No matter how many times he tries to avoid it, McCoy always ends up coming back to the beach.

It’s something about the ocean, especially on a windy day. How the wind makes the waves thrash about against the rocks, and how the water becomes completely freezing, harsh and unwelcoming. So much unlike what it was during a sunny day.

That’s how he felt too, sometimes. He considered himself a good person— or at least he was definitely trying to be. But on some days, he noticed himself becoming more violent; easy to anger. But that’s everything he goes against, right? He hates people like that. So why is he…?

He’s becoming exactly like how he used to be.

He sighs. He should really get going, but the ocean just keeps calling to him. He wants to stay there forever, with his legs half submerged in the cold ocean. But that’s really not possible, not when he has like four other things he needs to get to.

…Four other friends he needs to speak to. He sighs again.

Just as he turns around to leave, he sees a figure not too far away. A young adult with a camera, seemingly taking photos of the sea. Huh.

He remembers how Carmen liked to take photos of the group sometimes. How she suggested she would bring her camera on that trip they were planning awhile back.

…The same trip he bailed on.

❝ Oi, kid! Are you taking photos over there? Can I see? ❞

He decides to call out to him. No harm done, right? I mean, why else would you be wandering around a beach with a camera if not to take photos of people?

…That sounded weirder than he meant it to.

[ Somehow, consistently, he found himself snapped out of his constant daydreaming by someone new. All the time, he's stuck thinking of something new—anything to keep his more terrible thoughts from plaguing him. ]

[ He stumbled over himself, panicking, holding his camera, successfully nearly tripping on sand like a fool. ]

[ How embarrassing. He thought for a bit, wondering where the voice came from before he looked up from his camera to find a silver haired man. ]

[ The man sounded curious about his photos, but Augustine felt that maybe he was more curious about him as a person. He didn't dislike the thought but he pushed away the possibility. ]

"... u-uuh... y... yeah? I... I... I'm taking some photos...... the light is super good right now, and I don't plan on wasting it."

[ He sounded very cheesy somehow. ]

Angelica was wandering. She had been for hours, it was her first time out in awhile, after all. She decided to go out with Forcas by her side, making sure to stay unassuming within the crowd. She seemed to be almost… hiding?

However, someone nearby caught her eye. A boy with a camera! Angelica just loves photography, and he didn’t partially look like anyone she knows… so she goes to approach, not really caring what Forcas says.

❝ Hello, there! What a wonderful camera you have! ❞

❝ Ah— apologises if I’m interrupting anything, I just couldn’t help but notice it! ❞

Forcas is yelling for her to come back in the distance.

[ God, walking as such a goddamn issue. He didn't have a crutch to help with the aching, it just kept hurting. What hurt more was the snow beneath his shoes. ]

[ Cold. The winter wind bit into his ankle, mocking his inability to walk normally. ]

[ Thankfully, he had his winter clothes on. So it wasn't that cold. ]

"This fuckin' snow..." [ He grumbled, carrying two bags. His grumpiness mitigated the uncanny feeling of being watched. ]

[ Hopefully it wasn't another one of his absurd nightmares. He had stayed out too long, limping in the snow. ]

Gaz being the only one capable of a normal relationship is kinda funny.

I also think he might get a kept pet but he didn't mean to, it was an accident he swears!! It started as a completely normal relationship, maybe they went on 1 or 2 dates and she tells him about her ex bc he's still hung up on her and might do something stupid when he finds put she's seeing Gaz.

And Gaz immediately feels this overwhelming protectiveness, at first he isn't bothered by it bc he's always been protective of the people he cares about. But then the ex does find out about them and starts harassing her, going as far as showing up at her flat a few times and she always calls Gaz to chase him away and the protectiveness increases and transforms into possessiveness.

And then one night she calls him crying, asking if he can pick her up from work bc her ex is in front of the door and won't leave and she's closing on her own, and she doesn't know what to do!!

So obviously Gaz is there, brings her to his home and soothes her until she falls asleep but he doesn't, bc he could keep her safe, could make sure no one hurts or scares her again. And he feels so guilty for thinking it but three of his friends seem to be more than happy with their kept pets and the kept girls seem content too so would it really be so bad???

Maybe he calls price and the captain helps him set up his very own safe house just in case...

Hi 🐻!!! Don’t apologize for such a brilliant Thought. I absolutely love it!!!!

I can l see him bringing it up as a Totally Casual Hypothetical and his stressed girlfriend being way more enthusiastic than he expects, even for a fantasy. When he mentions it to the rest of the team, he gets a resounding “do it” but he’d feel terrible to force her into anything.

All it takes is one close call when he’s not there to protect her - a call to the cops and her sobbing to him over the phone while he’s halfway across the world and useless.

He still asks. Frames it as a “vacation” while he deals with the ex. She jumps at the idea. Packs… way too much and lets him sweep her away to safe house. They’re only supposed to spend a week. But she actually begs him to extend it for a week, please, baby?

And how is he going to say no to her pleading little face? She’s been so relaxed!!

And then she asks for another few days…. Which turns into another week. And then before he realizes it, he’s suggesting they just finish out the month. And she happily accepts.

“I wish it could be like this forever,” she whispers one night, tucked in close and clinging. She’s been sleeping so well.

That’s what spurs him to make it happen for her. He gets tips about making a safe home for her. Mainly security and keeping others out - he never wants her to feel trapped.

He transfers them to the new house and explains the idea. She hesitates at first but he’s gentle and understanding.

“Look if it freaks you out, we don’t have to. We can go back to the flat and… everything, if you want,” he offers, so so nervous. “But I’d really like to take care of you. Could we just… try it for a bit? See how we like it?”

She considers but it’s really no question, is it? Kyle has been so perfect and kind and good to her.

“Yeah… yeah, babe. Let’s do it!”
