Fluffy and angsty headcanons of Texas/Oklahoma because why not

Texas and Oklahoma have dates where they ride around through the mountains and woods on their horses. They'll walk through the streams with their pant legs pulled up, splashing water at each other and dragging the other into kisses. By the time they are back its late at night (if they didn't spend the night outside) and are covered in dirt, giggling and shoving each other like teenagers in love

They have many fights at meetings so as to not fight at home. They may love each other lots, but they still have their differences. It's better off fighting at a meeting (where its pretty much supposed to happen, to Gov's dismay) then fighting at home around the kids and making their house toxic. They always leave the meeting together and are seen with happy faces, so it works for them. (Sometimes this isn't the case, but it usually is)

Whenever Texas gets drunk, he becomes very sappy. He will literally waltz Oklahoma around the house and kiss every inch of him that he can. Throwing praises at Oklahoma for being able to handle his dumbass. When he's super drunk he starts talking to Oklahoma in Spanish

Oklahoma is the only one who has heard Texas speak Spanish for a long time (the last time being right after becoming a state and letting his people know). Texas feels so safe around him to not be afraid to talk in Spanish

Oklahoma has collections of wood carvings that Texas made throughout the decades, it was the first courting gift that Texas gave him and every anniversary he gets another one

They would so have matching belts, Oklahoma has Texas's state flower on his belt buckle and Texas has Oklahoma's

They would watch old Wild West films together, Texas would be the one to talk the whole time and calling characters stupid when Oklahoma is just combing through his hair and not paying attention

Texas combs Oklahoma's hair everyday; every time he walks up, takes a shower, comes back from the field, and gets ready for bed. He picks out different ribbons to braid into his hair, I can so see him picking them out at the store or getting them made for Oklahoma.

Oklahoma every week will make a new bouquet of flowers for Texas, picking them from their garden and making them all pretty for him. Texas gets embarrassed every time and acts all manly but he really does love them

Their house is always loud; Texas is in the kitchen making a mess, the kids are running around with their mud covered shoes, the dogs are running everywhere, somehow a pig got in, and Oklahoma is just making one of the little ones giggle

Whenever Texas gets on Oklahoma's nerves, Oklahoma makes him sleep in the barn. Not that Texas minds, of course. He's already slept in there multiple times just because. Though that won't stop him from being a little upset about having to leaving his comfy bed to go sleep on hay bales. (Oklahoma gives him a pillow and blanket)

Texas is still learning to be and accepting and good parent with Oklahoma's help. He doesn't want to end up hurting his kids or for his kids not to like him, not like how he was raised, so he's learning. Oklahoma is learning as well, but he is a little farther ahead than Texas in his knowledge

Texas has a bad back that constantly cracks from the shit he’s put it/been through. Oklahoma massages his back and helps him stand up and walk when it is really bad. Sometimes Texas can’t walk or move it without agonizing pain so he’ll spend the day in bed while Oklahoma takes care of him. (Sometimes his back is just too stiff for him to move). He cries a lot on those days from embarrassment, anger, sadness, etc because his body is “ruined.” (in his eyes, he is weak on those days. Oklahoma makes sure to tell him otherwise with firm and loving words.)

Oklahoma gets really bad migraines that leave him stuck in bed. He always tries to get up and trudge through it but Texas forces his ass back into bed each time. He'll spend the day in his dark bedroom, warm tea, soup, and pain meds resting on his bedside table, and in quiet. Texas makes sure to keep the kids away from Oklahoma and quiet/out of the house so Oklahoma can heal and won't be in more pain. Sometimes Oklahoma will drag Texas into the bed (if its a slow free day) and latch onto him, refusing to let him get up. (not like Texas wants too/will)

Texas is really good at sewing, he keeps it a secret to others but he will always fix Oklahoma's ripped shirts. He always teases him for being clumsy but doesn't mind at all. It's not just Oklahoma but his kids too.

Quick (Informal) PSA For Therian Minors

I see a lot of minors in the community who seem very...comfortable, I guess, with sharing personal information and photos on here and other sites, and I just wanted to speak my piece about it.

Something I remembered from another post that I wanna steal because I love the wording: before you share something on the internet, think what could someone who wanted to hurt me do with this information? Not trying to be condescending, I'm an adult and I think that exact sentence in my head before I post/comment/DM anything related to myself.

Just saw a post where a well-meaning therian minor linked their Youtube channel, which has videos of them irl (wearing a mask, but still) doing quads outside and at an indoor non-chain business with the name/logo of the building clearly visible.

I cannot emphasize how much I was taught to be extremely careful about posting any irl images as a kid/teen, as people can infer your location from very minor details, MUCH LESS VIDEOS OF MY WHOLE BODY IN AN EASILY GOOGLE-ABLE LOCATION. What happens if someone with malicious intent sees that video, which is public on youtube? What will you do when someone attempts to blackmail or doxx you? Not only would this would-be criminal know where you are, they can also see how old you are and exactly what you look like. Terrifying.

(I understand we're in a culture of many people posting videos of themselves online, but (in my opinion) it's just not safe to be uploading public content that's advertising "Hi I'm bodily a child/teenager and this is what I look like and this is close to where I live and I'm also a therian who's probably hiding this account from my parents")

This individual is essentially just trusting that no one on the entirety of Youtube will just google the name of the indoor facility (along with any other location-identifying posts they may make) and either threaten them via doxxing or just straight up threaten their life/safety.

I knew someone in school who got too comfortable in an in-game chat, and was lulled into a false friendship and tricked into mentioning his address. Then he was threatened and told to send them money or they would physically find him. Thankfully he felt safe enough to tell his parents, who knew how to stop the situation. I know a lot of us aren't out to our family, and I dread to think what would have happened if the boy I knew hadn't felt safe enough to explain the situation to his parents.

TLDR; before you post personal info/photos, think of the absolute worst evil that someone could do to you with that information. I know it's a bummer, but doxxing/blackmail happens more than you think, and even if your posts only seem to get low notes/likes/whatever, they can theoretically be seen by ANYONE, including people who want to hurt you.

(also I don't mean to call out or harass anyone, I'm not trying to be mean, I just wanted to use an example bc it's what inspired me to make this post and also I wanted to outline why real behaviours I'm seeing can be dangerous, rather than just making up hypotheticals)

Had his left leg bitten off during an alligator accident and it never grew back right so he uses a prosthetic. Sometimes will throw his prosthetic leg at states whenever he's bored or they get on his nerves.

Has a bunch of tattoos. Big tattoo on his back, one full sleeve on left arm, couple on his ankles and feet, few on his chest and ribs, couple on his right arm, one behind his ear, and one on his lower back. Dude is covered head to toe. (His favorites being the ones Loui and Cal tattooed on him)

Sharp as fuck teeth. No joke those things are DEADLY. Also has a gap tooth that he likes to use to shoot water at the states. [It drives everyone nuts]

Can drink his oceans water and be completely okay.

During hurricanes he has to be monitored since he's died during them a bunch. He coughs up salt water, his lungs will get filled up, blood gets replaced with salt water, etc. He once died 12 times in one sitting from a really bad hurricane. It's not fun and he hates it.

Very attached to Loui. When Spain left him with Gov he was thrown into a new scary world and unsure of what to do/where to go. Running into Louisiana was pure fate in his eyes. He wouldn't be the same if he hadn't met him.

He has his own language with Louisiana. The two of them made it centuries ago when they couldn't speak to each other and ended up adding to it more and more. Louisiana and Florida are fluent in it and like to confuse people by talking to each other in it. (I've been thinking about making their actual code or language type thing. if i do i'll make a post about it)

Once bit a walmart employee during a weekly grocery run with a few other states. he’s banned from that walmart now. (you can’t ban him. he will come back no matter what)

His room is FILLED with plushies. He's got plushies from all sorts of places and people laying about. Sitting on his bed, thrown on the floor, up on his desks/shelves, everywhere. Lots of them are from Louisiana and California, some from other south states, and even one from Gov as a gift when he was sick. consider: adaptation of HP Lovecraft's Shadow Over Innsmouth where the only real change is that the narrator is clearly an alterhuman but so deep in the closet he doesn't even recognize it himself. There's an air of deep unhappiness and awkwardess around his status as a human, and while he is terrified of the Deep Ones you can tell he's appreciative, and maybe even a tad jealous, of their piscivorous teeth, webbed digits, leathery scales, and prominent gills.

The same diary logs at the end but instead of feeling like he's losing himself he finds himself loving the changes that are happening to his body. The familiar coldness of his new scales, the shedding of his itchy mammal hairs, the euphoria of waking up and checking how his gills are coming in every day. Looking in the mirror and seeing himself happier, more confident, and excited to spend the rest of his life with beings like him.

I think that both Gaara and Naruto are very emotional people who have also struggled a lot with emotional regulation... like their reactions have always been very intense and would sometimes overwhelm them (anger and sorrow/distress especially hit them really hard)

It's like... they both have trouble "feeling too much" as a consequence of their trauma and have emotional responses that sometimes veer out of their control. It's really clear with Naruto pretty much every time he starts to go kyuubi mode and/or breaks down crying whenever something reminds him of his childhood. And I think people tend to forget Gaara is like this too bc he went from being so unhinged (like "anger problems" would be understatement of the century here lmao) to always being so calm and rational, but even after that change you can tell from his internal dialogue that his feelings surrounding his trauma and loneliness etc. still run very deep.

Another thing that sort of ties into this imo is the way they both really yearn to feel loved and wanted by the people around them. Gaara decided to become Kazekage for basically the exact same reasons Naruto wanted to become Hokage, thinking it would give them the opportunity to gain people's admiration so they'd feel needed... and what Gaara said about how Naruto achieved their dream of becoming necessary presences in the world, bc both of them grew up feeling like their existences were unwanted and meaningless. I'd say they both are the kind of people who need a lot of love and attention and emotional support/reassurance, but neither of them will ever demand or even just ask for it bc they both feel like it's their responsibility to have to 'earn' it.

Anyway I'm not really going anywhere in particular with this lmao, just some random thoughts..... I think it's one of the many things that make them so similar deep down despite being such different people? Like their whole being mirror images of each other thing that gives them such a unique ability to understand each other

The mask and the black markings, depending on what they are (and the black accent color overall tbh) would lead me to believe that it might be part mime or Pierrot- it’s a little difficult to tell without a clear image. It’s shy nature would lead me in this direction also, but judging by the fact that it’s in your attic of all places it’s story might be a bit more complicated… (I hope it is alright :0( )

Furthermore, the bright colors may be indicative of some party genes as well!! (Again, given it’s not like porcelain sized) Clowns of course come in many different colors across breeds BUT red and gold/yellow color combos are a staple among party clowns!! Along with very fun and poofy costumes hehe

Without being able to get a super clear picture, some sort of party/sad clown mix is probably my best guess! Leaning more towards sad clown tho..

Besides the breed of the clown, though, it seems as if that clown (based on its fear of you) will need a lot of love and care- an attic usually isn’t a very good place for a clown, but it might be looking for the safest option available to it. Leaving out food and trying to show that you’re not a threat might help to coax it out of hiding. If you have a clown shelter in your area, give them a call as well!! :0)
