to "tab" so that it automatically turns on and adjusts the depth-of-field when I want to take a screenshot.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! While all of these shader presets are extremely important to the look and feel of your game, there's an extra couple of steps you can take.

@plantyl-m's GraphicsRules.sgr makes those in-game shadows nice and crisp! It's a relatively small tweak, but I feel like it makes such a huge difference to the quality.

@softerhaze's Sunblind Lighting Overhaul. The pictures speak for themselves!

@northernsiberiawinds's Better In-Game Lighting is another great option for lighting tweaks (there's also lighting adjustments for CAS that I love to use)

And that pretty much wraps up my segment on graphics! Now, don't feel compelled to use all of these if your computer can't handle it. While these tweaks are nice, they don't make or break the game. Use what works and don't mind what doesn't!

Essential Mods🔧

I'll be the first to admit that without mods this game can be a bit- or a lot- dry. Depending on what kind of gameplay style you prefer, you may not need or want certain mods but I think there are some core mods that EVERY simmer can make use of.

@deaderpoolmc's MCCommand Center is a must-have. I personally use it most often to add relationships between sims for storybuilding, changing how long certain actions like doing homework takes, and changing my Game Time Speed to make my days last longer (more on this later)

Weerbesu's UI Cheats for quick adjustments to household funds, motives, and more.

@twistedmexi's EVERYTHING, but if I had to narrow it down T.O.O.L Mod, Better Build Buy, and All Cheats are the ones I get the most mileage out of.

TurboDriver's Wonderful Whims. In addition to all the features you might be familiar with, you can also use it for posing and animations. It has a positioner as well that makes placing sims so easy!

@bienchien's Whim Overhaul to make what your sims want to do more sensible based on their personality, aspiration, and environment.

For mods that add more gameplay, try out these: Basemental Drugs to add effects from consuming substances @utopya-cc's Passionate Gifts for more romantic interactions @zerbu's Turbo Careers to make more active careers Lot-51's Collection of Mods for various tweaks and features including functional hotels, internet service, and rentable movies.

There's plenty more mods, too many to list in this post but at the end of the day, enjoying your gameplay involves you!

Gameplay Ideas 💭

I love longer gameplay, that was my favorite thing about The Sims 3. But I often felt like managing a longer gameplay in The Sims 4 didn't feel as rewarding. It can be easy to feel like your save has become stagnant, especially if you're only playing with one sim in a household. And I realized why this happens. The Sims 4 has a lot of features, more than I thought, and they're overly available. Right off the bat, I can take my sim anywhere, to any world and do almost anything. And somehow, that makes it feel less impactful. I don't like following structured challenges or scenarios, so this is what I do to make get myself more invested in my sims and their lives.

Create Your Sims Intentionally What does this mean? Create your sims with room to grow the longer you play! Maybe you want a sim to become a famous actor, but they're socially awkward. Now not only do they need to gain fame, but now they're also working to overcome their awkwardness and develop more charisma. Give your sims room to grow, to adjust. Let them have negative traits or dislike things that they might be naturally better at so they have to work harder at what they do like. Another tip: when making your sim in CAS, choose their aspiration based on what bonus trait you'd like them to have then change their aspiration in game. This way, you get an extra trait that may add more to your sim's character.

Give Your Sims a Context to Exist In Because they didn't just fall out of a coconut tree, give your sims other sims to bounce off of. Maybe they have a strained relationship with their parents so they avoid them all the time. Or they had a falling out with an old friend so when they run into each other, it gets super awkward and makes them tense or uncomfortable. Using MCCC or other cheats to give your sims a little more of a backstory when you start playing makes them feel more real as you go forward.

Lengthen Your Game Time Speed When I realized I could do this, it changed everything! Sims take a long time to do pretty much everything. So days and days pass and it feels like you aren't really getting much done. Using MCCC, I changed my Game Time Speed to "30" and that lets me actually stop and think about what I want to get done throughout the day instead of solely focusing on filling their needs. For example, my sims can actually have a full morning routine like going for a walk, making breakfast, and showering before going to work. Having more time in the day lets you focus on all the smaller details and lets you notice that there's actually a lot you can do.

Make or Place Multi-Use Lots and Use T.O.O.L. Mod If you own a decent amount of packs, having multi-use lots is a must to get a lot of bang for your buck. For example, country clubs, movie theaters, restaurants, etc. are going to add to what your sim is able to do. Look at CC made by Cepzid for more functional objects to add variety to what you can do. Also, if you use T.O.O.L. you can place any object in the world to add more activities and make your surroundings feel less like set dressing.

Limit the Worlds You Play In If your sim can go anywhere, at any time, then what is the point of going anywhere at all? I like to limit the worlds that I can visit by using "travel" to around 3 or 4 depending on region. That way, when my sims go to worlds outside of the region, it's more exciting because I'm not constantly seeing it. For example, my current family The Fords live in Brindleton Bay. I'm American so I think of Brindleton Bay as being The Hamptons, which is North East Coast. So I think, what other worlds would be reasonably close and easy to visit? I assign regions like this: - North East: Brindleton Bay, San Myshuno, Newcrest, Britechester - The South: Willow Creek, Magnolia Promenade, Forgotten Hollow - Northwest: Evergreen Harbor, Copperdale, San Sequoia - Southwest: Del Sol Valley, Oasis Springs, Strangerville -Europe: Tartosa, Windenburg, Henford-on-Bagley - Central America: Selvadorada, Ciudad Enamorada - Pacific Islands & Asia: Sulani, Mount Komorebi, Tomarang Playing with these regions in mind, it adds a challenge to my gameplay. If there's a world I want to visit, I need to set aside time in my sims schedule to actually visit it (such as requesting vacation time). Also this allows me to have long-distance relationships which can add to slow burn dynamics! Case in point, Darcy and Lopez or Caleb and Natty.

6. Let Your Sims Have Their Autonomy Back Okay, I'm guilty of micromanaging. But sometimes, it's okay to sit back and let your sims try different things. Obviously, the autonomy isn't always super logical so definitely nudge your sims in the right direction but a lot of the enjoyment of the game for me, especially when playing with families, is to leave them to their own devices. With The Fords, I primarily focus on Natty which leads to a lot of hilarious moments that wouldn't have happened if I was stressing over everyone acting perfect. For example, when Caleb came to the Ford house I had Natty make them iced tea to drink on the porch and while she was inside, Alan (her dad) came out on his own and started talking to Caleb which didn't go that well. Let your sims do what they want sometimes!

7. Most importantly, find what YOU like to do! Comparison is the thief of joy, that's totally true. What one simmer likes to do, you might hate. For me, decorating is like pulling teeth. I'll do it every once in a while, but I mostly find builds from other amazing builders. I also don't really care much for challenges and like to create stories with my sims. The point is, we all have our thing. But it's important to experiment and find what your thing is. I happen to really like the actor career, which a lot of people don't find enjoyable. So don't let others opinions impact what you have fun with. Of course, if my advice works for you then I'm happy but if not, there's no love lost. Do what makes you happy!

Well, that's all I've got. I can definitely make some follow-up posts if my tips change or I discover something new. But for now, I hope this post helps or gives you some ideas!

Ohohohoh! Okay, you got it >:) Keiger is actually not a well fleshed out character, so this might be good for me haha!

11) What was your inspiration for your OC?

At the time I just needed a Rito character that could carry Les to safety in the Distress Call side comic-- I needed a huge bird, and thought a condor could be cool. I really love using and showcasing other people's OCs, but I could not find a condor Rito! A couple folks had vultures, and everyone and their grandmother has a Lammergeier (understandable, they're bad ass). Now that I think about it, an eagle would have been super cool too... well, guess I'll have to save that idea for later!

Keiger's based on an Andean Condor, which I didn't realize at the time was different from a Californean Condor, so they ended up being a mix of the two.

I also unintentionally gave them traditionally female Rito clothing despite not being set on their gender-- I didn't think they'd be used after the comic so I didn't put much thought or research into their character haha

A couple folks really liked the character though, so they now show up here & there, rather than being forgotten.

🔧Character doing their job or hobby

So I don't think I actually put this in the comic, but I was brainstorming with @capybonara about a name for a Rito emergency rescue service that patrols the coast, mainly looking to help stranded sailors or folks caught out at sea in bad weather. Keiger's part of that crew, but they deal with the cleanup part of failed missions, if you catch my drift.

Goron City isn't as hot as it used to be, but having any heat-protective armor is helpful--especially the closer you get to Death Mountain.

They're a carver. Bone or soapstone as the primary material.

Personality: Aloof, a bit odd, has a hard time remembering to take care of himself because he’s too busy taking care of others, friendly, closed off, secretive, tries not to be too judgmental but sometimes fails, sly, supportive, misses certain social cues unless they’re being presented EXTREMELY obviously, highly intelligent, can always tell when someone is lying but usually won’t call them out, wants to see the best in people, deeply traumatized by a past that he insists he’s moved on from, combats his depression by fixing things because it makes him feel useful.

Powers/Abilities: spellcasting (usually revolving around telekinesis, fire/heat, or curse breaking, but he can cast smaller spells of other natures, as well), mechanics and engineering (mostly revolving around any automotive thing with wheels), getting people to open up, free running/parkour, weightlifting, parenting (even though he has no kids and doesn’t plan on having any)

Backstory: Ollie is a completely different man now than he was growing up. Granted, most people change as they age, but Oleander’s change was radical and rapid. He grew up in Dallas with an intellectual father who worked as a museum curator, teaching him all the while that high intelligence set all Ironwood men above the rest. Ollie took this to heart, excelling in school in all aspects and lording that over his classmates. In short, he became the worst kind of bully: cruel enough to instill fear and cunning enough to get away with it. It didn’t matter. Nothing he did, no award he won, no test he aced was enough to meet his father’s ridiculously high standards. It didn't deter Ollie from trying, but it did create a massive rift between them. His mother was no help, always gallivanting around the globe to find some new rare artifact or manuscript; anywhere but home. The already fragile and crumbling palace they'd shoddily built for themselves came crashing down shortly after Ollie's seventeenth birthday. In a rare heart-to-heart with his father, he discovered that Wayland had developed a rather strange addiction over the past several years: arcana. Magic, in layman's terms.

One artifact that had been in contact with an intersection of leylines for too long had found its way to Wayland's office, and being already somewhat of an occultist, naturally he deigned to study it. Through prolonged exposure, he slowly began to absorb the unstable arcane energy. It wasn't long before he began to feel the side effects of such radiation. He could move things with his mind, summon fire or ice, see things that no mortal man should. The next step was to study these gifts further, learn actual spells and rituals, and absorb enough power to fuel them, but his practice soon became an addiction. Enough was never enough. Wayland refused sleep and most food in favor of wine and ancient tomes, slowly drifting further and further into madness. The night he finally told Oleander was to be his proudest moment, the night that he finally unveiled his newfound greatness for the whole world to see. Instead, in an explosion of arcane chaos, he disappeared from the facility he'd built on the banks of the Trinity River, destroying it in the process and nearly killing his only son.

It was only after his distraught mother moved him out of town that Ollie discovered the lingering aura of magic that had clung to his body, keeping him alive long enough for paramedics to find him before deciding that it liked him enough to stick around. He tried to ignore it. Swore that he would not be seduced by it as his father was. Continued on with the normal-ass life he had decided to live with his normal-ass grandparents in their normal-ass small West Texas town. Buried himself in his normal-ass studies so that he could graduate with the other hundred or so normal-ass seniors at his new normal-ass high school. He even took a few different shop classes, having always been interested in mechanics and automotive engineering but never allowed to explore it; his father had declared such menial labor to be beneath him. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world for him to learn, but that only made Oleander that much more determined to conquer it. It even brought him closer to his grandparents, both of whom were mechanics at the Ironwood Garage. When his mother left again to pursue another grand adventure, he was devastated, but unsurprised. He pushed through, as always. The confident intellectual facade came back, though he resolved to be far more helpful and less of an ass than he had in the past, doing everything he could to atone. Those who struggled in subjects where he excelled were met with kindness instead of insult. Bullies were dealt with in rather creative ways, but still shown compassion and understanding. He soon found via tutoring and later on during an apprenticeship at the garage that he genuinely liked helping others. Solving problems came easily to him.

It was only natural that he would inherit the garage at twenty, when his grandfather died. Ollie dealt with that grief the same way he did with every other loss he'd experienced; he locked it away and threw himself into keeping busy. Helping his grandmother, running the garage, planning the funeral, taking his grandfather's place in the Chamber of Commerce...it was all a big distraction from the growing hole in his heart. In fact, the Chamber of Commerce became his first clue that Morningstar, Texas was not as normal a town as he'd previously believed. The magic that had lain dormant in his system for over three years thrummed just under his skin as soon as he entered City Hall for the his first biweekly meeting. He saw things that he logically knew he shouldn't. Horns and a tail here, a pair of iridescent wings there, shadows slinking in corners, sparks dancing around lights, all of which was gone in the blink of an eye. Things only got weirder from there. Ezra Cagney, the owner and proprietor of the Heavenly Fire Tavern & Grill, was an odd fellow, but by and large the most welcoming; he made sure Oleander was properly introduced to the rest of the Chamber. Everything that came afterward was a chain reaction of weird that no one could possibly have been prepared for.

A tentative acquaintanceship quickly culminated in Ezra pounding frantically on their door in the middle of the night, badly burned and convinced that someone was trying to kill him, which then turned into the bartender unloading every secret he’d been holding in while Grandma Rose patched him. Ezra was ageless, functionally immortal (aside from an adverse reaction to holy water and blessed weapons), and cursed by the devil he’d sweet-talked into giving him magic. And he was asking for help evading his own murder. Begging, practically. Oleander couldn’t tell him no.

They worked together to vanquish the cult of so-called monster hunters, with Ezra helping Ollie to hone and expertly control his arcane talents along the way. It was easier to accept now that he knew he wasn’t alone. Their partnership extended into business, as well, as Ollie agreed to renew the contract his grandfather had signed for co-ownership of the tavern, and it paved the way for brand new adventures along the way. After nearly a decade, they’ve become dear friends and the town’s resident wizards. Some problems need a mechanical solution; others require a more magical touch.
