𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐈𝐒𝐋𝐄 𝟗, often stylized as 𝐃𝐈𝐍𝟗, is an experimental rock band from London, United Kingdom. The band is renowned for their avant garde, cheerful space opera with elaborate and intricate storylines of fictional renegades / rock band in outer space. 

Their sound predominantly consists of classic rock, trip hop, post-grunge, and psychedelic rock. They’re inspired by artists like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Gorillaz, Cibo Matto, Garbage, Metric, among a few.

Amira Shams, the main vocalist, storyteller, and lyricist as Aurora, the lost princess of Arsira  Singing examples — she is a mezzo soprano.

The brainchild of August and Amira, the band grew overnight success that they credit to their “mutual hotness.” Though some also identify their success with Amira’s solo work as a bubblegum popstar. They started as a four-piece band with their first single and widely loved debut album, Spaced Out: Chronicles of The Space Renegades. that won British Album of the Year at the Brit Awards and seven other nominations.  

Their second album Superfluid Space Time: And Saving A Prince from The Arthadark Prison, saw the addition of Taewon Kang. Their second album earned them a Grammy

 The  smile  that  sprawls  across  Amira’s  face  can  put  the  Cheshire  cat  to  shame.  “  Oh  God,  ”   she  scooted  to  the  edge  of  her  seat,  effervescent  enthusiasm  lighting  up  her  eyes.   “  I  have  a  few  if  that’s  okay  ?

 The  first  is  Dottie  Lottie,  my  parents  gave  me  the  doll  when  I  was  six  and  I  still  have  it.  I’m  always  wearing  the  locket  Taewon    (  @thereckoniing​​  )    gave  me  for  my  fifteenth  birthday.  It’s  so  important  to  me,  I’ll  never  take  it  off,  really.  It’s  a  sun  and  I’ve  kept  a  picture  of  us  as  kids  in  it.  He  hates  it,  “ she  giggles  at  that.

 Then,  of  course,  my  copy  of  Howl’s  Moving  Castle  that  I  exchanged  with  August  when  we  first  met.  He  heavily  annotated  it  and  I  love  reading  the  comments  and  jokes  he  scribbled  in  whenever  I  feel  stressed  or  upset.  ”

 “  At  least  the  copy  I  gave  you  had  funny  jokes,  unlike  the  one  you  handed  to  me,  ”    August  rolls  his  eyes,  clearly  amused.  “  But  I  suppose  it’s  a  possession  I  adore  to  some  degree.  We  also  have  that  unicorn  plush  duo  we  exchanged  on  our  first  friendship  anniversary.  The  one  she  has  is  named  Octavius,  after  me,  because  Augustus  and  the  one  I  have  is  named  Queenie  after  her  because  she’s  self-obsessed.  ”

 “  There’s  a  funny  story  behind  the  Octavius  thing,  but  they  have  our  voice  recordings,  too.  Queenie  says  ‘I  love  you,  Eight’  and  Octavius  just  says  ‘fuck  off,’  so  who’s  the  better  person  really  ?  ”

 Though  August  laughs  he  quiets  for  a  bit  and  starts  drumming  with  his  fingers  as  if  to  release  anxiousness.  “  I  also  have  a  guitar  my  dad  used  to  sing  songs  to  my  mum  with,  ”    his  voice  is  quiet,  hushed  like  he  doesn’t  want  others  to  hear.  Decidedly,  that’s  all  he’s  going  to  say  about  that.

CAN THEY USE CHOPSTICKS? I suppose. It’s not a utensil she uses most often, but she can. 

WHAT DO THEY DO WHEN THEY CAN’T SLEEP? Amira usually goes to bug August  ( or Taewon )  when she can’t sleep, which is nearly every night. She can barely sleep alone anyway and often feels sad when she absolutely has to. So, she’s more likely to be found fast asleep on their beds rather than her own. 

WHAT WOULD THEY IMPULSE BUY AT THE GROCERY STORE? Impulse buy? Amira? Everything, my friend. She sees anything remotely adorable and she buys it. Most often , it’s candy or chocolates or plushes.   

WHAT ORDER DO THEY WASH THINGS IN THE SHOWER? Amira’s shower routine is pretty extensive. She starts with oiling her hair with argan or rosehip oil an hour before the shower and combs it to get rid of tangles with a wooden comb. She also applies a body oil before showering. 

After half an hour of extensive theorizing and daydreaming in the tub, she heads for the shower and washes her hair first with a strawberry scented shampoo. Of course, she puts on a pretend concert while using bottles as her mic. The poor girl has often almost slipped because of this. She also tries to make spikes with the shampooed up hair. Can’t forget to mention the conditioner. 

Next, she washes her body with her moisturizing rose scented body wash. The order starts from her shoulders and works her way down to her feet, scrubbing away with a loofah. She always towel dries herself and wraps another towel around her hair. Next is her skin care, but that’s not our topic. 

WHAT’S THEIR COFFEE ORDER? Something sweet because she’s not a fan of bitter things and she doesn’t need the caffeine rush. Usually, she prefers getting a strawberry or chocolate milkshake. If she has to go for coffee, her go-to order is a vanilla frappe, but she will also get bombon, iced cappuccino, or mocha, 

WHAT SORT OF APPS WOULD THEY HAVE ON THEIR SMARTPHONE? Amira loves Spotify the most and she’s almost always listening to music ( while belting it out ofc ) on her phone. Other than that, she has Instagram and she’s fairly active on it. 

HOW DO THEY ACT AROUND CHILDREN? Like Amira— childish. She somehow gets along with children because they think she’s one of them. Does this mean you can consider her a babysitter? Far from it, she gets bored with kids way too easily even if she’s a responsible person. She is extremely careful with kids and she would do her best to take care of them but she finds it boring and exhausting. She avoids hanging out with kids for longer periods to be honest. 

Since most people mention it in the answers, Amira doesn’t want kids of her own. That can change in the future, but the chances are unlikely. 

WHAT WOULD THEY WATCH ON TV WHEN THEY’RE BORED AND NOTHING THEY REALLY LIKE IS ON? Dominant Ne alert, because she’d put something on and then switch to something else and keep repeating it. Though the scenario is unlikely since she doesn’t watch TV and prefers streaming things with a strong preference for 90s shows. 

CAN THEY USE CHOPSTICKS? He is half Korean and was raised by a Korean step-mum, what do ya think? He’s an expert chopstick user and he can also drum with them on the bowls. 

WHAT DO THEY DO WHEN THEY CAN’T SLEEP? Talks to Amira, of course. She’s practically there all the time anyway. They just listen to music, have a jamming session, and talk about nonsense until they drift off. If she’s not there for some reason, he will have a late night one-man jamming session by himself. Sometimes his bandmates and Taewon just join him anyway. 

WHAT WOULD THEY IMPULSE BUY AT THE GROCERY STORE? Food, any kind of food. Listen, he’s a big boy at 6′5″ and all that drumming requires energy. When he’s at the grocery store, he’s slowly putting in bags of chips, candy, gummies, cupcakes, and whatever else in the cart until Jack or Taewon remind him that they’re here for groceries. 

WHAT ORDER DO THEY WASH THINGS IN THE SHOWER? Head to toes. However, he often does his shaving before the showering part.  First, he puts on music to sing and drum with shampoo bottles. He washes his luscious locks with an expensive brand of shampoo and conditioner  ( he takes care of his hair, okay ?  Amira also applies oils and hair masks on to keep them healthy and shiny. )  Like Amira, he also suffers from spiking his hair up with shampoo. He does the regular washing with both normal body washes and also uses intimate washes. All this usually takes more than an hour.   Once he does all that work to be squeaky clean, he just sticks around with nothing on but a towel for hours on end because he can’t be bothered to get dressed. 

WHAT’S THEIR COFFEE ORDER? August’s high energy with a coffee is a bad idea. Though, he usually gets some kind of iced coffee like an iced cappuccino. 

WHAT SORT OF APPS WOULD THEY HAVE ON THEIR SMARTPHONE? He has those specific apps for musicians and songwriters. In saying that, he also has Spotify, Instagram, and Twitter ( because he likes it when people are being idiots ).

HOW DO THEY ACT AROUND CHILDREN? Surprisingly, August is a great older brother around kids. He usually sparks a love of science in them by telling them cool science facts and doing little harmless physics or chemistry experiments and explaining them. He also looks really cool and has that aloof musician musician vibe. So, it’s normal for kids to be interested in him.  Though he thinks kids are okay, he’s not interested in having kids of his own. 

WHAT WOULD THEY WATCH ON TV WHEN THEY’RE BORED AND NOTHING THEY REALLY LIKE IS ON? some thriller movie or a classic whodunnit to see if he can guess the plot. He usually gets Amira on board and they see who wins. Sometimes he mutes them to make it extra difficult. Spoiler: he usually does figure stuff out easily because he’s great connecting dots— even better than Amira.

1.1: Dominant Ne

All ENTP types have dominant extraverted intuition. In typology, dominant functions are considered the ‘drivers,’ meaning they are in charge. It’s our favourite function and we use it without realizing or without any effort.  Ne is an extraverted, perceiving function so it aims toward the outside for exploration instead of being introspective. Extraverted intuition looks for patterns and connections in a pool of ideas or facts. This means they can go off on a tangent, get lost into too many rabbit trails, and then lose sight of their original idea. Their thoughts are like multiple train tracks, crossing each other at the same time. As a result, thoughts always consume their mind and they’re always connecting the dots and then jumping onto completely different ideas. That’s because they look for and love endless possibilities and how those possibilities can be interrelated. Their love of possibilities often makes them play the role of a devil’s advocate as they love arguing and exploring different perspectives.  This adoration of obscure connections makes the Ne dom humorous as they tend to like witty things, puns, and seeing the funny side of things.  They have something childlike about them as they look at the mysteries of the world with wide-eyed wonder. They want to look for them and find those answers, except they rarely know what to look for. This also makes them excitable as their eyes grows wide when they think they stumbled across something exciting. Ne doms tend to have eyes that cast skywards as they’re always in their heads. This makes them extremely curious, perhaps the most curious of the 16 types. All of this also contributes to a sense of restlessness as they want to discover more exciting things.  One easiest way to recognize Ne doms is to to see if they have a ‘what if’ and ‘what will happen’ pattern of thinking. 

1.2: Introverted Ti

If dominant functions are the drivers, auxiliary functions are the shotguns. Unlike the dominant, our auxiliary function is developed later and it’s something we use deliberately with effort in comparison to how effortless our dominant flows. That’s because we’re less accustomed to see how the world works through that lens. Furthermore, our auxiliary function serves our dominant and aids it like a nurturer. So, basically think of it as a supportive character that serves as a means.    Aux Ti helps the Ne analyze things. So, aux Ti will turn the Ne inwards for reflection. So, when the Ne bounces around for ideas, the Ti will help analyze those different ideas, facts, etc. and narrow them down and bring focus. A dom Ne will look at one idea from multiple different perspectives and angles, then the Ti auxiliary will help analyze them and find an internal logic. This will help them make sense of what possibility is more advantageous. Consider it an organizing tool. 

1.3: Tertiary Fe

The third function in our stack is not well-developed. In this way, we’re bound to use this one irresponsibly. It’s why this is called as the “10-year-old-function,” or according to Dr. Beebee, the “eternal child” because it has that level of maturity. We use this function to be creative, explore, and recharge. So, in a way, it works in tandem with our auxiliary function.  As a result, ENTPs can connect with others and understand their moods. ENTPs are pretty good at reading people and their emotions. They can also use it with their dominant Ne to make themselves more charming and likable (both through jokes or speech). A reason why ENTPs are known as the jokesters or the class clowns. One of the reasons is because they can understand responses and work accordingly. Unfortunately, knowing and understanding others also helps them know exactly what would be hurtful. This can make them often appear cold, uncaring, and insensitive. 

ENTPs lack emotional intelligence which makes them shove aside theirs or others feelings, especially when they’re hurt. However, even if ENTPs lack emotional intelligence, Fe also makes them loyal friends even if heir loyalty shows differently. They tend to use their Ne to find solutions to your problems instead of giving emotional support. 

1.4: Inferior Si

Our inferior function is more or less the Achilles’ heel of our functions. That’s because it’s the function that we can’t process and it can cause us some problems.  

Si is an intraverted function so it focuses on the inner, subjective personal experience. It sees details and contrasts past with present. As a result, ENTP who focus on generating possibilities, forget existing solutions. Similarly, it also makes them forgetful of taking care of their personal needs. ENTP often find daily tasks like a burden because it takes them out of their heads (Ne dom) into the practical world (Si inferior).

Giving birth to a reincarnated higher being is a daunting task, to say the least. The parent giving birth has to be a very exalted supernatural being to not die in the process. That’s because demons, fae, spirits, hell beasts, hell-beings, and even demi-gods can die in the process. The only beings who can survive giving birth to a higher being are deities themselves. 

The reason behind this is that higher beings are made of a very tumultuous and strong energy that slowly disintegrates their organs from the inside. Think of it resembling terribly bad radiation of a different kind. 

Amira’s mother, Lamia Shams, is an earthly reincarnated goddess, but her pregnancy wasn’t easy. In fact, the reason why Amira was born in Rome was that her mum was put on bed rest immediately and she was sick throughout the term. 

On a much darker note  (  heavy topic warning, please tread with caution  ), Augustus’ mum who was a demi-goddess died in childbirth.

what colour are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)?

August’s eyes are naturally honey brown and reflect a lot of light. They’re tremendously noticeable and they’re probably the second thing you’d notice about him after his immense height and stature. You can describe them as deep and piercing because they have this quality that might make you believe for a second he is looking into your soul.

In saying that, his eyes are also magical in the way that they turn this bright, unnatural electric blue colour when he is using his powers.

what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

In all honesty, he has trouble dealing with all sorts of emotions, especially any heavy emotions. If there is something that overwhelms his heart, his first instinct is to flee or distract himself.

It’s the same with other strong emotions, but I feel it mostly applies to sadness and love. When he loves someone more than he’d like to admit, he does exactly does that. He doesn’t actually reveal or recognize what he feels.

The reason behind this is that he isn’t emotionally very smart. Of course, he’s probably not as emotionally stupid as Amira, but definitely close.  

are they quick to violence?

Not at all, not even close. August has always been the biggest pacifist and there is rarely anything that gets his blood boiling. Obviously, he’d get mad if you hurt his friends, but I doubt his first instinct would be violence. The only time I’d seen him actually grow physically tense like he is getting ready to fight someone was when Amira was being threatened.

Well, you know the answer to this one already! dkjfhdj But, yes, reading is one of his top favourite hobbies along with debating and writing songs. However, less than drumming. His top favourite genres would definitely be non-fic books on astrophysics, magical realism, science fiction comedy, and philosophical literature.

what will always lure them into certain danger? a loved one in danger? a promise of something they are always searching for?

Oof, okay, so I’ll be honest. Yes, he can easily be lured into danger while knowing 100% that he is walking into something that might spell his doom. Funnily, he can do that for a few people without thinking for a second. Amira and his sister, Cassie are people he’d blindly risk himself for. What’s worse, is that he can risk other people as well for them. You’re welcome to judge him.

But he would also risk himself for others, though not as blindly and without thinking, but he would still. By this, I mean Jack, Taewon, and the other demon gang members.

do they enjoy having their picture taken? what's their go-to pose? do they like taking photos? what do they take photos of?

Of course, he does enjoy it. However, he also doesn’t care ?  If you take his photo, he wouldn’t hate it, but he also doesn’t care about being photographed. Additionally, he is egotistical enough to feel like the person taking the picture is enjoying it more. Okay, joking  —  perhaps, but he is confident af so he doesn’t really care for the poses. That’s because he believes he’d look amazing in every pose and usually he does. Except for that one time when Amira took his picture when his whole face was covered in buttercream frosting. Not that he still doesn’t pretend that he looks beautiful in that, too. Yes, he’s stubborn.

He doesn’t take photos that often but he does like taking close-up pictures of random objects like lights, leaves, sunlight filtering from the trees, etc.

I’m SUPER glad that you sent this particular question without mentioning who it was for because it makes more sense to answer it for both at the same time.

August was first, albeit he materialized in stages. The conception occurred around 2017 ?   I believe late 2017 but I could be wrong. I was watching this particular scene from one of the X-Men movies that’s pretty iconic. And, the first thought I had was ‘ well, what if he is manipulating time and space instead ?’ because of how everything was in a different velocity.

I sort of forgot about it until 2018 when I had this vivid (and believe me, when I say vivid) image of this very tall   (  around 6’3”+ ��)   18-19-year-old boy with long dark hair to his chin, piercing eyes, strong jaw, and broad shoulders. He was wearing a leather jacket and he had drum sticks in his hands. He slowed time down in a very Quicksilver-esque fashion.

So, when it comes to August, he was just a very strong vision in my head and I don’t know if it’s luck or fate that I found the exact face claim for him. He also had the name August right from the start because it means the greatest and that was who he was right from the beginning.

Now, what about Amira, you say ?

She came along with him. It was like she was tucked in his pocket. She wasn’t as vivid as he was, I just knew he was one of “ a pair, ” and that was confusing. In this way, I had to spend time discovering her through him.

Basically, the first thing I knew about Amira was that she was August’s “ other half. ”

The second thing I knew about her was that she was extremely powerful but also feminine and kinda princessy. Like, she’d wear a pink bow in her hair, so most might not take her for someone can destroy the universe with a tap of her fingers.
