stepping a toe more into worldbuilding here, but the corporate raider programme takes on a different name and purpose, alchema.x markets it as a means of 'immunising america's finest against [the most prevalent RE virus strains]', with miguel's research contributing to this effort still

george o'hara, still an asshole, died young, nobody cared, blah blahhhh. unlike canon though , george was more of an absentee father figure, was distant with miguel

miguel knows that tyler is his biological father, and they work together as always. what's different about it though , is that here miguel tries, foolishly or not to strike up a father-son relationship with stone, but ty is the one that shuts it down this time. kind of an inversion of canon. ( me @ myself; rewatch that one scene in netflix's eric that gave me vibes for this )

miguel is a mutate, but not a known / declared BOW yet (plot dependent). remains human-passing. future potential there for him to join a task force --

eyes remain brown. the red hue appears only when his mutation is active, and can get worse from there if he loses control, or is otherwise worked up to an extreme degree (i.e. sclera turning fully red / scarlet)

addition to the above, veins appear more pronounced along his temples when he uses his powers, just for an extra bit of spookiness / showing there's something definitely not right with him. it's kind of like what happens with byakugan users, when i picture it in my head

there is a story, a legend, even, of a scorned child who grew into an angry, vengeful adult. the story says that the child was unloved by their parents, that the village turned a blind eye to the abuse. that the child, upon becoming an adult, was murdered by an angry man for a reason lost to time. and the story goes that in the delicate gray space between death and life, the adult was offered an ultimatum by a god - die, or become powerful.

the adult chose power. and from the grave came a serpent hundreds of feet long, pale white and blood-red. a head like an viper, claws like swords, and wings that swept long and narrow like a falcon's. that venom dripped from long fangs and fire boiled deep in its throat. in the serpent's fury, it burned the village and everyone in it to the ground. and in the mountains that once surrounded the quiet place, it made a home.

for hundreds of years there are stories and frightening tales of a dangerous dragon hiding in the mountains. often, people say, it sleeps, but sometimes it wakes and flies from its lair to lay waste to anything it can. not a single knight has successfully sought and killed it.

there are rumors, that perhaps for the very few people the dragon favors, it changes - shrinks down into a beautiful person who could pass among anyone who walks. there are signs, argue other people, sharp teeth and serpent eyes that would never belong on a normal human.

but these are all just rumors, of course. monsters aren't beautiful.

you've heard it a dozen times from me but, at their core, io is very corruptible. and venadeus is a corrupting force. the circumstances of their death in this verse, plus the promises venadeus made to them when they were trying to decide whether to be resurrected or not, has made this, by far, the worst version of io that I currently write. morally corrupt, one might say.

why? because they thrive on creating fear. io sees the path to peace as forged in violence. if they're terrifying, if they're deadly, if they burn and raze an entire kingdom to the ground and lounge in the ashes, then who really wants to fuck with them?

on top of that, io always thrives in destruction. it feels good to them. they're bitter, they're aggressive, and people matter so little to them that they don't find burning things to the ground a waste. no matter who occupies those places.

and, frankly, venadeus turned them into a living, breathing war machine and then let them loose on a world that scorned them. a god of violence is sure to pass it on to his children in every way he possibly can.

io in this verse also has complete control over how human or how draconic they want to look. it's fine-tuned and fluid. but there are three 'main' forms they favor:

that of a person. the only things that may give them away is the central orange hue in an otherwise gray gaze, and the pale scales that dot their body, often hidden beneath clothes. sharp canines are present, but they are certainly blunter than what appears in their intermediate form. while this a perfect form for mingling among humanity, io finds it incredibly uncomfortable and restrictive.

that of a dragon. several hundred feet in length. sinuous and lithe. they have four limbs, two falcon-like wings, and the head and neck of a horned viper. mostly pale white and gray in color, but the undersides of their wings are blood-red. a comfortable form. they default to this one quite often.

and finally, a form somewhere in the middle. human, vastly... kind of. more scales cover parts of their body, interlocking patterns on their arms, legs, hip and collarbones. the horns present in their full dragon form are also present here, sweeping out from under their hair. their wings are also present, hanging heavy from their back. canines are longer and sharper. the lurid central orange in their eyes is brighter and more obvious. this is a comfortable form. and one they show more often to people they trust and like.

Idea synopsis: (Under the cut for massive block of text, lol)

Blake and Loki met while Blake was attempting to use the subway. He saw Loki, disguised as a mortal, slink away into the subway tunnels. Blake was concerned for the safety of this stranger. He followed after them as Loki used their magic to try tracking an immense amount of power under the city, assuming it was an infinity stone.

Loki senses Blake was following them and quickly realized something was off about him. Loki confronted him, only to see that Blake had the soul stone, which many thought was lost. They have a small back-and-forth, with Loki asking him to hand it over and Blake not knowing what they were talking about.

Then, Loki and Blake got attacked by a giant cat-faced spider. Blake shoved Loki out of the way, getting tackled by the cat-faced spider instead. Loki, meanwhile, landed in a spider's web not far off after Blake's shove, where a giant gold orb weaver is.

The cat-faced spider bit Blake, and barely fought it off with a nearby pipe. Loki had less trouble with the spider on them, though they also got bit. The orb weaver died on impact as Loki hit it, and Blake managed to kill his spider after falling backwards as it leapt at him, the pipe stabbing it through.

Blake and Loki took a moment to catch their breath, but soon, they started to feel the effects of the venom. Loki was affected far slower than Blake, who began to fever and wobble. Loki tried to use their magic to heal himself and Blake, but they eventually fell unconscious. Thankfully, Loki pulled them away from the subway tracks before that point.

Loki and Blake reawoke not long after and suddenly found themselves with strange oddities. Loki was hesitant to just up and leave Blake at this point, given Blake had the soul stone, even if Blke didn't know it; it was far too dangerous to abandon him, especially with Thanos looking for it. So, Loki decided to stay.

Blake and Loki found themselves with Blake's friend, Weed, in his apartment, with Loki still pretending to be a random guy from Earth. That is, until Blake said something to him about it, Blake's new 'spidey-sense' letting him know that Loki is far more than they seemed.

Before long, Loki and Blake soon realized they had new powers. Loki couldn't use most of their normal abilities, given they were undercover, so it was odd, but not unwelcome.

Blake got excited, telling Loki they should become superheroes. Loki was hesitant but quickly realized Blake would do it regardless, and reluctantly agreed so they could keep an eye on him. It wasn't until they started doing it that Loki came around, finally feeling like they were worth something and had a greater purpose, as they often pretended.

Blake chose the name Arachno, while Loki gets the name Weaver. The two work together as 'The Spidermen' and slowly become more than friends. Their exploits are captured by up-coming news photographer Peter Parker. Loki avoids all situations where their identity might get out, especially to Thor, as Loki is targeted for arrest by both SHIELD and Asgard.

Blake is a bit more fucked-looking than Loki is. Blake - Has claws, fangs, spinnerets on his wrists/ankles/mouth, has retractable spider legs on his back and hips (Which also shoot webs), and retractable mandibles. Has paralyzing venom in his fangs and mandibles, which he can spray out of his mouth.

Blake's genetics and radioactivity are quite unstable, leading to spider-like instincts and occasional mutations. Loki, by contrast, is perfectly stable.

Loki's webs that they shoot are gold in color, like the gold orb weaver spider. Loki can also control spiders now, because yes.

Both Loki and Blake have the average powerset of a spiderperson: Wall-crawling, spider sense, etc.

“Does a single day in this accursed city go by without someone destroying it?” - Loki, after the sudden appearance of Doc Oc.

Otto Octavius was the one who made the spiders. He didn't let them out on purpose, but he decided to see what would happen while they were out of containment out of morbid scientific curiosity.

Cortez's storyline does happen, but this time, it's not Copycat and Austin going after him, it's Weaver and Arachno.

Kanjo league in beastars

So I hard core binged like all of the show and read the entire manga in these last few days and just here’s the Kanjo league if they were in the beastars universe in broad terms. (I will warn when there are spoilers since the anime isn’t caught up tot he manga.)

Lance: -dragon based- Bearded dragon. Leans more towards the red colorings. His cousin, Clair, is a Komodo dragon and it bothers him that he’s the one who’s successful business wise but she’s the intimidating one cause of her poison.  Job: Accountant for some of the larger companies 

Karen: -Houndoom based- Doberman( mom) mixed with a Sable Antelope (dad). She has the curved sable horns, sable facial markings with the doberman ones layered on top. Shorter height due to prey genes, but toned muscle build from doberman. Long tail with tuft of hair on end. Dog snout, fangs and claws. Job: Pro fighter 

Will: -Bird and to keep Lucian as bio bro- Eurasian eagle-owl. Lighter brown colors, but has some of the longest claws in the family. Loves that he can fly. Brother is also Eurasian eagle-owl.  Job: Does aerial tricks with friends wanting to get into the big leagues of flying.

Koga: -Snake and venom- King cobra. Mostly all black with a pale underbelly but has a ring of black at the base of his hood. Has a daughter who’s part Blue phase Japanese rat snake.  Job: Alternative medicine shop, he can also give massages, sells anti venom, and venom 

Bruno: -Massive animal prey based- Chianina Bull. He maybe a prey but he’s absolutely massive. Despite being a bull his horns are somewhat small in portion to the rest of his body which is normal for the species. He’s got all white fur but he likes to dye it browns and blues. Job: Construction

Just amusing little jokes from things developed here and the world of beastars. 

Karen’s dad has a thing for dogs as Karen’s step mom is a shiba. Since Karen in the main verse of the blog has had multiple crushes with muses that own cats yes she has an affinity for feline animals. 

Will’s brother, Lucian, runs a library. Will sometimes takes books from this library without asking.

Koga’s been trying to train Janine how to safely use her venom. So far it has gone alright although she has a habit of just letting all her poison fly immediately.

Bruno Is the strongest of the group and has been attacked before. He also tried to apologize to the person that attacked him after defending himself.

Black market stuff

Karen fights in the black market rings there having grownup there and has grown a love of the fight. Plus she feels she can show off just how strong hybrids are and can be there 

Due to living all together and personal preferences of some when it comes to getting meat they have strict rules: No venison, beef, or reptilian of any kind, some birds ok, nothing living still or young. 

Koga mostly eats eggs anyway since they’re his favorite

Bruno was previously in the black market fights brainwashed to be triggered by seeing blood or the smell of it, so all meat has to be put in a freezer in the back till it’s served. Bruno leaves the house when the preds eat usually with Karen since she can eat herbivore meals, or Lance since he just eats bugs and a herbivore diet. Also Koga burns candles to get rid of the smell after they’re done.

Originally when Karen heard about Melon she was ecstatic since hey a hybrid is gaining notoriety! Then after finding out more about him, and seeing him on meat day she quickly grew worried about everything he was planning.

━ CHARACTER MOST LIKELY TO MURDER THEM:    it  seems  obvious  to  say  theo  but  i  also  want  to  remind  everyone  that  killing  tracy  wasn’t  part  of  theo’s  agenda.      he   didn’t  make  it  his  goal  to kill  her.     he  didn’t  genuinely  care  for  her  as  a  person  or  believe  that  he  couldn’t  survive  without  her,     &    he  certainly  didn’t  care  for  her  romantically,      but  she  was  important  to  him  in  the  sense  that  she  was  a  loyal  beta   &    could  help  him  reach  his  goals     (   he  wanted  power,    that’s  what  mattered  to  him.     &     tracy  wanted  theo  to  have  power,      she  wouldn’t  stand  in  his  way  of  that  like  most  people  tried   ——   she  was  only  there  to  help   &    get  rid  of  anyone  who  might  stand  in  his  way.   )      he  saw  an  opportunity      &    took  it,     acting  out  of  impulse  when  he  believed  that  taking  her  power  right  then    &   there  could  be  a  key  to  his  success.        he  assumed  he  didn’t  need  her    &   had  to  do  it  for  his selfish  gain.     i  would  say  theo  is  most  likely  to  murder  her  only  in  a  situation  like  that,       because  he  did  want  a  pack  for  a  reason,    &    tracy  was  a  perfect  beta   for  him.        beyond  that,     tracy  provokes  many  people   without  thinking  about  it.        she  believes  that  she  is  POWERFUL   &   indestructible,     all  because  the newfound  confidence  that  she  never  had  before  makes  her  feel  invincible  to  everything   ——   but  that  often  gets  her  in  trouble.     she  provokes  many  people  who  are  STRONGER  than  her,     even  more  powerful,      just  because  she’s  way  in  over  her  head   ——-    so  it  wouldn’t  surprise  me  if  there  were  other  characters  who  would  at  least  try  to  kill   her.    

━ FAVORITE BOOK GENRE:   she’s  really  interested  in  mythology     &   trying  to  decipher  whether  or  not  it’s  real,     or  how  any  of  these  myths  might  fit  into  her  current  life.      she  was  very  interested  in  the  book  about  the  dread  doctors because  it  felt  very  real  to  her    (    because  it  was.   )      she  has  also  always  been  interested  in  horror,    often  reflected  in  her  art  as  she  likes  to  draw  out  the  characters.    

━ LEAST FAVORITE BOOK CLICHE:      it’s  not  so  much  cliches  that  she  hates,      as  much  as  general  topics.      romance  is  incredibly  BORING  to  her      (   something  she  was  never  interested  in  before  her  death    &    certainly  seemed  minuscule  when  she  came  back  to  life.    )         as  for  cliches,    though,      she  hates  the  cliche  of  the  quiet,     weird  girl becoming  popular.       she  resonates  with  characters  like  that,     &    it  makes  her  feel  uneasy  to  think  that  these  girls  actually  fall  into  a  life  of  popularity  because  that’s  not  what  she  wants.        she doesn’t  need a  lot  of  friends,      she  just  needs  a  few  people  whom  she  matters  to    &   can  provide  some  kind  of  purpose.

━ HOW THEY CHANGE:   tracy  has  a  wide  range  of  character  development   (    not  necessarily  the  GOOD  kind   )      &   it’s  a  little  hectic  to  write  sometimes.      i  have  four  main  canon  verses,    &     she’s  VERY  different  within  each  of  them,      which  honestly  makes  it  a  little  difficult  to  throws  things  at  people  randomly  rather  than  plotting  beforehand.      i’ll  discuss  tracy  before  her  death,      during  her  time  in  the  pack,    &   post  theo.        before  being  affected  by  the  supernatural,       she  was  a  shy,     quiet,     passive  girl  without  many  friends.         she  wasn’t  really  important  to  anyone     (     not  even  her  family     )       &    she  didn’t  have  any  connections  to  anyone.       she  was  just  getting  by  without  anyone.        then,     she  kills  her  dad     &   her  therapist     but  she  thinks  she’s  DREAMING.          more  people  notice  her  now     &     they’re  trying  to  save  her.       she  has more  attention  on  her  than  she’s  ever  had     &     that  makes  it  even  more  scary.        she  doesn’t  know  what’s  happening  to  her  but  she  keeps   trying  to  pretend  it’s  NOT  HAPPENING  because  that  makes  it  easier  to  process.        her  transition  is  really  interesting  to  me  because  it  is  so  dramatic  once  she  gets  through  it.        after  her  death     &   when  theo  brings  her  back  to  life,       she  becomes  an  entirely  different  person.       she  is  finally  able  to  shed  the  life  of  the  quiet  girl    &   become  something  so  much  more  than  what  she  was.         &     she  has  people  who  matter  to  her  now,       &     she’s  determined  to  do  whatever  theo  needs  her  to  do  because  he  offers  her  a  real  purpose  now.        her  change  is  a  complete  180;      she’s  darker,      she  has  more  confidence,      &    she’s  ruthless.         she’s  no  longer  passive,     but  she’s  violent    &   blunt.        to  save  myself  from  rambling  i’ll  link  to THIS  HEADCANON  POST.        in  my  canon  divergent  main  verse      (    in  which  i  find  reasoning  for  tracy  to  be  alive  now     )         she  survived  theo’s  attack,       but  she  doesn’t  change  much  from  when  he  was  alive.       she  still   feels in  debt  to  him  for  bringing  her  to  life     &    for  creating  a  monster  out  of  her;       she  still  sees  him  as  her  alpha   &   her  master,       &   he’s  the  reason  she  deserves  to  survive  at  all.       she  feels  guilty  that  he  died     &     she  survived  when  she  believes  that  she  should  have given  her  power  up  to  him      &    thinks  that  would  have  saved  him.       she’s  even  more  BITTER  towards  the  mccall  pack  because  she  blames  them      (    but  not  before  she  blames  herself.    )        she’s  still  loyal  to  a  man  who  doesn’t  deserve it.

━ WHY YOU LOVE THEM:    i’m  going  to  try  not  to  ramble,      but  i’ve  been  roleplaying  for  7+   years  now,      &     no  character  has  reached  my  love  for  tracy.        i’ve  never  taken  so  much  time  to  develop  someone,     especially  someone  with  such little  screen time as  her.      but  that’s  why  she’s  interesting  to  me,       she  isn’t  on  screen  much,     but  when  she  is,     there  is  so  much  to  look  into about  her  character.       the  first  time  i  watched  s5,     i  couldn’t  stand  tracy,     simply  because  i  thought  she  was  a  character  they  just  brought  on  to  kill  off    (    &   she  was    )      but  i  didn’t  think  there  was  any  substance  to  her.      it wasn’t  until  the  scene  theo  killed  her that  i  started  to  really  think  about  her  character    &   who  she  really  was.        her  mind  is  so  interesting  to  me.      she  was  dead  for  a  month    &    came  back  to  an  entirely  NEW  world  for  her   ——-    she  was  no  longer  a  quiet  girl  in  the  shadows;      she  was  a powerful  creature who  could  hurt  someone  with  just  a  touch  of  her  fingers.      &   she  took  advantage  of  that,     embracing  her  new  life    &    becoming  what  she     (    thought  she   )     was  supposed  to  be.      i  find  that  transition  so incredibly  interesting   &   i  can’t  ever  get  over  it.       she  was  once  a  passive  girl  who  liked  to  pretend  that  the  bad  things  weren’t  happening,      ignoring  her  problems  in  hopes  that  they  would  just  go  away   &   she  would  be  fine.      &  now,     she’s  the  one  creating  the  problems,     causing  destruction,     embracing  a  lifestyle  that  she  once  feared.       there  is  something  deucalion  says  to  her  that  is  so  important  to  me    &   really  gives  insight  on  tracy’s  character.        “   it’s  the  truly  powerless  who  are  all  too  eager  to  demonstrate  their  newfound  strength.    “        before   this,       she  was  powerful,      she  couldn’t  hurt  anyone,      &    she  couldn’t  even  stand  up  for  herself.         now,      she  had  power,     but  she  often  wasted  her  potential,     only  using  her  power  at  the  order  of  her  alpha.      but  she  was  COCKY,     often  overestimating  herself.     she  thinks  she  can  get  through  anyone    (    attacking  parrish,     trying  to  get  lydia  on  her  own,     going  against  scott,     etc.   )      but   more  often  than not,     she  FAILS,     all  because  she’s  too  convinced  that  she  is  in   indestructible.        i  love  that.     i  love  how  much  she  relies  on  being  in  a  pack,      i  love  how  much  faith  she  puts  in  theo,    &     i  love  how  loyal  she  is  to  someone  who doesn’t  genuinely  care about  her  the  way  she  cares  for  him,      all   because  i  find  it  so  INTERESTING.       the  dynamic   between  her   &    theo  is  very  important,     it  shows  a  lot  about  their  characters  individually.      she  is  so  fiercely  loyal that  she  is  barely  a  person  on  her  own,     &    i  think  getting  into  her  mindset  has  been  the  most  fun     &   challenging  for  me,     out  of  any  character  i  have  written.       she  is  someone  i  love  talking  about    &    discussing   &    constantly  coming  up  with new  headcanons  because  i  know  that  she  is  a  very  overlooked  character  (   once  by  me  too   )       &    people  don’t  care  to  take  the  time  to  get  to  know  her,       but  she’s  so  important  to  me????       &    yes,     i  am  sad  that  she  is  dead,      but  honestly,     her  storyline  was  perfect  in  my  eyes.     dying  at  the  hands  of  someone  who  was  that  important  to  her  really  establishes  more  of  her  character      &    i  think  it  was  a  good  way  to  end  her  storyline.     &   i’ll  be  honest,     i  can’t  picture  her  in  the  current   timeline.     i don’t  believe  she  would  ever  like  or  trust  scott’s  pack  after  everything,     especially  without  theo there.     i  think  she  would  just  cause  more  destruction  that  isn’t  connected  to  the  storyline    &   it  would  be  messy.       i  love  tracy  more  than  any  character,    truly,     but  i’m  willing  to  admit   that  she  doesn’t  really  have  a  place  there   &    fitting  her  in  would  probably  ruin  her  development       (    &    redemption  or  any  attempts  to SAVE  HER from  what  she  had  become  would  be  boring  to  me.       especially  because  i  don’t  think  she  would  give  in.     )        why  do  i  always  ramble,     why  can’t  i  just  say  why  i  love  her  in  simple  words?      anyway  i  love  tracy.

DRAGON FAUNUS HC COMPILATION.

previous compilation was written here over two years ago. these headcanons only apply to my specific interpretation of ren, if your muse deals with dragon faunus lore, you’re not obligated to acknowledge them. as another disclaimer, ren’s headcanoned faunus heritage, while is a large part of their portrayal, is not the most vital or a pinnacle element of it. it was something that i added because i thought that it would be interesting, but i want to make it clear that i never intend to detract from canonical or oc faunus muses’ struggles.

the initial reason i wanted to make ren a dragon faunus was because i wanted to somehow include mushu in my portrayal. there were other more complicated reasons i felt inclined to do it, including parts of a thesis i was working on at a time analysing the historical accuracies involving mulan’s confusian oriented belief system and it’s representations on the hun army in the disney movie, but none of them were as profound and simple as this post. the primary reason i choose to keep ren a dragon faunus is because it is heavily implied the spirit of the great stone dragon was imbued into mulan before joining the war.

ren’s faunus trait is a pair of ivory horns. a lot of mistrali based dragons have horns similar to antlers, and ren’s will eventually do that come professional huntsman verse, splinter into antlers i mean. when ren was a child, in an act of violence by faunus poachers, their horns were broken off. because their anatomy is a mixture of antler, soft bone, and keratin, ren’s horns would grow back in time, but it would take a long time especially since up until a year or two before beacon ren was filing them down in order to avoid being harassed. dragon horns, whether eastern or western styled, fetch a hefty price on the black market.

it’s a common thread of dragon faunus mythology that they descended from dragon shifters. of course, words were muddled up along the way, and there are many many variations of these myths. the magically protected remnants of the old world in the brother’s time left some supposed evidence that faunus, the new race, were the descendants of the depicted brother gods who often were portrayed in their bestial forms : dragons. just like the stories of the maidens were lost to time, so too were the remains and beliefs in the brother gods. but one superstition still remains among dragon faunus society, and it is that western dragon faunus are often depicted as terrifying malevolent creatures ( modelled after the god of darkness ), while eastern dragon are regularly depicted as wise and benevolent ( modelled after the god of light. )

because in this house we say “fuck you” to the one trait rule, i headcanon that dragon faunus have one main trait, and then a bunch of sub traits which greatly alter their physiology. main dragon traits are often flashy : horns, wings, tail, and / or an excess of scales. for example an important signature trait of dragon faunus is the ability to breathe fire, which separates them from any other reptile faunus. dragon faunus are born with a special venom reservoir ( what the venom is made of is a mystery, but ren theorises that it is actual liquid aura with some similar attributes to fire dust ) which leaks into the fangs. when the venom leaks out of the fangs and catalyses with oxygen, it becomes a flammable gas / smoke ( not harmful to anyone inhaling it ) meant to react to flint. dragon faunus are born with a gap in their gums specifically to place either flint or a piece of dust in there in order to breath fire. ( because of this, dragon faunus are resistant to the negative effects of dust ingestion. )

the amount of dragon faunus venom produced, and the muscles associated with the reservoir react to adrenaline, an increased heart rate, as well as an instinctive urge to bite. this makes the four major states of increased smoke production anger, nervousness, happiness, and arousal. the smoke itself is a different scent depending on the person, as it is theorised the venom is made from aura, the scent is as unique as the aura itself. ren’s smoke smells like lily incense. ren has a good sense of control over their smoke. not only does their semblance help them with controlling their emotions, but it is ingrained in lie dragon faunus to keep calm and focus so their smoke cannot be used to track them down. it is very rare of ren to lose their composure enough for someone to see the smoke ( especially when they are still hiding the fact that they are fauni. ) the smoke has a slight reflective property when inhaled, making the subject feel the same thing ren is feeling. if it is inhaled when ren is happy, then the subject will become happier too.

a fairly common attribute in some faunus are different genetic make up. ren is capable of processing raw meat in times of extreme desperation, even though their culinary knowledge and ability to breathe fire make this obsolete. they also have powerful lungs that aren’t as susceptible to things like cigarette smoke and harsh airborne chemicals, or at least corrode slower than human lungs. ren also has eyes which dilate and contract depending on exposure to sunlight, tougher nails to build up claws, fangs, etc.

dragon faunus bones are hollow, like a bird’s. to be honest, i have the same physiology headcanon about any faunus that can fly. they’re not completely hollow but there are air pockets within the bones. skeletal pneumaticity allows for a redistribution of mass within the body, and though does not drastically affect ren’s weight ( they’re a little lighter for a male their age ) this part of their physiology allows for better balance of weight within the body to allow for greater balance, agility, and ( with winged dragon faunus ) ease of flight. because of this, dragon faunus are susceptible to calcium deficiencies and bone diseases.

because ren’s horns were broken off when they were young and continuously filed down, they are small for their age. in dragon culture, it would be embarrassing to have horns this small unless you were still a child. dragons in ren’s region used to decorate their horns with intricate carvings, with jewellery, but ren is too afraid of damaging the integrity of them. the most they’ll do is wrap some flower and flower stems around them. because of their trauma concerning their horns, no one but close friends and family are allowed to touch them.

the reason the lie family heads have an extensive reputation for being isolating in regards to protecting their family comes from ancient horror stories of dragon poaching. the reason dragon faunus are so rare is because they are an ancient ancestral line rich with magic in their own physiology. they have been murdered and harvested for their faunus traits before. it’s a common thread of mythology that dragons were once made of pure magic ( originating from old stories of the two brothers ) and there is not one part of the dragon that cannot be sold for a very high price on the black market.

dragon bones are highly valuable because of their slow decomposition and strength. they are however hollow, which explains the common trait in lie heirs of valuing speed and agility over strength, making them very gifted in acrobatics and free running. dragon bones were often used to craft heat and lava proof tools. they were also used to create strong weaponry which seemed to amplify the strength of dust.

dragon eyes have six optic nerves to see light in different part so the colour spectrum, as opposed to the human’s one optic nerve. dust — aided lenses created using dragon eye could reveal parts of the dragon’s advance eyesight to regular humans and most faunus.

dragon scales are diamond hard, capable of resisting most projectiles unaffected, and are most often made of the minerals used to create their suitable gemstone, ie. an emerald scale to suit ren’s would be made out of beryl, chromium, and vanadium. dragon scales have a lifespan ; where they are fresh and newly grown they are their most beautiful and valuable, the extraction of a fresh scale is the most painful similar to the extraction of a fingernail and leaves scars in the shape of the outline of the scale. a dragon scale extracted stays the same and will not go through it’s lifespan. dragon scales dull over time, and are quicker to dull depending on the age of the dragon. when they are duller they are easier to remove, and it is at this point where they can be shaped into top notch jewellery, or even melted down into weaponry or dust — enhanced / enhancing tools. this cannot be done with fresh scales. the last stage of the scale is when they fall off to make room for a fresh new set of scales, it is at this point when they can be ground into actual dust ( this is where the foundation of ‘ dragons are made from magic ‘ mythology came from ) or turned into a potent drug which temporarily enhances semblance but at the terrifying cost of turning your flesh into crystal, and when it wears off the flesh turned crystal will either stay as is or crumble away. there is also a rumour that dragon scales dissolved into sulphuric acid, and again into 100 parts water can create an invisible ink glowing only under the magnetic conditions pertaining to the shattered moon.

dragon wings are one of the most light and durable materials known to man, primarily used in the age of brutality to aid in the creation of flying machines. they are fireproof, waterproof, and generally indirect damage proof. they will still break under physical pressure and are one of the slowest recovering parts of their body, the most effective outside weak spot. in a way similar to a tongue, most regenerative ability distributes to the wing first and then the rest of the body. the wings are highly important weak spots, in the words of the vikings, a downed dragon is a dead dragon. dragons with wings primarily made of feathers were also targeted; specifically because dragon quills are perfect for creating dust tattoos having no need to dip the quill in dust before applying it to the skin. it is just automatically there, since the feathers when burnt create dust in their ashes.

dragon teeth are commonly used to create dust — amplifying weapons, but the most valuable part of the dragon mouth is most definitely the venom reservoir ( mentioned above ). dragon faunus produce this all their lives, no matter if they use them or not. the smoke produced from combining the spark pouch and the venom reservoir is rumoured to reflect the temperament of the user once inhaled. the material in the venom reservoir is still unknown!! it has very few common traits, though is rumoured to take on characteristics depending on person. ren’s venom is the same colour as their eyes and aura. their venom is deceptively sweet smelling, and though ren hasn’t learnt much through experimentation, knows that the smoke they produce often smells like fading incense.

dragon blood is a slow corrosive. this is one of the most rare dragon faunus traits. in small doses can promote health and regeneration, in the rarest cases able to cure incurable diseases and even regenerate lost limbs ( like a lizard ). it can be used to heal most wounds. ingested dragon’s blood in high doses can corrode the body from the inside out, damaging the brain and language centre first. those that have abused dragon’s blood before are recorded to speak some strange ancient language before dying. the ancient lie clan believed this language was that of the moon men. unbeknownst to her, ren’s mother was a dragon faunus with one such trait. she did not know this for the entirety of her existence, though she did miraculously heal from a terminal illness as she aged. she effectively destroyed her matrilineal history of a special terminal illness that has affected their family for countless generations. she never came to know this, and until ren has children, and their children have children, they might never know.

western origin dragon horns hollowed out produce beautiful music. there is no magical trait about them save for particularly successful results when used in pagan rituals, or high levels of luck in killing enemies when made into a dust — amplifying weapon. horns are considered the least valuable of all dragon parts, and thus are the most common trait.

I KIND OF answered one like this with weird headcanons but I’ll indulge with my favorites ;)Roman – he still has his scars. just like Olivia has the funky scar on her back, Roman has a scar on each arm from when he became upir. (also: this happened in the final episode of season one, but they didn’t continue it in season two for some reason. same with the fangs. i keep them. they’re beautiful thank u)Barty – would have founded spew if, you know, there wasn’t a war going on at the time. He and Re/gulus would have been the co-founders. Point being he has a deep love for house elves. (idk if this is my ultimate favorite headcanon for him, but it’s up there XD) Gale – He tried to go back to save more people in twelve and definitely would have if Rory hadn’t literally held him back. He would have been dead if it weren’t for his brother dragging him back out, and maybe somewhere in the back of his mind it clicked that he’d have to teach Rory how to take his place before he could die.Jackson – In my main verse, he turns into a werewolf after season 2, but he still retains a few minor reptilian qualities thanks to everything that happened. He’s frequently cold, he cannot change at all in water (and therefore quit lacrosse completely and just did swim team so that he would be sure he wouldn’t accidentally change), and his claws have just a bit of venom still. It’s not as potent, but it would certainly paralyze a human and slow down another supernatural. Tristan – This one’s hard only because he’s an OC so literally everything is technically u know…  “headcanon.” buuUUt, two things: he goes by fake names all the time and has literally used stuff like Han Solo in 16th century England. And two, he speaks probably around 25 different languages, but only a handful of them are from Earth (old earth). Frank – is shoRT FOR FRANKLIN. ok but really – his dad won’t let him have a cat, but there’s this grey cat that he’s sort of secretly adopted. He gives him food away from the house because he’s worried his father will kick him or something if he catches the cat around. And since he doesn’t like spending time at home anyway he just kind of hangs out with the cat sometimes. He calls him Ziggy. Eliot – uses his mind for magic more than anything else. His fingers, hands, are mere instruments to channel it with, but I feel that even if his hands were gone (sorry penny), he’d still be able to control his magic with some practice. He was able to move a bus – a bus – with his mind at a young age. now of course this was one of those one-time-big spurts that Dean Fogg talked about, but still. That kind of thing doesn’t get ignored.
