❧ Never Have I Ever ☙
➤ @tnott asked: “I’m assuming the date didn’t go well?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
❝Is it that obvious?❞ The curly haired witch sighed, her brows knitting together as she looked toward the other witch. The pair had been meeting for tea / coffee and a chitchat every week, weekly updates and the such. Girl things, really. Whereas she could go to see Ginny, which was still great, Theo was another source to just blow off some steam. She had known about her break up with Ron and supported her through that, and it had been several months since. It was Theo who suggested she try dating again, much to Hermione's confusion to the suggestion. NOT that she wasn't over Ronald—she certainly was.
Tumblr media
Her hands reaching for her honey tea, a drink that helped settle her nerves ( she preferred her coffee when it came to most cases but tea was still nice ), Hermione gave it a light sip, ❝No, it went okay. I just don't think he's...❞ She trailed off, trying to think of the perfect phrasing, ❝My type?❞ Did that even make sense? Did Hermione even have a type? Some people would say the Quidditch Players type, but she'd wrinkle up her nose and disagree with you. ❝We just didn't click, it isn't his fault. More-so me.❞ The bloke in question was Anthony Goldstein, a lovely lad, but he just wasn't, like she said, her type.

She groaned at the first bit. No, no one would expect that of her, even if Theo was just being playful. The Golden Girl sleeping with a man, drunk as well, mind you, and getting pregnant from it? Luckily the papers hadn't caught on the actual story behind it and only made note that the brightest witch of their age was bound to pop any day now, which was a load of crap—sort of. A few weeks, a month? She didn't know, but that's not that point, wasn't the point.
Tumblr media
❝It's just... mortifying, I suppose. I'm not going to say I'm not ashamed of myself, because I am, but... It isn't her fault.❞ She muttered, her hand resting on her bump. The gender of her little one was a new thing, she told her close friends obviously, but ONLY that circle. Theo was an exception, of course, they'd actually become friends over the years, which of course seemed the most unlikely of things to happen. ❝And I won't let her feel like it is. I want to give her as much of a life as I can give, you know?❞
She'd already had sneers and remarks thrown at her for just being pregnant alone, asked who the father was ( not just by Theo ) and good God, it got annoying. But she will NOT be ashamed for choosing to keep the little one. Ashamed of her drunken choice, yes, but never of the child. ❝I suppose I'm scared of her asking about her father.❞ Because, well, she did obliviate him after their time together. He didn't know her—they didn't even know each other's names when it all happened. ❝But I suppose I'll tackle that when the time's right.❞
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"A one-night stand, Granger? I wouldn't have expected that of you," Theo said. Her tone of voice, though, made it clear that she was merely teasing, and when she spoke next, it was in an attempt to comfort. "That's not that embarrassing," she said. "I mean, really, it's hardly uncommon in this day and age, wouldn't you say? Sometimes women and men slip up and a baby happens. I think it's just worse for you because you have that Golden Girl, world-saving reputation. But you shouldn't let anyone shame you for it, you know. You're a grown woman. You can do what you like."
Theo's friends had taken the news about her own pregnancy fairly well; Pansy had already claimed the right to be godmother, Draco and Astoria were supportive, and Greg said he was looking forward to being an honorary uncle. Even Blaise had had only a few barbed comments for Theo. Theo's aunt Gwendolen, on the other hand, was shocked and appalled, and had made her disappointment plain. Narcissa Malfoy, too, had been looking down her nose at Theo ever since she'd heard. But Theo had found that, quite frankly, she didn't care what a bunch of prim and proper old women thought.
"Keep your head up and walk proudly," she advised Hermione. You have nothing to be embarrassed about."

@tnott asked ❛  what’s going on ?  ❜
Tumblr media
Percy Weasley was not one to bring unnecessary trouble, nor was he one to talk about unnecessary trouble. But unnecessary trouble had a bad habit of existing in the same spaces as him         especially as of late and the whole mess of Mr. Crouch's surprise exit at work ( oh come now percy, he tells himself, your boss has gone missing and without the people at your back, it'd be suspect that you were the one to do it ) was just the most recent trouble. Not that that was what was going on; at least, it wasn't the one thing he was thinking of. Well only a little. But he wasn't going to talk about it. Honestly, he wasn't even sure he could speak about it.
Deep breath, Weasley.
He gave Theodora a very perfunctory nod before speaking, ❝ I'm sure there's a better way to greet your former housemate and former Head Boy. Something like 'hello Percy, how's your new ministry job?' And what makes you think I know what's going on? ❞

Conversation
Pansy: All we need to do is a little creative charm work, and those Gryffindors wont know what hit them.
Theo: Your mind is amazing. If you put this much effort into your school work --
Pansy: Merlin, why do you have to ruin everything?
Greg: I know -- always talkin' about my potential.

@tnott liked for a starter from Millicent | Theodora
The tension was thick as they rode the train to Hogwarts, Death Eaters patrolling the cars. Even though they could’ve been family members of her friends, their presence still put Millicent on edge, a tell-tale sign that things weren’t going to be the same this year. As much as she hated mudbloods and bullied them, torture was another thing.
Millie looked at Theo as they sat, most of their friends silent, none truly wanting what was unravelling. “How was your break?” she asked, trying to grasp some semblance of normalcy.

❧ hogwarts au sentences ☙ ↪ ACCEPTING ↩
➤ @tnott asked: “ sorry, all the other carriages are full, i’m sitting here whether you want it or not. ”
Tumblr media
❝Well, I suppose I can’t really argue,❞ The Gryffindor responded, glancing up from the book she was intently reading moments prior. Sharing a carriage with a Slytherin… what a ride this was going to be.
Tumblr media
Watching the other take her seat, Hermione raised a brow, ❝…Nott, right? Theodora?❞ She asked, making sure that she wasn’t crossing any particular line. Idle conversation couldn’t hurt, surely, and not that she was expecting any form of a response other than really sneering and turning her nose up. Though, she couldn’t really think such a thing, that would be rude considering she didn’t really know this Slytherin particularly. ❝I’d like to think we can sit here peacefully, and enjoy our journey.❞ A bit presumptuous, Hermione, ❝We can do that, can’t we?❞
Tumblr media
It was true that two years of bitter inter-House rivalry had left Theo prone to assume the worst of any Gryffindor. And Hermione Granger frustrated her. Growing up, Theo had always been the smartest of her group of peers – the most intelligent, the most diligent, the most curious, the most well-read. She’d entered Hogwarts expecting that situation to continue, but instead had been faced with some Muggleborn nobody who had proceeded to outscore her in every class. So she’d redoubled her efforts, working harder and studying longer in an attempt to surpass the girl. But it hadn’t made a difference. No matter how much effort Theo put into her assignments, she always came out just behind Hermione Granger. It was maddening.
But still, Theo wasn’t like Draco. She didn’t go out of her way to antagonize her peers. If you left other people alone, she’d found, then they would generally leave you alone. And being left alone was what she wanted.
“I’m not looking to bother you if you’re not looking to bother me,” she said. pulling out her copy of The Essential Defence Against the Dark Arts, this year’s assigned textbook. She wondered what the new professor would be like, and could only hope that he or she would be better than Quirrell or Lockhart.

@tnott ( plotted )
Dennis prided himself on being a, frankly, pretty damn good reporter. He took his job seriously, finished his pieces on time, and respected the people he worked with. Most importantly, he kept in touch with any useful contacts, making himself available so they would genuinely want to pass along good information to him.
And today was one such day. When a friend of his working near the Auror office mentioned that Theodora Nott had been arrested, it raised his eyebrows. But when he heard the reason for her arrest... he’d immediately grabbed his coat. But he had to admit, it wasn’t entirely a good story on his mind this time. This time, he had questions in mind of a more... personal nature.
He had to call in just about every favor that he had, then go through a security screening with a very angry looking Auror, then leave his wand at the front desk. But finally, they let him in to speak with Nott, though they assured him it would have to be a relatively quick conversation, before someone got in trouble.
Tumblr media
Strange. The last time he’d seen her was during the war, during that cold, cold winter... he tried to push past those memories, circling around so she could see him better. “Hi. I don’t know if you remember me... Dennis Creevey. We were at school together.”

@tnott liked this for a starter!
“It was part of their everyday wear, especially if one was part of the higher class. And that’s the reason cursed hairpins were so highly used in the ancient China.” Hermione ended, put her parchment back to her bag and smiled to the teacher and then to her classmates. “Any questions?”
Their History of Magic teacher floated back to his seat. “Well done, miss Grant, well done indeed. What an inspiring and instructive presentation. Ten points to Gryffindor” he said with his monotonous voice and nodded to her.  “It’s Granger actually...” Hermione mumbled but smiled to the praise she had just got while she sat down next to Theodora Nott. It was a Monday morning and her speech had took almost an hour so no wonder that some of the other students were actually snoring, most of them just tried to keep their eyes open.
“It seems that we have run out of time so miss Nott, you have to give your presentation about cursed objects in Wizarding history next week. Your next assignment is going to be a pair assignment, no place switching, your partner is the one sitting next to you. You have to find a mysteriously disappeared or died person in one of your family trees and make some investigations and  presumptions what actually happened. You have two weeks so make them count.”
“Sorry it took so long...” Hermione whispered to Theo while gathering her stuff. “I got little carried away with the subject but it was so interesting...”

@tnott liked for a starter
The Great Hall had a busy atmosphere. Plates were clattering, students were chattering, and all in all, this seemed an altogether ordinary Christmastime dinner at Hogwarts.
Somebody sat down next to Theodora.
Tumblr media
“Hello, Nott,” said Blaise Zabini. As per usual, he had found the time to swap his school robes for more fashionable and flattering clothing the moment their classes had ended.
While a “how are you” would've been much more appropriate way to continue from his hello, Blaise opted to ask a different question instead:
“Slughorn didn’t invite you, didn't he? To that little Christmas party of his.”
The boy lazily piled turkey and gravy onto his plate until it was filled to the brim.
It was a bit unusual for Blaise to approach her like this. While as a pure-blood, Theodora Nott was a part of the chosen few whose existence Blaise Zabini didn't ignore completely, he rarely bothered acknowledging her with anything more than a polite nod.
“Were you hoping to get invited? You are pretty good at Potions, after all,”
Even if he didn't say it out loud, Blaise knew very well why Theodora hadn't received an invitation. Her father, Leontius Nott, was a Death Eater, and professor Slughorn wanted nothing to do with Death Eaters.

"H-how long have you been standing there?" Fifth year Hermione asked as she noticed Theodora Nott standing just behind her after she’d broken the wards that restricted the Restricted Section of the library. It didn’t really matter if she saw her do it. It was obvious given where she was standing and the alarms not going off.

❧ RP Meme That Pom Can't Remember ☙
➤ @tnott asked: "You could go to Azkaban for that."
Tumblr media
❝Say it louder, why don't you?❞ Hermione huffed, trying to shush the other. Yes, she decided to tell Theo about her Undetectable Extension Charm she put onto her little bag. She knew that the charm itself was risky and usually a charm the Ministry managed, a charm not for personal use, so she could get into trouble. But the risk was worth taking, especially at the time she cast it.
Tumblr media
Bringing a hand up to pinch the bridge of her nose, Hermione exhaled a sigh, ❝I know, I know, it's just... given the time I cast it, it was highly necessary.❞ She took a quick glance down to her bag, ❝If I didn't have this bag, we wouldn't have gotten out of such rough situations like we did.❞

The awkwardness she felt only grew. Lovely, this would no doubt be the talk of the house if everyone were to find out that she was, is, indeed a Muggleborn. But alas from that, Hermione kept her composure as cool as possible, acting as casually as she possibly could. Theodora was nice, attempting to actually talk to her instead of ridiculing her. This... This was strange. She was fully expecting to be called out and verbally shoved into a corner. No. No, that wasn't happening.
  Not at all.
Tumblr media
❝Yeah... I've heard that.❞ Came a curt nod, her wild curls mimicking her. But then, her eyes widened. Where were the mean words? These were... questions. Clearing her throat, she nodded again, ❝Yes, it's basically like... getting ahead in one's education, if that makes sense. So things register a lot clearer and easier.❞ Primary school was the easiest thing, not that Hermione was claiming to be the smartest amongst her Muggle peers, but she was up there. A girl who liked to read and take in knowledge when her teachers expected her to run and play with other children around her age. Thank Merlin that she got a spurt of magic, something completely unexpected, but obviously very welcomed. ❝You get taught in multiple subjects by different teachers, and mingle with the other children, just as we are, but... I think it's more, um, lighter? Simpler. Obviously, it isn't meant for wizarding children, but I didn't really show signs of that until later on.❞
A brow raising, Hermione leaned over, having a look at the cover of the book before spotting that it was being handed to her to get a better look. ❝Oh, I would never,❞ The curly haired witch assured, taking the book ever so gently into her hands, chocolate eyes scanning it carefully, taking in all its details. A book given from generation to generation... that's incredible. Admirable. ❝It's lovely,❞ She complimented, ❝I can only imagine how much this means to you.❞
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hermione was a Muggleborn? And she was in Slytherin? That was unusual. The Sorting Hat didn’t generally put Muggleborns in the house of Salazar Slytherin, notorious mistruster of Muggles, unless they really had something to recommend them. Hermione must be unusual in some way – whether that meant intelligence, craftiness, magical talent, or some other desirable skill.
Perhaps Leontius Nott would have liked his daughter to dissociate herself from Hermione Granger, but Theo’s curiosity had been piqued. So she said, perfectly pleasantly, “Are they really? That’s unusual in Slytherin, you know. You must be very ambitious.” Handing the copy of Matilda back to Hermione, Theo continued, “I’ve never met a Muggleborn before. Or a Muggle, for that matter. Is it true that the Muggles make you go to school from age five, instead of letting your parents teach you at home? That’s what I’ve heard.”
She couldn’t even imagine how Wizarding society could make that work. Scores of boys and girls too young to have any control over their magic, all crammed into one building? It would be bedlam. At least when Theo had sometimes lost control of her magic when she was small her father had only had one child to calm and clean up after. Besides, Theo had liked being educated at home. As far as she was concerned, her father had been the best teacher in the world and no one else possibly could have matched him.
At Hermione’s question, Theo hesitated for a moment, and then pulled out her illustrated copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, the one that she’d inherited from her mother, who had inherited it in turn from her mother. “My mum gave me this,” she said, handing the book to Hermione with poorly disguised reluctance. “And her mum gave it to her. Be careful; it’s very old. I guess you could call it my comfort read. She used to read it to me before bed when I was small.”

As far as Lucius Malfoy was concerned, every day was Saturday. As a gentleman, he had the luxury of choosing any day of the week for work or leisure and only adjusted his schedule for others’ benefit. One such occasion was when he and Narcissa would invite children over to play with Draco, and Saturday was, naturally, the preferred day of other parents.
They had been organizing these play dates for quite a few years now, at first inviting as many potential (and appropriate) friends their manor could host in a single day, but as their son got older and started having his own ideas about who he should associate with they allowed him to choose who to have over. To Lucius’ consternation Draco’s favourite playmates turned out to be Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle. There was nothing really objectionable about the boys, but Lucius had hoped his son would make at least one friend with more on their mind than… Well, with more on their mind. Perhaps he’d have to cut the fun short and start making the list of guests himself.
As luck would have it, the very Saturday he had hoped to spend taking a look at some of his old Dark Arts artefacts (and thinking about what he’d to with one in particular) was also the Saturday Draco decided he wanted to invite a large party to visit the manor – he’d just learned a new manoeuvrer on his broom and couldn’t wait to have a bigger audience to show it to. Lucius thought about leaving his project for another day, but decided that his son probably wouldn’t neglect all the other children in favour of his usual companions, and proceeded on his business unperturbed.
A few hours into the task he’d managed to compile a considerable list of objects he no longer had any use for, and among them was an ordinary looking, mostly blank, diary – the only one of the items he didn’t dare selling. Lucius still very much wanted to get rid of it, however; it was surrounded by powerful dark magic (of the kind he really didn’t want near his son) and damning evidence against him to boot, but he couldn’t simply pawn it off. He was mulling over what end he should give the book when the library door was opened. He had expected his wife would be the one to walk into the room, but when he noticed that the frame in the passageway belonged to a child he hastily shoved the diary into one of his pockets.
Miss Nott.” He greeted as though he hadn’t just attempted to hide something right in front of her “Are you lost? Or perhaps just tired of broom tricks?” That tactic would never work on Draco, who’d immediately demand to know what he was hiding in his vests, but he doubted Theodora could be as ill-mannered as his son.

@tnott liked this for a starter from Ronald || Theodora
Without the uniforms, all Ron could see was a pretty girl who looked like she needed a dance. Now, Ron obviously wasn’t the most comfortable with dancing, having actually lost his date moments ago cause he wouldn’t dance, but with this girl he’d try.
“Hey,” he said, “Did you wanna dance with me?”
