August 21st, 2015 Simon Dominic released the EP: ₩ & ONLY

Simon Dominic (사이먼 도미닉) born Jung Ki-Suk (정기석) on March 9th, 1984. He made his debut back in 2009 as a part of the hip-hop duo Supreme Team. His first solo album was released in 2011, and Supreme Team didn’t disband until 2013. In 2013 he left Amoeba Culture, and became co-CEO of Jay Park’s record label AOMG, due to this he took a 2 year break in releasing his own music. ₩ & ONLY his first EP and his first release under AOMG. ‘Simon Dominic’ achieved an All-Kill, reaching #1 on all major real-time music charts in South Korea.

Q: “Won-jae, when was the saddest time in your life?”

“Me? For me...” (Laughing)

“When I appeared on TV for the first time, I was excited, so I read all the comments in real-time. I was being honest about my depression [on the show SMTM6].”

“Is that wrong? Was that so wrong? I didn't want to become a star. I just wanted them to listen to me from the perspective of a person on an equal footing. I thought, ‘Did I do something so wrong?’ ”

“Later, when people saw me laughing on a show like this [referring to the current interview as an example]”

“They'd say, ‘I knew it. He's fine. He was pretending.’ ”

“Those things [comments/criticisms]...gave me a hard time. [So] whenever I was on TV, I'd say, ‘I got well after joining AOMG...I've been cured.’ ”

“I used to say that. But I only said those things because I was afraid of the criticism. I was scared to hear those comments. I thought I'd rather lie than get criticized.”

“I had that kind of mindset, then I changed it a little bit. ‘Oh, then I should really become happy.’ ”

“I'd wake up early in the morning and work out. I'd do the same things that my colleagues do. And I felt so much better. Being a radio DJ helps a lot.”

“Because I learn that it doesn't only happen to me. That everyone in the world goes through the same thing. Now I know. Now I know that I was making myself sad.”

- “When I saw rappers appearing on ‘SMTM,’ I thought the so-called ‘system’ had more disadvantages than advantages. As a fan. However, without ‘SMTM,’ Won-jae wouldn't be here. So I'm thankful to ‘SMTM.’ ”
