the mask representing a grey wolf was gifted to marianne by a fairy maid with a gentle smile. both the mask and the ornate solver and ebony gown held in the palm of her hands, the magus retreats to a quiet space in which only herself had occupied, donning the mask and gown before re-adjusting her silver jewelry- a sense of anonymity, yes? ... perhaps she'd choose a name for herself asides from "marianne".

meanwhile the grand duchess was given an ornate mask that almost resembled viy's face, a midnight blue gown gifted to her by another fairy maid. said maid offered to assist the caster in adjusting the ribbons and strings of the gown itself, it flowed almost like she had been her shadowy servant itself. her hair was tied back in a beautifully ornate, braided bun- pinned together with beautiful blue flowers, fresh out of the gardens of avalon.

as for atalanta... she donned a simple red mask, replacing her green-slit dress with something more... formal. a red and black dress that only reached right below her knees, her ears and tail hidden away by faerie magic to aid in her disguise. for once she looked completely human, hair braided back and decorated in a small handful of jewels.

for the masquerade; as it involves a sense of anonymity, the three participants will go by three different aliases!

- marianne will be going by "aranea"!

- anastasia will be going by "primrose"!

- atalanta will be going by "alcine"!

icy blue eyes blink in confusion as she sees... another anastasia. the grand duchess shuffles to the left, then to the right, only to see if this other girl would follow in her footsteps - looks like there’s no mirror after all.

“ well this is awkward... “

... she had a feeling that some of those drinks smelled funny. perhaps aranea made the right decision to cover her cup with her free hand whenever she’d speak with someone.
