Nobita and Gian ran against each other in an election to see who would become gakidaishou (leader of kids, oftentimes a bully). But after they tried to bribe and threaten their way into getting votes, almost everybody voted for Shizuka.

Another time Nobita and his friends had an election to see who would get to use the "President's Book" ("大統領の本"). First, Suneo and Nobita were elected as presidential nominees. Gian came in 3rd and Shizuka 4th. Dekisugi was the only one who didn't run.

Suneo lost support for being exposed for bribery, so Gian replaced him. Gian won after a photo surfaced of him carrying a child on his shoulders.

When he was elected, Gian confessed he actually made the child pick persimmons for him and was going to use the President's Book to make everybody do his chores. But before he was sworn in, Gian's mother took the book and told him she was the president of their household, so she became the "president".

…Okay, maybe a technical comment: I wasn't satisfied with how the official English version (for Kindle) translated these lines, so I came up with a custom translation that I hope captures the spirit and meaning of the original.

The original, for reference: そりゃあわたしだってこわいわよ。でも…このまま独裁者に負けちゃうなんて、あんまりみじめじゃない！やれるだけのことをやるしかないんだわ。

Reimagining of Nobita's Great Adventure into the Underworld for the "Shizuka is the main character of Doraemon" AU. It's interesting to consider how the Doraemon long stories/movies would play out in this AU, or whether they would even play out at all. One that I think would probably still happen is Great Adventure into the Underworld: given Shizuka's desire to become a magical girl in the short story "Shizuka the Friendly Witch", she probably would be interested in experiencing a world where she could perform real magic.

A detail I added here is Shizuka deciding to carry a wand for The Aesthetic even though wands aren't necessary for casting magic in this universe, inspired by her insistence on riding a broomstick (instead of flying by other means) in "Shizuka the Friendly Witch". It also parallels Doraemon being adamant about wearing the "Magic Hat" both here and in the original work, despite it having no practical purpose. Unlike Nobita, Shizuka probably would be able to master basic spells pretty quickly, but she wouldn't have much time to learn more complex magic before receiving the call to adventure, so I can see her having to apply simple spells in creative ways to solve some of the problems she encounters. (Bonus points if she finds a practical use for that wand!)

Although Nobita's Great Adventure into the Underworld is one of my favorite Doraemon movies in terms of its story and atmosphere, it is unfortunately also one of the worst in its treatment of Shizuka, so it was a logical first choice to adapt for this AU.

���重県紀北町・奥川ファームから隔週に届く定期便、畑無農薬野菜・平飼い有精卵・特別栽培玄米・手打十割そば・地鶏、そして近頃は手作りパンがレギュラーメンバーに加わった。スナップエンドウにキヌサヤ、緑が一段と鮮やかになって、私が一番好きな山嗤う季節の到来だ。今週も安全安心美味な食材で家族の食事を楽しもう、奥川さん、いつもありがとうございます。

5時30分起床。

朝食、洗濯。

奥川ファームの定期便が届く、早速処理を開始する。

ホウレン草は湯がいてから冷凍庫に小分けして保存する。

スナップエンドウは夕飯と弁当用に茹でる。

スペシャルで同梱されていた鰹の半身を生姜煮にし、鯵をオーブンで塩焼きにする。

早めにランチを済ませ、谷町九丁目の大倫寺を目ざす、今日は露の紫さんの勉強会だ。

前回この場所に来たのは2014年1月のこと、露の新治さんの会だったが、その時も紫さんが前座で出ておられたのはやはり縁と言うべきだろう。3人の演者で中入りはさんで4席、無理の無い番組である。レポートは面倒なので、Instagramの速報版をご覧頂きたい。

いつも通り、きりの阪急桂駅で惣菜を購入して帰宅、早速夕飯準備。

息子たちにはスパークリングワイン、私たちは日本酒の残りを一口いただいてからフランスの赤をいただく。

笑福亭松喬さんの落語「泥棒と若殿」をお送りします（令和５年３月９日（木）ＮＨＫ大阪ホール収録）【あらすじ】家来の謀反により命を狙われている若殿。ひとりで家に隠れていると、泥棒がやってきた。しかし気のいい泥棒は、若殿の身の回りの世話をする。ある日、泥棒が身の上話を始めた。「自分の生き方が間違っていた」と思った若殿は、泥棒と生きていこうとするが、迎えの者がやってくる。若殿は帰らぬと伝えるが…。

小雨の中を、軽く腹ごなしのウォーキング。

日誌書き上げたら、とっとと布団に入ろう。
