Fallen angel on my doorstep on a pouring, autumn evening- did you know that I would still be up, and fussing with the cleaning? Would you have known I hadn’t started mopping in the foyer - the state of you was sopping, couldn’t trust your feet to buoy you. It seemed whatever plummet stole away your shine and shape. I searched for your expression and you turned your face away. “hdt’ZZSCHHhh!!-uHt’CHHhh!!” -and your dripping wings aflutter- smacked against the doorframe, then your voice barely a mutter, apologized for troubling me, and sunken was the rest of you - “That’s alright,” I said, “I’ve never met someone celestial.” Led you to the stairs, I said “Some warmth is what you need.” My face did flush as your delicate form crumpled once more with a sneeze. “d’ISSCHiue-!!” A burst of light I saw, though quickly it did settle - stayed silent as I watched sparks fly, like grinding against metal. And there you stood, reluctant, as I ran a toasty shower. Wouldn’t disobey as I took your hand, whimpering of ‘Devil’s hour’. The safety of floral wallpaper in the warm, steamy bathroom; your injured wings thrashed without control- “‘ESSCHhiu!! kt’sSSCHh!! d’AASCHIEW!!” I couldn’t really tell if it was exhaustion or the heat - you’d stopped attempting to explain and your trembling had ceased. Fallen angel falling on my humble cotton sheets, what goes on in Heaven that would cause such fitful sleep? For fevers are a worldly thing, and dreams, I guess, as well; you mumbled, love, within your sleep, a promise back to Hell. And crumpled were your wings much like the nose upon your face. Humbled was I to have witnessed another glowing spray. “huhdt’ESSHHIEWw!!” You rolled grumbling onto your side, and there awake I laid - wondering if I should bless you, but it seemed so strange to say.

Hypnos-Somnus is the silence and calmness of the night. He is the warmth of a blanket and coldness of other side of the pillow. He is tiredness, that comes at the end of the day and energy or comfortable laziness in the morning. He is pastel soothing blue, purple and white. He is slow and peaceful lo-fi. He is the blackness of the sleep or vivid visions of the dreams. He is red fields of blood on steppes or single little drops here and there on grass in form of wild poppies. He is this little crust of poppy's seeds in the bun filled with them. He is the certainty of the next day. He is the little white feathers that appear in every part of the city. He is the warmth of sweaters and pajamas. He is the smell of fresh cleaned sheets and much, much more.

He is so many than just sleep. And once you see it, it's hard to stop again. I hope that this year will be calmer, so I could give Him what He truly deserves.

But now, thank you, kind Hypnos-Somnus, that in my crisis days, where I couldn't get enough sleep, you helped me get some rest. That my bed was a safe space, that my pillows were soft. Thank you, that I didn't have any nightmares or stress dreams for a long time.

I thank you and honour you, Hypnos-Somnus, gentle God of sleep!

Our Stance on Non-Traumagenic Systems

After taking the time to read on some things and looking into other things, we, the Starlit Mirror Shards, have decided that we are anti all non-traumagenic systems. Our exception is with endos where we are neutral, but we still will have a DNI with them.

We, as a traumagenic system, find it immensely invalidating and disheartening to see the multitude of "no trauma" systems while claiming to be exactly how OSDD/DID is. This is a mental disorder, not something you can just naturally experience just because. You can't "make" other parts of you to express something. It just... we just want nothing to do with them.

Now, our reasoning for being Endo neutral is due to the argument of how some systems take on being endo in order to not face the fact that they are actually a system. While we respect this, we do not want to associate with people in that state along with opening the flood gates for other endo systems to associate with us. We want to interact with others who are actively trying to understand themselves and work on themselves with their systems, who at the very least acknowledge that they are a system due to trauma that they may not understand. If you are in a state of denying the fact you are a system but hiding behind being an endo system, it just... it feels wrong and makes us think what else are you hiding/lying about at the moment. The interactions just wouldn't feel authentic and disconnected.

For systems who identified as endo before but now accept that they are, in fact, an OSDD/DID system, we accept and respect you fully. We will not judge your past reaching this point, and we will support you moving forward in whatever your healing and growth are.

If you do not agree with our standpoint, please feel free to block us or not associate with us. We will keep syscourse to a minimum as well on our page as we do not want to waste our time arguing over our viewpoint.
