A is for Alien: An ABC Book – Little Golden Books 👽📖⭐
Pictured here, photos from the review we are relaying is from a not-yet 2 year old who is becoming an early reader with a really good vocabulary. She really liked the “kitty cat” and the “dinosaur doggie” (alien) and was later able to call the Xenomorph “alien” after we read it a few times together. She liked it, 5 stars out 5, and when we did the star count together, she says HA HA HA HA HA like the count from Sesame Street since we have purple Count socks now. We’ll try to do more reviews, this one was really fun.
“In space no one can hear you giggle as you read this Little Golden Book for all ages featuring the characters from the classic movie Alien! Follow Ripley and the rest of the Nostromo crew on a space adventure that introduces the alphabet from A to Z. With fun illustrations, this light-hearted reimagining of the iconic movie Alien will delight fans young and old…”

🧑🚀Favorite Ripley?
🤖Favorite android?
👽Favorite Xenomorph design/evolution?
1. Favorite Ripley? I find this to be an odd question because...I guess you could say with character development her character changed.
I'm just gonna say Aliens but also put her original appearance from the first film. She's great in both films.
2. Andy....
I wanna say David and Walter but fuck it. It's Andy. But man, I still like Walter a lot too. And David for the in-depth character he has.
3. It's Chap good ol boy. Giger's masterpiece. Or what I call him.
I'll always like the Warrior and I think the one in Romulus looks neat too.
And you know what, if Alien had a remake/reboot (Which I never want), the Romulus one is essentially kind of perfect for that. I'm rambling on and I'm just thinking about its origin.

Had to draw a xenomorph to make myself feel better from watching alien 3😭😭 like I'm sorry, everything about it was off and it makes sense that it was rushed too. Unfortunately, no wonder I don't remember it except for the setting.
Like FUCK the runner was an eyesore, but it also had really good moments where it didn't need to be greenscreened. Which was the beginning of the movie mind you, the chases had me in such disbelief that all I could do was laugh. Also the fact it exploded from the immediate temperatures, KILLED ME. It was so goofy😭
It shouldn't be humorous,,, but Ripley falling the way she does in the fire made me cackle. The animation/cgi please I can't breathe
The beginning was solid, and then it just began to feel ooc with Ripley the more it progressed like fuck man👽

My favorite production still from "Alien: Romulus." As a stalwart of Gen X & self proclaimed advocate of the movies from that era allow me to proclaim, "Cailee Spaeny, congratulations on attaining 80's status 'Final Girl'. Proud to see you carry the mantle of Sigourney Weaver (Ripley), Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) & Jamie Lee Curtis (Laurie Stroud). There have been others to be sure, Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott) from Scream, but you fought & defeated one of the five monsters of that era: The Xenomorph (Alien), The Terminator, The Thing, The Predator & of course, Michael Meyers (Freddie & Jason, get honorable mentions). Bravo Zulu young lass. Looking forward to your next accomplishment."😈☠️💀👾👽🤯🥺💫🌍🌎🌏🌄🌅🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌘🌘🛸

Iconic Underwear Scene: Sigourney Weaver's Empowerment in "Alien" 👽🚀
Sigourney Weaver's underwear scene in "Alien" is a pivotal moment in both the film and the history of science fiction cinema. Released in 1979 and directed by Ridley Scott, "Alien" broke new ground in the sci-fi genre with its intense atmosphere, groundbreaking visual effects, and strong, complex female protagonist in the form of Ellen Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver. The scene in question occurs midway through the film when Ripley, the last surviving crew member of the spaceship Nostromo, prepares to confront the deadly extraterrestrial creature that has been terrorizing her and her fellow crewmates. 🌌
At this point in the narrative, Ripley is alone and vulnerable, having narrowly escaped the alien's clutches on several occasions. As she gears up for her final showdown with the creature, she strips down to her underwear, a moment that has been both celebrated and critiqued by audiences and critics alike. On one hand, the scene has been praised for its subversion of traditional gender roles in science fiction, as Ripley takes control of her own narrative and asserts her strength and agency in a genre that often marginalizes or objectifies female characters. By presenting Ripley as a capable, resourceful survivor who is unafraid to confront danger head-on, "Alien" challenges the stereotypical portrayal of women as helpless victims in need of rescue. 💪
However, the scene has also been subject to criticism for its apparent gratuitousness and sexualization of Ripley's character. Some viewers have argued that the decision to have Ripley undress in this moment serves no narrative purpose and exists solely to titillate the audience, reducing her to a sexual object rather than a fully realized character. Additionally, the choice to depict Ripley in her underwear has been seen as a reflection of the male gaze prevalent in Hollywood filmmaking, catering to the presumed desires of the predominantly male audience at the expense of authentic representation of female experiences. 🎬
Despite these criticisms, it is important to consider the context in which "Alien" was made and the broader cultural landscape of the late 1970s. At a time when women's roles in film were often limited to supportive or decorative roles, "Alien" stood out for its portrayal of a strong, independent female protagonist who refuses to be defined by her gender. Sigourney Weaver's performance as Ripley remains iconic to this day, inspiring generations of viewers and filmmakers alike. 🌟
In conclusion, Sigourney Weaver's underwear scene in "Alien" is a complex and controversial moment in cinematic history, reflecting both the progress and limitations of representation in science fiction cinema. While it can be seen as a powerful assertion of female agency and resilience, it also raises important questions about the male gaze and the objectification of women on screen. Ultimately, "Alien" and its portrayal of Ripley continue to provoke discussion and debate, reminding us of the ongoing need for diverse and authentic representation in popular media. 🎥✨
