Who Is Jake?

Oh, sweet baby Jake... Whatever has happened to you? Has our resident little ball of sunshine, charm and foolish romantic notions turned sour? Honestly, you blink and you miss it all around here. Weren’t you supposed to be chasing your big college dreams at Columbia, presumably doing your best to move on from all that high school drama? I have so many questions. The Jake I knew was the man - beloved by all, voted ‘most kissable’ in the unofficial year book, wouldn’t hurt a fly. You were goofy and sweet and, well, not exactly the brightest but who was really interested in you for your brains. If you didn’t count your tendency to pine over girls that were the epitome of ‘unavailable’, you were simply loving life, no? The world was your oyster (if you could just get the grades). I know things were getting a little messy towards our time together but you were sure to turn it all around. Now look at you! All scowls and stubble. A Little Extra

Jacob Hunter was the darling of the Upper East Side. Well, one of them anyway. Born into the lap of luxury like most of us here, he grew up wanting for nothing. Sure, his dad’s a little scary but his mom more than makes up for it in love, laughter and absolutely iconic fashion sense. Plus, with Logan Hunter as an older sibling, their dad’s glare was fixed firmly in that direction. Jake was always popular. He had the looks, the talent and an adorable, occasionally vacant look on his face. There really was no faulting Jake and, well, the fact he was St Jude’s football star didn’t hurt either. Now, Jake is a sweet guy - a little mushy, actually - however he did gain a reputation. Everyone saw him as a player (not just on the football field, you see) and admittedly, he leaned into that. He might have wanted to wax poetic and take things slow but when your alleged tutor suggests making out instead well... That’s cool too. Let’s just say not a lot of studying was going on in those days.

Despite what you’d think, Jake was chronically unlucky in love. He’d take it on the chin but still. In brighter news, he did actually manage to get into college (mostly due to athletics and maybe his parents) and ended up as the Quarterback for the college team (go Lions!). Hell, even his last minute St. Jude’s rival Sam Watts became a cool guy once they were in college. He thought forsure there’d be hard feelings when he took Sam’s high school position but no. Things were looking up. For once he was trying to focus on his studies instead of his messy dating life which was definitely a smart move. Did he still hold a torch for the infamous Sapphire Vandervort? Yeah but it was okay. Getting there anyway. Sure, maybe he was still holding out hope but she wasn’t ready. At least she was still there, you know? Well... Until she wasn’t. Sapphire running away was one of the first things to go catastrophically wrong in Jake Hunter’s life. Mix in a little hushed family drama to his concentration and his performance started to plummet. Not on the field though. At least he still had football. Well, until teammate and supposed “friend” Sam Watts “accidentally” slammed into him during a game only unlike in high school, the damage was to his throwing arm and it wasn’t just going to go away. Next thing you know, Jake is dropping out of school and ghosting his friends and family. Even his mom. Big yikes, right?

What Does Gossip Girl Have On Them?

Jake was a part of the Original Takedown - Jesse is a bro and bros gotta stick together! Gossip Girl knows that Jake not only had a giant crush on Jesse’s GF Sophia, almost kissed Scarlett at the ‘singles day’ event but hooked up with Sapphire at the Fairchild Ball (on the very night of Logan’s accident too!). GG also knows that Jake has recently found out about his biological parents and isn’t saying a word about it.

Connections

Logan and Camille Hunter - the siblings! Jake’s always been close with them both, loves them a lot but with how he’s been feeling lately... He doesn’t really wanna hear from them.

Sapphire Vandervort - Jake’s been in love with Sapphire for forever and they’ve been friends (friends that look at each like that™) almost his whole life. They hooked up at the Fairchild Ball when Saph was “dating” Tyler Van Buren which was a mess. He’s always been a sucker for her though and could never stay mad at her. Her leaving messed him up badly.

Sophia Vandervort - secret? Jake had a big crush on Sophia. But then Sophia was dating his best bro and, well, bros don’t have crushes on bros’ S.Os.

Jesse Walker - the best bro you’ve been hearing so much about!

Samuel Watts - when Sam transferred to St. Jude’s, there was an instant rivalry between the two. Sam wanted Jake’s spot on the team as Captain and QB, doing almost anything to get it. Once they started college, they agreed to let bygones be bygones. They fist pumped about it! Then the “accident” on the field happened. Jake doesn’t talk to him anymore.

Why, if it isn’t Ms Sienna Haven, home at last! I can only imagine how things might have been different if you grew up here on the Upper East Side. I’m sure you and I would have had quite the time together. I know you have a temper in there, a tendency for the dramatic when things don’t go your way. You believe in yourself though, enough to follow your dreams and pour all of your energy into it. You’re passionate, talented and you work hard to be a star. Admittedly, you might get a little caught up in the drama of it all, the celebrity but you’re trying to be better. You got back into school, you’re finishing up in your senior year and before you know it, the world will be even more your oyster. If you can handle paparazzi, rumours and catty talk show hosts; you’ll do just fine here. I’ll be interested to see you return to your not-so beloved New York (how are things with mommy dearest?), reconnect with old childhood besties and your family. A Little Extra

Sienna Haven was born in New York to parents that were already divorcing. Her father being a Haven, of course, got custody from her mother. He later remarried, moving Sienna to England with summers spent on the Upper East Side with the extended family. When Sienna was fourteen, her mother remarried as well. Her mom’s new husband had his own children and life in Abu Dhabi so mommy moved to be with him, breaking off contact with her daughter. After all, Sienna’s mom had a new life to focus on. After that, Sienna vowed to never return to New York again. She was always very smart and academically speaking, never had a problem getting perfect grades. When she graduated, she got accepted into Cambridge University starting her studies in business and doing theater on the side like she had during secondary school. You know, as a hobby. A hobby she was very passionate about but a hobby nonetheless (Sienna didn’t want to dare to dream, you know?). Low and behold, a casting agent attended one of Sienna’s plays and boom! Life changed. It was a daytime drama and of course she just couldn’t turn down the role so she gave up her full time study at Cambridge and quit theater completely. For three years she starred as the “mean girl” that was constantly scheming. Her character had done a lot of whacky things on the show including but not limited to: murdering someone by accident, participating in two marriages and faking her own deaths (multiple). Then one day the writers told her that she was being written out to refresh the show. Did she take that news well? No, she didn’t. In fact a very public meltdown followed which is something that’s still terribly embarrassing for her to recall. After that, her agency dropped her and no one seemed to want her on their shows anymore. Just when Sienna thought that she was done, reputation tarnished, New York called. Yup, the one place she’d turned her back on for good turned into her salvation. As well as a job offer, Sienna’s father managed to get her back into college. Things were looking up. Fast forward to now and Sienna is finishing up school, cementing herself in a lead role and still holding a small but very real grudge against her mother for the abandonment.

It’s hard work for you too considering that you grew up in the same household as your two dull as dishwater siblings. The weight of the world was really on your shoulders... Or at least the weight of making sure any family parties weren’t boring. You’ve always loved the spotlight and you thrive from getting attention. You’re not afraid of anything, ready to try everything without much prompting. You just want to live your life to the absolute fullest. You fit in easily wherever you go, instantly making friends and skipping the line at the club. There’s nothing that you can’t do and that’s just a fact. You might play hard but you work hard as well. A Little Extra

People like Michelle King. They’re drawn to her like a moth to the flame and she knows it. Give her ten minutes and she’s already BFFs with at least five of the people in the room and at least two of them are crying on her shoulder because she just gets them and their drama. It’s a blessing and a curse. Michelle has never lacked confidence and she always goes after what she wants. If she feels something, she’ll say it. If she wants to do something, she’ll do it. Life’s too short. Growing up, she was the star of the King household. She would put on shows, singing and dancing, acting her way into the hearts of her adoring fans (well, her family). She always knew that she destined for greatness but it wouldn’t come without hard work. That was no problem for Michelle though. While she loves nothing more than to have fun, she’s ready to do what it takes to be the best. The competitive streak kind of runs in the family.

Michelle’s older siblings, James and Spencer, are hopeless in her opinion. She loves them dearly but honestly, they need to lightened up. Spencer is a big time football star and he’s still in bed before 10- it’s tragic! And don’t even get her started on James. Those two would be lost without her guidance (at least, that’s what she tells them). Michelle loves being the baby of the family too and all the attention that comes with it. Her dream is to work in the movie industry, to be a big shot director and really make her mark on the world. That’s what she’s studying at college and she’s never far from a camera be it for more serious footage or just her phone for updating her Insta story (the fans need to know). With Spencer’s connection to the really fancy Upper East Siders and from friends she’s made herself at college parties, Michelle has a few interesting numbers in her phone. A connection is a connection and she’ll use whatever and whoever she has on her list. The sky’s the limit for Michelle and what she can do.

Michelle wasn’t in the Gossip Girl takedown group and honestly didn’t really notice. She does like a bit of gossip though so GG’s return is very interesting!
