batman: so by splitting the work between former League members, Young Justice team, and current League members we were able to take down a good portion of the meta child trafficking ring and bring one of the leaders of the operation to justice.
wonder woman: but you lied in order to do that. do you feel bad that you had to lie. to do that.
batman (a vigilante): ,,? not. not really.

Another original idea that I’ve had for a while that I also love so much.
In my head, Clark received Gotham’s worst and shortest internet hate train in the minutes after he said “very much so” before Bruce replied “okay” and people realized that this random reporter was actually Bruce’s friend

" I'd say we make a pretty good team "
Tumblr media
"You think so?" Lara rose a brow, finding herself just as pleased by the statement as she was surprised. She had always been more adept when it came to working independently than collaboratively on things, after all, and while Lara could solve almost any conundrum, there would always be one puzzle only others held the last pieces to solving; loneliness. "Well I definitely would have struggled to get this all the way up here by myself so, thank you, I really appreciate the help" she smiled softly, lingering. "Did you...I could buy you dinner or something maybe? To thank you for your phenomenal teamwork?" she offered, trying not to cringe. Why did she always have to be so awkward?

continued from this with @xenophiliarp
She really was just the best, and he couldn't help but feel there being such a magnetism towards her. So yeah, Conner went along with her when she asked, a bit embarrassed with how quickly he'd agreed to be her companion for the time being.
Still nervous enough that he was eating, normally he could eat whatever he wanted and the energy was just stored inside of him much like sunlight was. So even without the sun, enough sustenance through food would keep him going at least for a little while. He realized his deep blue eyes were just focused on her like a deer in headlights, his mouth closed but stuffed with food. Which he swallowed, some of it not exactly being chewed enough to get down, but the muscles of his body said damn well otherwise.
"Thank you," it was obvious, the voice was identical, he even looked like a younger version of his genetic father. Without heeding any portion control, the entire glass of water went down his gullet after the food he'd been helping himself to. "Are you sure it's okay for us to be seen like this in public? I mean..."
Tumblr media
"I don't want to come between anything."
+++
Tumblr media
“Why not? We’re not doing anything inappropriate.” Lois knew that her growing attraction to someone who could be her own son was very wrong. Very, very wrong. And just because Connor could be Clark’s clone didn’t mean that was the reason why she was drawn to him. No, he was sweet and considerate and a complete gentleman, which were more important to her than anything else. She reminded herself that she was a mother figure in his life and that she shouldn’t try anything…taboo.
His caution did show her that he was worried about the same thing, and it made her smile a little. “Nothing to come between, really. You know your dad and I aren’t on good terms anymore, but it shouldn’t affect our relationship. I still care for you, Connor. I hope you still know that.”
Sensing some discomfort in him, at least through the fleeting expression he previously had, she reached for the glass of water to refill it in case he wanted or needed more. As she returned the glass to him, her fingertips accidentally brushed over his, and it made her gasp and send tiny jolts of warmth shooting up her hand and over the back of her palm. Lois quickly withdrew her hand and leaned back against her chair, now unable to look at him.

"stop hiding, clark, mrs. k said you're in he―" but when she climbs up to the barn, there is a very different form staring back at her. "oh." lois lets out, stopping at the top of the stairs. there's an awkward moment as she looks around, not even sure if she's hoping for clark to miraculously show up. she shakes her head slightly when she realizes how stupid this is. "i didn't know you were here. but since you are..." she takes a few steps forward, fidgeting her fingers. "... how the hell did you date clark? you're so..." she looks the other up and down, "much better than him. how did you put up with him?"

“I don’t need a literal sparkle, Clark. Just having you come home every night to me and the boys is enough,” Lois told him. “But thank you for it, still.” She didn’t bother to ask him how much it cost; not only would it be tacky, but it also wouldn’t matter to her. It could have been a necklace from an old box of Cracker Jack, and she would still love it. Seeing him unclasp the necklace, she pulled her hair to one side and turned around, so her back was facing him.
Tumblr media
Clark wrapped his arms around her waist and he pulled her closer. “I’m glad you do,” he whispered against her lips. “You work so hard, Lois. You deserve a little sparkle in your life.” He took the necklace from her and he gently unclasped it. “Let me put it on you,” he added.

"good. 'cause it'd be hard to explain a year-long absence without the full story." there's a slightly nervous laugh that escapes her lips but it has nothing to do with the situation she's signing up to (without fully knowing on what). lois grabs the folder and scans her eyes diagonally. highlighted words gives her enough information, a name pops up. "you have a guy deep in mambo number five?!" she asks with widened brown eyes and a low voice so no one in the diner can hear them. "i've been trying to get in for months." a pause once she understands what she's admitting to erin. a detective. "not like that. someone came to me with a story." and she'll leave it at that. she closes the papers and brings her hands closer to her. "i'll do it." the determination is clear in her voice. "but clark can't know." she was sure that'd be easy for erin. after all, undercover work meant discretion.
continued, for @lindscys

“Together,” she echoed, her worries lessening somewhat. A part of her – well, most of her – didn’t really think that conforming to society was important, but she also wanted to make sure that he felt the same way. Lois returned his smile and leaned over for another kiss, shorter but just as sweet as the others. “I love you.” A statement that she whispered again in case he was wondering if the last few minutes had really happened or not.
“So…should we continue?” She was referring to them going over the case files, but if he ended up taking it another way, she wouldn’t mind. They still had several papers to go through, and the last was a stack of photos that were most likely the crime scene photographs. Definitely graphic if they were, and Lois wasn’t keen on flipping through them for clues.
“Yeah,” Finnegan replied simply, a gentle smile spreading across his lips. Lois diverted her gaze, and for a brief few moments, Finnegan wondered why. His heart began to stammer, yet almost as soon as it had, Lois laughed and then leaned in to kiss him sweetly on the lips. Instantly, the anxieties rushing through Finnegan soothed. He smiled gently back at Lois and met her gaze.
“Good, I’m glad that’s the case,” he murmured, when she confessed that her feelings were as strong as his. The sentiment kept the smile on his features, even when she began talking about how exploring things personally might complicate things professionally. Finnegan nodded, though still smiled as he murmured “I know… but I also know we’ll work it out, together. We fix things all the time professionally. We can use that same energy personally.”

WIP WEDNESDAY GAME
Taken from @kedreeva.
It’s WIP Wednesday, time for a little accountability, sharing your work, and getting a kick in the pants.
Here’s how it works:
In a reblog of this post (so people can find you in the notes) or new thread (w/ rules attached) if you want to play on your own, post up to five (5) filenames of your WIPs; not titles, file names.
Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to play!
After you’ve posted, people can send you an ask with one of your file names. You must then write 3 sentences in that file. If the filename is one you can’t share from (for example, an event or gift fic), write 3 sentences on it anyway, and then 3 more on another to share.
That’s it! You can invite others to join in, or just post. I’ll be searching the reblogs to find people to send asks to!
If you’re reading this, you’re invited!
If you see someone posting a WIP Wednesday Game snippet, send them an ask! Make them write.
file names:
the one where Kon's soulmark isn't fake
feral Kon and liger pups
Krypton lives and Kara did not sign up for this
you're a real Katch, girl
Tim + clonecest
snippet from “the one where Kon's soulmark isn't fake”:
Anyway, then Steel catches them, so that's pretty helpful.
"Thanks, man," Superboy manages past the painful kryptonite-induced weakness and nausea, and Steel sets them both down all nice and neat on the sidewalk.
"Any time, kid," he says as he breaks the bolted-in kryptonite off Lois Lane's chest with an armored hand, then tears off into the sky with it, presumably to deal with a certain delusional idiot. Superboy figures he'll leave him to it and just make sure the pretty lady is okay, given the active involvement of kryptonite in the whole situation.
He looks at Lois Lane and opens his mouth to ask if she's alright, and she shrugs out of the broken straps that are all that's left of the bomb harness now that Steel's gotten at it.
The front of her blouse is torn right over her heart, and Superboy can see the bright blue swirl of her soulmark through the damage.
It really pops, he thinks distantly.
"You're staring, kid," Lois Lane says dubiously, putting a hand over her exposed mark, and Superboy jolts in mortification.
"Sorry!" he blurts, looking away quick. Well–now he knows who's on the other end of Superman's soulmark, he guesses. And it's not like it's a surprise who it is. A lot of people have suspected that Lois Lane and Superman are soulmates, after all, especially since he died and everyone found out he definitely had one.
Though the confirmation of that fact does kinda make Superboy wonder what's going on with Clark Kent, now. He thought he and Lois Lane were engaged or something. Or like–maybe they're married by now? He doesn't actually know. He doesn't, like, make a habit of keeping up on the relationship status of random Daily Planet reporters.
Although he guesses Lois Lane doesn't count as "random", considering.
"Sorry," he mutters again. "I won't, like–tell. Obviously. I mean it's not–like, obviously you'd be Superman's soulmate but I won't actually–"
"It's not Superman," Lois Lane says shortly, still covering her chest kind of . . . protectively, maybe? And Superboy . . . frowns.
"What?" he says.

Sorry, this may get a little salty, but I have a difficult question.
What do you think the single BEST thing about ML is, and what do you think the single WORST thing about it is?
For me, the best thing is the potential. Every single plot thread, lore idea, and character they introduce has a LOT to explore, even if those ideas are really poorly executed a lot of the time (more for us as fanfic readers and writers I guess). Like, even stuff that was added after the show kind of went to shit has potential if you do it right---the senti-plot, su-han and the order, Marinette never being able to trust anyone, etc.
The worst thing is the really weird morality of the story (see, the two 14 year old girls are iredeemable monsters but the fully grown child-abusing domestic terrorist is actually a hero because *checks notes* he has a girlfriend).
I agree that the potential here is one of ML's best qualities! So many good ideas! The general idea of the Hero Team, any combination of identity issues (from the Lovesquare to the "the villain is the Hero's dad and neither knows, to the Mari/Alya-Superman/Lois Lane dynamic, the Mari/Chloé-Spider-Man/Flash Thompson dynamic), the potential in the Kwami and their Lore and the Wish and the mysteries and even the Sentikids(I am a SUCKER for 'Artificial creation wonders if they're Alive™). All the characters and their personalities and story and designs are fun!
The morality is the second worst thing because the worst is just the whole. Changing their mind/poorly retconning things.
Like I do think saying that the abused teenager who literally doesn't know better is worse than the grown ass abusive father supervillain is Fucked™
But the idea of 'Chloé is just a dumb irredeemable brat who can't change' would be easier to stomach if they rolled with that narrative in the first place. Instead of showing that she's a kid who is acting out because of abuse/neglect/following her parents' orders/example, showing how she wants love and acceptance and will choose good when given the chance and cares about her friends and can be self-sacrificing and needed to be beaten down into joining the villains. If we got Season 5-era Chloé from day 1 instead of the version we saw the first three seasons, I'd find the way she's brushed off somewhat easier to stomach. (Still fucked™, but easier to see what they're going for.)
And it's not just the Chloé thing because this also applies to things like the Sentikids plot. If we saw Adrien as his season 5 doormat self who would have a breakdown over his dad being the villain originally instead of a rebellious kid fighting for his freedom and willing to fight his father if he turned out to be a villain, the more baffling stuff would be easier to handle.

Okay, so seeing your Zodiac polls made me realize something interesting: If there is one character who could be interesting without miraculous (minus Chloe and Lila, who already had clear roles (albeit shared ones)), it would be Alya.
Alya, with her setup, personality, and interest in being a reporter, could have been very easily set up to be a Lois Lane/Jim Gordan/Renee Montoya-type character. A civilian aid/ally who could help the cast with their public image and even aid in investigations and information gathering. Instead of trying to figure out the heroes' identities (which, given she's a major comic book nerd, you think she would know that would be a terrible idea), she could have helped try to figure out Hawkmoth's identity since it's pretty clear Ladybug and Chat Noir don't know how to do detective work. Heck, even with her blog, she could have used it as a way to fight Hawkmoth by raising mental health awareness and sharing mental health resources to combat his akumas. And given that she was planned to be sup[er tech in earlier versions, she could have become the Duo Oracle/Girl in the Chair, helping the heroes from behind the scenes in her own techy hacker way.
To add to it, it seems like it was late development that planned for Alya to be a hero. All I see of Alya concept art wise has her as Marinette's civilian friend, nothing of her being a hero. It also seems like Alya was a lot wealthier in earlier concept and had some interest in fashion. And of course, still very much a wingwoman.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At most, Alya was in the know, and it seems like it was pretty early on. Probably had the role of being the source of normalcy to Marinette's life, covered for her, and yeah probably helped in other ways.
Tumblr media
Over all, it does back that I think Alya is a solid character and has a lot of promise, though wasn't well executed. And she can work whether with a Miraculous or not. There's actually a lot of potential possible plot threads to do with her.

Conclusions so far from reading a bunch of articles and how I think I'll approach it:-
The Silencer #1-18 2018 is probably not necessary but worthwhile as it appears to contain a bunch of things about What Happened To Leviathan since it last popped up in Batman Incorporated 2012 and Grayson.
Nightwing #48-49 2016 is vaguely connected in terms of 'referencing story sloshing around'.
Action Comics #1001-1011 (proper lead in apparently starts #1007)
DC's Year of the Villain Special #1 (just the Leviathan story)
Superman: Leviathan Rising Special #1
At this point Event Leviathan starts (I don't see any reason not to follow CBRO for this one)
Lois Lane #6 apparently references the aftermath of Event Leviathan, so I'd probably just read Lois Lane 2019 immediately after reading Event Leviathan (though if you want the full period-effect I guess interleave issues with the event, reading Lois Lane #1 between issues #1 and #2 of Event Leviathan and so on)
Then it seems to roughly go:
Action Comics #1017-1021
This also ties in with the various arcs of Young Justice 2019 and I need to reread to work out where things slot in
Leviathan Dawn #1
Checkmate 2021
Also I need to consider:
Where does Naomi vol 1 fit into this (as it's clearly interacting with Action #1015-1016 but I believe it comes before this)
Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen is also in this time frame but I don't think it's directly linked?
I just realised for my Kate Spencer read I need to go back and start Green Arrow 2016 from at least #25 which enticingly tells me Dinah breaks up with Ollie so I'm all for it (I realise this will be for like 30 seconds but let me dream)
God I love comics.
Sometimes I open a character on the wiki to try and work out something and it’s like…oh. This is someone’s favourite character. There is an incredible in depth write up of their entire history, and you scroll down and it’s like…31 total appearances.
Anyway I’m trying to work out if I need to read The Silencer as a lead in for all the 2019 Leviathan nonsense I would otherwise avoid except Kate Spencer AND Lois Lane are both involved.
