if anyone is looking for the perfect slow burn for kaeya (x reader), i totally recommend checking out "Lips Turn Blue" by volti on AO3!

i read it in full last night despite it being a school night, purely because once i started reading it, i couldn't stop. the author has a wonderful way with words and managed to write the most beautiful descriptions that made my heart flutter. it takes about 2 hours, more or less depending on how fast you read.

the reader owns a bookstore in mondstadt that kaeya frequently visits, and the fic basically showcases the growing feelings between them. the characterisation is perfect in my opinion, and it features a more reserved, shy reader, but one that has tremendous wit. the banter between the two was so amusing to read, written in a way where you couldn't help but get attached to kaeya. there's also a blossing friendship between the reader and albedo!

to really hammer my point home (if you're still reading this post), here's two of my favourite descriptions from the fic that i literally had to stop reading and marvel after reading it:

'The way art comes along is that it is forever a process, doomed never to be finished even when it is finished. Agonized over for never quite matching the vision in the head. Lifted as the heart of one’s pride, crumpled and tossed as the depths of one’s failure, or quietly placed aside with the resignation that it is simply “good enough.” Revisited later, sometimes to cringe, sometimes to marvel, always to mark improvement unseen in the moment. It comes along the way time passes—sometimes dragging, sometimes racing, but always, always doing so.'

you see what i mean by description? 🥹 i actually had to stop reading after this and rant about the way it was so beautifully worded to my friend

Stumbling upon this blog was a pleasant experience! We are a conceptkin, specifically voidkin.
