⚜ || There was no big fanfare yet, no big crowds, no one in the way to show their excitement now that the big, brave hero was coming back to Crete.

The biggest, the bravest, the best hero, the one they would tell about in aaaaall the history books from now on that Ariadne would write herself! But right now, he wasn’t going to be the people’s heroes! Right now, he was just going to be Ariadne’s hero! No, he was going to be Ariadne’s big brother!

❛ Big brother! Welcome home! I missed you the most!❜

She ran to greet him as soon as he entered town, having snuck off by herself so she could be the very first one to say hello to him upon his return. She was much smaller than him, but with her running start, she jumped and leapt into his arms for a hug.

❛ I love you! Do you have any cool stories to tell? Did you find a monster? Did you save a princess? I’m still the prettiest princess, right? And your favorite princess in the world?❜

⚜ ||  ❛ There!❜

She wiped her face with a happy sigh, getting ink smudged on her cheeks as she looked down at the paperwork she’d just finished. An official decree! She wasn’t the queen yet, but it was probably allowed. She was sitting in her father’s study, writing with his reed and his papyrus, so this felt so official.

She hopped down from her chair and rolled up the paper proudly. She had made a bit of a mess with getting the ink and the paper, but the ends justified the means!

The door creaked open and she smiled with glee, turning around and showing her father the decree she had written all by herself, completely oblivious to the state she’d left her father’s workspace in.

 ❛ Father, look! It’s perfect! I did it! This is a law now, right? My very first law!❜
