quando entrou no carro, se impediu de chorar - não querendo dar a satisfação mesmo que ele não pudesse a ver. iria lidar com este problema como lidava com tudo na vida ; em elegância e temperança. ou assim, disse para si mesma, antes de fazer um desvio do caminho de casa para a direção da casa de wonho. alita não era santa, entre os muitos erros que cometeu, aquele rapaz estava entre eles. supôs que se os flertes contassem, ela também tinha sido uma traidora.

agora estava sentada na escada do prédio do mais novo, esperando pelo que - ela não sabia. quem sabe a atenção de alguém que via apenas ela. era injusto , mas novamente, ela não era santa. quando ele se aproximou, a cabeça dela se ergueu , e fragilmente ela disse, simples :   ❛ ⎯⎯⎯⎯ oi. ⎯⎯⎯⎯ ❜

Well, I seem to get more mers drawn when I'm on stream, so here's Sideswipe and him missing his arm from the comic panels

the Start of Windblade, wasn't planning on doing her butshe kinda happened screaming over how pretty she is, and gods doing her head fins were hell. Discord watched me struggle with them for ages.

And because that now only leaves Soundwave both an OG and Prime form for my next stream after I finish her.

okay starting off here are our main characters

also this is subconsciously inspired by alita: battle angel BECAUSE I LOVE IT SM. youll see a lot of little things alluding to it but like. i dont draw from it DIRECTLY .

so this world is a cyber/dystopian setting with a very heavy class-based system. instead of a physically Up/down thing that is seen in a lot of media, its moreorless inn vs outerskirts of the same region. the further out you go the "worse" it gets. Lets introduce our mcs.

Lacey Pines (she/they), a oficcer/guard who despite works in the "inner" part of the city, lives in the outskirts. She (along with many other officers on her level) do not get paid much and often turn to corruption and such. we didnt develop that system too much which is something we'll end up doing prolly soon.

Next we have Millie Pines(she/her) Lacey's estranged older sister. She is sort of an etrperener.ent.entreprenour?? whatever. oh but little do the people know shes an ASSASIN!?!?!?!?!? heh hell yeah. As a kid she was taken from her family. she still remembers them, but her thinking was also sort of manipulated by the people who took her.

quick note on that!! their father was HEAVY into debt and officers/debt collectors were threatening to take their home and arrest the father along with it, swearing to doom the rest of the family. Their mother ends up striking a deal- giving away one of their children to the high-standing guard training facility. Theres this big boss guy that takes millie under his wing i dont remember him at ALL i think he was a character from the og piece of media this entire thing was based off of but that wont do anymore so we'll fix him later. He's like. a horrible person but like. father figure. i guess? Millie continues to call him "father"

Well, she does also realize how bad all this shit is but she stays on the morally-grey side. She just does her job. ot doesn't matter who- it could be a huge ceo or someblady who wanta to kill her husband because he cheated. doesnt matter at. all.

Next we have riley!!! (he/him) he is ALSO an assassin but he's a resident of the outskirts who hides out in the inner city. He is also simultaneously a decently big name in the inner city being somewhat of a sports star!! there was this underground sports thing I don't remember at ALL but he was. really good at that. rich people from the inner city would come to see it a lot (cough cough millie). he's just a silly lad. Lil guy if you will.

Lucky(she/he) is a thief (we didn't develop her story much...💔💔💔) ...infact. there's not a lot on her which is sad cuz I love her.

during the main story, lacey grows to HATE millie. with a passion. when millie was taken lacey was very young so she doesn't remember much, as in fact soon after it happened their mother either left or died, so their father raised her instead. lacey internalized hate for millie since bcuz of how she was raised, she couldn't bring herself to hate her mom or anything else, so what's the next best thing? the sister who "abandoned her family"

I see your tags on the Wocky and Alita art, I would love to hear your thoughts on Alita actually!

I only need one person to show interest in what I have to say for me to talk forever and ever, thank you. HAHA Okay, in seriousness, this won't be as thorough/long as the Klavier post because... there really isn't much to her, but I find it extremely interesting how Alita falls into the same category of witnesses as April May and Dahlia without being — and I mean no offence to her when I say this — stunning? Like, with April and Dahlia, there's a very clear mass appeal to them which most people point out. Contrariwise, Alita's appearance is really only commented on by Trucy, and just glancing at her portrait, you can see that, without her slightly outlandish fashion, she's frankly nothing to write home about.

So why am I discussing this? Surely it's a little reductive to analyse female characters beginning with their appearances? Usually, yes, but that's the thing about this category of witnesses: their pretty faces aren't just pretty faces.

For April and Dahlia, their beauty is part of their arsenal. It functions as both their defence and their weapon of choice; they know how to wield it to bring people under their heel. Alita being ordinarily pretty instead of drop-dead gorgeous deprives her of that weapon and leads you to wonder how she became a mafia heiress to begin with. It also parallels her to Mimi Miney in a way that goes beyond the 'murderous nurse who worked for and killed her awful boss' comparison you get on the surface. Presumably, Alita, like Mimi, only got to where she was because she managed to fool the people around her into believing she was less dangerous than she actually is. Mimi did this by feigning stupidity and inviting people to underestimate her. Alita seems to do this by showing them what they want to see.

When she first meets Apollo and Trucy, Alita stays quiet and spends more time listening to them than she does talking. Once she has a hold on who they are, then she slips into her persona, and I find it interesting how she doesn't even attempt to come across as particularly delicate or lovelorn? Instead she goes for the relatively typical role of a distressed, indulgent loved one earnestly entreating Apollo for help. I'm inclined to say she does this because her read on Apollo makes her realise that he'd likely be exasperated or annoyed by such a person; but it's also almost as if she knows she doesn't have the disposition to pull off that frail, damsel-in-distress archetype and has resigned herself to being ordinary. Like how she looks. The next time she has to reapply her persona, Alita's appearing in court, and again she makes subtle adjustments that best suit her situation. The judge is old, so she takes a chance on expressing her dedication as a wife while balancing her dedication as a righteous citizen, which works. But oddly enough, despite her successes, I don't think Alita is actually good? At donning disguises? Everyone I've seen discuss this case has been able to guess almost immediately that she's the culprit, and maybe we're just prepped by past characters like her that have appeared, but I don't think she's even that convincing in the game.

Both the identities she assumes are risky manoeuvres that happen to fall in her favour, and she's not particularly dedicated to maintaining the front. When she asks Apollo to be Wocky's defence, she admits that marrying him is largely a chance at a more exciting life than some great love story; Plum Kitaki straight up says that there's a darkness in Alita she doesn't like, despite how docile Alita behaves in front of her; and Wocky has moments where he slips up and calls her things like, "imposter" and "fallen angel", implying that at least subconsciously, he knows she's not what she makes herself out to be. Even her general mannerisms don't greatly differ between her actual self and the mask who's blunt her claws — nothing is ever overtly coy or cutesy — and when Apollo brings up the fact she was Wocky's nurse, she drops the facade almost immediately. There's no waffling, no, "Whatever do you mean?"s or, "You're scaring me"s, just the statement, "I don't know what you mean by 'meaning', Mr. Justice!" delivered in a sudden cool, frosted steeliness.

And I think that steel is what really makes her different.

See, the other women are all driven to crime by some defining trait in themselves caused by their circumstances. For Dahlia, it's her desperate need to be free of the Fey clan; for Mimi, it's grief over her sister's unjust death; and for April, it's her fear of Redd White. You don't really get that with Alita. Instead of there being something dark in her life that leads her down this path, she just seems... tired. Tired of being "pretty enough" but not "gorgeous", tired of being the obedient nurse to the corrupt doctor, tired of being ordinary. There's no predatory external force pushing her into a corner, there's no abusive family beliefs pinning her down. There's just an ordinary life, lived dull and ordinarily, and she had had enough. So what does this girl, who's tired and ordinary in every way except the steel that lines her spine, do to get out of this?

She gambles.

Marrying into the mafia was a gamble, seeking Apollo as council was a gamble, shooting Dr. Meraktis was a gamble. Every decision she's made since she met Wocky has been a series of high-stakes gambles that leave her life on the line all so she won't be second-best anymore. This time, she was going to be the one on top. No matter what.

... And I'm sorry for loving evil women, but girlboss?? Girlboss???

I've heard people say they're disappointed that her "breakdown" is just an extension of her usual damage sprite, but it's honestly one of my favourite "breakdowns" in the series ever? Just because it isn't really one? Everything Alita has done up till now has been reckless, calculated risk, of course being convicted for murder is no different than losing in any other aspect of her life. Of course you're not going to get more than her damaged sprite, because this doesn't warrant a more dramatic reaction. She's lived this whole time knowing it could all come crashing down around her, and it finally did.

She made a bad bet. You caught her. Oh well.

The frosted girl of steel, standing tall to the very end. It's kind of sad that, even after all that, she's still seen as only second-best, incomparable to mimi, dahlia or any of the other women who've stood in her place.

Bridge to the Turnabout

Almost every case has redeemable moments but that one really stands out to me as the one that perfectly ties together everything the original trilogy was building towards, and is a masterclass in storytelling.

Adrian Andrews. Not as a witness, necessarily, but just as a whole character. She's just like me for real.

16. Least favourite victim?

Jezaille Brett is the one that most immediately stands out to me as someone who, in the middle of the case, I wanted to stop playing because I didn't want to catch the killer, except to shake their hand and give them a congressional medal of honor.

Also on the podium are Jack Hammer and Pal Merkatis. Leave Dee and Alita alone! SHE'S FINE! SHE WASN'T DOING ANYTHING! HEY! STOP!

27. Apollo’s perceive, Phoenix’s magatama or Athena’s Mood Matrix?

Gotta give this one to the magatama. Perceive is a cool mechanic but tedious in actual gameplay unless you know exactly what/where/when to look, and I'm too emotionally unstable to make sense of the Mood Matrix. Like, what do you mean I'm supposed to identify what a person shouldn't be feeling in a certain circumstance? I'm not a director at Pixar it's none of my goddamn business who was at the control panel in their mind at any given moment. I can't even make sense of my emotions and now you want me to make sense of someone else's? Fuck you!

Also I actually have a magatama necklace so bonus points there.

39. Would you like there to be another Ace Attorney/Professor Layton crossover game?

I don't know if I'd necessarily like to see the duo from the original trilogy with Phoenix and Maya but I'd love to see the trio from the prequel trilogy with the folks from Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Emmy teaching Susato how to do a proper roundhouse kick and Susato teaching Emmy the art of a Susato takedown would be magnificent.

However, knowing what happened behind the scenes at Capcom the last time there was a crossover game, I'm not sure I'm willing to risk it. My queue tag actually means something to me, it's not something I say just so you know I'm not physically at my computer at any given moment. I live and die by the words. Anything that would risk Shu losing even more absolutely must be rejected immediately.

I've been writing and drawing since I was little. And before I could write, I would tell my mother my story and she'd write it down for me. I've always had a crazy imagination. When I was a tween, I got into anime and manga, so I learned how to draw in that art style.

I am 26, queer-romantic asexual, and feminine-presenting nonbinary. I identify as both a girl and a demi-boy. You can refer to me as she/her, he/him, or they/them. I don't mind. I'm also white and have ADHD, dyspraxia, anxiety, and depression that prevents me from getting a "real" job.

I'm pretty shy and anxious, but once you get to know me, I may say some weird stuff and dad jokes. I'm a big nerd and simp as well.

1. are you named after anyone?

Nope.

2. when was the last time you cried?

I think while watching Conversations with Friends, not too long ago. I was crying like a river lol.

3. do you have kids?

I don't even have a partner, so yeah, that's pretty much out of my plans for now haha.

4. do you use sarcasm a lot?

Not really. Only with the people I trust.

5. what sports do you play/have you played?

A little bit of soccer when I was a kid. I've never been an athletic person.

6. what’s the first thing you notice about other people?

Their gestures, the way they express themselves. Can say a lot about their vibes and personalities with that.

7. scary movies or happy endings?

I don't hate scary movies buuut yeah, I'd rather watch something else.

8. any special talents?

Drawing! I've been on a big hiatus for a few years now, but I spent quite a lot of years studying arts and Illustration. Absolutely loved it. Here's a character I did for my studies back in 2019, which happens to be the one on my pfp here in Tumblr. Some sort of cyborg, heavily inspired by GUNNM (Battle Angel Alita):

Unfortunately the current state of the art industry is kinda brutal. Totally drained all my motivation and inspiration to draw, so for now I just take it as a hobby.

Play videogames and spend time on the internet in general, watching youtube, that kind of stuff.

Art History! Always found super interesting all the periods and movements, and I particularly loved the greek art, gothic and art nouveau (chef kiss).

Probably something related to videogames, concept art, character design, that stuff on the artsy side.

what i love about james cameron, is how in avatar 2, he put in titanic references! i loved that! the avatar films do take a long time don't they? 😂 because the first one was in 2009 and the second in 2022 - which is like 13 years - something to do with perfecting the cgi, right? that's so cool tho.

James Cameron is one of my favorite people!! He's so creative and such an inspiration when it comes creativity and storytelling cause Titanic has always been one of my favorite movies too (and that he was a part of creating Aliens and Alita: Battle Angel). But also how much he's contributed as a whole in terms of newer tech is so crazy. I'm like 99% confident that he helped develop his own submarine that he uses to deep sea dive and he pilots it himself, plus all the underwater filmmaking tech that he created and helped develop to film underwater scenes. He's just a genuinely cool dude.

(Except when he's killing off my favorite character in Avatar 2. That wasn't cool 😭)

Yessssss that's exactly what the drama is! I'm so glad you get it cause I'm so tired about hearing the same argument over and over and over again. Just let people read and write what they want - it's all fiction anyway. It's not real. People are responsible for their own media consumption. Writers can write what they want as long as they have the appropriate tags on it. If someone reads the tags and still reads or interacts anyway, that's on them. Use the block button if you don't like something 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was my mom's birthday last weekend and I wasn't able to go visit her. My stepdad's brother and his wife went up there for the long weekend though which is both fine and bad cause my mom adores her sister-in-law but my stepdad's brother is also a POS (everyone in their family is tbh) so having them over always drains her. Plus they always bring their two dogs which I think is very unfair because (1) my mom doesn't really like dogs and these ones are super rowdy and annoying (i like dogs don't, get me wrong, but...yikes), (2) my mom has two cats so they have to stay in her bedroom while the dogs get to run free which I think also isn't very fair, and (3) the dogs always end up using the bathroom inside the house every. single. time. and my mom is the one who ends up having to clean it. So they're there and she has to play "host". The brothers spent the whole weekend making jokes and comments at their wives expenses (you know, like assholes) and they didn't do anything special for her birthday. She had to tend to my stepdad and his family the entire weekend. Naturally, she was exhausted when they left and that same day my stepdad was already on her to clean the house. Like, fuck off.

AND THEN my mom has a special set up in her basement for the cats with tons of toys and shelves and other stuff that she made for them to play with or on. Apparently while my mom and her sister-in-law were out, someone let the dogs down in the basement and they marked their territory all over everything (if you get what I mean). Both methods of "marking their territory" were used and not a single thing down there was left un-destroyed or un-marked. She was furious and when she tried to rant about it to my stepdad, this motherfucker gets angry that she's "shit talking" his family and says "you better shut your mouth unless you want to start a fight". So she couldn't even be upset about it. And no, he didn't help clean it up.

This man has a death wish, I swear.
