🌊 notes from aki : was writing this in a rush so i could post this before the new years. hope you all still enjoy it!! happy new year to everyone!!

Parties were never Chongyun’s thing. Crowded people plus the number of spicy hot chips made his yang energy go absolutely bonkers, he wasn't sure what got him into this situation, shuffling out of people’s way in Xinyan’s house as loud music boomed from the overhead speakers.

He blamed Xingqiu for this. To be frank, when is it not Xingqiu’s idea. The two were like the stereotypical extrovert and introvert duo, where the extrovert practically drags the other out of his warm cocoon in his room to socialize. What’s so fun about socializing anyway. You spend all your energy talking to people who probably won’t remember your name by the end of the night, and you have to figure out ways to keep the conversation going. Chongyun wished talking to people was as easy as talking with Xingqiu.

Xingqiu made talking easy. He doesn’t care if Chongyun stayed quiet, the boy could probably talk someone’s ear off if no one stopped him. There was always something Xingqiu was talking about, whether it be a paper Xingqiu was writing for school, or one of his father’s new trades from the Feiyun Commerce Guild. Chongyun loved the way Xingiu talked, it wasn’t overwhelming or forced, it sometimes feel like Xingqiu was telling a story, even if the story was as boring as trading silk or stock.

“I see you hiding, Yunyun.” Xingqiu came up to Chongyun’s side, handing him a plastic cup with some colorless liquid in it. “It’s not vodka, calm your yang. It’s water, I swear, I even put in some mint in it to help with the overheating.”

Chongyun smiled as he grabbed the cup, carefully tilting it as the liquid touched his lips, the cool sensation confirmed Xingqiu’s words with it actually being water. The water and the mint helped with the heat, and Chongyun no longer feels like he is the sun reincarnated, but the more pressing matter is how close Xingqiu is to him. 

From years of being best friends, being close physically is really no big deal, but to Chongyun it is a bigger deal than it should be. See, Chongyun has had this gigantic crush on his best friend since, well since he could really remember. He thought every best friend felt like that until he was talking to Xiangling, and she jumped up and squealed, shaking Chongyun’s shoulder like he was some sort of pinata. That was when he realized his feelings for Xingqiu most definitely were more than platonic.

Unfortunate for him, Xingqiu has always been popular and the most oblivious person Chongyun has ever known. There will be times Chongyun most definitely flirted with him (he did not, he told a joke and expected Xingqiu to take it as a flirt) but Xingqiu didn’t seem to catch on, and Chongyun is convinced everyone at school is also in love with Xingqiu, cause who wouldn’t be?

“So, spill it.”

“Hm?”

“You got that thinking look again, I’ve known you long enough to know you have a thinking look. Even though you rarely think.” Xingqiu teased, poking Chongyun’s temple. “So spill it, let me in on the tea.”

“There is no tea.”

“Oh bull! You can’t fool me! I’m your best friend! Now spill before I force it out of you.”

“I told you! There is nothing to spill! I am not hiding anything!”

“Your face is red, and its the different red from when you’re overheating and you drank my water so you most definitely are NOT overheating, so must be blushing. Oh my god, is there a new girl? Is it Xiangling? Or Yanfei? I feel like you like those scholar-type people.”

Well, he got one thing right. Chongyun does like scholar-type people.

Chongyun playfully turned his head aside, pouting his lips which elicited a big whine from Xingqiu, who proceeded to tackle him by the waist with tickles, causing Chongyun to double over in laughter, trying to pry Xingqiu’s hands off of his ticklish spots.

“Count down in a minute!”

“A Qiu, stop! It tickles!” Chongyun giggled, both of them now on the floor with Xingqiu straddled on top of him with legs on either side of Chongyun’s hips, his hands frantically working their way on Chongyun’s ticklish waist.

“Tell me what you were thinking! Is it a girl? If it is I can just ask her number for you!”

“It’s not a girl!”

“Is it a boy? Or someone else? I mean I’m not discriminating anyone, you know I’m bi anyway!”

“A Qiu!”

“30 seconds folks!” Xinyan yelled from behind, the group had gathered around the balcony, Yanfei hooked up on FaceTime with Yoimiya who seems to be having a fantastic fireworks show going on back in Inazuma. 

“Just tell me!”

“It’s nothing!”

“If it’s nothing then why are you blushing!”

“Maybe it’s cause you’re so close to me!”

Chongyun was right. The two of them were incredibly close, their faces only inches apart and Chongyun could smell the faint scent of alcohol in Xingqiu’s breath (Chef Mao was there to supervise, so it was alright). Chongyun swore Xingqiu’s eyes had spirals or some sort of hypnosis magic in it, cause he could feel like he was drowning in his amber eyes. 

“10 seconds!’

His navy hair was brushing against Chongyun’s own forehead, it tickled.

“9 seconds!”

One of Xingqiu’s hands were on his waist, the other on the ground supporting his own body above Chongyun’s.

“8 seconds!”

Chongyun could count how many eyelashes Xingqiu has from his angle. He has a lot, but the point was they were very close.

“7 seconds!”

“I-I think you’re overheating Chongyun, do you want uh, a water?” Chongyun nodded but neither of them moved a muscle.

“6!”

“W-we are really close aren’t we.” Chongyun only seem to be able to nod.

“5!”

“Your lips are really dry, you should use chapstick more often.”

“4!”

Chongyun licked his lips, Xingqiu was right, they were very dry.

“3!”

“Can I kiss you?”

“2!”

“What?”

“1!” 

Before Chongyun could process his reply, Xingqiu’s lips were already on his. Neither of them moved, and Chongyun could only suck in a large breath. It’s really happening. His lips were soft, pressing against his own dry ones. Chongyun has dreamt of this exact moment more than he’d like to admit, and he is just surprised it is actually happening right now. Chongyun could smell the faint scent of books on him, probably from his clothes being stored wardrobe with his books. 

There weren’t much movement, it was the awkward teen kiss you could imagine in all those movies and teen fiction. There weren’t sparkles or butterflies, no electricity running through his body liked how Xingqiu told him (Xingqiu was practically a walking audiobook). Just his top lip safely secured between Xingqiu’s. Their noses were touching, and Chongyun was about to go into overheat from the heat radiating off Xingqiu.

They pulled away, panting slightly from the lack of breathing that just happened. 

“Why did you do that?” Chongyun asked, still panting slightly.

“I’ve been wanting to do that. And you were there so I just-”

“I’m glad you did it. I liked it.” Chongyun blushed. “We should do it again sometime.”

“Happy new year Yunyun.”

“Happy new year to you too, A Qiu.”

Aki Hayakawa:

You joined Public Safety a few years ago when meeting Makima-san who took note of your strong abilities with your devil. You were given a team straight away the four of you were really close, that was until a devil killed them all. Trying to leave the company, Makima-san convinced you to stay, letting you on another team that was sure to survive anything considering most of them were pure devils. Meeting the team, you weren't sure about it until you met the blue-haired boy, Aki Hayakawa, the leader of the team. It didn't take long for Aki to notice your strength and power, seeing how well you and your devil work together and within time he began to feel something more than the friendship both of you shared.

After the incident and the loss of Himeno, Aki made a promise to himself that he wasn't going to lose another person he cared about. He promised to you that he was going to protect you with everything he has, no matter the cost.

His favorite thing about you is your compassion and your strength. He can tell how much you care for things and will never get in the way of your dreams or passions. From time to time, he'll watch or help you train just to see how powerful you really are.He loves cooking for you and having you try certain meals he made for you, but everytime the other two somehow find a way to intrude and steal most of the food. He loves hearing you laugh after he chases them down thinking it's one of the cutest things he's ever heard in his life.

Rengoku:

You lived in a small village that was known for being peaceful until a demon arrived attacking the fellow villagers and using them for their own personal gain. That was till Rengoku came along slaying the demon and making your village safe once again. In return for his generosity, you took him out for some food and the rest is history between the two of you.

You both have a tendency to talk a lot about random things that catch your interest or things that you both enjoy and you two could keep a conversation for a long time without any distractions: Rengoku is big for being a character people can connect to and in a relationship I think he would be really affectionate and caring towards his partner. That is, if you're fine with him being touchy and affectionate,

Date nights with him aren't that frequent since he's usually busy with the demon corps, but when he does have time he takes you out. You usually go out to eat and have a blast with each other just keeping the other company.

Once Rengoku is fully whipped, he's introducing you to his family and having you get to know all of them, especially his father. Meeting his family wasn't hard and they all were supportive of your guy's relationship, but they all were persistent when the two of you were getting married.

His friends already knew of you from the amount of times the fire hashira brought you to his place, but none of them had ever talked with you. That was until the girls came over and dragged you off to have a night out together. After that moment, all of them fell in love with you and supported your relationship with Rengoku as well.

Kenma Kozume:

You two met in a video game late at night, you weren't able to sleep and relied on the comfort of your games. That was when you met Kenma Kozume, one of the greatest gamers of all. The two of you hit it off immediately and continued playing games together, until it was revealed that the two of you went to the same high school.

From that point forward, the two of you were close friends hanging out all the time playing games and just having a blast. But within time, the two of you grew feelings for the other and soon your relationship blossomed with Kuroo being your main supporter.

After losing a major game, Kenma can be upset and might want a break. That's when his clinginess kicks in and he's trying to figure out where you are so the two of you could snuggle. He understands though if you're not uncomfortable with affection and much would rather prefer doing something together to get the game off of his mind.

For most of his life, Kenma grew up talking very little and that was only to the people he had to talk to. The lack of talking made his listening skills grow making him very observant of certain things, especially if he's playing a game. You mention something that caught your eye at the store, it's instantly being delivered. You want to try a new restaurant, he's planning a date for the two of you already.

The both of you struggle with sleep so your guys' time is spent mostly playing video games with each other or watching some sort of movie that has come out. Your guys favorite game to play together is games that are soft and meant for multiple players, ex. animal crossing or minecraft. From time to time, Kuroo joins along on these little game dates and embarrass Kenma in front of you telling stories from when they were kids or stories about volleyball. He's then banned after that and never allowed on the server until you beg Kenma to let him back on.

who is galene ?

Galene is the personification and Goddess of Calm Seas.  She is the daughter of Nereus, the God of Bountiful Seas, and Doris, the Goddess of Brine Fishing. Thus, Galene is one of the fifty nymphs known collectively as The Nereids. Most notable of her many siblings is Amphitrite, the Goddess Queen of the Seas. 

In her former life, Galene attracted the attention of Polyphemus. The cyclops attempted to woo the Goddess, but she rejected his advances as her heart belonged to Akis, a mortal son of Pan. In a blinding rage, Polyphemus crushed Akis beneath a massive boulder.

Pitying the mortal and his bereaved Goddess, the Gods turned Akis into a minor Potamoi. His stream, the Akis, flowed down from the Mediterranean into the slops of Mount Etna near the town of Akion. 

who is diego ?

Diego Ostin Fuentes is a twenty-six year old tour guide and professional diver from Paraíso in the Dominican Republic. Growing up on the coasts of Hispaniola made the seas an integral part of Diego’s day to day life. From an early age he became an avid fan of freediving, a form of underwater diving that relies on breath-holding rather than the use of gear. 

Given that there wasn’t much of a profitable market for the niche sport in his hometown, Diego put his skills and radiant charisma to work entertaining the throngs of tourist that flocked to his home. He was hired as scuba diving guide, not only for his aptitude, but also due to the strange fact more ‘high ticket’ sea creatures tended to come out on his tours. Sea turtles and dolphins were his most common draws, but he once led a tour that featured a remarkably up-close-and-personal encounter with a migrating humpback whale.

In 2018, Diego decided to try his hand at an international diving competition. Hosted in the Bahamas, Diego booked the short flight and, much to everyone’s surprise, the first timer set the world record by diving, self propelled, 160 meter (524 feet) on a single breath. Following this massive moment in the freediving community, Diego became something of a very-specific celebrity. Four years later, he was invited to give a speech at the grand opening of a freediving school launching in Perth, Australia. 

After a few fun filled days down under, Diego kept hearing rumors that he needed to check out a shipwreck off the coast before heading back home. Eager for a new diving experience, he made his way to Poseidon’s Wrath. For reasons beyond his understanding, Diego couldn’t get enough for the remote island. Something, everything, seemed to be pulling him further and further into the clutches of the enchanting island. On the off chance they may have an opening, Diego stopped by Delphinus Tours and left with a job. Six months on and Diego has finally started to feel as though he has found his footing in his new home.

:: full power :: As a marine nymph, Galene’s primary home is beneath the waves. This provides her an amphibious biology able to exist as comfortably in the seas as on land. As a Nereid, Galene’s power includes an innate mastery of sea life in most forms, the main exceptions being mythical beasts such as Scylla. As the Goddess of Calm Seas, it goes without saying that Galene’s main function is to quell the raging seas. Unlike her nephew Triton who utilizes his conch horn, Galene executes her power through force of will alone. Even the most violent of naturally occurring tempest cannot withstand the might of her tranquility.

:: unlocked :: Diego has shown an affinity for holding his breath for record-breaking lengths of time and proved himself capable of withstanding the pressures of deep water diving sans gear. While not totally unmarred, his vision is far more clear underwater than a typical mortal should expect it to be. Though he cannot explain it, creatures of the deep tend to be far more willing to interact with him than they are most individuals.
