people still doubting mox's quality and legacy in 2024 is literally crazy. he has more 5 star matches than anyone else in the shield. he's the youngest wwe grand slam champion in history. he carried two different companies in the last decade. he's the only person to ever win the wwe title, aew title and iwgp heavyweight title. he's probably more versatile an actor than any wrestler in the world. he has as much charisma and personality and aura as anyone without needing any silly gimmick or catchphrase or elaborate costume. he's the best promo of his generation. like what else does this man have to prove at this point.

Oooooh okay so basically I’ll start with that I think he’s gonna say tomorrow which is that a) he will continue full time until he drops the title (which he already did say in an interview when asked what happens if he won at Wembley, but he also said like, within reason lol) b) but that if he still holds the title by wrestledream that that may be his last fulltime show regardless.

See the second part is where I am iffy. Ever since he announced the winding down nearly a year ago I assumed he would stop full time by wrestledream because it would be in Washington again.

Part of me wonders if he still does that or if he goes longer. So let’s do it the wrestledream way. I think the promo tomorrow could immediately give us his first opponent in that Christian interrupts.

I think we begin with Bryan vs Christian at All Out and that pac Claudio and wheeler feud with the patriarchy before that (hopefully with Bryan on comm). I also think Nigel is gonna be none too thrilled with Christian and this feud.

I think he beats Christian at All Out (another final countdown usage too, TK said they got “a deal” for upcoming usages) because Christian cheated to beat him during their TNT title match and Bryan needs that win back

so then a few weeks later he’s got Darby at grand slam

(Id like to see a few matches in between all of these events too, like title eliminators or what not - let Bryan face people he hasn’t - give me Bryan vs OC and Kyle etc)

This is the one I’m not sure about bc I’ve seen people say triple threat at wrestledream between Bryan/Darby/swerve.

There’s also a title Tuesday right before wrestledream.

I haven’t fully decided what happens at grand slam. Maybe Bryan drops and it becomes Darby/swerve at wrestledream and Bryan/Nigel. I feel like we SHOULD run Bryan/Nigel before he finishes his full time run be we also don’t have to. Like it could also happen at final battle in December. Or even wrestle dynasty (altho I need Bryan/Zack run back too this year or I may perish)

So yeah my thoughts are still not complete but I do think he could drop it either before or at wrestledream. I maintain as I’ve said since the wind began blowing this way that swerve should get the belt back at wrestledream. It’s his hometown the entire thing seems highly intentional and the whole reason why Bryan would’ve let Tony twist his arm to do this.

(My ultimate ultimate booking fantasy is that tomorrow he flat out says that he wants Nigel as his opponent at wrestledream irregardless of anything but I also think we prob can’t do that bc we need to let Nigel be a little furious at first about the Christian stuff rather than give him what he wants on a platter)

I suspect we won't see Hook again until Grand Slam in NYC, as I (perhaps incorrectly) assume now that he's been soft benched after that pre-recorded promo spot. He was always going to be there anyway (Taz tweeted about it mid-August), but I think that'll be the next time he shows up, which is weird for someone who just got a belt back. Vamp and I kicked around the idea he'd been suspended, too, due to some weird language in Tony's answers, but we don't think he actually is. I do, however, think he was way more involved in all of this than anyone has let on, and is being sort of quietly kept away from things for awhile. I could be wrong, buuuuuut. I probably wouldn't get my hopes up for anything until then. Just my 2 cents!

The 90s hip hop/classic boy band sound of EXIST is all I’ve ever wanted from exo I am OBSESSED.

From the promos to the production it’s just so we’ll done. And it’s so impressive and lovely to see that they can slam out an ENTIRE album with falsetto in almost every chorus and it’s like— BUTTER. And not just falsetto. Difficult runs, complex syncopated beats, multiple different roles that line up to a grand reunion of voices that is SO hard to keep track of and tricky harmonies that would be so hard to maintain live!!!

From Mama where you can see them straining but still nailing it, to now years later being able to just easily carry those notes and that technique—AMAZING. I totally know they are trusted by their trainers not to break their voices.

Cream soda alone is so incredibly technically difficult. And the dingo video is just further proof of how much they’ve matured and mastered their craft.

I just love this album and it feels so well deserved and considered for such a multitalented group of guys :’)

"Like a wholes albums whats am yo hoing and things?" Skwisgaar scoffs. "Sounds dildoes."

"Weren't Vikings kinda like piratesch though?" Murderface asks.

"That's literally up to you and the crew of The Reve-"

"We did say noon," Stede smirks and takes in the grand hall of Mordhaus. "Do the clocks run slower here?"

Charles' eyelid twitches violently. "No. They'll be out shortly."

"Let me go get Pickles," Izzy trots off down the hall, strips off his shirt, walks into Pickles' room...

And the door promptly slams behind him.

"At least they closed the door this time," Charles sighs. "We have a buffet; can I offer-"

"It'll have to do for now."

He leaves the band and their utter irritation of a manager in the studio space, with a full table of food and drink.

His true mission lies in their bedrooms, refusing to get off their asses.

"Get up," he whips Skwisgaar's sheet and rolls him off his bed. "Now."

"Who ams this, actings like th-"

"I am not in the mood for smartass comments," Charles leans at his waist, down enough to almost topple himself in order to nearly meet Skwisgaar's face. It's horrifically uncomfortable, but it sends a message. "So shut it. Get up. Get dressed. Go downstairs and make some goddamn music."

Skwisgaar stares. "Could a quicks shower fits in there too?"

"I suppose, wh-oh. Um. Sorry," he blushes and stands upright fast enough to make himself dizzy. "I forgot you enjoy-"

"Ams alright. You ams...good at that. Shoulds maybe keep that on the backs burner, for retirements maybe."

The blush doesn't recede even as he continues on, shoving Murderface out of bed, pulling Toki from his model painting (at least he was awake), and Nathan from the couch he'd been napping on.

But that fits, considering his final stop.

"Sorry to interrupt," Charles peers delicately away as he opens the door to Pickles' room. "Um. They're waiting for you guys in the studio."

"Cool," Pickles grins, bouncing on Izzy's cock. "We'll be down soon. Hey, I gotta couple notes for new songs down there; Nathan knows where they are. They can start with those if they want."

"You've done all the work for us then," Izzy sits up enough to wrap him in a hug, stopping him for just a moment. "We need not go down at all in that case, hm?"

"You'll still need to learn the song," Charles says. "Practice it, even."

"Look who's got the music industry down to a science. I think I can do that and this at once," Izzy rolls his eyes. "We'll be down in a bit."

Charles leaves, shuts the door, and tries to ignore how hard he is.

He tried to have them all ready on time. He can say that at least.

"I just don't think we want a song that long though," Ed says. "Not right now."

"Plenty of other metal bands have done shorter, aggressive sounding prog stuff," Pickles scoffs. "I can list ten songs, all recent releases, right n-"

"I'm not trying to test you that shorter prog stuff does or doesn't exist; I'm just saying-"

"I'm not learning a riff this boring," Frenchie interjects. "I just won't, sorry."

"It ams borings?" Toki's lip wobbles.

"Be as means as you needs to be," Skwisgaar loudly whispers. "It ams goods for him to hears it!"

"Nah," Frenchie continues. "Not trying to be mean! It could use a little extra though, you know?"

He snags Toki by the arm, and they wind up off to the side, instruments in hand, reworking it.

"If I were writing it," Stede starts, then pauses. "What, Olu?"

"Man, all due respect, you don't write much music yet," Olu winces. "Kinda should...how do I say it?"

"Shush unless we ask for help," Jim pats Stede's back. "Anyway, what if we stop worrying about overdoing it, and lean into the wall of sound thing? We're already in agreement we're layering all of us together, so that's two drummers, four guitarists, two vocalists and our extra bunch of everything else-"

"I brought the fog horn in case we wanted it," Wee John lifts it up.

Nathan's eyes light up. "What happens if you blast that directly into a mic?"

"Let's find out."

Aggressive is one, expected word for it (it is a partially Dethklok production, after all.)

"The seagull shrieks work better than I expected," Charles nods. "Very metal."

"Where are the fish being jammed?" Stede frowns. "I don't have the lyric sheet and I couldn't quite-"

"In your personal sea locker," Nathan replies. "Like Davy Jones, but instead it's-"

"My asshole then, yeah. Cool! Scary, especially depending on the kind of fish!"

Nathan beams.

"This seems to be going well," Charles remarks. "Shall Stede and I head upstairs and get dinner ordered for you all, and maybe we could see about an EP being ready by tomorrow?"

"What, to be sold?" Stede scoffs. "How?"

He gently takes Stede's arm and leads him out of the studio and towards the kitchen. The bands are entertaining themselves (jamming or talking or making out on the one couch big enough for it, though Izzy and Pickles have occupied it the most thus far), and that means he can take the time to make things clear with Stede.

"Dethklok is a machine," he says as he jots down random junk food items as a food order for the bands. "Your band, The Revenge, is...more like a ship, yes?"

"Fits metaphorically with our genre."

Charles hands the order pad to the nearest chef, and pulls Stede onwards away from the kitchen doors, down an empty hall. "Machinery is what pulled us from the Age of Sail into the efficient shipping efforts used worldwide today-"

"Let your machine help speed us along with you?" Stede asks.

He presses him against the wall, a knee between Stede's legs. "Yes. If you'll have us."

"And this?" Stede smirks. "Ed did say you might, and that if I wanted, I could. But I think you should convince me more on why I should have you. Right here, right now."

"Yeah, they're fucking," Ed and Nathan say in one voice after a loud thud.

"Good for them," Lucius nods and jots down a few more notes on their latest song draft. "They were so fucking tense it was unbearable, wasn't it?"

"Enough to make any man horny," Buttons sighs.

"Are you suggesting..." Murderface hesitates, a hand already awkwardly hovering over the front of his shorts.

"Aye. Good for the creative juices-"

"Please not that word."

"Tis. Creates group spirit. Or doesn't, depends on the groups involved, but it's fun either way," Buttons continues. "They'll be busy for a bit as it is, and for those of us interested..."

Skwisgaar's shirt lands on top of his head.

"Left side of the craft table for fucking then, right side if ye want to keep working on the music."

Darby Allin vs. Jon Moxley (AEW Dynamite #260 - Grand Slam 2024)

Es hora de la guerra.

Cuando Jon Moxley amordazo al Campeon Mundial de AEW, Bryan Danielson, y lo dejo en una camilla inactivo por 2 semanas, provocando que toda la compañia le tenga miedo, fue cuando me di cuenta que este nuevo arco que se avecina para la empresa puede ser lo que necesitan varios luchadores para recuperar su fuego interno. Pocas veces en la historia el luchador mas importante de una compañia, aclamado por la fanaticada, respetado por sus pares y temido por sus enemigos ha tomado la decision de arremeter en contra de su propio hogar. Lo hemos visto con Jumbo Tsuruta, cuando formo su propio stable para contrarrestar el avance de la nueva generacion de All Japan Pro Wrestling, comandada por Mitsuharu Misawa. Lo hemos visto con Steve Austin, pero a menor medida y con un resultado mucho mas desastroso y aburrido. Lo hemos visto con Great Muta, aterrorizando a toda una escena y teniendo este aura de bestia invencible.

La similitud que vimos en todos estos casos no es la del luchador, si no la de su entorno y como se prepara para tal amenaza. ¿Como es que alguien como Misawa se prepara para la llegada de Tsuruta? ¿Como es que alguien como The Rock se prepara para la llegada de Austin? ¿Como es que alguien como Darby Allin se prepara para la llegada de Moxley y para la violencia que trae a la ecuacion? Porque encima no es como que estamos hablando de un luchador que no esta dispuesto a morir por defender su causa, si no de uno que ha tomado como insignia el luchar hasta la muerte. Es el unico luchador que podemos decir que tiene alguna chance de igualar a Mox en ese apartado: pero no atacando, si no aguantando, abrazando esa violencia que infringen en el. En lo que respecta al rol de Moxley en este combate, creo que nunca estuve tan emocionada por ver que es lo que hace, porque he esperado años que traiga esa naturaleza apatica y violenta a AEW. He esperado que traiga esa nula compasion por los demas, esa violencia indiscriminada que lo caracteriza por fuera de la compañia y ha tomado como slogan.

Es increible decirlo de esta manera, pero para la violencia que trae Mox a la mesa, el Blackpool Combat Club solo era una manera de devaluarlo. Y no porque el BCC tuvo una decaida, o bajo su consistencia, si no porque Jon estaba dispuesto a mucho mas de lo que hacian los demas. Creo que lo que mas me fascina de esta nueva era de Moxley es como sus promos y su accionar no es exagerado, si no psicotico y tortuoso para con su rival. El ritmo que maneja le da espacio a cada cosa que hace y la amplifica con certeza porque de eso se trata este tipo de combates. Esta es una lucha que vos sabes exactamente como va a ser, por el hecho de que Darby no esta preparado para Mox todavia. Y cuando su rival dice esto, no se refiere a una cuestion de si es el momento de Allin o no, si no algo mas filosofico. La pregunta que Mox trae a la mesa no es solo para Darby si no para la empresa como un conjunto: ¿Estan preparados para la guerra? ¿Estan dispuestos a usar la violencia como arma?

Por eso mismo me parece interesante tambien como han empujado a Private Party y Komander estos ultimos dias: luchadores que en si han sido tratados como una broma. La filosofia del BCC se mantiene viva con Moxley y su armada, por el hecho de que ellos estan dispuestos a dejar cicatrices en las personas que enfrentan: el ejemplo mas claro siendo el martillazo que le dieron a Isiah Kassidy. Ese nivel de desprecio de parte de una figura como Mox es una definicion enfermiza de "tough love" porque el plantea una revolucion dentro de la misma compañia, en donde el buscara a aquellos que puedan igualarlo o superarlo.

El mayor dilema de AEW ahora sera demostrar este crescendo en violencia en las luchas que vengan hasta WrestleDream, porque ahora estamos enfrente de un futuro incierto para los Private Party y Komanders. Si Moxley le gana a Danielson y se vuelve Campeon Mundial de AEW, a quien se le despertara ese fuego descontrolado para detener esta amenaza? ¿Quien sera capaz de abandonar toda moral y volverse una bestia sin control para ganar esta guerra?

Es posible que tengamos nuestra respuesta en frente de nuestros ojos.
