So I feel it is important to note that when I returned to this blog and started playing in the DC fandom I had very little real knowledge of the characters beyond what was in the general pop culture zeitgeist. I've been playing catch-up in the comics since, but there are still some characters that I just do not know much about. Two-Face is one of them, simply because he doesn't feature as much in the stories I'm reading.

That said.

I genuinely find him a fascinating character. He is built to be almost the perfect study of opposites, with Harvey's desire [initially, anyway] to uphold the law and Two-Face as a criminal mastermind. But there's a lot of overlap between the two and it does them both an injustice to think of them that way. They are inextricably linked, even beyond the idea that Two-Face has always been there [as a direct result of Harvey's own trauma], and it's impossible to think of one without the other.

The fixation on the coin, especially, I find to be the best part, and the key factor in what I'm about to say: I actually don't think of Two-Face as a villain. I don't think he's a good person by any stretch, but he's not intrinsically evil, either[well. half of him isn't >w>]. He is an antagonist, but not necessarily a villain, because a villain would never actively help the good guys unless it directly benefited him to do so. Two-Face, however, is so bound to obeying the coin that he can, will, and does follow as it dictates. Even if it would directly mean his own death.

Honestly? Because of the coin and his adamant insistence on following it, Two-Face is arguably the single closest character I have ever seen to being Lawful Neutral. But thing is, I can only really say that because you cannot talk about only Two-Face or only Harvey. The former, as we've seen many a time, is evil, and the latter is good, and both are Lawful because they follow a code. The code is 'do as the coin says', but it's still a code and neither one will break it. Combine the two, and suddenly the character as a whole becomes Lawful Neutral, and honestly it's kind of fascinating.

// Fuck I forgot cause it's been so long... I think it was WAY back in the Wii/Wii U era with the latter being Miiverse of all places to start RPing on. EVEN OLDER THAN WINE with Animal Crossing City Folk RPing about by myself like it was a long-running JRPG series (I spent too many hours on Animal Crossing thanks to that lmao) so I had to be around my teen-ish years on that.

// My first muse here was none other than Edward Elric! My hyperfixation at the time was full-on FMA and I really loved the shrimp. He's like an OG muse of mine that I haven't played in like, forever!

🌹 ~ what's the best inspiration for your muse?

// It's really just sitting down and watching or playing the game or show respectively, and Youtube videos of it that helps my inspiration. Plus it depends on what I'm fixated on at the time!

🌷 - What's a few candle scents you like?

I really like woodsy scents, leaning toward a rather masculine aroma. I also love linen, lmao. I love the smell of CLEAN. My bestie just got me a linen candle for Christmas, and I can't wait to light it!!

🌈 - What is something you enjoy about yourself? What is something others have said they enjoy about you?

WELL, I honestly am obsessed with myself XD! I enjoy almost everything about myself, and the things I don't, I consider areas of improvement, so I guess that's what I enjoy the most. My ability to not give up?

I think a word that stands out from everyone I've met is "trustworthy," and I really appreciate that because I believe it's the door to genuine relationships.

A decent amount emotionally, I think. Writing has always been cathartic to me in some way or another.

Not much. Then again, I'm not really out here trying to 'achieve' anything other than tell my dumb stories and throw my dumb blorbos around xD

🌼 - Do you think you could ever stop roleplaying now?

Nah. I like writing, and I like cooperative writing. And even then, my husband is also a nerd and we play TTRPGs together all the time. So... no. Can't stop won't stop.

🌻 - What do you do between replies?

I'unno, chill? Look for memes to reblog, usually. Read everyone elses' RPs as they cross my dash. Try to work up the courage to interact with folks. Go to work. Contemplate stupid choices.

🌸 - Have you ever been in a group? Would you do it again?

As in a group RP? I have, and I probably would. They're much easier on Discord/whatever other messaging program you have (I started RPing on AIM, okay?), and I find I'm less likely to forget to reply because multiple pings will tend to do that xD

Yeh, I think so. At least a couple that still chat with me~

Oh... uh... I should put a wishlist together, I guess. Probably make it easier for folks that want to interact... maybe. But there's a lot. I have an entire flow chart of the ways my characters are connected and it keeps getting worse.There's a lot.

But in general? Here's three:

I'd like Alethea to learn to be more 'human', because she's just really broken in how she views herself and her place in the universe.

Mahv needs to find a place they belong, and get some help with all their problems.

I want Tesari to yeet an Astartes at least once.

There’s a few I met back in the day when I was in the One Piece RPC and they’ve since left tumblr due to life getting busy and then during my time on this blog I’ve met a ton of great people who I consider my true friends but to list a couple: @cannibalmariku​ , @ragnaofazure​ , @championselect​ , @chxckandmxte​ , @devotionobsessed​ , and @nefer-seshen​ ! those are the ones i’ve really talked to a lot and have helped me through issues ;w ;

// Past me would've squirm a little at this one. Nowadays, I'm all for someone coming into my DMs and figuring things out like grown adults instead of making a scene. 🌺 - How much do you draw on personal experiences when roleplaying?

Sometimes a bit too much. I've wondered before if this blog has become too self-insert. In my more self-aware moments, I deliberately take a step back.

🍀 - How much do you think you have achieved with your blog?

I did quit this blog in 2017, and it lay fallow for a couple of years. At that time, I thought I'd ticked every box on my list, and honestly had reached a point of burnout. It's interesting now to read my farewell message. Now? I don't have goals. Kisuke and I just exist here. It's probably for the best...

🌼 - Do you think you could ever stop roleplaying now?

I've tried. I honestly have. I quit for a few months once. But there's something about this creative space and creative mind that keeps luring me back.

🌻 - What do you do between replies?

Other than attending to the necessary demands of life, I enjoy chatting with mutuals!

🌸 - Have you ever been in a group? Would you do it again?

Not a closed group, no, and it's because I don't like the idea of limiting my options. As frustrating as it is to have mutuals come and go in the wild indie RP lands, there's always a sense of new possibilities that come with that constant change, and hence the potential for new inspiration.

🌹  - Have you met true friends through roleplaying?

I absolutely have! There's someone I meet up with IRL regularly, and that never would have happened without roleplay. We've been part of each other's lives in tangible ways for several years now. There's another dear friend an ocean away... and people all over the globe I chat with often. Even if we're online-only friends, that still means something to me!

🍄 - What’s one bad habit you know you have in writing?

Ooh, this is tough. I think I can become too indulgent in my own prose. I do love wordplay and rhetorical devices like assonance and alliteration, and sometimes it's probably a bit too stilted and overdone. But I like doing it! It makes writing fun for me!

🍁 - How do you want to explore your muse further? Is there a wishlist?

Well, that's the million-dollar question, isn't it? I'd like to say there are no goals, but I do want to see him grow. I'm not content writing a static character. I'd like to see him learn how to do the hard work in a relationship, when it's not easy or fun; to stop retreating to focus on outward things rather than push through the wall and address his own avoidance. I will confess here that while I'm leery of writing him in romantic situations, there are times when it would be nice to let him have some softness. He does miss the comfort of it sometimes, and he tends to be so detached. I feel he is learning to take ownership of his mistakes and become more responsible in his relationships by allowing himself to be more invested in them... maybe it's not a smooth or general progression, but I see encouraging signs and I'd like them to continue.
