Noah came back to the table with two drinks in his hands, one for him and one for Yasmine. Taking a seat next to her, he placed her glass in front of her smiling at her as he clinked his own against hers. "A drink for the pretty lady," he added before he took a sip from his whiskey, "having fun?"

   —   "did i say you look gorgeous yet?" he questioned aware he'd given more than enough compliments so far, but looking at her he couldn't believe how the stars aligned in his favor to call yas his girlfriend. "absolutely gorgeous," he smiled, giving her hand a light squeeze and leaning down to peck her lips. "this place looks nice," he observed as they moved inside, nodding and smiling at the people he knew. he stopped one of the waiters thanking them as he took two champagne glasses, handing one to her. "it's good to know people want to help rebuild mama's"

"okay, hold up. what movies are you watching?" he questioned, his eyebrows furrowing. he's never even heard about whatever the hell lavalantula was, let alone sit down to watch it. "zombie tidal wave? no seriously, what movies are you watching?"

"sharknado was crazy" why would they even make six movies from that? that was the one thing she wanted to know. "can't forget Lavalantula as well. that movie creeped me out." that was the one movie she did not want to watch again. why anyone would even make a movie like that was beyond her. "i think there's a movie that can top sharknado. it's called zombie tidal wave."

hugo: baby, you're probably still at work. [he sighs, wishing he could hear her voice before heading out]

hugo: [a small pause later he ran a hand through his face before continuing] i'm going out there, please don't worry yourself to death. you know me and the team always look out for each other. and please stay at home, i will call you the second i can.[he closed the car door, nodding to his colleague as he used his free hand to start the engine] i'll see you later, that's a promise.

“just peachy?” she asked as she looked at him. she knew greyson. and most of the time, he was in a good mood. but just from the looks of it, it seemed as if he wasn’t. in a way, it did worry her. “is everything okay? be honest with me greyson.” she didn’t want him to lie to her. that was the last thing she wanted. he should know by now he can tell her anything. she’s always been that person to be there for those around her if they needed a shoulder to lean on. “yeah.” she agreed before taking a sip of her beer. “just wanted some fresh air.”

“absolutely peachy,” he turned to look at her with a smile, “everything’s okay, yas. i don’t even have shit to be sad about, because i’ve always known my family sucks.” ever since his father left them he thought it was because of him, there was always that little voice nagging in the back of his mind and yesterday it was gone, because now it was reality. “i just thought it’d be nice to bond with my dad. punched him in the face a few times for our father-son activity. he told me neither of my parents want me.”

"hurriquake?" he questioned, he can't and doesn't want to imagine how that went. "sounds like something you'll hear in movies. can't say we don't deserve it lowkey."

"an earthquake and a hurricane happening at the same time on the west coast. that is crazy." she noted as she took a sip from her coke. who would have even thought it would have happened. part of her was glad though that she didn't live out there. "some people are apparently calling it a hurriquake now." it made sense to call it that. even if the word wasn't real.

"i don't think it'll make a very interesting movie." he points out, "and sharknado is just insane. how are there six movies?" granted he's only watched one of them, but that was more than enough for a lifetime.

"yeah, its a weird term." but he was right, it did sound like something one would hear about in movies. "I won't be surprised if someone were to make a movie on it. i mean someone did make a movie called sharknado." she pointed out.

“well your parents definitely do not sound like they’re that great.” any parent who had the nerve to say they didn’t want their child were horrible in her eyes. yasmin knew how that was though. when she had told her ex, emines father, about being pregnant. that didn’t go well at all. with him saying he didn’t want the child what so ever. its what lead her to raise emine alone without him.  "when i found out i was pregnant with emine, i told my ex who is her father, and he said he didn’t want her.“   she had only told a few people too at the time about that. "there’s plenty of people here who do want you in their life though. and those people who do, they’re your family, grey. your so called parents can go screw themselves. if they can’t see how well you turned out then fuck them.”

greyson laughed at her statement, his luck with his family only going as far to have dante, someone he loved like a brother and someone who understood him in a way not a lot of people can. “you can tell emine to come my way when she grows up and wants to see her dad. i can teach her where to punch.” he joked, though part of him was serious. parents like that deserved it. “i know, i know...” he trailed off taking a long swig from his beer, “it doesn’t make it hurt any less... knowing you got it wrong before day one. i’ll be fine, yas. i just need a minute to dwell on it i guess.”

coming to the beach wasn’t something she really did. at least by herself. most of the time, emine would be with her, ready to swim in the water too. noticing someone up ahead of her, she couldn’t help but to raise an eye.  taking a deep breath, she sat down on the sand next to him. being offered a beer, she wasn’t one to say no. especially if it was free. “yeah, i’ll take on.” she spoke before taking it. “you okay?” she asked, raising an eyebrow as she looked over at him.

"peachy," he replied with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. he's been feeling terrible ever since he went to face his father, at first he thought it was a mistake, but at least now he knew the truth and he said things he's been trying to tell him for years now. "nothing like a drink with a view, right?" he glanced at yasmin before he turned to look at the water, the beer bottle in his hand going up for a sip. "what got you on the beach?"
