縫い針なんか忘れましょう。傷をふさぐのにはもっと良い方法があります。この講演ではTEDフェローのジョー・ランドリーナが自身の発明を披露しています。

圧迫せずに外傷性の出血を瞬時に止められる医療用ジェルです。注意、このビデオには現実に傷から血液が流れる医療映像が含まれています。

自分が戦場をかける兵士だと想像してください。脚を撃たれてしまい、大腿動脈が切れたとします。大量に出血し、ものの３分で絶命する危��があります。

たとえ、衛生兵が駆けつけてくれたとしても、彼らの持つ止血帯で圧迫して止血する方法だと血が止まるまでに５分以上かかるかもしれません。

これは、戦場でだけの問題ではなく、医療分野全体でよく直面する重要な問題です。傷を見て体に合った方法で、いかに素早く血を止めるか？

この４年間。私が取り組んできたのは、ハイテクな生体適合物質を開発し、体に働きかけて傷の自然な治癒を助けるということです。

そのことについて、説明する前に体がどう機能するのか、見てみましょう。体が細胞でできているのは、皆さんご存じですね。細胞は、生物を構成する最も基本的な要素ですが、それ以上のことを知っている人はあまりいません。

細胞というのは、細胞外マトリックス(ECM)と呼ばれる線維やタンパク質や糖からなる複雑な編み目の中に埋め込まれています。

細胞外マトリックス(ECM)は、細胞を支えて組織に構造を与えると同時に個々の細胞にとっての棲み家として、細胞が何をし、どこにいてどう振る舞うべきかを分かるようにしています。

細胞外マトリックス(ECM)は、体の部位ごとに異なっています。皮膚のECMは、肝臓のECMとは異なるし、同じ臓器の中でも場所によって細胞外マトリックス(ECM)は異なります。

そのため、細胞外マトリックス(ECM)と反応する医薬品を作るのは、とても難しく、それが私の取り組んでいることです。熱帯雨林を例に考えてみましょう。

森には、林冠があり、低木層があり、林床があります。森のそれぞれの部位は、異なる植物で構成され、異なる種類の動物が棲み家としています。それと同様に細胞外マトリックス(ECM)もまた、３次元的な多様性を持っています。

それに加え、細胞外マトリックス(ECM)は、あらゆる傷を治す役割を担っています。

体をどこか切った場合。この複雑な細胞外マトリックス(ECM)を再び形成する必要があります。傷痕というのは、お粗末に形成された細胞外マトリックス(ECM)なのです。今、映っているのは細胞外マトリックス(ECM)のアニメーションです。

複雑な編み目の中に細胞があり、組織中を移動していくとECMも変化します。現在商用化されている他の技術では、細胞外マトリックス(ECM)の２次元的な構造しか近似できないため、組織自体にうまく適合しないのです。

私はニューヨーク大学の１年のとき、ある植物由来の高分子物質を傷口につけるとその部分に同化することを発見しました。

ご覧の映像のように出血している傷口にこの物質を塗ると、レゴブロックのように体組織の中で即座に、再構成されるのです。つまり、肝臓に塗れば肝臓のようなものになり、皮膚に塗れば皮膚のようなものになるのです。

このジェルは、付けられた場所の体組織に編み込まれるのです。この技術には、非常に多くの応用がありますが、基本的なアイデアは、体のどこに付けようとも即座にその部位のようになるということです。

こういう新産業でイノベーションが起きるとゲーム理論でいうところのプラスサムになるから既存の産業との

戦争に発展しないため共存関係を構築できるメリットがあります。デフレスパイラルも予防できる？人間の限界を超えてることが前提だけど

しかし、独占禁止法を軽視してるわけではありませんので、既存産業の戦争を避けるため新産業だけの限定で限界を超えてください！

After the departure of the auteur art director Kimura Shinji backgrounds have lacked both in complexity as well as in originality. Even though I’m whining, Kekkai Sensen Beyond still is a good looking series - no doubt about it.
