#pLS THE FINAL SECTION IS SENDING ME #i debated on the labels section for a long time but at the end of the day i don't think dazai cares for them in reference to himself #he just does what feels good #and doesn't quite care for a name for it #education was also an interesting choice bc i do think he had some formal education in primary school #but for a very short amount of time before he ran away #and then i def think mori forced some kind of odd elements of formal education where he taught dazai a lot #also take both sets of traits as like surface level most of them are just..him putting on an act #♪ burdened with a pack of ten misfortunes 「 dash games 」#♪ justice is a weapon 「 study 」#self harm tw

especially in dazai’s younger/teenage years he was extremely malnourished, this began due to his years alone on the streets/in the slums before he was taken in by mori and during the majority of his time while in the mafia, most would look at him and likely describe him as somewhat sickly. he never cared about living enough to fix his diet ( or lack thereof ) and found he didn’t have much of an appetite most days

things began to slowly improve after he met oda and ango, almost subconsciously dazai was eating more. with spending time going to lupin, he’d steal food from them if they’d bring any along and often pester the bartender for snacks with their drinks ( usually snow crab )

these days, while dazai is far from having a particularly healthy diet, he no longer is in such a malnourished or sickly state, though still very thin

#in the light novels - v much so in fifteen it's really emphasized HOW thin he is #chuuya even compares his body to a tree branch #which i imagine is partly chuuya being chuuya but its not the only instance he's described as overly thin or twig-like #he's like at that almost borderline unhealthy weight i think but much MUCH better than he used to be #there were def days back in the pm where after he would have a particularly bad attempt that mori saved him from #he would look like death - he'd be SO sickly - just pale and emaciated and weak looking but then he'd open his mouth and you'd forget #you ever thought he looked weak #♪ the world had suddenly opened as if the sea 「 headcanon 」#♪ justice is a weapon 「 study 」#eating disorder tw #food tw #body image tw #suicide tw #it wasn't quite an ed but i know that's a super sensitive subject so i just ): don't wanna risk !
