For today’s lesson, we're delving into the origins of Betty Boop, a beloved cartoon character whose creation was inspired by the Black performer Esther Jones, also known as Baby Esther.

I honestly look forward to the time when I can stop posting all the political stuff and get back to posting just the things that I want to post: cars, motorcycles, mountains and anything else that catches my attention. Unfortunately even if Harris wins MAGA and all their bullshit is not going away soon. Trump is still the head of it for now but even when he goes down in flames the rest of the assholes will be around for a long time. And as long as they are I will continue posting and reposting anti fascist content.

Drawing baby Bokushi in cute clothes because I can (part 8)
[Art related to my fic, Accidental Siblings.]
It's been a seriously hot minute since I've done anything for this series, but I'm back and you guys are in for a treat! I was looking at cat-themed clothes on the internet and really wanted to see baby Boku dressed in cat-themed clothes, so I screenshotted five of my favorite outfits and went to work.
Ever since I stopped using flat colors, my art has really come alive. Looking at my first-ever baby Boku OOTD art, there's so much improvement, which means I've come very far on my art journey in a short amount of time. I feel like I'm still solidifying my art style, though, so I expect it to change every so often. However, I think I'll keep my current one for a little while. Anyway, enjoy!

If anyone wants to request an outfit for me to draw baby Bokushi in, feel free to send it to me in any way you wish, whether that be through a reblog, an ask, or a DM. (❁´◡`❁)

My parents are very big into “all lives matter.”
“We’re all human, so we all experience the same basic things out of life.”
Tell me, have you ever been called a faggot? “Well, no-“ There. I’ve experienced life differently than you. Okay? Let’s take it to the next level.
Do you ever feel in danger with a cop? “No! My grandpa was a cop, and he-“ Cool, wonderful. You inherently feeling safe with cops is an experience almost no brown or black people have experienced in the US.
Did you go into the hospital when you had your kids, knowing that you had a higher chance of dying because of the color of your skin? “What? No, of course not!” Great. You’ve experienced something that most black pregnant people don’t get to experience.
Have you ever been told that you need to go back to your country? “No, I was born here.” Then you’ve experienced life differently than most Latinx people in America. Most of them were born here, too.
Have you ever been called a terrorist? “No, I’m not a terrorist!” Then you’ve experienced life differently than, not only most Americans of Middle Eastern descent, but damn near every Muslim in the country. Not to mention Jewish, pagan, or Christian, or any other religion where people cover their hair.
When you leave the house, do you live with the knowledge that if you go missing, the only people who will look for you are your family? “No, the police-“ Then you’ve experienced a different world than Native Americans in America.
Have you ever been called a virus? “No! That’s insane!” Good for you, you’ve experienced life differently than Americans of East Asian descent.
Humans are humans, and we’re all beautiful and amazing. But saying “don’t see color” or that “all lives matter” completely diminishes the fact that other people have different experiences based on the color of their skin. You can’t simply say, “well, it should be ‘this’ way instead of ‘that’ way,” and expect the world to bend to your will.
Having said all this, these are centralized around America because I am American and can’t speak about other countries that I’m getting very limited information about and from.
