I remember seeing your Levi art on the sidebar (I forget what that Featured pane is called) and recognizing it. I know you answered an ask by someone telling you about it, but I'm curious more in depth what your thoughts were.

Also because I took a long Tumblr hiatus and genuinely don't know how much you've said on the topic, but what made you start loving art?

Turns out tumblr isn't notifying me about asks on mobile, so I just saw this on desktop now. Sorry for not responding sooner!

I'm guessing this is about the the Master of the Seas art (because I was also featured on Radar with the Cryptid Levi art before).

One thing I really like about the characters is how much power they hold as high order demons. And I feel like the game doesn't explore this aspect nearly as much as it should.

So as an artist I try to imagine and portray that, especially with Levi. He’s often cast as the one-dimensional shy, insecure one, making it easy to forget he's the 3rd most powerful of the brothers. Someone who can summon and control a literal eldritch horror. I like to think about the full extent of his powers, what magic skills he has, and how cool and hot he looks when he's actually wielding them.

When I saw that fish reference linked on the post, I had this idea of Levi commanding a school of magical fish, then that piece came out.

Why I love art…good question! I guess I never thought about it, because art has always been with me. I started drawing before I could even write. I work in an art adjacent field. I took a 10 year break from drawing, mostly due to impostor syndrome I guess. I picked it up again during the pandemic, trying a completely unfamiliar style, a better software and, most importantly, I stopped pressuring myself. Just drawing whatever I felt like. For the first time, I truly liked what I created.

Ermmmm adding onto the puppet!reader… what if they’re a creation the same way Raiden Shogun or Kuni is to Ei (minus the abandonment and whatnot??)

a Cyborg who grew up in a humble family but had everything ripped away from him, now existing not just for himself but to reenact justice and revenge through the cosmos.

Then theres a Puppet who’s essentially “born” into royalty due to being the creation of a ruler, whose purpose is to maintain order in their land.

boothill had a humble upbring with a family that was forged through compassion and care, yet you had everything. you're sole purpose was to be crafted into royalty to then take your creators place yet no amount of family could be felt. the only thing you two had in common was your lack of humanity.

the ipc had forced his hand into seeking out revenge but it was still ultimately his choice to shed himself of his remaining humanity. you never had a say, you're creator created you for a sole purpose that was dictated from the very minute you became alive. and in that way you could almost be envious that boothill was no more human than you were yet he still had control over his future.

Hey... Do you know the song sung by the voice actor from the pilot Hazbin Hotel? Called Thank you and goodnight. Weirdly this song reminds me of Mystic Messenger, despite being a new fan and having been into this game until this year 2024 I already felt a connection, seeing old posts about this game from an old fan somehow makes me tear up. Despite I'm a fan of 2024, I somehow feel nostalgic about this game despite never actually experience it before

Ohh I also relate with that nostalgia feeling. After playing for a few weeks, it felt like I knew those characters for years. It was weird and comforting. I started playing in 2020, so not super recently, but I was also “late” for the party. Luckily, the MysMess fandom is super chill, receptive and apparently immortal! So welcome!

I can definitely see a connection with the song. When I first started playing the game, like many others, I thought it was just going to be a silly game. But then all of a sudden I was laughing, crying, swooning, and deeply sleep deprived lmao. It was a ride! And whenever I finished a route, it felt like a bittersweet goodbye.
