This is a fun bit of consensual brainwashing, even if the tone isn't quite the way I tend to lean with brainwashing. The particular flavor of brainwashing in play leans just a little into what strikes me as humiliation (though obviously that's subjective), and I prefer to avoid that, personally. But even with that, it's just a hot story. If you like stories that lean into brainwashing and control and behavior modification, this is a good one for you. 9/10 spirals

Awww, romantic mind control is always so much fun. And this is so very romantic. Also plenty of heat, though it's a little too much "sex is the point" for my personal preferences. But seeing how our narrator melts into hypnosis, how aware of it he is and how well it works despite (or because of) that? it's right up my alley. There is a bit where a paragraph is mostly repeated a couple paragraphs later, and there's a reason that makes sense, but also it made me do a doubletake, and if you're the sort of person who's sensitive to stuff like that (and I know some folk are), be aware it does happen. 8/10 spirals

This one is interesting, but not quite ... it doesn't get me invested enough to suspend my disbelief. Maybe it's just 'cause art isn't my thing either - I agree with Michelle, a musical would have been better than this. But all the same, seeing the mental effects on Michelle as she examines the different paintings is good! I just can't see still visuals being *that* engaging, at least not to me. 7/10 spirals

I feel like a world in which Girls(tm) existed would be a world where the APA would have standards on using Girls(tm) in therapy. Unless the folk running the show at the APA (and other associations) got Girls(tm) pretty early... regardless. This is an interesting use of the Girls(tm) hypnosis skill, though ethically it's more than a little ... questionable. But hey, I assume the Girls(tm) do understand how pharmaceuticals work on humans, otherwise she wouldn't be talking about a prescription, I think? Even if it's the human psychologist who's officially writing the script.  It's a good story, just I get very distracted by the logistical concerns. 7/10 spirals

I recognize the story she was dreaming about! Even if she doesn't. And there's a fair bit to love in this story, though the serial recruitment twist at the end isn't my favourite. But if I ignore the last couple of paragraphs, it's a story I really can enjoy. Seeing someone so happy in their slavery that they can't imagine the end of The Silver Chair as a happy ending ... well, there's a number of hypnokinksters who I'm sure understand that approach. 9/10 spirals

I love Jukebox's superhero stories, and this one is no exception. Even if I'm over here being *extremely* ace and baffled by a sex dream being all that compelling, actually. Still, it's a lovely story, and I love how Madame Macabre manages to break out of Silas's power and save the day. 9/10 spirals

I do wonder what the ice cream would taste like (ideally without the mind control effects, as I'm quite happy with my life as it stands :P ) but mostly this story just doesn't hit any of the things I look for in an MC story. Huh. This is going ... somewhere. And I can't imagine it being a happy somewhere, either, but I suppose I just have to wait and see. Poor 4U, dealing with so many conflicting impulses, though. I do hope she gets some time to let her Master smooth those conflicting impulses and thoughts and believes out later - she sure needs it! Still, the plot remains the main draw of this series, and the sex portion is just kinda ... there. 7/10 spirals

FIRST JOB APPLICATION

As of today, 2 job posting na ang inapplyan ko since I woke up carrying the pressure na ayoko na hawakan ang business namin at mag start na mag trabaho on my own.

The company is a recruitment and manpower agency. May job opening sila na nakita ko sa PESO Facebook Page. I sent them the email including my resume. It was around 12 in the afternoon ako nag send ng email. I wasn't expecting they will immediately call for a short interview. At around 2 pm, their HR called me via phone. Funny part - nagpapaligo ako kay Bruno at that time. Nasa kalagitnaan ako nang pagsasabon sa kanya. Sinagot ko naman agad yung call. From there, nag ask na yung HR for basic infos and my OJT experience. Medyo aligaga ako kasi malamig ang panahon ngayon at naiwan si Bruno doon sa cr nang basa. Ginising ko yung mother ko na natutulog at that time para siya na mag asikaso kay Bruno. After the phone interview, I felt nothing. No regrets, no nervousness. Hindi ako kabado o yung feeling na I could have done better. Wala pa akong pressure na naramdaman. Around 5pm nag email na si HR sa akin for my final assessment and interview. Hindi ako kabado or excited. Ewan ko, I just felt na "okay interview, sige punta ako" ganon. Kasi at that time magkikita rin kami ng tropa ko kaya siguro wala din yung focus ko sa interview.

1st - HR Recruiter / Marketing Staff

The day itself. January 10, 10AM. Medyo kabado na ako kasi 9:30 am na nasa printing shop pa ako kasi wala ako extra print ng resume. Siguro around 9:45 ako nakarating sa place. 2 jeep kasi ang need sakyan. Nag play pa ako ng hillsong, deep breathe sa labas, at nag pray before enting. Hindi agad ako na interview dahil may meeting yung marketing officer. So medyo kinakausap muna ako ni HR. Ang soft nya magsalita tapos ang hinhin. Ibang iba sa way ko nang pananalita. Help huhu. Ayun na nga around 11am ako na interview.

Results? How was it? Dito na nag simula yung self doubt ko. Simpleng SWOT Analysis lang hindi ko pa nasagot. Wherein fact, alumna ko pa yung nag interview sakin. Yung instruction nila sa akin - they would set a date kung saan may last and final interview pa ako sa Makati for the position ng marketing offficer. Yung explanation naman sa akin ng HR, tanggap na daw ako sa HR doon sa company pero need ko pa ma-interview muna sa Makati. Pero kung hindi raw palarin ay pasok pa rin ako as HR recruiter dito sa Santa Rosa. Medyo hindi na yung nag sink in sa utak ko kasi sobra ko nang sinisisi yung sarili ko na napaka bobo ko samantalang marketing graduate ako.

Bumili muna ako nang tubig sa 7-11. Tapat lang kasi ng company ito. Alam mo pa mas nakaka down? I saw someone I knew na graduate ng Industrial Engineering na siguro papasok na sya sa trabaho nya. Nag pakalma muna ako sa 7-11 tapos ayun I run some errands na for our small business before going home.

I waited until Monday, January 16. Wala akong update na nakuha from them. Kaya nag message na ako sa 2nd job na inapplyan ko para sa initial interview.

Kasabay nang mag apply ako sa 1st job posting, nag submit din ako ng resume dito via LinkedIn. Na-review naman nila ang application ko the same day pero Thursday January 12 ako naka receive ng message from them. Hindi ko pa yun agad nireplayan kasi I was really hoping and expecting na tanggap na ako sa una kong inapplyan. Ayun, kahapon ko lang naisipan mag reply kasi the pressure is really eating me straight to the stomach. From Monday, sobrang down ko na kasi nakita ko yung recent job posting ng PESO which is ayun yung 1st job na inapplyan ko. I see it as - maybe I wasn't good enough for the position that's why they are looking for more applicants. Kaya it pushes me to respond to this position. This morning, agad akong nareplyan ni HR and nag set agad ng virtual interview via Google Meet.

2nd - Purchasing Officer

Backstory lang. Yesterday night, I was watching a lot of job interview tips sa youtube. Nag compose pa ako ng script ko in answering typical interview questions. But then, I woke up around 7am feeling empty and feeling like a big burden and disappointment. Kasi yung ate ko nag bibihis na for work samantalang ako eto nakahiga pa rin sa kama at the age of 24. Sobrang numb talaga ng pakiramdam ko kaninang umaga. Para bang hindi ako nakatulog kasi nagising ulit ako nang malungkot at parang pagod na pagod na sa buhay. Around 8am nag message si HR ng 2nd job. Ayun na nga nag set sya ng meeting at 1:30pm. Dali-dali na ako kumilos kasi need ko pa mag linis ng bahay. Bandang 10am ako natapos. Kaso biglang tumawag yung pamangkin ko saying na walang bantay si Lola. Hindi raw pumasok yung taga bantay. Medyo nainis ako sa sitwasyon. Ay oo nga pala add ko lang, habang nakain ako ng almusal biglang may nag order ng plants suki na namin. Tapos habang nag lilinis ako ng house may 2 nag walk in customers. Tangina. Naguluhan na talaga ako. I kept on asking God ano ba plan nya sa akin, ano ba dapat kong gawin, should I continue our business or aim for corporate job.

Sobrang gulo nang isip ko umaga pa lang. Nagsasabay-sabay na naman yung mga pangyayari. Para bang sinasabi sa akin na I need to choose, I need to sacrifice. Naalala ko yung post na nabasa ko kagabi na "if you want something to achieve you need to sacrifice something". Ayun na realize ko na I need to sacrifice handling our business to jump in corporate world. Kaso I was left with choices kanina. Hindi ko naman pwedeng hayaan na lang kay nanay yung naorder kasi need pa yun i-ship. Buti na lang at pumayag si customer na sa hapon na i-ship ang order nya. 10 am na siguro ako nakapag simula mag prepare for interview. From 10am to 1pm nag memorize at nagbabasa lang ako ng script ko.

Ito na. 1:30pm na. Nag send na si HR ng google meet link. Nag simula na niya ako tanungin. You know what I love most dito sa 2nd interview ko? Sobrang calm and she's speaking taglish. Hinayaan n'ya ko to speak kung saan daw ako comfortable. Ayun nag taglish na lang din ako. Natapos kami around 2:40 pm. Kaso alam mo.. kahit I feel satisfied with my answers sa response ni HR ako nalungkot. I don't really feel na qualified at may chance ako. Wala siyang sinabing exact time or time frame when I should wait. Sinabi lang nya na she will inform the Accounting department about my application. I emailed my thank yous. But no response from the HR.

Sobrang iyak na iyak na ko. But then I remember may need pa ako i-ship. Buti na lang at natapos agad. Umalis muna si nanay para bumili ng paso. Ako lang ang naiwan sa bahay. Ano pa nga ba ang gagawin ko? I cried my eyes out. Sobrang familiar ng feeling. Ito yung naramdaman ko before graduation kung saan iyak ako nang iyak dahil sa halo-halong emosyon na kahit ako ay hindi ko maipaliwanag.

Ang OA ko lang siguro. Emosyonal lang siguro ako. Kaso pati sarili ko gina-gaslight ko. Pakiramdam ko I wasn't really enough - ito lang siguro talaga ang kaya ko. Hanggang dito lang talaga ang best na kaya ko.

Iniyak ko na lang nang iniyak hanggang sa ako na mismo ang mapagod.

Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap

1st time kong gagawin ang isang movie review at mga tol disclaimer lang, ito'y isang movie review ng isang hamak na fan at isang hamak na film enthusiast na wala naman talagang gaanong alam sa filming. CHAROT. Irereview ko ito sa wikang Filipino dahil doon ako mas komportable, dehins ko kailangang ipilit ang sarili ko sa Ingles pero wag kang mag-alala inaaral ko rin nang husto ang Ingles. Chill. Darating tayo don.

Rating: 9.2/10

Storyline: 8.2

Umpisahan natin sa storyline ng pelikula na 'to. Obviously, sa pangalan pa lang medyo nakakapagbigay na ng ideya kung anu ano ang aasahan mo, hindi lang ito basta cliched Filipino comedy. May kakaibang istorya ang pelikulang ito. Isang anak ng isang pinakamagaling na holdaper sa kasaysayan ng Baranggay Husay ay hinahanap ang sarili upang mapunta sa pedestal na kinalalagyan ng kaniyang ama, sunod sa yapak ba, bilang susunod na tagapagmana ng titulong "pinakamagaling na holdaper" ng baranggay. Kasama ang dalawang kaibigan at isang bagong recruit, susubukan nilang matupad ang pangarap ng tropa nila dahil ang tagumpay ng isa ay tagumpay nilang lahat. Ngunit, ang hindi ko lang nagustuhan ay may mga oras sa pelikula na medyo gasgas na at mukhang hindi na masyadong napagisipan (linya at mga lugar).

Casting: 10

Kung kilala mo si Pepe Herrera, Jerard Napoles, Jelson Bay at Paolo Contis ay alam mo nang saktong-sakto sila sa mga character nina Eman, Toto, Carlo at Nikoy. Isama mo pa ang Legendary actor na si Pen Medina. Si Pepe at Jerard na mga Theatre Actors ay nakitaan ko ng kagalingan sa pag-acting sa Big Screen, well, syempre napanood ko na si Pepe sa ilang mga Theatre act ganun din si Jerard, sa lagay naman ni Jelson ang natural niyang pagkatao bilang isang natural na komedyante ay sobrang galing, well ano pa ba masasabi mo sa isang standup comedy na hinubog na ng experience at panahon, Paolo Contis? Isa sa mga solidong komedyante ng panahon natin, hindi ko na ididiscuss yung ibang sub characters dahil sa ayoko na masyadong humaba pa to. So basically, pagdating sa casting ay perpekto para sakin. Nakuha nila ang mga aktor na magbibigay ng diin sa bawat pagkatao ng mga bida ng pelikula.

Overall: 9.4

Isang oras at apatnapong minutong halakhakan, mediocre comedy? Pasok na pasok, sobrang nakakatawa kasi halatanv natural at hindi ang bawat linya at portrayal ng bawat character, at kudos kay Jerard Napoles sa sobrang galing ng pagkuha ng Bisayan Accent sa character ni Toto, mga linya niyang "gusto mo wasakin ko puwet mo" "tite ang deputa" pati iyong pagtatalo ni Toto at Carlo kung ang nilalagay ba sa Tinola ay Papaya o Sayote HAHAHA "eh bobo pala ng mama mo e! Naglalagay ng prutas sa tinola" ibang komedya ang hatid neto, hindi lang siya bastang komedya na naghahatid ng pagkabusog lang ng tiyan mo, bukod sa title na mukhang mga masasamang mga tao sila, sa likod noon ay ang mensaheng hatid ng pagkakaibigan, pagiging isang mabuting anak at ang kagustuhang magkaroon ng marka sa lipunan bukod lahat yan sa plot ng kwento na dapat siya ang magiging isang pinakamagaling na holdaper. Isa sa mga solidong character development ay si Ka Paeng(Pen Medina) tatay ni Eman, na kahit gaano kaliit ang tingin ng lipunan sa anak niya ay hindi niya tinignan ang anak niya bilang ganun, lalo na yung dulo noong tinawag ni Badjao(kontrabida) na bobo, walang utak at sintu-sinto si Eman, yung linya ni Ka Paeng na "Putangina mo Badjao, pag ako nakawala dito papatayin kita, wag na wag mong pagsasalitaan ng ganyan ang anak ko! Putangina mo!" Bukod sa tawa, solidong mensahe at ang gandang mga linya ang bitbit nitong pelikulang ito.

PANAPOS

Overall, isang pelikulang bumasag sa matagal nang hinaing mga manonood dahil sa ginawang lamat ng mga pelikula nina Vice Ganda, Vic Sotto, Coco Martin sa industriya ng komedya sa Pinas. Sana buhay na lang panghabang buhay mga gaya ni Dolphy ano? At sana magsulat uli ng mga script pangpelikula si Joey De Leon.

Late to expect Earlier to be surprised

Minsan magugulat ka nalang kung gano kagaling magpatakbo ng buhay ang buhay mo. Mga bagay na nangyayare nalang bigla bigla sayo ng hindi mo inaasahan. Pakiramdam ko ganun talaga kasaya mabuhay eh, kasi madalas mangyare yung mga bagay na hindi mo talaga expect. Lalo na sa pag-ibig. Hindi naman parati hawak mo yung script ng buhay mo. Mas madalas pa yung mga plot twist na minsan gusto mo pero minsan ayaw mo din. Taon taon siguro nakakaranas ka nalang ng mga ganyang bagay. Minsan masaya, minsan malungkot. Pero yung plot twist ng taon ko yung pinaka matindi sa lahat. Nakaramdam ako ng lungkot, pighati, saya, excitement, lahat na siguro ng matitinding adjective na mababasa mo sa dictionary, kaya eto muna tayo sa 2018.

Sinira nito utak ko eh. Para bang ayaw ka ng bigyan ng chance na magbago or iimprove sarili mo. Kaso bilang isang Miguel Alex Cunanan, nagawan ko ng paraan ang lahat. Muntik nakong bumagsak sa ilang subjects ko dahil sabay sabay ang lahat. Di ko nabigyan ng oras ang pag-aaral. Plus may mga problema ako sa sarili ko sa health (na isang bagay na hindi ko naman dapat sabihin dito kaya let’s hide it). Mga problemang pag-ibig at kaibigan. Sige let’s hash it out.

Nung 3rd year 1st sem and 2nd sem ko ang naging pinaka mahirap na part ng college ko. Kasi syempre sabi nga nila, “the hardest part of college is the year before 4th year and graduating”. Totoo nga naman yon kasi totoong nasira ang ulo ko. Sabay sabay ang mga videos na kailangang ipass na ako lahat ang nag eedit. Gumagawa ako ng scripts for those and nag-aaral para sa mga quizzes and major exams. Kaya talagang nasiraan ako ng bait. Having this problem, sumasabay pa yung health ko which really made me push myself to unknown limits. Akala ko I have enough problems in my hands. Kaya ko naman lagpasan tong mga to since I’ve been polished from raw steel to a fine coin (the reference tho) pero sumabay pa ang lovelife. I did not expect everything. Lalo na yung samin ng ex ko. Di ko siya sinisisi. We just had a huge misunderstanding at sobrang naka apekto saming dalawa. Nagbitaw ng masasakit na salita hanggang sa nahirapan na kaming ayusin yon, including myself. I was literally in pieces. Para bang buhangin nako sa sobrang pino. Again, being me ang bilis ko lang nakarecover (I don’t really know around that time pero sure nako ngayon). Actually hindi na to part ng 3rd year ko, nasingit lang. 4th year days na to

Being alone with everything that I feel medyo hindi ko alam kanino ako sasandal. Sumandal ako sa isang taong sira din ang sarili kaya most of the time tinetend ko siya sa scars and battles niya, leaving alone my feeling and state. As in at war ako outside and inside myself, nawalan nako ng time sa “inside”. I kept on fighting for someone else where in fact I should have been fighting for myself. Nakalimutan kong mahalin sarili ko para mahalin yung iba. Kasi feeling ko mas kailangan nila ako kesa kailanganin ko sarili ko. Surprisingly enough, yung mga kaibigan ko for 4 years hindi talaga ako kilala holistically. Pero I trust them enough para maging kaibigan ko sila for that long. Mahal ko sila, pero I set boundaries na feeling ko nakasama samin at sakin. Sobrang rough ng 3rd year ko as in sa lahat ng aspects. Pero walang nakaalam at nakarinig kasi hindi ako nag reklamo about it. I just stepped ahead and not looking back. Kasi wala namang mag tetend sakin kundi sarili ko and what lies ahead. I was scared. I was fighting an unknown battle from outside and within my self. Di ko naman dinedeny na sinubukan nila akong tulungan. They did, pero most of the time it reverts back to themselves. Para lang akong tangang nag share tapos after nun sakanila babalik. Sobrang rough diba? Nagwwonder parin ako pano ko nalalagpasan every problem I face.

Surprisingly enough again 4th year nako. I stepped outside of hell and said “hello” to another chapter of life. Gradwaiting na talaga ako. Last sem ko nalang sa academe and then internship na!! New faces syempre nameet namin yung mga 1st years from the K12 program. Ang tagal naming hinintay na magka juniors kami. Ultimate pangarap namin yung mag alaga ng mga juniors talaga. Tapos nagulat ulit ako! Kasi on the spot, ako ang naging editor-in-chief ng publication namin sa college. It is called the Lifeline and nafeel ko ang huge responsibility. Pero kaya naman! So syempre first step is to recruit members. Nameet ko na yung mga first years from different majors. May mga nakuha ako from MT and NU, pero halos lahat ng members ko from MT nag quit kasi priorities daw. Pero nag stay yung mga members ko from NU. We all became good friends with them hanggang sa ayun, family na din turing namin sakanila as me the father of them all. Mahal ko mga kids ko. Tapos one time nameet ko tong isang maliit na girl from NU na classmates ng mga anak ko. Di pa siya member ng pub ko (eventually she became one). So far di pa ako nagreveal ng names no? So yung pangalan ng maliit na girl na to is Thea. Maliit talaga siya, tapos cute, tapos ang ganda ng eyes niya. Nagdream ako one time ng typical girl ko pero yung sumusulpot lagi sakin si Shizuku Mizutani. Anime character na pinapantasya ko. Tapos nung nakita ko si Thea nakita ko si Shizuku sakanya kaya nasabi ko sa sarili ko na, “siya yung typical na babaeng iggirlfriend ko”. Ayun, hindi ko naman masyadong inentertain kasi wala naman talaga siya sa priorities ko that time. So expected na minsan okay naman ang life saatin. We are happy, we enjoy things. We go and have fun with fun people pero syempre minsan nagiging shit din. Naging shit ako around this time din. Tapos nakakagulat nanaman, si Thea yung nandun. We share stories. We shared pain. We shared happiness. Hanggang sa ayun she really became a good friend. In a split second bigla niyakong nakilala, higit pa sa pagkakakilala sakin ng mga kaibigan ko. Eventually naging someone siya na ittreasure ko for life. A friend like her is so rare, why not keep her. Kaya ayun I decided to keep her. Tapos hindi ko expect na magiging higit pa dun ang lahat. Dumating yung time na nahulog na yung loob ko sakanya. Totally. Parang from 0 to 100 real quick. I was able to tell myself that I’ve fallen in love with her. Kaya nag evolve siya from the person I want to keep to a person I really want to love and keep and I don’t to lose her forever. Hoping na sana gusto rin niyako (you’ll know soon). So ayun, 4th year 1st sem really ended fair enough. Medyo masakit na medyo masaya. I met new persons na may unique personalities. I met Thea. I love them all. About sa health ko? Hmm, let’s just leave it with the words, “I am better now”.

So 2nd semester came. Naghihintay nalang at mag iintern sa isang government hospital malapit saamin. Supposedly outside the province ako kaso I chose this facility kasi feeling ko mag iimprove ako drastically since this facility has been known to be so toxic in dragon level (one punch man reference). Dragon level yung ultimate level ng danger don. Iniimagine ko yung mangyayare sakin dun nung di pako pumapasok. Feeling ko mawawasak ako physically and mentally. May something new sakin. Nag uusap na kami ni Thea. I mean on the level na araw araw na kaming nag uusap. Yung pag di ko siya kausap parang may something wrong sa araw ko? Kumbaga sa isang araw, I wake up, cook breakfast, prepare for work, work, eat, go home, rest, watch anime/kdrama, play games, sleep, wake up again, naging I wake up, message Thea tell her good morning, cook breakfast, prepare for work, tell Thea I’m going to work, go to work, work, tell Thea what I’m working on and how I’ve been and how she’s doing in school, go home, tell her I got home and tell her to take care whilst going home, so on la la la. Naging ganon na? Nasama na siya sa routine ko na pang araw araw. Around this time alam ko di parin niya alam na mahal ko siya in the level na I want to keep her for myself. So ayun, sinabi ko sakanya na yun gusto ko. Pero nabasted ako. Manliligaw lang yun na indirect. Hindi ko alam talaga pano sabihin yun. So nabasted nga ako, kinabukasan biglang pumayag ang ate niyo. Nagulat nalang ako. Yun yung risk na tinake niya na hindi niya normally ittake kaya mas lalo ko siyang inadmire. I’ve fallen in love all over again. Back to square one nanaman feelings ko sakanya. Since then everyday laging nagrereset yung pagmamahal ko sakanya. Parang everyday I wake up, the fresher it gets. So ayun, wala namang bago sa lahat ng nangyari sa buhay ko except sa nag iintern nako, and minamahal ako ng isang extraordinary and loving girl. Naturally ginigive back ko ng double yung binibigay niya sakin kaya I’m proud to say na “I’m lucky I’m in love with someone like her”. Sinalubong ko rin yung Christmas and New Year with her. So naturally again, siya yung naging matinding plot twist ng 2018 and ang best start ng aking 2019. Gusto kong ispend yung mga susunod ko pang holidays and new years kasama siya. Basically I want to be with her for the rest of my life. Ay oo nga pala, naging kami nung November 24. I think that was a month or two after nung inask ko siya kung pwede ako manligaw, inask ko kung pwede ko na ba siya maging girlfriend officially. Umoo ang ate niyo so.... Oo sige girlfriend ko na siya. Proud ako. Promise, sobrang proud.

2019

January 27, 2019 (9:02PM) nakarating na rin ako sa part ng 2019 ko kasi natigil ako sa pagttype dahil umalis kami kanina para kumain sa MQ. 2 months na kami ni Chi. Same same, everyday I wake up the fresher it gets. I love her more than I loved her yesterday the other day a month ago and a sem ago. I am doing good, never been better in my life. Appreciating things and still practicing an optimist point of view of life. This time around pinapractice ko naman na maging normal lang and wag mag expect too much sa tao. Just learning to appreciate and always being kind. O dito nalang tayo? Sa susunod na taon naman. You’ll be seeing more of my writings niyan. Writer’s POV back next year! (or you’ll never know)

We still need to test this. Although there's no way for Alm to recruit units from Celica's route, in Gaiden you could intentionally let a unit fall in battle in one group and then revive them by using a spring with the other party, effectively jumping one character between parties. With many characters now having some degree of plot relevance this time, I'm now a little concerned that certain scripted scenes could break if this is done with the wrong characters (like Saber or Clive).-Silas

Communications –

Data Analytics –

LinkedIn gives you a detailed analysis in respect to every post that you share helping you comprehend your reach accurately. Producer Scott Handcock Script Editor Scott Handcock Executive Producers Jason Haigh-Ellery and Nicholas Briggs I missed the "Virgin New Adventures" era of Doctor Who.  That strange time when the show was off the air, and the biggest thing keeping the show alive was a series of novels that continued the adventures of the Seventh Doctor and Ace following the shows cancellation.  Eventually Ace moved on, and he gained new companions, most notably Bernice Summerfield (who continued the book series after Virgin lost the rights to Doctor Who, and was actually used as the test pilot for Big Finish to prove their worth and GAIN the Doctor Who license), but also a couple of future space cops named Roz and Chris.  But while I was too young tto really experience the Virgin line at the time, I've long had an interest in it.  So when Big Finish adapted some books into full cast audio plays a couple of years ago I sampled them. Two of the adaptations starred the afforementioned Chris and Roz...and now Big Finish has launched a new boxset starring the Seventh Doctor with these two characters...but instead of just adapting books, this time they are exploring these characters in brand new original audio plays. The set begins with The Trial of the Time Machine, Doctor, Roz, and Chris debating law and order...discussing whether certain laws are constants, or whether laws on arious worlds are unjust...but they must face these questions head on when the TARDIS crashes into another Time Ship, and because of it's own sentient nature, is put on Trial for the crime.  I really loved that premise...it isn't any of the occupants of the TARDIS on trial for an odd crime, but the TARDIS itself. I also found it interesting that a time travelling being within the story also has the Doctor question his own relationship with the TARDIS.  Does the ship enjoy their travels together, or has he just enslaved her for his own galavanting across the cosmos. It's really a small moment, but I found this introspective pause from the Doctor to be really well done. The second episode, Vanguard, involves the TARDIS landing on the Planet Vangard, and find that a war between two factions has lead to the destruction of most of the planet's occupants.  The TARDIS team are all separated, and must do their best to end the War and bring the people together, in order to be reunited themselves...though each faction is looking for escape and hope to use the Doctor and/or the TARDIS for escape.  It's a rather generic plotline for Doctor Who, but it is well exectued and enjoyable enough to listen to. I doubt I will remember much of it a week from now, but I can't say it annoyed or bored me while I listened to it. The third entry (The Jabari Countdown) fared better, as the TARDIS lands on a ship during World War II full of mathematicians heading towards a remote island on a secret code cracking mission.  But the mathematicians haven't actually been recruited to crack any code related to the war, but have instead been recruited by an alien to find a cure to a math related virus, a virus which makes the infected speak only in numbers. This is at least a unique concept, and the creepy atmosphere and Second World War setting make it an enjoyable listen.  The set closes out with Dread of Night, which is an "Old Dark House" story with a sick girl, her worried sister, a seemingly overbearing nurse, and some kind of psychic monster.  It is well executed and a good creepy listen...though if I had a complaint this had one of the only instances of awful sound design I can remember in a Big Finish play.  A woman was whispering so quietly, and I could barely hear what she was saying, so I had to really crank the volume...only to suddenly be surprised by a loud "jump scare" moment...thus violently hurting my eardrums in the process.  The jump scare didn't really do it's job. I was slightly alarmed for a moment, but I wasn't scared...I was just irritated that I had to crank it for some seemingly important dialogue only to get punished by this loud moment...and that has never been an issue with Big Finish before. Their sound design is some of the best of any audio plays I have ever heard. No one comes close to them on the regular...but man that moment annoyed me! Otherwise, I thought it was a really good story. Overall, I'd say this set is quite a good listen.  McCoy's Doctor is always a bit better than I often remember it to be, and his companions in this set are decent, if a bit forgettable.  I think my biggest complaint of the set on the whole is that Chris and Roz lack personality.  I enjoyed them in the earlier plays based on the novels they originally appeared in, but in this set I never truly feel like I got a grasp on just who they are.  They could've been exchanged with any generic companion, and it wouldn't have changed the story one lick.  They aren't awful or annoying or anything...they are just completely bland.  That is a shame. http://reviews.doctorwhonews.net/2018/12/the_seventh_doctor_the_new_adventures_volume_1_big_.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=tumblr

and in Today’s chapter from my personal reading of the Scriptures we see a “festive meal” written about which of course is fully appropriate for the day of Thanksgiving. because we can learn from the Script each day when our hearts are open to its Light in seeing grace unveiled.

Today’s chapter in the book of Acts

[A Dream Gave Paul His Map]

Paul came first to Derbe, then Lystra. He found a disciple there by the name of Timothy, son of a devout Jewish mother and Greek father. Friends in Lystra and Iconium all said what a fine young man he was. Paul wanted to recruit him for their mission, but first took him aside and circumcised him so he wouldn’t offend the Jews who lived in those parts. They all knew that his father was Greek.

As they traveled from town to town, they presented the simple guidelines the Jerusalem apostles and leaders had come up with. That turned out to be most helpful. Day after day the congregations became stronger in faith and larger in size.

They went to Phrygia, and then on through the region of Galatia. Their plan was to turn west into Asia province, but the Holy Spirit blocked that route. So they went to Mysia and tried to go north to Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus wouldn’t let them go there either. Proceeding on through Mysia, they went down to the seaport Troas.

That night Paul had a dream: A Macedonian stood on the far shore and called across the sea, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” The dream gave Paul his map. We went to work at once getting things ready to cross over to Macedonia. All the pieces had come together. We knew now for sure that God had called us to preach the good news to the Europeans.

Putting out from the harbor at Troas, we made a straight run for Samothrace. The next day we tied up at New City and walked from there to Philippi, the main city in that part of Macedonia and, even more importantly, a Roman colony. We lingered there several days.

On the Sabbath, we left the city and went down along the river where we had heard there was to be a prayer meeting. We took our place with the women who had gathered there and talked with them. One woman, Lydia, was from Thyatira and a dealer in expensive textiles, known to be a God-fearing woman. As she listened with intensity to what was being said, the Master gave her a trusting heart—and she believed!

After she was baptized, along with everyone in her household, she said in a surge of hospitality, “If you’re confident that I’m in this with you and believe in the Master truly, come home with me and be my guests.” We hesitated, but she wouldn’t take no for an answer.

[Beat Up and Thrown in Jail]

One day, on our way to the place of prayer, a slave girl ran into us. She was a psychic and, with her fortunetelling, made a lot of money for the people who owned her. She started following Paul around, calling everyone’s attention to us by yelling out, “These men are working for the Most High God. They’re laying out the road of salvation for you!” She did this for a number of days until Paul, finally fed up with her, turned and commanded the spirit that possessed her, “Out! In the name of Jesus Christ, get out of her!” And it was gone, just like that.

When her owners saw that their lucrative little business was suddenly bankrupt, they went after Paul and Silas, roughed them up and dragged them into the market square. Then the police arrested them and pulled them into a court with the accusation, “These men are disturbing the peace—dangerous Jewish agitators subverting our Roman law and order.” By this time the crowd had turned into a restless mob out for blood.

The judges went along with the mob, had Paul and Silas’s clothes ripped off and ordered a public beating. After beating them black-and-blue, they threw them into jail, telling the jailkeeper to put them under heavy guard so there would be no chance of escape. He did just that—threw them into the maximum security cell in the jail and clamped leg irons on them.

Along about midnight, Paul and Silas were at prayer and singing a robust hymn to God. The other prisoners couldn’t believe their ears. Then, without warning, a huge earthquake! The jailhouse tottered, every door flew open, all the prisoners were loose.

Startled from sleep, the jailer saw all the doors swinging loose on their hinges. Assuming that all the prisoners had escaped, he pulled out his sword and was about to do himself in, figuring he was as good as dead anyway, when Paul stopped him: “Don’t do that! We’re all still here! Nobody’s run away!”

The jailer got a torch and ran inside. Badly shaken, he collapsed in front of Paul and Silas. He led them out of the jail and asked, “Sirs, what do I have to do to be saved, to really live?” They said, “Put your entire trust in the Master Jesus. Then you’ll live as you were meant to live—and everyone in your house included!”

They went on to spell out in detail the story of the Master—the entire family got in on this part. They never did get to bed that night. The jailer made them feel at home, dressed their wounds, and then—he couldn’t wait till morning!—was baptized, he and everyone in his family. There in his home, he had food set out for a festive meal. It was a night to remember: He and his entire family had put their trust in God; everyone in the house was in on the celebration.

At daybreak, the court judges sent officers with the instructions, “Release these men.” The jailer gave Paul the message, “The judges sent word that you’re free to go on your way. Congratulations! Go in peace!”

But Paul wouldn’t budge. He told the officers, “They beat us up in public and threw us in jail, Roman citizens in good standing! And now they want to get us out of the way on the sly without anyone knowing? Nothing doing! If they want us out of here, let them come themselves and lead us out in broad daylight.”

When the officers reported this, the judges panicked. They had no idea that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens. They hurried over and apologized, personally escorted them from the jail, and then asked them if they wouldn’t please leave the city. Walking out of the jail, Paul and Silas went straight to Lydia’s house, saw their friends again, encouraged them in the faith, and only then went on their way.

Being a weapon’s dealer was already tricky business, the last thing he wanted was for word to get out and to have issue with the feds. ❝ Are you trying to get us both fucking killed?! What the fuck is wrong with you! ❞ Coming in guns blazing, but not in the literal sense, verbally.  ❝ You know, I already didn’t want to do a deal with you, but my boss insisted. Told me it would be a good bridge to cross and that their shouldn’t be any issues. It was in the fucking clause for a reason, dipshit. Now you better undo this and talk to your people because it’s not going to end well for anyone unless you fix this fucking mess and tell your boss no. ❞
