ATEEZ PLAYLIST; RECCOMENDATIONS

[ATEEZ UPLOADED A NEW VIDEO]

ARTIST REFLECTION
제이홉 (J-Hope) - Blue Side
Having an anxious nature it was not unexpected that attending high school in the midst of training would be stress inducing for the young girl, so once the rapper finished the song the file was sent to her in hopes that the calming melody would make morning walks to the establishment less dreadful. The picture chosen as a background was actually taken by him on a day he was brought along by her older brother to pick the trainee up, which had become somewhat of a routine for them on rest days.
종현 (Jonghyun) - Moon
This song had been part of her life since it was released as it rapidly became her favorite, often being used for vocal practice or simply played through headphones at night while looking out of the dorm balcony in order to distract herself from thoughts that would turn into nightmares in the deepest of sleeps. It holds such significance to her that she has been thinking about making a cover, yet keeps recording it until it truly honors the original which means it will likely never be released.
세븐틴 (Seventeen) - 우리의 새은 낮보다 뜨겁다 (Our dawn is hotter than day)
At the time when she was still unwell mentally the members went on a camping trip together in order to give everyone a break from the hard work they had been putting into the preparation of their comeback and this song just so happened to play while they sat around the campfire. Wooyoung was the first to start singing, followed closely by the rest of the group, turning an already relaxing night into one of laughter and since then, this song has been tied to one of the warmest memories of their friendship.
수호 (Suho) ft 장재인 (Jane Jang) - Dinner
While the track talks about the loss of love between two people it was playing during the couple's first anniversary date which later ended with the two dancing around and singing, leading the rapper to fall in love with her voice once more. When she performed it on I.M ON THE BEAT people were surprised at how perfectly this fit her voice due to hearing rougher vocals in group songs, showing audiences the more delicate side of herself. In a sense this symbolized the transition from the darker part of her life into a happier mindset as she has a habit of humming this song when painting, which she had stopped doing at the time.

뭔 스파이더맨 같은 능력 받은줄 알았구만 작업장갑 이었쓰 .. ㅡ ㅡ ;;

🎤 xportsnews: [단독] B.A.P 의리로 뭉친다…정대현, 문종업 소속사行 [Exclusive] B.A.P unites in loyalty... Jung Daehyun, Moon Jongup's agency
Daehyun has signed a contract with M.A Entertainment, meaning Daehyun and Jongup are now under the same company! Congratulations to Daehyun! 💚

A bear is cute
귀엽다 (cute) is an irregular adjective in Korean language.
Using -아요/어요 form, "ㅂ" disappears and "우" is added instead.
First, we drop -다, then:
귀여 + 우 -------> "우" we always connect with -어요
귀여 + 우 + -어요 ------> 귀여워요
(the last syllable in stem of the verb/adjective if has a vowel 아 or 오, we use -아요 form and in other cases we use -어요)
We have so many irregular adjectives/verbs with "ㅂ".
Here's some examples:
무섭다 - to be scary
가볍다 - to be light (weight of an object)
무겁다 - to be heavy (weight of an object)
덥다 - to be hot (weather)
춥다 - to be cold (weather)
차갑다 - to be cold (describing an object that is cold when touched)
뜨겁다 - to be hot (describing an object that is hot when touched)
**Besides that, we have to be wary of:
the verb 돕다 (to help someone) and adjective 곱다 (to be pretty)
They are irregular as well but it is conjugated differently.
Instead of adding "우", we add "오":
돕다 ------> we drop -다, and we add 오 ("오" connects with -아요)
도 + 오 + -아요 -------> 도와요
But be careful, not every verb/adjective that has "ㅂ" in a stem, conjugates irregularly. Check it out:
좁다 - to be narrow (좁아요) 조워요
입다 - to dress (입어요) 이워요
잡다 - to catch (잡아요) 자워요

Lyrics & Grammar
사랑이 뭐가 뭔지 A to Z 아직도 몰라 / 그냥 너에게 빠져있고 싶어 / (Yai-yai-ya) / 너를 향해 마냥 조르고 싶은 맘
I still don’t know what love is from A to Z / I just want to fall for you / Yai-yai-ya / My heart wants to bother you forever
[pronoun] + ㄴ/은/는지
Adding -ㄴ/은/는지 to a question word like 뭐, 누구, 어디, etc. allows you to say things like, as in this song, “I still don’t know what love is.” Likewise, you could say something like 그 사람은 누군지 몰라요 (I don’t know who that person is) or 화장실이 어딘지 아세요? (Do you know where the bathroom is?). This structure can be used with verbs other than 알다 and 모르다 as well.
마냥
마냥 has a few possible meanings. In this context, it means “forever.” Other times, it can add the meaning of doing something to the extreme.
[verb] + 고 싶다
This structure means “to want to [verb].” 조르고 싶다 means “to want to bother.”
[adjective stem] + ㄴ/은 + [noun]
This is how you use adjectives to modify nouns. In other words, you would attach -ㄴ/은 to an adjective stem if you wanted to use that adjective to describe the noun.
Although “to want” is a verb in English, 싶다 functions as an adjective in Korean. So, 조르고 싶은 맘 literally means “the heart that wants to bother you.”
니가 좋아 난 Cool / 일 분 일 초 내 생각은 전부 / 너로 가득 Baby I’m full / 점점 뜨겁고 / 점점 못 말려 / 점점 다가가 / 심장이 뛰어 Cool / Woo 어떡해 나 Cool / 이런 내 맘 / Woo / 먼저 고백할래
I like you, cool / One minute, one second, all my thoughts are of you / I’m filled with you, baby I’m full / More and more I get hot / More and more I can’t be stopped / More and more I approach you / My heart races, cool / Woo, what do I do, cool / My heart is like this / Woo / I want to confess first
점점
점점 means “more and more” or “gradually.” As shown above, it’s typically put before adjectives to express that something is becoming more that adjective.
[verb] + ㄹ/을래
This is another way to say “I want to [verb].” I think that this differs from -고 싶다 in that it implies that you have a strong intention to actually do the action, rather than just wanting to do it.
Oh boy 매일 눈 뜬 순간부터 / 바로 생각난 너란 사람 My boy / 넌 언제부터 내 맘 속에 들어왔니 Uh / (Hey you) / 차가웠던 내가 더워져 Wow
Oh boy, from the moment I opened my eyes / The person I instantly think of is you / Since when did you come inside my heart? Uh / Hey you / The cold me became hot, wow
[noun] + 부터
This means “from [noun].” It is usually attached to points in time. 눈 뜬 순간부터, for example, means “from the moment I opened my eyes” -- that moment is the point in time in which something began. 언제부터, similarly, means “since when.”
[noun stem] + (이)란
-(이)란 is similar to the topic particle -ㄴ/은/는. It’s usually used when talking about the less literal meanings of nouns. You could say, for example, 사랑이란 어렵다 meaning “love is difficult.” This isn’t about the literal definition of love, but a deeper, perhaps more metaphorical one.
너란 사람 literally means “the person that is you.” Since they’re talking about a person they constantly think about, this is more poetic rather than literal if that makes sense!
[adjective stem] + 았/었/였던 + [noun]
This is how you modify nouns in the past tense. Literally, 차가웠던 내가 means “I who was cold.”
[adjective stem] + 아/어/여지다
This structure is used to express that something increasingly becomes more of the adjective. For example, 덥다 means “to be hot,” while 더워지다 means “to get hot.” 차가웠던 내가 더워져 means “I who was cold is getting hot.”
이런 내 맘이 Cool (Woo) / 그저 그저 내 맘이 가는 곳 / 니가 있는 난 거기에 (거기에) / 점점 가까이 / 점점 내 곁에 (No no no) / 점점 다가가 / 심장이 뛰어 Cool / Woo 식혀줄래 Cool / 내가 먼저 / Woo (Oh yeah yeah) / 사랑한다 말해
My heart is cool like this (Woo) / Just the place that my heart is going / I’m there where you are / Closer and closer / More and more beside me / More and more I approach you / My heart races, cool / Woo, will you cool it off? / I’ll tell you first / Woo (Oh yeah yeah) / That I love you
[verb] + 는 + [noun]
This is how you use verbs to modify nouns in the present tense. 내 맘이 가는 곳 means “the place that my heart goes to.” The verb, 가다 (to go), describes the noun, 곳.
[verb] + ㄴ/는다고 말하다
This structure allows you to quote something. 사랑해요, for example, means “I love you,” so 사랑한다고 말하다 means “to say ‘I love you.’“
Since this structure implies quotation, you could just use 하다 on the end rather than 말하다. Other verbs that are useful for this structure are 듣다 (to hear/listen), 생각하다 (to think), and 그렇다 (to be so (similar to 말하다 when used with this structure though)). The -고 from -ㄴ/는다고 can be dropped as well, as in this song.
That’s about it for this breakdown--I hope it was helpful! Feel free to request any other song you’d like to see broken down! Thank you for the request and for your patience! 화이팅!
