So I'm not sure if anyone else had this assumption, though I think the MV frames it this way and this it what I had believed for a while- the assumption that Mikoto had been cornered in some way by John at the end of Double(This is, of course, assuming the 'green' colored one is Mikoto and the 'pink' colored one is John). hello, hello, you all — so... i hope you all are having a great thursday thus far, and i thought i'd bring this up now since i hadn't before; but with ana's zombification comes some noticeable differences to his behavior as well as appearance. because, and don't get me wrong, he was already pale before... but now anastasiy's skin now has this pallor that takes on a sickly look. and it has become necessary for ana to have to apply some concealer to his skin daily to hide the fact that his lips are, indeed, sort of tinged blue + some veins (particularly around his eyes and mouth) can clearly be seen and it definitely isn't the most uhh. natural look, to say the least JSJSJ

now, i'll probably cover more about his behavioral differences later, but one thing is that this man does have these SICK and TWISTED urges to consume human flesh as a zombie would in typical fiction would... so that's lovely / j LMAO nahhh, i'm totally being sarcastic with y'all right now as that is actually horrifying. but anastasiy does try his darndest to resist giving into this temptation because cannibalism is a BIG no-no in society for a reason (because its absolutely terrible and extremely gross) + with... slightly mixed results 😬

Tired to death of seeing people say that the new Lion King film is "Fixing the awkward family tree" by making Mufasa and Scar not adopted (i.e. Scar being Nala or Kovu's father in a scenario would be "okay")

We've had this conversation before; Adoption is no less valid a familial connection than blood. Implying that Mufasa and Scar aren't "real brothers" because they were adopted and that their relatives can get together as consequence of this is incredibly tone-deaf to imply that adoption is a "lesser" form of family and therefore can commit incest. And in a movie where the main characters sing a musical numer called "I Always Wanted a Brother," this is just... a really weird takeaway, to put it gently.

And oh-yeah, there's no awkward family tree to begin with, no matter what slop Buzzfeed or Screenrant regurgitates every 2 years: Nala isn't Scar's daughter, (both based on just... basic context in and out of the movie), Kovu isn't Scar's son (based on it having to be said twice in the film).

And also, Mufasa: The Lion King takes place in an alternate universe. Word of mouth from the creators, "It's its own thing." So it would not over-write any of the family trees of the 2D animated movies anyways (that won't stop people from applying headcanons in accordance to the film, but there's the objective fact).

I'm excited for the new movie as well, and I too really like the idea of Mufasa being an orphaned cub, and him and Scar becoming brothers, but if we're going to praise the film/have high hopes for it, can we express them in ways that do not involve bashing the original with baseless critiques and half-truths that have been disproven time and time again? Especially when the topic involves something as sensitive as incest conflated with something as misunderstood and stigmatized as adoption?

I think the reason a lot of people's analaysis of TV shows from the 90s and early aughts flounders is because they're so far removed from the cultural context, which is how you get takes about shows like house md that go something like "the writers were intentionally stringing along their audience with the promised of making these characters kiss on screen" instead of "queerphobia worked in such a way at the time that you could have a queer side character with weird and offensive subplots but you couldn't just make your protagonist gay all of a sudden."

i just realized something and you're the only dog man person I have any way of interacting with but...like... Why do we ship dogman with people? Sure he has a man's body but his brain is a dog. He's not a full anthro animal like Petey is, who functions and acts human. Dogman thinks and acts like a straight up dog.

Dogman, as a character, is a very interesting dilemma for shipping in general due to the fact he has the brain of… Well, a dog.

Dogman in the comics is only shown to be romantically attracted to dogs, this isn’t seen as a bad thing this is seen as ‘lol, Dogman likes dogs because he’s half dog’ I don’t think Dogman is ever attracted to more sentient beings like humans - or cats - besides that.

But when ignoring those canon details, I think what this all comes down to is that, the Dogman comics are VERY silly, anything could happen, and people who read these comics have their imaginations and if they want to ship Dogman with other characters they can do that.

This story allows shipping to be made without it being weird as fuck because literally anything could happen so it doesn’t seem out of place (I mean, the cats are fully sentient but the dogs aren’t, it doesn’t make sense, but it doesn’t matter and you don’t question it lol), I think most people when shipping Dogman with other characters headcanon Dogman as sentient as a human and understands the idea of relationships.

Petey x Dogman is also just an interesting character dynamic situation that can be shifted into romance for some people. Like bad guy x good guy is pretty popular for a reason! I myself can’t really get myself to ship it due to the context of canon, but I’ve always been one to not headcanon stuff and or to just not sway away canon elements in general I feel. Which is also very funny because enemies to lovers is literally my go to lol-

Although, Detey kind of turns into a problem when people start insisting they love each other in the canon story and that you’re wrong if you don’t think so…. when that will literally never happen. Dogman is sentient as a dog, and Petey is uh, probably not attracted to the man he hates that is also a dog lol (and his many issues would also probably get in the way of that, speaking of which has Petey ever been romantically interested in anyone in canon?)

(But also it’s kind of interesting, don’t really know where to put this, that Dogman and Petey have an agreement to take Lil Petey on separate days, they practically have a divorce situation going on, which is funny af 😭😭)

TLDR people can do what they want, the Dogman books practically allow this with the context of the silly story, so they ship Dogman with characters (with usually headcanoning Dogman with some semblance of sentience) - which is usually Petey - because it’s fun and interesting and people like shipping.
