CEO!Harry
It would be after work, late in the evening, maybe around eight-thirty after a business dinner. He had run into the shops to grab some requested chocolate and goldfish from YN and Ivy - as well as a few pregnancy tests.
He’s reaching for the bag of crackers when something tugs on his long coat, timidly a few times before letting go. ***
Harry looks down to see a little boy, he can’t be older than five and he’s sobbing, he lisps, “I-I can’t fi-find m-my mummy.”
“S’okay, buddy. No tears, yeah?” Harry’s automatically turns into father mode as he tries to reassure the young child, “I’ll help you find your mummy.”
“O-okay,” The boy agrees, following Harry out of the aisle, “Her name is mummy a-and she’s rea-really nice and sh-she makes me pancakes.”
Harry laughs lowly, leading them up to the customer service desk, “Okay, let’s find y’mummy who is nice and makes you pancakes.”
“She’s go-gonna be cross w-with me,” The raven-haired boy sobs, “I did-didn’t stay by the cart.”
“I think your mum will just be very happy that you’re safe,” He tells the boy before telling the customer service work what happened.
Just a few moments after the intercom announcement, a distraught woman comes running towards the front with tears streaming.
“Oh my goodness, David! What happened? You can’t run away from me like that!” She cries out, reaching down and tugging him into her arms.
And when Harry goes to turn around to leave, the woman speaks up, “Thank you, sir.”
Harry looks back and nods, noticing the woman’s eyes goes wide when she realizes who it is - Harry Styles.
He checks out with his goldfish, chocolates, and pregnancy tests - goes home and holds Ivy for a long time before letting her go.

MLB!Harry
Harry’s at baseball camp for kids - hosted every year where the team goes into the community and spends the day with the kids.
He had a blast throwing balls and catching pitches from the primary school kids, as well as showing them how to properly swing a bat.
Easton had insisted on coming as well.
As he and his son walk towards his suv afterwards, with his backpack swung over his shoulder - he notices a little boy (had to be around Cash’s age) who was sobbing on a cement step - no one else near him, the field had already cleared out.
“Daddy, that boy is crying,” Easton points out, holding his father’s hand.
Harry can’t ignore him, of course he would never, he trails over to the kid who’s sniffling with his little backpack by his side.
“Hey, wha’s wrong, bud?” Harry squats down, so that they’re making eye contact - Easton stands back cautiously.
“My-my mom-mommy isn’t here to get me,” He cries sadly, looking at Harry with wide brown eyes - too little to really know who Harry is.
“M’sure she’s on her way, hm?” He asks, setting down his backpack and plopping down next to the child, “I’m Harry and this is Easton.”
Easton shyly steps up as well, choosing to sit in his father’s lap as he comforts the young boy.
“M’Jax, I h-hope she di-didn’t forget me,” Jax hiccups, looking at Harry like he has the answers for everything.
“She wouldn’t forget you! I’m sure she’s just stuck in traffic, it is New York,” Harry smiles warmly, he can’t help but ruffle a hand through his son’s sweaty curls.
“Do you want to throw a ball with me until your mom gets here?” Easton asks, reaching into his own pack for one - pulling a out a nice, expensive lift as well.
Jax appears unsure, standing up and digging through his bag for a ratty, barely useable mitt that looks like it might fall apart any minute.
Harry watches curiously as he notices the confusion cross his son’s face as to why Jax has a mitt like that but he doesn’t say anything except for, “I’ll throw it first.”
The boys play back and forth for only a few minutes until a car pulls up in the lot, a woman stepping out with tired eyes and a waitressing outfit on, “Jax, I’m sorry. My shift ran over. I’m so sorry I’m late.”
Jax drops his mitt, running to his mother for a hug, and saying, “I thought you forgot me.”
His mom laughs sadly, “I would never ever forget you, your the most important thing to me. Did you have fun?”
“Yes, I made a new friend!” Jax exclaims pointing towards Easton who is watching the interaction by his father’s side.
“Thank you for staying with him,” The woman says to Harry,no recognition of who he is, “My boss has been keeping me past my shift.”
“No worries,” Harry smiles kindly back, collecting his and Easton’s backpack, “C’mon East, I know Ezzie’s waitin’ for you at home.”
“Okay daddy,” Easton replies hesitantly, Harry looks back with furrowed brows at his son - not sure why he seems timid.
“I want you to have this,” His oldest is handing his pristine, top-of-the-line baseball mitt to Jax who has wide, happy eyes.
“Really?” Jax asks with pure joy as he takes the mitt and looks it over like he’s won the lottery.
“Yeah,” Easton nods with a small smile, trailing back over to his father and grabbing his hand because he’s nervous and his dad always helps calm him.
The mother glances from the mitt to Harry, “It so kind of your son but we couldn’t possibly take the mitt-“
Harry was his hand dismissively, “Nonsense, Jax deserves a nice mitt. No worries.”
“You are raising a very kind young man,” She praises, nodding towards Easton who’s sheepishly tucked behind his father’s leg.
“Thank you,” Harry grins, a bit proud of himself and YN - they were raising an extremely nice, generous little boy.
It sounds shitty, but the woman feels a bit less guilty when about Jax keeping the mitt when Harry clicks the unlock button to his sleek luxurious crossover ***.
After Harry has strapped Easton, who has a very guilty look on his face, into his booster seat, he gently takes his son’s chin and looks at him firmly.
“Am I in trouble, daddy?” Easton whines, he is about on the edge of tears and Harry isn’t quite sure why - he must regret giving away his mitt.
“Why would y’be in trouble, bub?” Harry has to bite down his smile, he thumbs at his son’s sweaty cheeks - so fucking fond of his little boy.
“I gave Jax m’mitt that you and mama got me. B-but his was broke-broken and he was sad that it wasn’t catch-catching the balls right,” Easton explains, green eyes boring into his father’s.
“Easton Robin, I am so fuck- er, I am so so proud of you for being nice to Jax. Some people don’t have enough money to buy new nice things like we can. You did such a good job today, mama is going to be so proud when we tell her,” Harry tells him, he nuzzles into his son’s curls before kissing his forehead.
“Yeah! Let’s tell mama!” Easton squeaks, excited at the thought of his mother being proud of him and he kicks his feet a bit.
“First, let’s go get you a new mitt and then some ice cream. Sound good?”
“Mama says no ice cream before dinner,” Easton reminds his father - the little rule-follower as always, more like his mom in that way than his dad.
“I think y’mama will be okay with it, you deserve it.”

Gang!Harry
Harry doesn’t know what child in their right mind would ever approach him if they were lost in a store - he was downright terrifying and unapproachable.
He’s currently trying to find the very specific brand and style of diapers YN insists on for the twins but god, why are their so many choices?
He could tell you precise grams of illegal drugs by just eye-balling it, exactly what gun a bullet had been fired from, and how to kill someone with a drop of blood but still torture them.
But he couldn’t find these god damn diapers.
Normally, he’d say fuck it and pick whatever but Olive’s bum gets all irritated from certain brands and Beau gets them off in a blink of an eye if they have shotty velcro.
And if he comes home with the wrong ones, his wife will make him turn on his heel and come right back out to the shops anyways.
“Fuckin’ finally,” He mutters, tossing them into the cart once he finds them with a bit more roughness than necessary.
As he takes off towards the baby wipes, something wraps itself around his calf and he is about to reach for his gun when he looks down to see a scared, little girl with pigtails holding onto his leg.
“I can’t find m’daddy,” The child cries, not seeming to care that the stranger she latched onto has face tats or an overall unwelcoming demeanor.
Harry freezes, unsure of what to do - this…isn’t one of his babies so he, well he isn’t sure what to do about it.
“Y’want me to find ‘em?” Harry asks bluntly instead, he has behind left behind many times as a child and knew how scary it had been.
“Yes please, m’Emma,” She squeaks, letting go off his leg and wrapping her hand in the trolley so she doesn’t get lost again.
“Wha’s y’dad look like?” He asks, attempting to keep his voice soft and nonthreatening but usually that’s only reserved for his babies.
“Um, h-he is old and u-uh always talking o-on the phone,” Emma replies, she isn’t frightening by Harry despite how she should be from his leather jacket to his long curls to the tattoos that cover his skin starting under his chin.
Harry just says, “Hold on t’the trolley,” before they’re dipping down lanes of the store until they find her father.
Her father is in fact bullshitting on his phone while at the deli counter, blissfully uncaring or aware that his precious daughter had wandered off and could have had something horrible happen to her.
It made Harry’s insides twist, he was that little kid many times before, no one cared if he was safe or even remembered him.
It made him want to reach for his gun and blow this guys head off but at last - he has some impulse control despite what his wife would say.
“Excuse me, mate,” Harry interrupts, uncaring of the fact the man is on a phone call.
Emma’s father looks annoyed but confused by the tatted man, pulling the cell away for a moment, “Can I help you?”
“You need t’get off your god damn phone and pay attention to your daughter. City is filled with creeps and y’let her wander around the store without a care,” Harry spits, not caring enough to hide the venom behind his words.
“Mind your own business, asshole,” The man huffs out offended, he then grabs Emma’s arm a little rougher than necessary.
Harry has to resist the urge to beat the utter shit out of this man but he just shakes his head and pushes his cart away.
Does Harry go check out, put his groceries in his car, and then hide in the shadows of the dark parking lot until that man comes out with his daughter?
Why yes, yes he does.
After Emma was strapped into her car seat and he’d shut the door, the man pulled out a cigarette to smoke before he got in the car.
Harry strikes, sleek and unnoticed as he grapples the man into the damp alley - out of sight so the little girl would see.
“Hey! What the fuck!” The scared man yelps with a shell-shocked expression.
Despite this man having atleast a hundred pounds on Harry - he was short and weak.
The gang leader has the man pinned to the brick wall with a gun under his chin before the blink of an eye, “Shut the fuck up.”
The man nods shakily, hyper aware of the metal under his chin, and Harry laughs cruelly as the man actually wets himself.
“I’m going to tell you this once fuck face,” Harry growls, pressing the weapon harder into his skin, “Get off your fuckin’ phone and protect tha’ little girl, you piece of shit. There are some fucked up people in this city that would have snatched her without a second thought.”
The man has the nerve to scoff, “Are you one of those perverts, huh?”
Harry’s teeth almost look like fangs with the way he bares them at the man in front of him, “No, I spend my time murdering them.”
The gang leader steps back, letting the guy take on gasps of air, and Harry goes to tuck his gun away when the man sees the engraving.
Smile! You’ve just met the devil!
“Di-Diablo,” The man stutters in realization.
“Are you going to take better care of your daughter?” Harry ignores the man’s questioning.
He just swallows hard, “I-I will.”
Harry shouldn’t but he punches him hard in the stomach for good measure before casually walking back to his car.
When he gets home, YN proud that he got the right diapers, Harry takes a moment in the nursery by himself with Olive and Beau.
“Dadadada,” The eight month old girl babbles happily, tugging on her father’s long curls as she attempting to gnaw on his shoulder.
Beau is lounging lazily in the cradle of his other arm, blinking slowly up his father - tiny thumb tucked between his lips.
He hates feeling emotional.
Well, he’s getting better with it but it still makes him uncomfortable- especially when he feels like he’s going to cry.
“Always take care of you two. Y’know? Never ever let y’be forgotten. Never gonna let anything bad happen to you,” Harry croaks lowly, burying his nose into Olive’s soft waves to soothe himself - tucking Beau even closer into his side, “I love you.”
-
Vampire!Harry
Harry let’s Valentine wander a bit around the store without him - just an aisle or two away, she was six which was young but she had enough venom in one bite to kill a grown man.
He also is hyper intuned to his baby, can scent her, hear her sluggish heart rate and steady breathing from miles away.
And he had just snatched up a box of granola when his daughter trots back to him with a girl trailing behind her.
Harry instantly bares his teeth at his daughter in warning, she’s not suppose to interact with strangers without her parents there.
She puffs out a breathe of air, giving her father her own glare before squeaking out, “Daddy. She’s lost.”
He tucks his teeth back, letting his eyes become green again as he scents the air - catching the unique smell of the girl and searching like the predator he is for her mother.
“Come, little one,” Harry motions, pushing the cart down the aisle - he can hear a pair of parents panicking about where their daughter went.
“Mummy! Daddy!” The girl squeaks when she spots her parents, rushing towards them and letting them wrap her up in tight hugs.
“Thank you!” They yell back to Harry but he ignore them and keeps pushing towards the next aisle.
Stupid humans who can’t watch their children.
He is bewildered when he hears a sniffle from his daughter who’s walking with her hand gripping on this jeans.
Harry hisses automatically, leaning down at a lightening speed and scooping her up, “Why are you crying, baby bat?”
“Daddy,” Valentine whimpers, venomous little tears falling from face - she shoves her face into his chest with shuttering sobs.
“What is this? Why are you crying?” Harry lowers his growl, he scents her, “You are not injured. You are healthy. I do not smell blood.”
“I don’t want t’get lost,” His daughter blubbers, hands wrapping around his neck and he ignores the passerbys- glancing at them, “That’s scary.”
Harry calms a bit, carding his hand through her hair and rocking her - his dead heart melting a bit, “Daddy and mummy would never ever let you get lost, sweet little bat. Daddy can hear you, scent you from miles away - it will never happen to you. I promise you that.”

G-R bats fall silent in loss to Don Bosco | News, Sports, Jobs
T-R PHOTO BY ROSS THEDE – Gladbrook-Reinbeck senior Cullen Eiffler bears the emotion of the Rebels’ season-ending loss to seventh-ranked Don Bosco on Saturday night in Grundy Center.
GRUNDY CENTER — Taking advantage of scoring opportunities was crucial to any chance of an upset for Gladbrook-Reinbeck against Class 1A No. 7 Don Bosco in Saturday night’s District 9 final at the George F. Wilhelm Sports Complex.
In the top of the first inning, the Rebels had a big opportunity: Tyler Tscherter, Keagan Giesking and William Kiburis found themselves on base with two outs. Any hit would have given the Rebels an early lead and shifted momentum in a contest where the Dons were heavily favored to advance to a substate final.
G-R couldn’t pounce on the opportunity, though. A strikeout closed the door on the best chance of the game for the Rebels (9-8), and Don Bosco (16-1) took control with a run in the bottom of the inning. The Dons led the rest of the way in a 3-0 win to end G-R’s season.
G-R coach Scott Kiburis rued those missed opportunities.
“We had some runners in scoring position in three innings, we just didn’t come through with it,” Scott said. “We were really close to dropping a ball into right field in the first inning, then we’re up 2-0. I mean, that’s just baseball the way it is.”
T-R PHOTO BY ROSS THEDE
Starting pitcher Tyler Tscherter and the Rebels’ defense went up against a savvy baserunning Dons team and faced problems from the start when leadoff hitter Cael Frost took a walk. He proceeded to steal second and third base before a groundout to first allowed him to sprint home and score the game’s first run.
Don Bosco went down in order in the second inning but added runs in the third and fourth innings — the final runs of the game and a frustrating final setback for Tscherter.
The recent graduate and future Kirkwood Community College baseball player said he felt he wasn’t at his best Saturday.
“I was a little off,” Tscherter said. “I had to put the ball over the plate, and when I had to, they made it count and they hit the ball all over the place.”
But the Dons struggled to string hits together against Tscherter and the G-R defense, giving the Rebels a way back into the game if they could find some offense. Tscherter gave up seven hits and struck out six, but walked three and hit a batter.
T-R PHOTO BY ROSS THEDE
Two G-R players recorded hits — Tscherter with two and Giesking with two. Twice after the first inning, Tscherter reached second base and was in a scoring position. But Don Bosco starter Lewis Havel struck out nine Rebel batters and fought off every threat the Dons faced.
Tscherter said the team seemed to be a step behind Havel and unable to crack the code.
“Tonight it seemed like we weren’t seeing the ball well,” Tscherter said. “We didn’t hit the ball as well as we have been in the past.”
In the final three innings neither team would be able to cross the plate — and with the game on the line in the top of the seventh inning and one last chance to extend the game, G-R went down in order.
The Rebels fought back from a 1-4 start to finish with a winning record and come within two games of the state tournament. It’s the fourth time in five seasons the Rebels have made it this far.
T-R PHOTO BY ROSS THEDE
Scott said that despite the loss of Tscherter, he believes there’s a lot of potential in next year’s Gladbrook-Reinbeck squad.
“We have quite a few freshmen and eighth graders, and a couple sophomores,” Scott said. “You know, we’re not going to scream and shout, we’re going to be professional about it [with the team] and do that, and I think we’re going to have some good baseball teams in the future.”
