That's brilliant! Dora the Explorer enjoyed immense success, and I bet stepping into a role already so intimately known by the public might have been both thrilling and somewhat intimidating for you. But I guess it's always worth it, whatever paved everything else that came afterward. You just took that confidence and ran with it, and lo and behold, here you are, playing parts as diverse as you are now. I mean, Superman and The Last of Us… That's some serious range, if I do say so. Do you ever look back at Dora and think, "Wow, that's where it all started?" That means a lot, babe. I just try to push myself with every project, not just for the audience, but for myself too. I think that's the best way to grow, don't you agree? You were trying to make me tear up all along, so, I had to do the same. That honestly means so much. It's been amazing to watch you build this for you! I've got no doubt there's still so much more ahead for both of us. That was surprising in a good kind of way. I'll have to listen to that voice of yours soon! Are you back at work already?

one role that really changed my life? that would have to be dora the explorer. i know it sounds funny, but it was my first leap into something massive, and it taught me so much about stepping into the spotlight and embracing a character that so many people already loved. plus, it gave me the confidence to take on bigger and bolder challenges, like superman and the last of us. speaking of pushing yourself, i see you doing that with every role you take on. you’re so versatile; it’s inspiring to see how you dive into your craft. and now you’re making me emotional! the admiration is mutual, trust me. you’ve already carved out such an impressive path, and i’m so excited to see what’s next for you. yes, singing! it’s been such a fun way to express myself outside of acting. and don’t you worry, there’s plenty of room for all the talent you bring too—you’re a powerhouse in your own right. i’m so glad you had a great holiday; it sounds like the perfect reset before jumping back into work. mine was lovely too, lots of time with family, some downtime, and a bit of sneaky prep for what’s coming next. i’ll be kicking things off in january as well.

esme is the middle child of the family, and follows the stereotype of being the forgotten child; her older sister is a figure skater and her younger brother plays hockey, which means that her non-sports related interest often took the backburner or went completely unnoticed

she didn’t have a lot of friends growing up, usually sticking to her studies while she sat at the ice rink during her siblings’ various practices; when she wasn’t at the rink, she was usually shut up in her room on the computer she’d convinced her parents to get her, and it was the one thing she had to herself
