I’d say that the Researcher first encounters Harpy! Nightingale while climbing a tree to document harpy eggs during their breeding season. For harpies and other bird-like monsters, they are capable of laying eggs like regular birds, however they are also capable of laying unfertilized eggs if the harpy doesn’t have a mate during the breeding season.

The Researcher accidentally stumbles upon Nightingale’s nest of unfertilized eggs and while she is distracted in drawing them, Nightingale suddenly comes back from her hunt and stares at this strange human who appears to have gotten stuck in her tree. Instead of pecking her to death however, Nightingale decides she could just make the Researcher her mate instead. After all it is breeding season, and Nightingale wants to be able to start a family one day…

The Researcher’s Notes after her encounter with Harpy! Nightingale:

- Harpies are amongst one of the most common monster species in the world. They are as common as slimes and werewolves.

- Like birds, Harpies’ bones are hollow which allows them to become airborne and fly. However, this does make them more prone to injuries.

- The wings on Harpies are extremely sensitive. If you rub the underside of them, it could get them aroused to the point of wanting to mate right away.

- Harpies can come in many bird species. Harpy! Nightingale specifically is a nightingale bird (lol)
