     It was a spur of the moment sort of thing. Marik had every intention of letting the shadows consume the spirit of the Pharaoh’s partner, but when the opportunity arose, he took it. He always had a knack at learning people’s fears and weaknesses, and he could easily see what really scares Yuugi.      A subtle smirk crosses his visage, beginning a circle around the other, “Have your fears come true, little Yuugi. . .? No matter what happened with that duel, you would have been left alone. The Pharaoh would have eventually left you--so little care for what you wanted. Just like the others.”      He steps closer, letting the smirk grow into a grin, “How about I help you out. No more fear of being alone again, afraid of the day your friends will leave you because you’re not worth it once the Pharaoh leaves.”

     “You almost sound surprised.” He chuckles low, stepping slowly from the shadows to reveal himself. It was the most inopportune time for the target of his attention, but the perfect time for Marik. A quiet place, few prying eyes, “Did you expect me to be gone forever? Tsk tsk you got too comfortable.”      Marik begins a circle around Yuugi, eyes glued and studying, readjusting to the passage of time. How long has he waited for such a moment, only the thoughts of revenge surfacing through the haze and shadows.

     “Well well. . .~” Marik purrs, yet to turn his attention from the glass filled with dark liquid. For once, he will be civil considering the crowd around in the club, “I didn’t expect to see you here.” A quick sip of the drink is taken, haunting eyes finally turn their gaze to the face.      “Guess I’ll have to practice manners just this once.”

     @duelingdestiny​​ ♕  "I can't believe you don't want to date me." Atem sniggered because the whole thing was so absurd.

     “As if that is a surprise,” Marik hums, leaning forward to get closer to Atem’s height, “And what, did you say yes to wanting to date me?” He will agree though, the whole thing is pretty absurd.

     “Did Ra’s fire burn more than their souls. . .?” Why the hell are they going on about vanilla?

     “Perhaps I’ll give another try at that dueling thing.” He does miss the cruelty that comes with a Shadow Game done through dueling, “Makyura and Des Guardius are growing restless.”

     He had seen some odd looking creatures, but this little mouse has a familiar look to it. The shadow’s expression shifts to something pensive, stepping closer with light footsteps before placing a boot in front of the little mouse, “The goddess of fate must be frowning upon you, fa'ar saghir.”      Marik had heard of gods being able to shift forms--something he knows well--but mortals? Must be magic’s fault.

     “You can say that sin pulls me in~” Marik purrs, “Makes little mortals so much more interesting.”

     A deep rumbling growl rises from the darkness, the only sign aside from the looming presence to give away the creature. When close enough, from the blackness eyes and the mouth illuminating, purple spreading to the spines. It stands to its full intimidating height, exhaling a breath that seeps out smoke.      Nothing is spoken, eyes staring, waiting for a movement to be made.

     “You might be a bit late on that~” Marik purrs, glancing to the blood that coats the tips of his fingers, “Chaos has already arrived.” Although, he is always happy to have more chaos going around. The more chaos, the more the shadows can slip into the waking world.

     “You’re far from safety sniffing around here. . .” Marik chuckles, standing up from the old chair he had made himself comfortable on. His spine gives way slightly, his upper body slouching forward as his arms hang limply at his sides.      Fingers twitch as he regains control, shifting shoulder to stand up to his full height, “Don’t you know it’s dangerous to scurry into spooky places all alone. . .?” The low laugh reverberates from his chest, keeping to the shadows to obscure most of his visage.
