if  there  was  a  one  for  beckham  in  this  world  ,  it's  them  ,  even  he's  convinced  of  this  .  despite  this  he's  always  refused  to  settle  down  and  in  turn  they  have  a  bit  of  an  on  -  again  -  off  -  again  going  for  them  .  anytime  they  try  to  move  on  from  him  ,  he's  somehow  managed  to  ruin  their  new  attempt  at  a  relationship  .  he  refuses  to  see  them  with  anyone  else  ,  while  also  refusing  to  give  them  the  security  they  need  .        

saturday  night  ,  cause  they'll  only  know  what  you  let  them  see  and  all  the  things  that  i  know  ,  that  your  parents  don't  ,  they  don't  care  like  i  do  ,  nowhere  like  i  do  .  

beckham  doesn't  have  a  soft  spot  ,  he'll  claim  that  until  he's  blue  in  the  face  .  truth  is  this  person  is  that  soft  spot  for  him  .  he  tries  his  best  to  look  out  for  them  :  taking  them  under  his  wing  in  many  ways  .  even  with  how  much  he  does  care  about  them  ,  it  manifests  in  a  rather  toxic  way  ,  where  they've  become  a  bit  dependent  on  his  attention  and  help  and  beckham  thrives  off  being  needed  by  someone  .  

 billie  jean  ,  and  mother  always  told  me  '  be  careful  who  you  love  and  be  careful  what  you  do  because  the  lie  becomes  the  truth  '  .  billie  jean  is  not  my  lover  ,  she's  just  a  girl  who  claims  that  i  am  the  one  but  the  kid  is  not  my  son  .

everyone  deserves  a  fun  little  paternity  scandal  .  could  be  from  the  past  or  an  upcoming  plotline  but  i'd  love  for  someone  who  claimed  beckham  fathered  their  child  .  a  big  public  scandal  ,  she  fabricates  some  story  maybe  because  they  had  a  thing  in  the  past  and  he  hurt  her  feelings  or  for  whatever  other  reason  you  could  think  of  .  bottom  line  is  he's  not  the  father  .                

heathens  ,  you'll  never  know  the  pyschopath  sitting  next  to  you  ,  you'll  never  know  the  murderer  sitting  next  to  you  ,  you'll  think  '  how  did  i  get  here  ,  sitting  next  to  you  ?  '  but  after  all  i've  said  ,  please  don't  forget  ,  all  my  friends  are  heathens  ,  take  it  slow  .   

beckham  doesn't  hold  many  people  close  but  these  guys  are  like  family  to  him  .  just  a  group  of  like  minded  guys  who  cause  a  ton  of  chaos  together  and  have  each  other's  back  throughout  it  all  .  likely  his  longest  lasting  friends  .

some  could  say  it  was  cruel  -  the  push  and  pull  between  them  ,  his  bad  intentions  from  the  start  ,  and  halfhearted  promises  .  beckham  would  atest  he  couldn't  be  held  at  fault  for  someone  else's  naivety  .  he  would  claim  they've  both  gotten  something  out  of  it  all  ,  in  their  own  ways  .  "  better  now  ,  "  free  hand  cupping  her  chin  as  blue  eyes  take  her  in  .  waverly  lockhart  was  beautiful  ,  that  much  he'd  never  take  away  from  her  .  hand  falling  back  to  his  side  ,  a  grin  with  a  nearly  threatening  undertone  to  it  surfacing  .  "  how  have  you  been  ,  babe  ?  staying  out  of  trouble  ,  i  hope  ,  "  his  words  coming  out  smooth  ,  attention  only  intently  on  her  when  it  suits  him  ,  much  like  it  does  right  now  .

look  of  amusement  ,  followed  by  a  shrug  .  he  couldn't  care less  what  people  thought  ,  truth  be  told  .  thriving  off  the  looks  of  those  that  would  claim  he  was  chaos  personified  .  then  again  , he'd  somehow  managed  to  be  overwhelmingly liked  by  the  general  public  .  there  was  a  sense  of  hilarity  in  it  all  ,  really  .  even  with  kerris  there  was  an  underlying  rumbling  of  disaster  ,  one  of  many  things  that  kept  him  coming  back  .  that  and  the  fact  she  was  without  a  doubt  the  hottest  woman  on  this  side  of  the  equator  .  blue  eyes  catching  a  glimpse  of  the  way  brown  tresses  fall  over  her  shoulder  and  it's  in  that  moment  he'd  let  the  secret  they  shared  burn  to  the  ground  if  it  wasn't  for  the  very  much  so  spoken  threat  that  had  come  from  kerris  time  and  time  again  .  "  best  meal  of  the  week  ,  "  he  comments  ,  blue  eyes  taking  on  a  darker  hue  with  the  thoughts  running  rampant  in  his  head  .  he's  trouble  ,  he  knows  that  ,  but  if  there  was  one  thing  he'd  learned  throughout  their  years  of  friendship  it  was  that  she  liked  that  .  convinced  she  got  off  on  having  to  put  him  in  check  every  now  and  then  (  he  knew  he  did  )  .  "  make  it  four  ,  "  he  smirks  ,  knocking  the  rest  of  his  drink  back  before  setting  it  down  .  both  hands  in  his  pockets  now  as  he  starts  his  stride  away  from  her  ,  only  turning  around  for  a  split  second  ,  "  you  know  how  impatient  i  am  ,  "  no  good  look  etched  onto  his  features  as  he  turned  back  around  ,  distance  between  the  two  growing  before  he  seemingly  just  disappeared  from  the  party  entirely  .  

she smiles . ❛ can you blame them ? ❜ unlike the vast majority , she had never found beckhams uncontrollable nature too much for her . after years of knowing him she didn't kid herself into thinking he was one to be roped into acting right and instead allowed the man to run wild , only yelling at him when he got too close to a burning fire . it worked for their friendship and , despite her concerns , it worked for the benefits they had added to their friendship at the beginning of the year . most days she liked the glint in his eyes , she liked to push to see what it'd take for beckham van buren to snap . like now , when she should be enforcing stricter boundaries and instead decided to play along with his games . ❛ good enough to eat ? ❜ the words come out as she runs a hand through her hair , the movement causing it all to fall over one shoulder and exposing her neck as she batted her eyelashes at him . a hearty laugh coming out of glossed lips as she flickers her attention to the key dangling from his finger . the correct thing to do would be to ignore the suggestion , tell him to find another plaything for the night . instead she nods slowly , glancing around the event before she speaks . ❛ i'll meet you there in five ❜

“ She  should  tip  us ? “  Amusement  was  relevant  in  her  voice  as  she  glanced  over  at  one  of  her  oldest  friends  while  chopsticks  twirled  in  the  dish  absentmindedly .  “ Truthfully,  she  has  been  purposely  checking  you  out  this  entire  time .  Think  it’s  going  to  end  up  with  her  number  on  the  receipt ? ”  Used  to  this  behavior,  this  round  of  talks  between  all  the  men  in  her  life,  she  barely  batted  an  eyelash  at  it  all.  “ Hey ,  I’m  the  hot  one  in  our  friendship ,  Beck ,  don’t  you  start .  You  should  see  some  of  the  shoots  I’ve  done  recently  —  actually ,  please  don’t  look  at  them . ”  In  truth ,  all  her  words  were  spoken  in  jest  —  her  insecurities  around  herself  were  well  known  but  masked  around  all  those  in  her  life  for  their  own  protection .  “ If  you’re  gonna  ditch  me  for  mediocre  sex  you’re  paying  for  this  dinner . ”

leaning  in  ,  only  for  a  second  ,  "  i  think  they  already  say  that  ,  "  shrug  of  his  shoulders  as  he  reverts  back  to  his  own  bubble  .  sigh  coming  from  the  male  ,  content  for  the  split  second  .  tucking  free  hand  into  pants  pocket  ,  finding  solid  ground  on  the  side  of  her  .  was  he  conscious  enough  to  not  be  caught  eyeing  her  for  too  long  or  too  self  aware  of  his  own  lack  of  self  control  ?  probably  both  .  "  me  ?  not  having  fun  ?  "  playful  scoff  .  the  answer  was  no  ,  he  knew  kerris  of  all  people  knew  that  though  .  he  was  insatiable  . a  serious  problem  for  those  around  him  .  he'd  gone  through  life  convinced  that  was  simply  not  his  burden  to  bare  ,  a  silent  warning  whipping  through  the  air  at  the  start  of  just  about  every  interaction  with  him  .  "  you  look  far  too  good  to  be  this  bored  though  ,  "  brow  lifting  as  his  words  come  out  ,  bottom  lip  tucking  in  as  he  looks  her  way  .  cocky  smirk  he's  infamous  for  shot in her direction .  "  you  know  ,  "  he  starts ,  clearing  his  throat  as  he  glances  around  ,  "  this  place  has  alot  more  than  champagne  and  whatever  this  poor  mans  scotch  is  ,  "  tilting  nearly  empty  glass  in  his  hand  .  "  and  i  just  so  happen  to  have  the  key  ,  "  hand  in  his  pocket  finally  pulled  out  ,  liquor  room  key  dangling  off  his  index  finger  .  how  he  got  a  hold  of  the  key  ?  he'd  never  tell  .           

the look on her face was one of pure boredom , she didn't bother hiding it and wondered if having her attend this event was a good enough reason to fire her manager . didn't ten years in the industry give her the chance to politely bow out ? it should . they were lucky she liked dressing up and used these lame ass parties as an excuse to go shopping and debut a new dress . she felt good tonight , four champagne glasses in , and that only continued when beck landed in front of her with a hungry look in his eyes . she couldn't stop the smile , her lips arching on their own as she looked him over . ❛ they'd say you're insane , or that i'm insane , ❜ and she might be , considering she found herself glancing at his lips , entertaining the idea for a mere moment . beckham was dangerous . if she let him control their wave he'd find a way to drown them without meaning to , if she took control he knew just what buttons to press and result in a game over . ❛ not having enough fun beck ? ❜
