   This wasn’t how it was supposed to end. Fighting for their lives, well, Loki had expected her to at least be able to hold her own against a few Vanaheim fighters. But it seemed she’d been outnumbered. At first, Loki is calm, fighting back and keeping them at bay from her limp body. A quick toss of his knife and its regripped, tearing into the chest of another attacker as his other hand pushed someone else onto an enemy blade. Oh, WHOOPS. Asgardian casualty. Loki hisses, turning and elbowing another fighter in the chest as he retrieves his second knife.

   He takes a moment to catch his breath, swirling his hands and causing his knives to disappear. He decides, instead, to grab one of the dead attackers’ swords and brandish it against the few attackers left. As they turn heel, he turns back to Marnie and it occurs to him that he should have NEVER left her side to begin with.

   Blood. There was entirely too much blood. JADE, seeping through black clothes and into the ground and grass beneath her. Too much blood. A drop of red mixes with jade as he kneels and leans over her. taking a hand to wipe his mouth ( Now was not the time to worry about a bit lip )      Loki places a hand on her neck, mumbling under his breath as he frantically tried to keep her awake.

   “ Marnie? Marnie! Norns be damned, Schuto, PLEASE. ” His head drops and his hands turn to fists. “ Do not die on me! ”
