I have this little head cannon that Octo!König loves baths. Like hybrid form or not. Like, you run him a bath, and he's in a silly/goofy mood? He's in his hybrid form swimming laps around the tub as you record and giggle at him. If he's not feeling as silly? He'll request you get in the bath with him. It depends on his mood whether or not he's in his hybrid form. If reader is also an octopus hybrid? He convinces you to get in the tub with him in your hybrid forms and just goof around in the water. Man loves when there are bubbles too. Think he was in a silly mood before? Add bubbles, and it's like a kid in a candy store.

Taking a bath together is a process. You learned after the first time to layer towels across the whole bathroom. He splashes so much water around that it’s practically flooding the bathroom. I’d probably never write reader as an octopus hybrid too simply because while I try to keep descriptions of reader neutral I do seem them as afab which means if they were an octo hybrid, they’d die after having a kid and König just wouldn’t be having that. He doesn’t want anything to take reader from him, especially not something he can’t protect them from.

Minireviews of the Bluey Minisodes

Hello everyone! Here's another one of those rare text posts from me.

As most of you may know, I'm a Bluey fan. And as all Bluey fans know, today a new batch of Bluey shorts premiered on Disney+, also known as Minisodes (or previously "Bonus Bits").

And while most fans had likely already watched these minisodes, given how they came out nearly a month before in Australia, I myself chose to wait until they were available on Disney+ to watch them, in order to save myself the hassle of looking for them online. Call me lazy if you want, but I often find it trickier than it sounds like. 😅 Especially considering how quickly those tend to get taken down.

But I digress. I was going to do this on Twitter originally, but I thought it'd be more fun and easier to express myself without a character limit here. So, since no one asked for my opinion, I'm going to give it anyways! xD

⚠️ Spoilers ahead, of course.

Here are my brief(-ish) thoughts on each of the new 7 shorts that were released.

🍔 Burger Dog

I have a soft spot for any Bluey short or episode that shows the characters dancing, particularly if they showcase new dancesteps that hadn't been shown before and that isn't flossing. I just find it really adorable and well-animated, so I enjoyed this one.

Maybe this is coming from the perspective of a non-parent, and if I ever have kids I'll have a totally different opinion, but I personally didn't find the song THAT annoying xD At least not for a first time listening to it. If it were the 15th time they'd had it on, I'd understand Bandit's position, but if it really was the first time he heard it, I would've at least let Bluey and Bingo finish the song if I were him. But again, that's just me, and it's not like what Bandit did was anything too terrible, nor am I mad at him for it. Just giving my opinion here. 😅

Oh, and the ending made me chuckle. Clever girl, Bingo. 😉😂

🤖 Bingo 3000

Not really much to say about this one, other than it was cute xD It reminded me a lot of "Daddy Robot", but with the roles reversed. Honestly, the final scene of Chili calling Bingo 3000 with her arriving super slowly because her legs are still stuck and Bandit's all "Don't get me started" was my favorite part. 😝 Overall, it was fine.

🚚 Muffin Unboxing

DEFINITELY my favorite out of this batch xD Muffin may not be my favorite character, but she is definitely the most entertaining one, and I always love seeing her show up because you just KNOW some hilarious chaos is about to ensue. 🤣

What can I say? This minisode was classic Muffin from beginning to end. Her having a toy review channel just makes too much sense and I never knew I needed it until now xD Something else I loved about this one was seeing Stripe's poor video editing skills once again, with him leaving in parts of the recording that were definitely meant to remain on the cutting floor. 😂 Very "Bumpy and the Wise Old Wolfhound," which is amongst my favorite episodes, so you know I loved seeing it.

And of course, I can't stop mentioning and appreciating Socks, my favorite, getting a cute little cameo at the end, and getting at least one line! AAAH! She's always so cute, I love Rock-Socks, you do you babygirl :'3 (And the ending was hilarious of course xD Again, classic Muffin)

I want to petition Ludo Studio to make a "Muffin's Toys" shorts series where we see Muffin parodying various types of YouTube Kids videos. Like, imagine Muffin doing challenges or a DIY? I feel like we need that. At least I do. 😜

📄 Letter

I liked this one quite a lot as well. Always love seeing tidbits of the parents' childhoods. And even though this wasn't on the same levels as "Fairytale" or "Dragon" when it comes to flashbacks or revelations, it was still pretty sweet to watch.

Little Bandit's spellings made me chuckle xD I also weirdly like how it was revealed that he used to have a bird, mostly because it reminded me of a few pet birds my grandma had when I was little. I got a bit worried that Chris was going to get sad or offended about Bandit's comment on her cooking, but glad she took it with humor. 😜

I know Bandit never really liked his artstyle, but honestly, I find it kind of charming and cute. And pretty good for a five-year-old. 😉

🍴 Hungry

Another one that was just okay for me, personally. I mean, Bandit playing like this with the girls and making them laugh is always adorable to watch. And the dad jokes were strong with this one. A lot of people are probably not going to like the gross humor, but eh, it honestly doesn't bother me.

So yeah, this was classic Bandit. I think that's all I have to say. 😅

🐷 Three Pigs

Since "Cinderella" was one of my favorites of the original batch of Bonus Bits, I had high hopes for this one. And well, I won't say that I was disappointed, because I wasn't really. I just didn't enjoy it as much as "Cinderella", mostly because this one felt a LOT more fast-paced, and I was having a hard time keeping up with Bandit's story at one point. Mmmh, is the duration of this shorter than "Cinderella"? I'll have to check it out, but I don't think it is, which makes the fact that it felt so much more fast-paced kind of interesting. 😅 Maybe he just spoke more, I guess.

It was still pretty fun. Bandit naming two pigs after the girls was cute, and sending the other one away to make things easier for himself was really funny. 😝 I wish I had his improv skills, not gonna lie. 😅 As a little side-note, I'm a bit surprised Disney didn't change or omit the "It's against my religion" line.

But yeah. Didn't like it as much as I would've liked, but still a good time.

🍃 Animals

I think this might be my second favorite out of these new shorts. Keep in mind that I was raised by a single mother, so as much as I love Bandit, I'm always going to have a soft spot for episodes that focus on Chilli hanging out with the girls in some way. 🥹

I don't know, I just found the game really cute for some reason. 🧡 It's so simple, and pretty much just an excuse to tickle Bingo in different ways, but I like how creative they got for each animal's walk. And from a character design standpoint, it made a lot of sense to make Bingo's back a "field". Like, for some reason, that made me chuckle, I don't know xD These dogs are so cubical, it felt logical, LOL.

Chilli's games have always been lot more, well, chill than Bandit's xD But I've always been a calm kid, and once again, they remind me of things my own mom and I used to play, so they resonate with me. Despite the surprising ending, this minisode was just very sweet. 😊

Final thoughts:

Even though there wasn't really anything that extraordinary about these minisodes, one must keep in mind that they're not really meant to be compared to the regular Bluey episodes, which themselves have set a pretty high standard. These are just bite-sized, mostly slice-of-life little adventures to keep us interested in these characters in-between seasons. I've always been a lover of simple slice-of-life stories when characters I love are involved, and I love these characters a great deal, so I'll always like seeing them in any capacity, especially in official productions.

I do wish we could get a few shorts of other secondary characters such as Bluey's school friends, Bingo's school friends, the neighbors, or even Rad and Frisky. But I do think more of these are coming, especially considering that some of the stills that have been released as promos (such as Chilli measuring the girls or them arriving at Nana's house and Grandpa Bob being there) didn't appear in any of these. So I have no doubt we'll be getting more minisode batches soon, and hopefully, other characters will make appearances similarly to how they did in the first Bonus Bits.

Any Bluey content is always a win for me, so I'm happy we got these. 💙

🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER — what are three of your oc's favorite hobbies?

Hallie: answered here!

Molly: 1) stargazing... she always thought there was something really peaceful about lying on your back and seeing how the stars move through the sky bit by bit through the year. 2) card games. her poker face is unbeatable and she is ruthless. 3) hiking - it's kind of a joke in the area that if you're from Kvatch, of course you like hiking, because of the switchback up to the main city gate, but she always thought it was a good way to shut off thinking for a while and that the kind of tired it makes you is more rewarding than unpleasant

Kharish: aside from the obvious: 1) dancing! not alone though that's not as fun :( 2) does a little embroidery when she can, mostly to put little flowers all over her things 3) no one will ever find it but she's been writing a terrible heartfelt novel for like twenty years. it's never going to be finished and it's very earnestly overwrought in what hypothetical critics would call, appropriately, a love letter to the romance genre

🔱 TRIDENT EMBLEM — can your oc swim? do they enjoy swimming?

Hallie: can swim! VERY ESSENTIAL skill in Ma's opinion, so she learned pretty young. used to enjoy it, does not anymore. (<- points for no particular reason)

Molly: can get around in the water but not, like, elegantly. a seasoned swimmer would cringe at her form. doesn't really enjoy being wet but will tolerate it if necessary.

Kharish: did not encounter a body of water where one might learn to swim until embarking on the trip from Orsinium to Winterhold. does not know how to swim and does not particularly relish the idea of learning how in the Sea of Ghosts. would like it just fine if she did know how though!

🍔 HAMBURGER — is your oc good at cooking? are they good at baking? which one do they prefer?

Hallie: good at both! but she likes cooking better because there's more wiggle room to try different things or mess up a little bit without completely ruining the end result. too many ruined cookies :(

Molly: decent at cooking, doesn't have the patience for baking. she prefers baking if only because it always meant mostly getting to spend time helping someone else do the actual baking.

Kharish: a fair hand at either as long as she has instructions! would tell you she doesn't have a preference, but prefers cooking because flour getting everywhere is a little bit of a sensory nightmare.

💌 A Letter from Eunsoo.

It's already May. The weather is really nice these days. It still feels like spring, but I think summer will come really soon. It's hot during the day and chilly at night, so the daily temperature difference is quite large,so even if it's inconvenient. I recommend everyone to bring some outerwear! It's hard when you catch a cold...

How are you all doing? Are your mood and heart temperature okay?

I've finally gotten out of the swamp of midterm exams and assignments and can finally breathe a bit... Oh, can I have a TMI? I'm taking 20 credits this semester. Haha, it's amazing. Still, I'm having fun. I'm already in my 4th year, and I feel like I'm working harder than I have been since I was in 1st year. This time, I am taking several general education courses and am having new experiences by meeting a variety of people and learning knowledge in fields I did not know. Thanks to you, I am having a very busy daily life these days! Since the weather was nice, I thought of you all, so I stopped by.

When the weather is nice, I feel like my condition improves. When I fully feel the cool breeze and warm sunlight blowing in the clear blue sky, I feel comforted even without doing anything. So, I often deliberately go to places with sunlight, sit with my eyes closed, and photosynthesize. Then, my mood improves, distracting thoughts disappear for a while, and my mind becomes clearer! If you spend a lot of time indoors, don't forget to get some sunlight every once in a while. ☀️

What else should I talk about? I want to talk about all kinds of things, but when I start writing like this, I can't think of anything.

Anyway!! Be sure to get some sunlight, drink a lot of water, pack a coat, and be careful not to catch a cold. Ah!! That’s right, I bought a new film camera today. Haha.

It will be my first :manual: film camera, because up to now all of them have been automatic film cameras. My Konica friend, who I often used, used it too often, too much, and too harshly, and the results were creaky when taking pictures, so I decided to stop using it. So, I ended up buying a new manual film camera, which I had always been thinking about. I don't even know how to use it yet, but I'm going to try various things and capture my daily life and life once again.

If I have any good photos, I'll be sure to share them with you like I do now 🤍

Thank you for the ask! I loved getting a chance to think about them, they're not as fleshed out as they could be so this really helped me solidify some stuff about these OCs.

💍 RING — does your oc have any piercings? do they want any (more) piercings?

Eliza has her ears pierced, she has two piercings in each earlobe. She doesn't have or want any other piercings. Ezra has one earlobe piercing in his left ear, but nothing besides that currently. He had his nose pierced when he was younger, but he let it close up after one of the kids in his classroom at the time (he taught preschool) nearly pulled it out. It just wasn't a good idea working closely with unpredictable small children. Patrick doesn't have any piercings, and neither does Orlando nor do they want any.

🎶 MUSICAL NOTES — what type of music does your oc like? do they listen to music very often?

Patrick doesn't listen to music all that often, but when he does he favors instrumental music because he finds lyrics distracting most of the time. He likes a lot of contemporary classical and minimalist music, especially sparse, atmospheric piano, some soft jazz, lots of instrumental film scores, that kind of thing. Ezra likes a wide variety of music - he'll listen to everything from folk rock to metal to EDM to pop hits and everything in between. He's pretty much always got something playing, even if it's only in his head, and he often listens with noise-canceling headphones on at home since a lot of his favorites stress Patrick out a bit when he's trying to relax after work.

Eliza likes a lot of indie folk and pop, as well as a bunch of singer-songwriters - she's really lyrically-focused. In general, she'd rather listen to softer, slower stuff than faster music but there are some exceptions. She also ends up listening to a lot of musical soundtracks and pop because her oldest daughter, Annaliese is really into both and Eliza is a great mom who supports what her children are into. Orlando listens to music pretty much all the time when he's working but not in a meeting or on a call, and he's not at all picky about what he listens to. He's probably more fond of rock than anything else, but he'll add pretty much anything and everything that's catchy and has a good beat to his Spotify playlist and usually just keeps his likes on shuffle. He actually loves musicals, and will be the first to start belting along with a song in the car while he's driving the kids to school.

🐶 DOG FACE — does your oc have any pets?

Ezra and Patrick have an orange boy kitty (with exactly one brain cell) named Charlie and a rabbit named Cocoa that their youngest daughter, Finley, loves more than life itself. He's a family pet because she's only six and way too young to take on full responsibility for any animal, but she'd been begging for a bunny for years.

Orlando and Eliza have two dogs - a husky named Fiona and a golden retriever puppy named Delilah.

🎄 CHRISTMAS TREE — what is your oc's favorite holiday?

Orlando is a total Christmas fanatic. He just loves the entire experience - the food, the music, snowy weather up at their estate, putting up lights, shopping for presents, making gingerbread houses with the kids, decorating trees, just... making it an amazing experience for the whole family. He has the best time playing "Santa" for all of the Calloway kids (but especially his own) and goes all out. Glitter everywhere (that he promises his wife he will be responsible for cleaning up because she hates the stuff), boot prints in the house, "reindeer" tracks out in the snow on the lawn, elaborately wrapped gifts, letters from Santa... the man has no chill about Christmas and everyone in the family loves him for it.

Eliza's a New Year's Eve kind of girl. She looks forward to it all year, but especially after the stress of the winter holiday season. It's always such a busy time at work, then there's just so many family events and so much to do to make everything special for all of the kids in the family. She loves all of the family stuff, but by the end of December she's starting to feel a little bit burned out and is desperately craving some quality time just for her and her husband. Orlando always goes all out for them for NYE - they spend the night in the city at a really fancy hotel, go out for dinner at Eliza's favorite restaurant, they both get all dressed up and just bask in each other's company.

Patrick really loves Thanksgiving. He didn't have great holiday experiences growing up as a kid (his parents are... difficult and have always been super image-oriented, everything was done for appearances rather than enjoyment) so he's still easing into them and building new, pleasant associations with Ezra and their kids. But he loves Thanksgiving food and all of the family time with less stress than Christmas so much.

Ezra's another Christmas lover and everything he loves about it revolves around his family. He loves creating traditions with his husband and kids (they have three - Evan, Alexandria and Finley) and getting to spend tons of quality time with them whether they're decorating the tree, baking and decorating Christmas cookies, going ice skating, picking out matching holiday PJs and curling up on the couch with hot cocoa and a sappy Christmas movie, going to New Islington's tree lighting ceremony or spending evenings out at the Christmas market. He just loves it all. It's also his favorite time of year at work because the preschool and daycare kids just get SO excited and are so cute about it. He spends a lot more time visiting classrooms during the holidays because he loves getting caught up in their excitement.

🍔 HAMBURGER — is your oc good at cooking? are they good at baking? which one do they prefer?

Orlando's a fantastic cook, but he almost never bakes. It's not one of his strengths, although he could handle following a basic cookie recipe or something with the kids if one of them wanted to spend the day baking with him. Although he and Eliza split that responsibility pretty evenly, he probably does a bit more of the cooking in their household (it's about 60% / 40% in his favor) and is always happy to take an extra turn if she's not feeling it. He just enjoys it a bit more than she does.

Eliza's a really good cook, but baking is her one true love and she's great at it. She's been baking bread since she was a teenager and was gifted some of her grandmother's sourdough starter, she does really fancy birthday cakes for everyone in the family and is constantly leveling up her skills learning new, complicated techniques and recipes. Most recently she perfected puff pastry. She'd much rather bake than cook, if you gave her the choice.

Patrick isn't really a huge fan of doing either, but he's become a very good cook (because Patrick becomes good at everything he does, he's persistent like that). He hasn't bothered with baking because he really doesn't enjoy it at all. Honestly though, if it were practical for his family, he'd hire a private chef to cook on all of his nights but he just doesn't hate doing it quite that much.

Ezra is a really good cook, and likes doing it. He really loves cooking with their kids and always tries to find ways to get them involved in an age-appropriate way. He's fine at baking if he sticks to the basics. It's not his favorite thing to do, but he's more than willing to whip up a batch of cookies or brownies with the kids if they want to bake or have requested them.

🍔 COOKING SOMETHING TOGETHER

Now, I think I’ve mentioned it before, but Yata does know the basics of cooking and he can make simple meals. However,  when he’s cooking with his s/o, he really does prefer for them to take the reins, happily playing sous chef for them if they want him to.

He’s honestly really quick and very precise in his knife handling skills. It just does come naturally to him, as it’s not something he’s spent a lot of time practicing or anything, but he’s able to make short work out of chopping up any vegetables or peeling potatoes or things like that.

Yata has a lot of trouble telling different spices apart, especially all the green ones that all look very much the same to him, so spices really do have to be labelled with big, clear lettering in their kitchen to prevent Yata from handing his partner the wrong spice and accidentally ruining whatever it was they were making.

Yata doesn’t mind helping out with the cooking, but most of the time he prefers for his partner to cook, while he’ll do the cleaning up after them. It’s more rare that they actually do cook the meals together.

And cooking the meals together is really when he’ll help them in the kitchen. He doesn’t mind cooking, can even enjoy it in the right situations, but I do think that Yata isn’t a fan of baking overall, finding it too finicky.

Axon hates her so much deadass she keeps trying to pull him into a Birdkind equiv of Tiktok and constantly argues with her online.

(Birdkind) The Halo of Red has a lot more officers I haven't talked about other than the big three (Arch, Parasol, Gilgamesh) and they kinda have their own gig with each other (mostly discourses). Most prominent of them is Brigadier General Roger (Bald Eagle) and Colonel Ohio (Shoebill) who are basically a platonic Florida Man and Ohio Man. You can imagine how that goes. They never get along but also the closest of bitches. Everything goes wrong with them godbless.

(Birdkind) Not yet mentioned on TH, but Formes and Tigor were actually close friends. Went to the same school and grew up in the same village. Formes has been invited onto the KRI Multatuli once (and Formes got so seasick he had to be speedboated back to land) before he eventually left the country to follow his wife. They both miss each other and honestly at this point it's like a closeted crush. They don't talk about THAT to anyone else they BOTH think it's embarrassing. So yes, they are the "dreams about them platonically" but more leaning to Might Actually Be Gay.

(Birdkind) Cooper has a girlfriend who later broke up with him because he bought NFTs. I wish I was joking.

he does 😔😔 jasper is an alcoholic. he also suffers from depression and is suicidal as all hell. most of it stems from the way he was raised by the family and, later, by alfie’s passing. he does try to get better and his friends and boyfriends help a lot, but it’s still really hard and he often relapses after messed up missions or fights with his partners. that is until arlo walks into his life and he gets his shit together!!

– jasper loves writing. and by that, i mean that he wishes he could write, but he’s not very good at it. he just has so much to say!! as mentioned in the next question, he loves literature and he wishes he could write down some things as well, even if it’s just a letter to his boyfriends or a funny story for arlo. – he doesn’t usually smoke, but he does when he’s really really stressed. he’s also a social smoker, but he doesn’t do it much, mostly bc it tastes bad and his boyfriends don’t wanna kiss him after he’s smoked. he mostly does it bc it looks sexy (i’m sorry it does i can’t change that) – jasper met bucky on a job to kill him, after the snap was reversed. that much is fine, but he only took the job because he hoped the winter soldier would kill him; the loss of his son was too much for him to bear and, after a failed suicide attempt, he started taking as many difficult jobs as possible so that one of them might leave him dead.

jasper is a big fan of literature somehow. i say somehow bc he sucked at it and also reads one book a year, but it was also one of the only subjects that didn’t revolve around death and whatnot (because, again, raised by the family, and that involved school life as well).

jasper comes from edinburgh, scotland. he hasn’t lived there in decades; when he was a child, the company his father worked for went bankrupt, so they all moved back to the united states, where jasper was mostly raised by his grandmother before the family took him. jasper feels nothing for his birthplace: the family made sure that he would have no ties to anything but them.

in jasper’s case, his friends are his family. sure, there’s The Family, aka the criminal organisation that took him as a young teenager, but there’s also his family, the one he built himself. he prioritizes that one over the one that raised him. the only exceptions are diaz, locke and ellis, his siblings in the family, who he also considers his actual family despite having cut ties with the criminal group.

💙 BLUE HEART — does your oc have any cool/special powers and/or abilities? how are they with magic, if it exists in their world?

jasper’s power. confuses me. solely bc i have reworked it sooo many times. initially it was supposed to be magical ink that made his tattoos into actual objects, but then it’d be p hard to tattoo an entire sniper rifle on his own back. so now what i’m thinking is he stole sm sorcerer sanctuary and it gave him his power, making him into a human bag of holding :3

🍡 Can your muse cook? Can they bake? How well can they do either? Do they have any kitchen disaster stories?

ayanna can cook well enough to survive. they’re definitely not a chef, but they can whip up something homey and good, and they bake a mean blueberry muffin. no kitchen disaster stories, purely by chance. marco is in fact, a gourmet chef. as soon as he graduated, he went straight into culinary school and worked to spend a summer abroad for an internship. he has experience in pastries, but he prefers not to work with them. culinary school came with many kitchen disasters, his most proud disaster being the time he set a towel on fire ( first strike ) and put it out with sugar instead of salt. his professor never let him live that one down. femi can cook and bake, comfort food is her favorite but she rarely finds herself with the time to do either. her mom started her cooking as soon as her motor skills were developed enough, so unless you count those first ( literal ) baby steps, there’s no disasters to be found with her.

🍔 - What kind of food does your muse usually eat? Do they have a favorite food, or favorite style of food? Do they have allergies? Are they vegan, vegetarian, etc.?

ayanna eats whatever is available, take out, left overs, quick meals that are easy to make. anything else requires excessive planning on her end, which she'd rather avoid. her favorite food is persian, specifically anything their baba makes. luckly they have no food allergies. they have no dietary restrictions. marco usually eats home cooked meals, some staples being pasta and homemade pizzas for the kids. his favorite food is all food, being that he loves to eat anything at least once. he has no food allergies or dietary restrictions. femi usually eats lots of fresh fruits and veggies, prioritizing a pescatarian lifestyle. if you ask her what her favorite food is, she'll tell you anything her mama makes. she's allergic to cashews, but no other nuts and has a dairy intolerance.

🧸 - Does your muse own any sentimental objects from their past? What makes it/them so special?

ayanna is not the sentimental type, despite how they come off. the only thing they could consider "from their past," is a quilt made by their ex that's simply "too soft to throw away." marco has a cigar box full of memories from his college years, containing of mostly movie and concert tickets, old photobooth strips, and letters written between old friends. femi has a necklace that her dad gave her when she was fourteen. while it likely has no real value, considering his methods for getting this necklace were likely questionable, it's one of her most valued pieces and she keeps it in the front of her jewelry box to this day.
